AST vs MAD | Week 1 Day 3 | 2021 LEC Summer Split | Astralis vs MAD Lions

[Music] welcome back to the lec summer season we're about to jump into game three of super week on day three and it is astralis versus mad lions and i think much to everybody's surprise astralis are two and o and it has been very interesting watching their games did you expect them to be on the cusp of a 3-0 along with misfits at the end of week one you know honestly considering this schedule i had actually i had a slight thought that it might come through they are one of the teams that stuck together the teams they faced all had major roster changes sk excel so you know by that yes i think today is the real test this is where you solidify yourself all right we can do this against the elite four as well the thing that i love is in an interview with zanzara he held no help nothing back he just threw punches everywhere why would you swap what is the decision making he made it very very clear that he believes that this roster and the experience they have gained will prove pivotal so let's see what happens as they jump into a game against mad lions who obviously don't have their full support staff we heard from mack yesterday that due to quarantine regulations he's not in a gaming house with the team he's unable to give that support but and lions obviously still one of the teams expected to do super super well throughout summer the first true test as google would say for astralis and straight out the gate they bound that lucian get that out of the way for humanoid potentially as well as the varus and that gwen yeah and here's the thing about the meta right now on blue side you can alleviate yourself open for more target bands but on the red side it's more like right we don't want the gwen we don't want thresh we don't want the knocks and some of these are renekton rather there's so many champions right now did you just feel like i we can't give them this combo for example rumble huge priority for for yoya here centauro not so much he's been favoring that trundle yeah the trundle is a interesting pick uh let's put it that way and i think when we look down the lines of rumble zanzara no games played this year on that champion it is still open and available and i feel like rumble is one of those champions that is super bandworthy it has just so much impact and i think one of the discussions that we're seeing from socials and sharks was talking about as well it's like akali fans are really jumping on the banner carly train at the moment that's also currently available will it be picked yeah i i think so too but when you look at the likes of win we saw yesterday right knocked him pretty good counter pick but right now okay um okay that is an interesting one that that gotta be a mistake they i wasn't watching the timer very closely and we'll have to find out after the fact uh but that means that both rumble is open viego is open acarly is open a lot of these picks that are seeing huge impact as is that ezreal and jessica will have his 80 carry locked in first yeah you can clearly see what they went for here all right let's get rid of boris let's get up rid of the kaiser all right that's pretty much the east st i80 carries right now we'll grab the estrel yeah you can pivot on to the likes of tristana now if you want to but still we have one of our confident champions here yeah really the case where did these compositions play out both astralis and mad lions really taking their time this drop really trying to figure out which direction they want to go and humanoid will get his hands on me yeah and here's the thing we kind of just settled upon it you can blind pikachu there's almost no bad matchups for carly at the moment the bad matchup she has is where she's getting pushed into the lane you lose priority and your team can suffer that way in sight length but when you hit that level six there's so many matchups where you just have that kill pressure and you can already see a stylistic of comp coming in from the mad lions it's once again all about that backline dive yeah get in the faces of your opponents um armored and humanoid expected to pilot the nocturne and akali respectively and we saw it used exceptionally well or at least a dive get in your face for misfits moments ago but it will give zanzara the option to first uh pick his jungler and it will be the rumble so that will be his first of the year and i want to see which direction our wants to take it yeah speaking of stylistic all right rumble right that means two double ad solo names lee sin being the first one we already have in uh asriel which means we can play for that weak side bot lane play for the top side of the map white knight has been pivotal on his lee sin in the last two games where he found insane insects to actually secure the pigs in these maps so i like the idea that they are acknowledging all right this is a solo lane kinda gay yeah definitely and that means armored and humanoid versus white knight and maggie felix will be the focus because all the champions are starting to be locked in magic felix what does he run into the akali good boy you just talked about how difficult it is to counter that champion and also just as a very quick note when white knight has played lee sin in his two previous games he has 22 damage share and 76 percent kill participation so hugely hugely involved i'm gonna jump into the bands obviously magic felix is being targeted to pronounce the twisted fate kazi is gonna lose access to that tristana yeah and here's the thing you talk about kind of counter matchups it's hard to find one we saw what leda tried to do our nuclear tried to do um earlier today with the silas as well which in the past has been one of these matchups but back then he had a spell shield it was a bit different when he eaten and i still think that for the likes of magi felix now we're talking about double ad i could clearly