My first company was TCS Tata Consultancy services What is the starting salary that one can expect at a senior software engineer level? Any one thing that you like the most. Salary! The Food! G-cabs! Pixel 7 pro! I love the work culture and there's this positive environment. How much can someone expect if they want to come into this field? In total, I think I've done around LeetCode + GeeksForGeeks would be around 400-500. I was also a master at CodeForces. So, how was the interview process - how did you get into Google? How is your work-life balance at Amazon? Yeah, I think its manageable but I would say its.... So, today we're going to Google and Amazon Office & we'll be asking people - how they got hired? How many LeetCode questions they did? What is the one thing they love about their company? And we'll be asking them lot of other fun questions. So, let's jump into the video. So, before starting the video do like the video, subscribe to the channel and comment your dream company and let's start the video. Hi, can you please introduce yourself? I'm Akshay. I'm part of the Google Cloud. I joined 3 months back. Got it! So, like how did you get into Google? Which one was your first company actually? Yeah! So, my first company was TCS. Tata Consultancy Services I started with service based company. Got it! And this was back in 2007 and its been sort of 14-15 years now. Google was always the dream company. Yeah! *Nice!* And the dream came true 3 months back. *Nice!* That's amazing! So, how did that happen? How did Google..... Yeah! So, the Google recruiter reached out to me and he made me go through this initial screening rounds and then the on-site. And then, you know the big long Google Process. Right! A lot of time! Yeah! Great! So, did you do a lot of LeetCode questions like when you were applying to Google or how was the process, how is it different from a fresher for a senior position? Right! So, I think from what I know - the fresher to senior position mainly, the difference is in the coding rounds that you give. Okay! So, as a fresher I think its only the coding rounds that you've to clear. So, for me there were additional rounds which is system design round. Okay! And the behavioral rounds are probably common for both fresher and senior. So, you joined at L5 or L6? L5 L5 Got it! So, there're LLD, HLD rounds as well. *Correct!* Correct! And the coding is a little bit focused on the maintainability, extensibility part as well. Apart from just solving the problems. Got it! So, if you're comfortable with - what's the salary range that someone can expect at a senior software level? Not Google, like in General because you must've applied to multiple right! *places!* In general, I think SSC, I mean - it varies a lot because startups give you lot of cash. And companies..... but total comp............. not the base. Yeah! I think it varies big time. Probably it starts from, I don't know, 60 lakhs or whatever to yeah--- *crores!* Yeah! So! Got it! It was nice to meet you. Same here! *Thank you so much!* Thank you! So, can you please introduce yourself? Yeah! Myself, Ankit and I'm born and brought up from Mumbai. So, I'm working in Amazon since 1.5 years. So! So, how did you get into Amazon? So, I'm from Sardar Patel College which is in Mumbai. So, it doesn't come to our campus directly. So, there was this pool campus hiring so, I got in from there. Got it! So, means what was the process of Pool campus hiring, basically? We had 2 coding rounds and after that we had 3 rounds So, it was based on leadership principles, DSA and all the basic questions. Yeah! Got it! So, didn't you do any internship before that? Yupp! I interned at 2 startups - one was Work India and I've also interned at JP Morgan, so okay! Got it! So, which team are you currently in? What exactly your team does? OKay! So, I'm basically in registration & verification team. So, in that the sellers that sell products on Amazon their bank account verification is what we own. Okay! Got it! Interesting! What is the one thing that you love about Amazon, like you have spent 1.5 years here, any such thing that you like the most. Okay, Honestly! Salary, would be the first thing that I love the most. And if you had to ask me which is the 2nd thing, it would be the team. Got it! Perfect! So, for your level like, what is the salary range that one can expect not exact amount but, tell me about the range. In Amazon? In Amazon. So, CTC can be a little misleading but it is between 35-45 lakhs. Got it! So, how much is it for 1 year - I guess there's a 4 year thing..!!! Yes! I mean stocks splits up but you didn't think about it much! I didn't think about it much! I saw a big figure and we entered. So, one suggestion to your younger self, if you're back in your 1st or 2nd year of college when you were preparing or studying what will that suggestion be? Okay! So, 1st and 2nd year right! So, I think at that time people start focusing on doing jobs, DSA. I would suggest that explore your life, do what you like. For me, I wish I should've done beatbox and sketching little bit more. Because now I get a little less time, so yupp! Great! Fine - Thank you so much! Thank you! Can you please introduce yourself? Yeah! I'm Dhara and I'm working at Google. Yeah! *Okay!