[Music] you will always be influenced by what you see it should be something that makes you comfortable if you were to ask yourself what do i find attractive as opposed to what do you find attractive or what do they find attractive i think the question to ask is what do you find attractive it'll do you a lot of good to find out what is your taste and that is something that will go far in in defining who you are to yourself hi this is abhidhyal and you're watching me on asian paints where the heart is welcome to my home [Music] even back then 10 11 years ago i i know this neighborhood really well i've been coming here for 20 years so yeah i knew it was a perfect spot [Music] like how often would that happen where your search ends with the first property first plot you see it's a plot in the middle of a forest and i really wanted to basically bring the environment into the house so it is essentially a glass house in a forest more than just the interior space of the house you kind of feel the exterior space of where the house is more than anything else [Music] welcome to my home this is my hall where i entertain guests this clearly is huge much bigger than i would probably want now i thought i wanted a big space with high ceilings and you know minimal dressing up it's still a great space to entertain people it's still got a great view of the forest in front and people love the sense they get once they end over here it's just a lot of freedom a lot of nature a lot of green and some unique pieces of furniture to sit on and look at one of the feelings that people get when they enter this space is it just opens up the environment around them so my uh brief to my architects was i don't want any windows i just want opening doors you know of glass and ceiling so high that if i'm standing and looking at a person i don't even see the ceiling that's how high i want it it's been an adventure building this house and i like adventure in life i'd like to collect unique pieces and i'd like to fill up my immediate environment with something to look at with something to design with something to play with i've deliberately kept the base foundational material basic you know i have black granite on the floor in some places dark wood and others there are some walls i want to paint some walls that have been painted in shades of blue it's a space where i would like to be comfortable where i would like to be myself where i can just sit down and relax entertain people let them have an experience now this is within the context of my home but even in life you want to have new experiences you want to meet new people and have fun and so i think building the house and living a life are one and the same because while building a house you're also creating memories you're also establishing something that says something about you and life is like that the way you live says a lot about you i like to have bulletproof coffee basically coffee with ghee or butter so it's kind of like a healthy coffee i guess you could say there's still the caffeine in it but i enjoyed [Music] i'm not one to cook a lot but it's not that i have not and i don't cook there's a certain joy to cooking you know it's almost meditative and i'm just around coming to that point where i enjoy it not just for myself but to cook for others too i think that's the next step when i have the confidence of making something nice i guess as a result of being able to make a living out of being creative it became a way of being whether it is building a house or doing a meditation or a yoga class i find that i'm always creating there's never a moment where i'm not there's no point in resisting change it's crucial that you are aware of the changes that are taking over you because you can change for the better and you can change for the worse i would say embrace change it's part of evolution there's nothing wrong in trying to dress up your environment to represent that change i always try and keep my environment reflective of who i am it's just because i'm comfortable that way i'm not trying too hard to please anyone at the end of the day you have to accept the fact that this is your home you're in it most of the time and so it should please you and it should please you in ways that help you evolve don't forget to like share and subscribe you're watching me on asian paints where the heart is welcome to my home