see him go for the jc or jase is one of those champions that can actually push out of carly in the early game akali can't really proc that five-point strike either so i think right now that's a pick you could look for as astralis and it would combo with the jace and the ezreal as well give you a little bit of that poke comp and open the question what promised you would want to run in that bottom lane tristana and kalista the two bands in phase two here for astralis kazi wanting to find something else as he's lost access to the varys and the kaiser as well as making it very clear if we're going to be focusing top we do not want to give kazi any champions that he can do what he did at msi and dominate yeah but i still feel like there's one champion open and that's the gin right here who's a great facilitator we've started to see this i think it was either the lpl lck doesn't matter but with this heavy background composition or backlight dive compositions it was only a matter of time before jin was going to go back into the meta he's usually just a guy sitting at the back line with the uh at the back of the team fight with the curtain called opening up the game now kazi has played this champion four times this year and he's only won once on that pick so he needs to look if he can increase those odds and it's not going to be the jace in the mid lane but it still kind of facilitates what you were talking about a little bit of control push the lane there's some poke power to it as well but corki into icarly so magic felix historically has been very known for his corki but i can't tell i can't remember if we've even seen a corki in any summer splits right here uh a champion that just came out of nowhere here for me really and yeah you do have that range that still plays into the akali match up you also have the queue and you can push it off but it's still a champion where you're waiting for a good amount of time before you really have that scaling but you can clearly see what they got from right here you have the fro front lines in the alistar in the lease in and then you get the heavy poke from an equalizer the ash roll and then jump in with the corki package as well there's still some team fighting tools you can make use of here yeah they are but they're very new ones and i feel like very difficult to execute on the astralis front you have to position correctly you have to dodge everything that mad lines throw at you and they've thrown a volley bear into the jungle now al joya played that three times at msi and went undefeated on the pick he also had a band against him a number of times he's played it 12 times this year and only lost twice but it fits into the style that we're seeing dominate the summer game so far jump in together and kill everything you can land on everyone has mobility to jump into the enemy team except the gin and that's perfectly fine because that's where he needs to be in the background with a deadly flourish or without curds and cold there's so many things this composition can do from the side of australia's you're looking for that mid game once again there's not a lot of early game pro activity here yes rumble can clear fast but what are you looking to facilitate yeah that's going to be the question i mean all signs point to these solo lanes all signs point to getting either that nocturne akali or lee sin corki ahead it's time for strongholds vs mad lions [Music] as we hit the rift on the third game here on sunday i did a quick check i cannot find any record of corki being played oh ec lcs lpl lck also for magic felix he's got 14 games played among his career 64 win ratio so definitely a lot of experience on that pick and i think when you zoom out and you look at these two compositions for astralis side i think they have to be very very coordinated in their team fights because if they get surprised if they are not able to use their disengage correctly well all of the dye from mad lions will just wipe them off the face of the map yeah and kind of in a different mental half a year ago i'd say all right this is stella from restaurants here great scaling it's going to be fine but this time around in this meta scaling can be made you need a lot of this early productivity to actually put yourself into a favorable position and of course mad lions they're the first ones to make a move here stepping into zanzara's jungle this is his first time on the rumble we'll see the ward taking a look at the rest of the lanes for the time being it does look like jessica left for a brief moment and promise q was able to at least pull the aggro so while we have a brief moment i just want to highlight the differences in the two teams play styles as we're preparing for today goldberg minute great analysis that madeline's early game is very strong plus 900 gold at 15 1.4 kda 15 as well they've got both all of the heralds in the games they've played in astralis on the other hand they fall behind early in the games they've played but they've come back to 2-0 yeah and the way they kind of done it is as soon as they open up the map when you get to like this 20-minute mark they starter excel start to excel at around their side lanes instead they put that bot lane into the mid lane they start getting the pressure there and try to crash onto their carries make no mistakes the carries for australia's are their solo laners in this instance and i'm beforehand they had their kali to play for they still had the lee sin but this time around with a cocky it's gonna take a bit of time before you really get to that point and i'm a bit scared for them for with mad lions you can already see they split the map here they're putting a lot of pressure onto the bot side and they're just looking to take away a lot here in the early game this minion wave is about to crash maggie felix is under pressure in the mid lane alyoya level three has the ability to dive this is a little