all without troubling your silky smooth palms but is the $19 Robo twist the future of Jar enforcement let's find out slicing this bad boy open were presented with the Robo twist itself and a set of hefty instructions but this thing seems pretty straightforward so let's dive right in and see what we've got here glancing at the top there's a battery compartment on the end a single power button with an N on it and a couple warning stickers about touching the parts while it's in use taking a peek at the undercarriage of the bot you'll see where the motor will turn the gear twisting the mechanism and activating that GI Joe kungfu grip when the Robo twist caresses down upon a jar that's when you'll find its true value able to open anything from 1.2 inches in diameter all the way up to 3.5 inches it can be applied to mostly anything you've got on hand testing it out on an olive jar proved to be light worked for the burly robot but what if we really twist it on there utilizing some channel locks we put an iron grip on this jar of pickled jalapenos but even then the Robo twist prevailed proving that our feeble human tools will not stand up against it's awesome power truthfully this thing really did a number on just about everything we threw at it whether it was something as small and rigid as a plastic portable barbecue sauce container or something as resilient as a mason jar one of the only problems we had with the Robo twist is that we had hoped they had the ability to tighten tops back on as well oh and there is this one thing due to the fact that we didn't really study the instruction manual well if you take a close look you'll see that it specifically notes that this is not intended to be used on plastic jars when the outer arms grip the exterior of the more pliable plastic bottle the device didn't sense the resistance and continued to close this of course snapped off one of the arms in the process so in quick summary the Robo twist is a surprisingly useful device to have around provided you take a moment to read the directions and use it for its intended purposes but it's also a great tool for anyone that gets discomfort while opening stuck containers next one they hit the can is the Handy can opener fro claiming to open all cans as easy as 1-2-3 this thing cuts right beneath the lid of any sized cannon as a powerful magnet which secures the lid so it doesn't fall onto the ground or into your lentils after mangling the product wrapping to remove our opener well that's it the can opener itself actually started ringing like a phone so I answered it and had a great chat with oblivion it's got a power button on the top and a retractable blade magnet and gear on the bottom there's also a compartment to put the batteries in but those aren't included to kick it off we tried this guy on a delicious can of cold brew coffee just place the can opener over the top of the cannon press the button press the button hold on what's the deal here luckily we've got another can opener on hand to try so let's give our trusty paladin Silas a show yep not the straightest cut but hey it's 2018 no big deal okay back to the featured product the handy pro we realized that the motor will not engage if the magnet isn't fully activated since the aluminum can didn't draw the magnet down the motor didn't turn on we fix this with a simple hack dropping a washer atop the magnet ring itself which hold it down and allow the device to run as usual with our magnet in tow we grabbed a delicious can of our favorite Los Angeles sparkling water la pantry partner for us opening our hand-tighten mason jar of spaghetti sauce was right back in the robos wheelhouse and we're pretty happy with the results however our last test on this stabby jar of salsa proved just a bit too much for the Robo twist and lost his arm again considering the fact that this product is in direct competition with some of the most useful products of all time it's made
