hello everyone this is hassan with handy bros and today we're going to show you how to attach a piece of wood onto a cinder block using the tapcon screws you can learn how to attach almost anything to a cinder block using the top con screw you know you could install a maybe an electrical box attach a pipe a clamp or whatever you want to attach in this demonstration i will show you how to attach a piece of wood to the cinder block uh like this one if you want to attach something to a solid masonry block or a brick you could use the same thing or even a concrete retaining wall the tapcon screws are pretty much work for all the masonry types so these are the tap on screws uh the concrete screw that we would be using today it's a very simple installation all you need to do is just do a little pre-drill and fasten them these come in a variety of sizes different heads depending on if you want something to be installed flush uh they come in the countersunk style as well so you can pick banning on the project or depending on the things that you are trying to install they do come with the drilling bit as well which is a plus we picked up a lens so that it kind of uh covers the wooden board and kind of go deep enough into the block as well so first i will go ahead and mark the location of the screws that i want to mount i'm going to pre-drill the wood board using the wooden drill bit [Music] [Applause] so i use the same drill bit for same bit size for drilling the hole in the wood that is suggested by the manufacturer for the screws that i'm using so it was 3 16 the drill bit i'm going to use the same masonry drill bit for drilling the hole into the cinder block or the masonry plug [Music] [Music] [Applause] so all right guys as you can see it was so simple and easy uh i just put two screws in here if you want to make it a little beefier maybe we can add two more screws but but it depends on if you are planning on putting a lot of load on it you can even stand on it and show you to go nowhere all right guys thank you so much for watching this video and learning about how to attach a piece of wood onto a masonry block or a cinder block please subscribe to our channel and stay tuned for more exciting content