risky considering the low level zen and blade will find a target the headbutt backwards pushes kaiser to safety technically promiscuous stays alive long enough the first part is picked up by kazi the teleport completes by white knights he's going to chase down at kazi who's got no summoner spells and this should end up being a one for one it is jessica that picks it up white knight is not going to chase for more yeah but that's the thing kaiser should even look to stop him he might give his life for this one yes but i mean look towards the top side white knight is losing so many resources on this tp first block went over to the side of matt and now look at this big wave he's missing it it's at least one and a half wave and of course there's no teleport no flash for white knight this is a concern for astralis when you think about how the draft played out and how these compositions actually kind of both of them really want to get their solo laners ahead so armoured with an early advantage already but the graphic we just saw whatever we just looked at highlighted that this is the trend that we have seen all weekend long mad lines were unable to pick up the win against g2 so they're one-on-one but astralis have been able to surprise everybody and have some very magical comebacks one of which you talked about earlier today was the sk infernal soul didn't matter but that was a okay that was we'll go back that was not in their control that was an elder drake steal i tried to look at statistics today i was like oh elder shrek statistic for australia's a hundred percent i was like oh that's great you know what that's just great you stole that one well it did it managed to you know it set them up you know so this time around astralis are going to have a much tougher task and we've talked about how mad lines are expected to be one of the elite four golden aldi pokemon reference there which people nowadays know pokemon don't throw that in there i i didn't play any of the newer ones only the original red blue and yellow or the ones that i played and i just once they added more often 151 is like nah not for me yeah i think that's bad not my thing but look the lanes are kind of reset now to normal and uh looking at the summoner spells there will be opportunities for ayoya or zanzara to take advantage of and as it stands mad lions with another push deep into astralis jungle they get some vision looks like they will try to challenge for some of those camps yeah because they should periodically have a lot of pressure onto the map humanoid needs to be a bit careful here that's a lot of support coming in sansara and promiscu available but the mobility from humanoid he's able to escape with his life and arya is now starting to steal away some of the resources that zen zara wants yeah and with this you talked about yourself he's just stealing it away um santara used his pressure in the mid lane there tried to get it and now he's just all right my wolf's camper gone so i guess my crop is for sure also it's just gonna be gone so i'm not even gonna bother with it i'm just gonna be clearing down to what's this spot side of the map can try and go for a play so what's the bot side here you can see there is a slow push pushing into the side of astralis but when you just take a look at a total of the entire map top lane still very much in ahmed's favor humanoid has just has just hit level six now and when volleyball hits that level six there's dive potential in multiple lanes for matt lyons of course this is one of el yoya's best champions he's shown such high proficiency um all year long and also has been very very highly praised young player coming to the league and then you just contrast that most experienced like one of his most played champions this year zanzara's first time rumble and i want to see what he can do but zanzar is one of the danger players on astralis has definitely had game changing impacts multiple times both on the rift and off the rift i think arguably one of the best interviewers maybe the best in actual fact uh now we'll need to see whether or not they can go 3-0 because the the standings at super week is not at all what we expected i mean it depends on what you define as a good interview right but yeah going into it again reset should be coming through for a lot of players now and we are looking onto like when are we getting these first mythic items because as i said myself we are hitting level six now now we need the items to come behind them and as soon as they come from matt here you can most certainly expect them to get aggressive with their yoyo i mean mad lions putting so much pressure onto this bottom lane oh you're at level five he shows his face once again jessica and promiscu they respect the potential they back away didn't see any vision signaling it but they were able to get away zanzara they're in the area and just for a brief moment celia is stealing away yet another camp this is not uh astralis jungle this is el yoya's you know backyard take a look at the damage coming out look at this promiscuous jessica just pushed so far back that fourth shot from jin not gonna be enough to pick up the kill just yet santa's blade will catch on to jessica before the arcane shift the curtains are called and that will be the first kill for cars he tags the third and the fourth shot onto promise q and zanzara two kills to one 1600 gold lead and another strong opening for them yeah it's just a great pickup they saw matchy felix tp on to the mid lane for the wave and humanoid was just like all right you're gonna tp for the wave i'm gonna tp for my team here instead that's exactly what they've done now this goes a little bit against some expectations right we thought maybe the uh nocturne or the akali might be getting some support and i want to explore some of the thought processes as to why but this was just really really well executed yeah it's just because they