* So, which college are you from? I'm from Nirma University, Ahmedabad. I'm Anushka. I'm from Kaman's college of Engineering for Women, Pune. And I'm working as a SWE at Google. So, like what are you graduated from? How did you apply to Google? How did you get in? Yeah! I graduated in 2023 & the recruiter approached me so, in the interview basically, I had 3 interviews. Like a 45 minutes interview and in 2 rounds of interview the further one is - where you're asked like, 15 Googliness questions and all. Okay! So, there were total 4 rounds. No! There were 3 rounds only. 2 were DSA and 1 were Googliness. One was like, DSA + Googliness! And what about you? Yeah! So, I was contacted by our recruiter at Google. And then, I was scheduled with 3 interview rounds. So, for all the 3 interview rounds, they were of something around 60 minutes. The 1st 45 minutes was DSA based and the later 15 minutes part was kind of an HR round type. Googliness! Yeah! Googliness! Got it! So, what is the one thing that you love about Google. Work culture! Yeah! I love the work culture and the there's this positive environment here, yeah! people are very helping and we love working here. Did you like intern anywhere before Google? Yeah! I had an intern in Morgan Stanley, mumbai. Yeah! And I interned at Microsoft. So, how was your experience at those companies? My internshop experience was good. It was virtual. And yeah! Okay! It was virtual. Yeah! Mine was in office - yeah, that was also great! Nice! So, if you've to give one advice to someone who's currently in 1st or 2nd year and if they want to crack Google, Amazon, Microsoft, any company what Advise will you give? Like, you've to do the CP unless without doing that you can't like crack the coding rounds and all. You must've to do CP. I'll say, Data structures and Algorithms is one of the most important things. And basic structure like, Computer networks and OOPS and all of that. is important & they must keep looking at the opportunities out there for them. So, they must be updated without this..... Got it! So, both of you applied on the portal or the recruiter directly reached out to you. So, in my case I did apply for many programs at Google like, there's this Scholarship for a back student, so for all of those things and they were hackathons and all so, I kept applying for all of those opportunities. And I don't know how, but they contacted me through my LinkedIn. So, you just have to keep applying to Google in some or the other way and one day they will contact you. Thank you so much! So, if you're someone who's preparing for MANG, FAANG companies and you want to learn Data structures and Algorrithms so, do check out AlgoPrep.in currently, we're running our cohort 2.0 in which we'll be teaching you from basics of Java to hard level DSA questions & along with it OSDBMS, OOPS, etc. So, you can check out the launch video for more details. So, if you're someone who wants to switch for SDE 2, SDE 3 roles & want to learn HLD & LLD, we also have another batch for system design who is being taught by Google engineering manager. You can definitely check out that too. All the links are in the description & let's get back to the video now. So, can you please introduce yourself? Yeah, my name is Shekar Parikh. And I'm recently in Google & I've almost 8 years of experience but 1.5 years in Google. Okay! So, as in when did you join? In September 2021. Got it! So, how exactly someone can become a network engineer? As we've not heard much about it yeah! Actually, for being a network engineer you've to be string fundamentals of TCP IP. Okay! And there're multiple courses from CISCO like CCNA, CCLP. So, the basic step would be start from CCNA. Okay! And then go for fundamentals. Got it! So, can you tell the salary range of a network engineer? Like, how much someone can expect if they want to come into this field. So, the range is something - it cannot not exactly in Google, like in general I would say its not up to the software engineer like but yeah but you'll have a good pay if you've skills. Got it! They depend upon your skills actually. Got it! Got it! So, one suggestion for your younger self like, if you were in college right now or if you just started your first job. What was your 1st job actually? I was a network engineer but I was working not on the upper levels. But on the lower levels of TCPIP. *Okay!