Astronauts Crash-land on a Dinosaur-Infested Earth 65 Million Years Ago | Sci Fi Movie Recap

the movie begins with Mills a NASA astronaut lying on the beach with his wife Alia the two of them watch their daughter navine play in the water Mills tells his wife that he does not know how to break the news of his 2-year mission to navine Alia responds by saying that he has been on exploratory missions before and she knows what it's like to not have him around all the time when Mills does not respond she Comforts him by reminding him that his salary has been tripled which will help in Nine's treatment Mills then gets up and joins Naveen in the water he teaches her how to blow a whistle when Naveen reveals that she knows he is leaving and he doesn't have to feel guilty about it I know that you're leaving and I know it's cuz of me the scene then changes to outer space where Mills is piloting a spacecraft alone as all other crew members are in deep cryosleep all of a sudden the spacecraft gets hit by a group of small asteroids which triggers an automatic risk assessment running risk assessment as the spacecraft experiences the activity Mills who had been sleeping jolts awake when he hears loud noises from the asteroids hitting the craft he checks up on the cryostasis chamber and finds that all the passengers who had been put to sleep are okay he then manually tries to navigate the spacecraft through the meteor belt however he's unable to avoid all the debris he ends up sending a distress message that his spacecraft is crashing and prepares to make an emergency landing this ister 3703 our ship has been hit and is going down just before he crashes he gets a vision of navine asking him if he is scared are you scared everything goes dark when he regains Consciousness he goes to the cryo chamber and finds that all the pods have flown out of the craft due to his Crash Landing Mills decides to go out into the atmosphere and discovers that he has landed in Shallow Waters not long after he notices the bodies of the passengers who are once inside the Escape pods he heads back to the spaceship and Records a message for people back home he tells them that nine of the Escape pods have been destroyed while two are missing confirmed nine Escape pods have been destroyed two the atmosphere is breathable but he needs help once again he goes back out to explore later that night Mills returns to the ship and goes through recorded videos of naven when he hears an alarm alerting him of an escape pod that had landed further away from the ship he goes into a forest where he finds the Pod the Pod starts beeping and Mills opens it up he is surprised to find a young girl inside and picks her up before he can reach the spaceship he comes across a large paw print just as he hears howling in the distance it turns out that Mills has landed on Earth 65 million years in the past the scene changes to Mills waking up in the morning inside the ship he checks up on the girl before going to the control room again he tries scanning their location and an automated voice tells him that the location is unknown he continues exploring and makes his way deeper into the woods when he accidentally steps on a piece of bone as he turns around he finds the remains of a dinosaur this is when he notices one between the trees the small dinosaur jumps out and tries to attack him however after some struggle Mills is able to kill it he heads back to the ship but is surprised to find the young girl hiding behind a tree he calls out to her but she starts running Mills chases after her but both of them stumble and roll down a cliff they find themselves next to a dead dinosaur as the two of them get up they hear another one making its way towards them Mills grabs the girl and takes her back to the ship with him he tends to her injuries and asks her for her name when she does not respond he goes through her file and finds that her name is COA he tries to get COA to talk but quickly learns that she does not speak English he then tries to draw pictures to explain that they have to find the last functioning Escape pod which is located on the top of the mountain so that he can take her home COA asks Mill about her family and knowing that they are dead he tells her that they are at the top of the mountain sometime later Mills goes back to the command room and sends out another distress signal that 99-year-old daughter of the Ona family is alive and that the two of them are headed toward the mountains to find their escape pod but before we continue delving into their shared fight for survival be sure to subscribe to the channel for even more dinosaur is stuck and with his help manages to free it as the dinosaur walks away it is suddenly attacked by another dinosaur that kills it seeing this COA screams but Mills manages to cover her mouth before dinosaurs can notice her and hides behind a tree that evening the two of them find themselves at a river where they wash up they continue moving when the GPS informs Mills that the signal has been lost he climbs up on a tree and tries to catch a better signal when he notices large bugs on his hand he tries to fling them away but loses his footing and falls down dislocating his arm he tries putting his shoulder back in place by telling COA to push down on his arm suddenly COA notices several dinosaurs approaching them she manages to grab Mill's gun just in time and hands it to him he begins shooting at the dinosaurs and orders COA to run she heads towards the beach where she waits for Mills to join her suddenly she finds herself surrounded by mysterious looking creatures when she tries to get away from them she finds that two of the dinosaurs that Mills was fighting against had managed to find her she tries getting away when Mills reaches her and Fires at one of them killing him just then the second one grabs her by her hood and drags her across the beach Mills fires in the air causing the dinosaur to leave COA behind since she's too scared to move Mills Waits until her shock wears off sometime later they begin moving and reach a small Cave Mill sets up his device and tells Co to get some sleep while he keeps guard she points towards the sky and asks him about home he uses his device to show her that Earth is somewhere in between the planets that she can see the device then lights up and informs him that there