have the setup around it you can see it's just dominating his jungle now as we just talked about so they can go for this place without being too scared if they come out ahead great we soaked jessica away from a lot of pressure down in the spot side we even get a good setup for the drake should we go for it after the reset every single shot from that curtain call landed kazi also so close to level six he actually stopped in the middle of the skirmish killed a minion to hit level six and then landed the curtain call shot so he's two and one for the time being he's already got himself a bounty he's got a significant cs advantage ahmed's got an early lead in the top lane it hasn't ballooned but he hasn't also joined the fray and he's got teleport available whereas nobody on astralis does yeah and that's the thing so if skirmishes are to arise soon i mean armored can just paranoia and then tp himself speaking of our mood there's the engage white knight flash kick rock turn will throw down the paranoia the reverse damage is so high armor gets himself one in a 1v2 but he will get taken out by white knight yeah but you totally take that we just talked about it he does have that tp available i don't think he he's even going to use it elijah is coming up to this wave maybe not to kill white knight but just you know to hold the wave for armour doesn't actually get to it in time i mean so much damage from armored white knight and zanzar standing on top of that dusk bringer burst from the paranoia and zanzara just got insta gibbed where he stood mad lions again let's get another advantage in what was a play that just went awry from astralis yeah and that's the thing they went for the setup they went for the engage but they weren't ready for that knockdown damage and here you kind of see the large priority that a lot of teams had had onto this champion it's an excellent stable laning phase you get and it's just a lot of pressure onto side lanes later into the game and it also fits the current um play style trends we're noticing teams are picking up a lot of the winds are the proactive team starting the engages picking fights early and often but you know what trevor so far this is following this the stylistics we've talked about majority on it i mean matt lyons on paper should be the team that's getting ahead from what we've seen so far in this split and usually with astralis it's around this 20 minute mark we usually start to see something from them and for me what i want to see is just you know magic felix needs to have that same scaling humanoids trying to disrupt that oh my word promise q is going to get a head by the way equalizer comes up from zamzar to buy some time promise q gets turned into beef steak sanzara with a very early respect flash i do like seeing that recognizing how much trouble he's in but astralis they get the drake and goldberg i would like to highlight that yes astronauts have fallen behind against teams that are expected to be at the lower end of the standings but the average was 1.2 k right now that is a lot higher there goes the yeah yeah so much doubles he gets chunked out white knight that picks it up and stars may be able to close the gold gap kaiser's the next target and jessica is going to get body blocked from the curtain call sanzara eats a couple of those shots scrappy shield will keep him alive and just like that mad lions get punished for the invade flash oh cassie not going for it he'll still up for him oh now can white knight get another one he's still got the kick available taking a look at wards got the a trinkets it is there and there's the hit but the pulverize and qazi will be taken out so i'm gonna heal buys a second longer and white knight continues to look forward picks that one up okay so just as mad lions set themselves up for an exceptionally strong early game a string of mistakes or over-eager plays gets punished and that 1.2k gold lead is looking a lot closer right now it is looking a lot closer but it is fair to say that there are still waves pushing in as this play is happening here but hello yeah just with a bit of a greedy recall really he thought he could pull it off with the reptile recall only 44 seconds fails to jump over with the ultimate and by that point there's not much to do kaiser was just kind of put in a situation where he tried to help but not what she could realistically do that is so huge white knight has already shown how impactful his lee sin can be across the two previous games but it comes at the cost of every single plate and the top lane tower so ahmed is now 20 cs ahead he's got himself a level advantage and if we can take a look at the gold um it's it's going to equate actually only to a 500 gold because all five kills or in white knight's inventory yeah but even when you take a look at that remember how he got these kills he had to tp away from his lane to another side of the map and look at ahmed's goal he's actually ahead just because he he didn't have to go for these kills he got all the minion waves he got the plating so while uh white knight was on vacation now in the bottom lane ahmed was working his ass off up in that top side to get his own resources i don't think vacation is the right word i think it was a party in the box that got a little bit over the top but it is white knight that can have the uh you know huge impact throughout the course of the game because when you look at how these team compositions are gonna set up for team fights it's pretty easy to understand mad lion's composition you know look for the engage from either the volleyball the nocturna if anybody is singled out or caught out they get popped but for astralis they've got to dance around create zones with lee sin kick with alistar disengage use some of those tools to the best that they can you can see they're just clearing up the minion wave here they're gonna get the charger they are lurking around the