* Yeah! So, suggestion would be to work on the fundamentals, always go to the depth whatever you're trying to do. Okay! Got it! Nice to meet you! Thank you so much! Thank you! So, please introduce yourself. So, Hi! I'm Arhan from NCUT Delhi & I've joined Google 2 months back. Okay! And what about you? So, I'm Amisha & I also joined 2 months back and I graduated from IIIT, DELHI. Okay! So, like how was the interview process exactly & like, what type of, how many rounds were there, can you tell about that? So, there were 3 rounds & primarily they asked about DSA 7 about Behavioral things. How many LeetCode questions did you do? So, in total I think I've done around LeetCode + GeeksForGeek would be around 400-500. Like, did you guys do competitive programming or development or open source which one I've done competitive programming. And what about you? Yeah! I haven't done much CP like, basically LeetCode and GeeksforGeeks. Okay! So, did you do open source, did you make some projects like what did you do apart from LeetCode in college. Yeah! So, I made some projects and I think one thing that helped stand out my resume was internships. Okay! So, where all did you intern before Google. So, I interned at Flipkart and Microsoft. Tell us something about you that you did in college, apart from LeetCode and CP. So, I interned at Microsoft. I was also a master at CodeForces. Oh! That's amazing! Great! So, what is the one thing that you love about Google? So, for me it'll be the FOOD. Because the food is very very tasty. And for me its the google culture. Okay! It feels scripted but its not. So can you please introduce yourself? Hi, I'm Sneha & I joined Google 6 months ago. Okay Hello, I'm Yukti and I'm also aNoogler. I joined 3 months back. Hi, I'm Vikas. I joined 2 months back. Okay! So, which branch are you all from? Like! I'm from IT. IT! Computer science! Instrumentation. So, you were Non- computer science, non-electrical branch. Yes! So, how was the interview process, how did you get into Google? Like, generally, Google doesn't allow. That's the myth that - Google allows only IT, COE, ECE. So, how did that happen? Google allows - it allows everyone to give the test, but it doesn't prefer non-CE in interviews but if your interview goes well and they're fascinated, then you're considered. Okay! So, how many LeetCode questions did you do, like how much practice did you do to get into Google? So, I did around 700 questions on LeetCode & 600-700 on GFG as well. And did you intern somewhere before Google? Yeah! I've interned at a startup called - Power Plus at Gurugram. Okay! And what about you? Yeah! I also interned at Google only last year. You got a PPO? Yeah! I got a PPO. So, how exactly to get a PPO? Like, if someone is interning at any company so what two tips would you give to them so that they can get a PPO. Yeah! So, the 2 tips I would give is - one is that, take all your task seriously and complete them. Its not that you're just an intern so you maybe getting small tasks, but you're getting judged on that only. So, take them seriously. And 2nd don't take a lot of pressure. Okay! Do your best. Great! And what about you, did you intern somewhere? Yeah! So, I was also somewhere an intern at google. And I also got a return offer. Got it! So, what is that one thing that you love about Google. I think Google takes care of its employees, it pampers them a lot. You get many facilities like you've G-cabs, you've free Gym. Cafeterias are very awesome. So, yeah! I think I can speak on and on for the facilities. Got it! And you wanted to tell something? Yeah! Pixel 7 pro. 8 pro is also coming. Yeah! Maybe next year when it gets refreshed. Nice! And what about you? What do you like about Google? Mostly, I like Food and the flexible working hours. Like you can come at anytime, 10 am or 11 am no one will judge you. And you can leave whenever you want, they don't care about your working hours, they don't monitor it anywhere. Got it! Great, yaar! Thank you so much! Yeah! *Thank you!* Thank you! So, Hi! Can you please introduce yourself? Yeah! I'm Ayush & I'm working for Payments team at Amazon. Okay! How many years do you spend working in Amazon? Its been 1 and a half year. 1 and a half year. What does your team work for here? So our team, whenever a customer purchases a product, then when they go for payment, we count that and maintain that. Got it! Okay! So, how is your work life balance in Amazon? Yeah! I think its manageable but I would say...... Its a too... company toll I expect that your manager doesn't watch the video. But, fine! And I've a question that if you were in your first year of college again Yeah! So, what will be one suggestion for your younger self? I think one suggestion that I wanted to give to - I think consistency is the key. Whenever you started giving contest and all those things sometimes I feel like I was not able to solve those questions contest, I gave the contest but we're not able to solve those questions so, sometime I gave away like okay, I'm not doing this well & all those thing so, at that time, maybe some people like leave those things and - these kind of things happened with me also. So, I think consistency is important, so even if you're not able to solve the questions just try to spend some hours for the questions. I think that'll be helpful for... Got it! So, total how many LeetCode Questions did you do? I think around 350+ 350+ and apart from this, did you do in any other platforms? Yeah! On Codeforces, I've done. Got it! And I used to give contests. Got it! Fine! Thank you! Okay! Thank you!