is an irregularity in the atmosphere however it is unable to detect it sometime during the night the alarms that he had set up begin to vibrate waking him up he begins hearing creatures around them and picks up his gun in case he needs to defend himself when he calls out for COA he finds her unconscious foaming at the mouth when he PR her mouth open he finds an insect inside he manages to kill it causing COA to regain Consciousness the sounds from outside continue getting louder and the two of them prepare themselves for the inevitable just when they think they are safe a large dinosaur emerges from behind them and attacks them Kaa spots a small opening and slips inside with Mills following her they make their way through the narrow cave when they reach a dead end mills hears the sound of wind and tries to shovel his way through but he reaches another dead end and gives up on trying to escape COA comes up to him and starts talking to him in a foreign language and tries to get him to continue digging so that they can find her family Mills tries telling her that there is no way out when he is reminded of the explosives that he has he places one inside the small opening and activates it the explosion opens up a small opening through which they're able to climb inside COA reaches the end of the cave but Mills get stuck when it begins caving in Mills tells COA to stay where she is but when he tries to move the opening begins to collapse s leaving him with no choice but to climb back out this separates the two of them Mills tries calling out to COA but when she does not respond he takes another route to reach her meanwhile COA manages to get out of the cave and finds herself back in the forest Mills makes his way through the new route when his flashlight goes off he then finds himself in another cave when he hears something behind him he fires his gun and uses his device to initiate a proximity scan to detect the creatures in the darkness his scan reveals that the dinosaur is behind him just when it attacks him causing the gun to fly out of his hands he bites the dinosaur and finally manages to kill it at the same time COA walks deeper into the forest when she begins to hear creatures around her she picks up a dinosaur horn to use as a weapon and continues moving Mills who had managed to finally find an exit notices an asteroid in the sky he uses his device to scan it and discovers that a catastrophic asteroid is headed towards them he then enters the forest and starts calling out for COA Kaa on the other hand COA hides behind a bush when a dinosaur finds her she starts running as the dinosaur chases her she hides inside a hollow tree bark but the dinosaur follows her inside she gets out and manages to trap the creature inside she then uses the explosives that Mills had given her causing an explosion that kills it meanwhile Mills recognizes her screams and begins running in her Direction however he gets stuck in quicksand when Co hears him calling out to her she runs toward towards him helps him out of the quicksand and hugs him Mills points at the asteroid he had seen and explains that they had 12 hours to make it out before it hits the planet the two of them make their way towards the mountains they reach a cliff and COA offers to climb up so that she can tie a rope around something secure and help Mills reach the top after a few minutes COA drops the Rope down to Mills who uses it to climb up they reach the location of the escape podt and enter it COA begins calling out for her parents while Mills Powers up the ship the automated voice tells him that his distress signal was received and provides him with the interception Point coordinates Mills happily informs COA that everything is working he turns around to find COA missing he follows her outside where the empty cry pods lay Co begins crying and asks him where her family is realizing that her family is dead COA sits down and continues crying Mill shows her a picture of naine and tells her that the last time he saw his daughter she was mad at him and that she died while he was away COA hugs him and continues to cry just then they noticed debris from the asteroid fall falling to the ground Mills buckles COA up and launches the Escape pod just when a piece of asteroid debris falls on top of the mo spacecraft this causes the Pod to fall from the cliff both of them lose Consciousness but when COA wakes up she finds them upside down she tries waking Mills up and then presses the launch button however the launch is a failure and an alarm goes off by the time Mills regains Consciousness a dinosaur appears outside their pod Mills manages to free himself and exits the Pod he spots his gun and picks it up only to find that it needs to be recharged and that there are two dinosaurs instead of one he runs towards a hollow tree and hides underneath it the two dinosaurs head towards him almost crushing him in the process seeing Mill struggling COA unbuckles herself and uses his device to play naveen's video the Hologram distracts the dinosaurs and they head towards it giving Mills just enough time to recharge his weapon he then Fires at one of the dinosaurs and takes it down just then the other one notices COA and starts running towards her it hits the Pod causing it to fall all over this results in the orientation getting restored and the pot automatically initiates repairs COA signals for Mills to come back but before he can make his way over to her they notice another dinosaur headed his way he orders COA to launch the ship while he starts running in the opposite direction to stop the dinosaur from noticing COA as it follows Mills he heads towards the area with underground geysers the dinosaur gets stuck in an eruption but it is not enough to kill it all of a sudden COA arrives there as well and stabs the creature in the eye killing it Mills and COA noticed the large asteroid fast approaching them and head back to the Pod Mills launches it and they barely make it out into space soon after the asteroid hits and destroys the planet the movie ends with the Escape pod reaching the Inception point where help awaits them their unlikely friendship forged in the fires of a prehistoric world became a Beacon of Hope proving the human spirit's ability to endure and find solace in the face of unimaginable challenges thank you for joining us on this