area so astralis right now they can't actually step up they're too afraid of volleyball coming in with the ultimate but after some time they do disrupt it and they only get some play things with that rift hell arguably they do go to a yo-yo in a bit to humanoid so still of course you're happy with that but not the best drift tail we use we could have ever seen not the best but it's it's something that andy used to call a plate gank you know to a degree where ideally you're just looking for that goal because they got five in the top lane they've got three in the mid lane uh two in the bottom lane it's a three and a half thousand gold lead at 15 minutes and we haven't even seen humanoid getting involved in the fray and he's playing anakali which is something that is very heavily being debated right now pick band presence 76 percent it's got an 85 win ratio so six and one for the time being and he literally he tp once but the fight was over before he arrived and similarly with magi felix right i need to see the impact that both of these mid laners will have as we get to the next ocean dragon fighter as we get to those 20 minute skirmishes that you talk about yeah for sure but akali also once again one of these champions that's so hard to balance just because if you're a really good player in the right hand she's an absolute monster um and we kind of see that small buff was all that was needed to academy to bring it back onto the play especially in the meter where it's just about all this backline dive that we've talked about so much today already yeah and of course um if it's astralis initiating the fight white knight could jump onto kazi and zanzara could drop the equalizer on him depending on cause he's positioning he's got the gale force he's got the flash in the heel so with 20 seconds until the ocean pvo let's take a look at uh pushing lane's vision and the objective equalizer will give some time back here to astralis but mad lines are setting up for it yeah but you can clearly see who did that homework here it is matt lyons with the object or at least the pressure around the limbs all division then our own as we take a look at the map so many pink walls out on the map already all the vision isn't their presence they have tpod on armour they have the paranoia so he's ready to join the fray should a fright break out here but i don't expect it it is only the first straight for matt lyons yeah so there's still a lot of time if the soul is going to be the win condition but mad lyons trying to set up a little bit of a pinch here humanoid looking at white knight and promise q gets a lot of damage promise you still had the exhaust the ultimate the flash and mad lines brute force take the dragon with their wallet basically uh astralis not feeling the need to fight right now and honestly the risk is significantly higher for sure but i do want to point out the um the very old school term we would have said the power trough on some of these cam champions magic felix and jessica both stacking up their tears they've got their device sandra's but their power scales very effectively they're building the same look at that it's literally just divine darwin's tear boots and then there's just an extra refillable for matching felix what do you think about this corky pick and like seeing now the states of the game corki is going to be very difficult to pilot when you're so far behind and mad are gonna be jumping on you i still have to see the damage here because in the end like cocky is all about diving in as well after he sees the right opportunity i don't know if that opportunity is gonna arise if mad lions have this gold lead as they already have where they're able to just delete you before you're able to give a response so corki especially with new items coming through to me i've seen too little of him to actually just say herod congregation is going to package all over them he's going to clean the fight we'll have to see with the time what do you think about then magic felix as a player really good but i think magic felix i think corki you know last time when he was swapped in with astralis his first game was on the corki where he just shined immediately and do you think he'll be willing this game to dive in if kazi is presented as a target i mean he's gonna have to at some point right as we just saw in the previous game how if you don't look or try to create opportunities then the team that is making those plays gets so far ahead that there's like almost nothing that you can do i'm expecting the opportunity you set up here is going to be with the equalizer it's going to be with the israel folk it is going to be with the rocket poke that's what you're looking for you don't just want to engage to them when they're full hp you want to make um the fight more towards your side you want to get every percentage you can yeah storm bring is available not used threat of it alone is able to secure the second correction third tower there for the mad lions as it goes down in the bottom lane as well and i think if you are an australis fan and if you're hoping for the astralis 3-0 when you saw a little bit of over eagerness from mad lions where they stuck around had a cheeky recall it was very heavily punished i do think that astralis will need a little bit of misstep a little bit of an overreach or an absolutely mind-bending performance in the team fights ahmed's gonna dash forward tag the duskbringer but he gets the flash and he forces magi felix back yeah but you kind of see the entire map stayed right now trevor you take a look around it there's nothing that astralis has got going forward there's no pressure on top side there's no pressure in the middle lane and there's no pressure down towards the bottom all right they are trying to get something out of it though but it is optimistic very much indeed there was no tp ward to jump onto it now to be fair the equalizer is a relatively