hi I'm Kayla that's a cool guy and today we're gonna do some vacuuming so the supplies you'll need to do a vacuuming at any pool are right here this is a vinyl back head and they might not all look like this but they generally are triangular or otherwise not rectangular shapes and the main feature are these brushes um basically they keep the suction which comes out here like a few inches off the liner so that it doesn't suck the liner up so this is for a vinyl liner pool um it's generally gentler and then this is the gunite or fiberglass head and what this is sign for is closer contact it's got higher suction it's it's better for vacuuming but if you use this on a vinyl liner these wheels could damage the liner it could cut the liner and this could actually suck up the liner and cause it to move around and just be general not good that is a vacuum hose and you're gonna need one of these if you want to vacuum because vacuuming is actually exactly what it sounds like you take the suction which is usually from the skimmer here and takes water off the top of pool and then you put it through the hose to the bottom of the pool to suck the debris off the bottom and then you're going to need your pool Pole with the standard head so you can plug that into your back head so the first step to vacuuming is to prime the host and that means to fill the hose with water the pool that I have here is a fiberglass pool so I'll use the fiberglass or cannae head the vinyl head I could also use the vinyl head you can use a vinyl head on that if you don't have a concrete or fiberglass head but this is more effective at this job so step one is to add the head onto your pole which is just a quick little cookie and then I usually keep my hoses nice and coils with a bungee cord or one of those twist those foam twist tie of things I like to keep it organized because otherwise everywhere and it's really annoying there are two tips to your pool hose they might not be different colors but generally there's one that will swivel and one that won't swivel so you wanna use the swiveling one on your head so you can turn it around without issues so you're gonna go ahead and just kind of press that on over there and it'll go right on top and then what you want to do is after you make sure it's securely fastened just put it in the pool we're going to fill the entire hose with water before we put it in the skimmer that way the pump never sucks in any air because that generally is not a good thing so I make the pool I usually make the pole pretty long I put the back head all the way down to the bottom of the pool I just rest there sometimes it'll start to walk away on you so you kind of want to keep it here now Prime the hose you want to feed it straight down into the water that way water can flow into it freely like this I'm always eating straight down that way water fills the entire thing now I'm gonna hold the vacuum in the other hand because it wants to walk away on me other sometimes you can just prop it up against something figure out something else but if your hose is coiled you're gonna get these little loops and you're gonna want to like twist backwards like that so you can feed straight down and you want to keep feeding keep feeding and essentially do the entire hose and as you get down to the back you should see a specific thing to happen at the head of the hose which is the important thing and what you want to see happen is water to flow right out of the top here it should kind of verbal out just like that that means the entire hose is full of water in your set so once you got that kind of put your put your backing down if you let your back and fall into the water you're gonna have to get it which is kind of annoying so you call that method now you open your skimmer and you got your skimmer basket this smart person would take it out first but I'm obviously not smart so uh-huh so now that you have your completely submerged hose you're gonna want to grab it you're gonna put your hand over it so the water doesn't flow back so air doesn't flow until you put it in there so now you have a prime toes and the skimmer and if you look to the bottom of the skimmer it's sort of hard because there's a little bit of current going on here but there are two dark spots one of them is a hole and the other one is a plug hole so there could be two holes in the earth but only one of them is going to have section so the way to tell really is to just kind of stick your hand down there and feel carefully which hole is pulling water down into it and which bowl is enough and you're gonna go to the pole-sitter to the hole that is actually sucking water down and you want to put the head of the hose near it and it should sort of immediately adhere and start sucking and then the pool is now being vacuumed all the section that was going through the skimmer is now on the bottom of the pool and you can get it FBC here we have a little bit of dirt in the on the ledge there and we're just gonna swing this around real quick and it will a little if we kind of agitate it a little bit get it flowing the dirt will be gone that has been vacuumed up and it will go up to the filter now once you're done vacuuming which I'm not but for video purposes we'll do this now we will go up to the equipment and if the equipment it's important that you know the cartridge that cleans the water had to go through right this object but essentially when you're done you're going to want to backwash or you