low cooldown and i think zanzar has been using it to farm up very frequently this game but astralis we're getting close to this magic time frame where in both previous games they've found the skirmishes or they've been able to punish their opponents it's just not looking very easy for them right that's the thing because in some of the previous exchange they've always had that perfect pick potential where they had at least one priority lane they could um introduce some resources into but this time around mad lines is making it so hard to them you can see they are quite desperate there's a reason why sansaro is throwing an equalizer down for that like that they're just looking for any pick that they can find and in turn what they're losing is a lot of their own jungle we just saw uh the entire red side jungle was just cleared out by mad lions who just took everything away from australia they got the rift out they got the turrets they're getting everything they want right now and they really are huge credits to alejoya for once again reading the state of the map despite the one overreach that got punished he's really held zamzara back and this this rumble has not had the level of impact that we have seen from other rumbles this weekend no for sure and the game is going to start getting interesting now we are nearing that 20 minute mark this about one minute for this drake as well that we could start stacking up but right now when we take a look at where the teams are postured you can clearly see the objective for matt is setting up vision around baron yeah definitely challenging that one astralis have already placed all of those wards and it feels like after matt have got some defensive wards around baron make sure that there's no cheeky plays i'm gonna group up push down into the jungle so they've pressured their lanes as you talked about and now they're setting up the vision for the drake yeah but here's the thing as astralis right now i don't think you give a damn about this drake it's only the second infernal drake you take a look onto your inventory you haven't finished your maramana for magic felix or jessica yet those are key components if you want to be able to take a fight so right now the goal for australia should be all right we just want to disrupt any barren potential that could come out for mad lions up until we have our items and i don't think mad lines are the kind of team that traditionally like rush a risky baron so that's a control ward that's just outside the pit giving them all the information that they need magic felix will dive forward with the package and with the help of zanzara they pick up their sixth kill and this is what astralis does finally priority in one lane no flash onto r but of course he did not into it yes they get the drake but astralis they already do they were never gonna get this inferno and this is what you talked about as well is that the uh corki package is one additional tool that can jump you onto the back lines one that i overlooked during the draft phase and if magi feels can keep finding those opportunities while matt is still playing this like slow and controlled game maybe maybe maybe that's how they pull themselves back in here but again just look at the itemization differences it's like two completed items for most of the carries on mad lions versus one and a half right so magic figs and jessica they still need a lot of time and uh i don't know i don't know if mad will give it to them but they currently have been picked off and that gold lead is still stuck at 5k it's been there for about six minutes yeah it really has so that's the thing they stayed okay they're not staying even but they've made sure they didn't fall more behind than they already were but as you said yourself two items already through from the side of map lines you look at the big power spikes that's come through and at any given point before astralis reaches this it wouldn't surprise me if we threw priority in lanes again just saw yolia start the ultimate dive a turret and just make sure you can clean it um clear up some of these key components or clean kio key players on to the side off australis oh man this is just so interesting because uh if it wasn't for the fact that both wins oh here we go from restaurants we're modeled like this really just expect mad lions to run away now remember the game time for australia's as well it's just about disrupting the baron they don't need to take it but they need to make sure they can't get this it's not super fast right now only two members on it astralis are fully aware muramana is emerging felix's inventory true shot barrage will reveal this baron down below fifty percent hit points humanoid will be able to jump into promiscu they haven't checked just yet the equalizer is just outside the pit paranoia goes all the way forward onto magic felix who has no flash available the exhaust does so much work but it's not enough just yet mad lions find two kills and strollers fell too far behind there's a with the help of kazi to pick off another this setup was so good for mad lions again they had multiple members on multiple fronts and astralis the fact they didn't check that bush the fact that humanoid was allowed access to the backline the only damage you had here was matchy felix and he fell instantly his flash was seconds away from being available that was a fantastic setup fantastic just wanted someone please no disaster really and as soon as they get the vision onto him yeah it could disengage by throwing armor away but reality is it it's just about humanoid once again on an akali pig yeah i was holding my breath when humanoid got exhausted but when you look at the hp bars below half a year below half for the team to arrive that's here fourth that's gonna be another one here to jessica that's the ace as well mad lions putting on a master class in team fights yeah they were just stuck in the pick there was nothing for them to do and then in the end armored with the tether one where he was just killing and one where the tether was on to just a really beautiful dawn great multitasking very very good game plan here from mad lions they put pressure in the bottom lane the teleports from astronauts ended up hurting them and mad lions will look to end the win streak from astralis they're taking out the two nexus turrets turn their attention to the nexus as humanoid may be able to just burst down zanzara escapes for now not too long enough though as the bird takes him out mad lions take down astralis first first true tests against the elite four as you said this time too much of a gap yeah this is what happens you can go around the usual trainers just looking around the grass but when you get up to that elite tower you gotta be ready and this time around mad lions early game productivity we talked about it astralis just not able to find their leverage back into the game around the mid game with so much talk about the junglers this summer especially the roll swaps when you see el yoyo you see the impact that he has in a game like this as he's had all year long it is definitely gonna be somebody that you have to try figure out how do you stop him because the only real lead advantage astralis got was when al joya stuck around in the jungle too long yeah that's the thing so they're good at punishing plays you got to give that to him but but in the end you know it was just matte lines there's too many priority lanes there's nothing for australis in this one it didn't work out at to lec summary mad lions go two and one here in the super week after they defeat australis and i have kaiser with me to talk about the week and the victory as a whole thank you very much for joining me kaiser hello hey so this game this game was strange because it was close in terms of kill but it was like not even clones in terms of macro you had all the fights so what did you think about astralis this game the composition they chose and the way they put up with the fights i mean i think the composition they chose was like picture perfect arthritis right now i think they they chose like lee sin which uh white lines is performing really well on right like they first picked the ezreal which also happened in their last uh i think one game or like uh i think and uh yeah i think we just knew what they wanted to do and we knew what to do to counter them for example we picked the knockdown which is like a pretty good early game matchup like we had i think three winning lanes except maybe for the akali which is like fine into cocky early right cocky's not going to do much in the early games so we just had like a stronger jungle as well so we could bot lane we we kind of picked all the tools we needed to snowball the early game and they couldn't really do anything after the mid game because yeah their champions are not really that useful like they didn't really have that much engage and uh yeah we could just choke them out by taking all their jungle camps and then starting and finishing the game i agree step by step a really clean game from you guys and i do want to mention the meta because you were talking about ezreal nocturne lee sin all these power picks that we've seen have you been surprised by any means by the meta so far in the nbc i mean the only surprise i would say is like how broke nakali is right now i feel like nothing really changed with akali but somehow like everyone is just completely stomping with it right like i'm not sure what changed i think that's like the only surprise pick maybe i think like all the other picks like ven being op vigo like being sometimes picked you know like nocturne being broken lee sin being still broken rumbles being broken like all these picks are kind of staples and like uh with the divine thunder above to ezreal like uh we kind of expected this as well uh but uh yeah i think the meta right now is like kind of obvious to us uh like uh what what like you you should pick like you should pick a lot of like bruisers like a lot of assassins like uh no more like scaling to late game right like you just you just want to fight every objective every single scuttle and i think that's kind of the matter right now and uh yeah i think that's looking to be the matter in the future as well yeah and when you think of my lions you seem to have a good grasp of of how the game should be played right now which is interesting because when talking to matt he told me that you have less scream and less training that the that one you should have got because of msi of course you need it to rest so when it comes to the way you've been training the games you had on stage does everything play to the expectations you had i mean i think we were expecting a bit more in from our side uh in in the in the led in the first weeks because like of course like we only had like three screen days i think uh we didn't really know the meta too well like we just wanted to uh we were just planning to draft for comfort right like the the leona the kaiser nothing really changed in what line right but uh i think it just favored us that nothing or like not that much change and we could just like fix our uh problems i guess with a few bands for example we didn't know what gwen does we didn't know what vehicle does right so we we kind of like after the g2 game we kind of look more at those kind of champions and look more like what they are strong at what they're weak at and uh i think uh that was kind of uh like our problem against g2 that we didn't really know like what to do but what to expect from this champion so uh for sure it like beat us uh like in in the back a bit uh but that we like had to play msi that we had to like scream later right but uh i think uh overall i think our level is still pretty high and i think we can still compete with the top teams i agree with you and they
