yes yes yes well folks that's all the time we have for today that's all welcome back pottery folks sorry to keep you waiting let's go unload that kiln and see what we got inside I guess this is so exciting for me because I'm testing out a new clay body and I wasn't sure how the glazes was going to react but it looks pretty good this clay body it's a porcelain so the color looks good and no crazy issues no bubbles in the glaze nothing it all looks pretty good so let's go ahead and unload this get out of the mission on that or so you can see how those nice lines come out really nice and crisp and clear so that's that mission my process that you saw in last video turns out really good ooh this is another test I like this one so this is testing what black glaze would look like next to the narwhal so kind of like that it's a cool-looking little pot I'm digging that little test looks like the black needs to be on a little thicker this glaze right here is neodymium and it looks purple right now but it changes different colors in different lights so I'm glad to see this works on the new clay looks nice and good there it's our erbium glaze it's a nice pink nice pink glaze it's a rare-earth metal [Music] I don't know what that is yes this is what I'm talking about for depth look at this glaze you can see all the different layers here so cool we got the blue streaking into the green they overlap you can see it's starting to grow some crystals that's what I'm after this is what I like good firing for sure let's get all these unloaded oh here we go we got our narwhal and this is what I was talking about it's streaking and this is that neodymium glaze and it will change colors and different lights this is an example of that neodymium you can see it going from blue to purple and then back to blue and then back to purple again the difference is here then the purple is an incandescent light and the blue is under fluorescent light under LED light usually it's even more of a purple light it's really cool stuff and you can really spend a lot of time having fun with it it's kind of pricey but it's definitely worth it so check some out neodymium you can get it from us pigment yes yes yes this is also that neodymium purple can turn from blue to purple all different colors very cool stuff yes pumped up alright let's unload these we got our shark that gray where we mix the celadon perfect [Applause] there we go there's that box will they come off let's see hopefully that hydrate did its job a lot of times you can get in here with a felling knife there we go nice and turquoise inside I'd say that's a winner got our Bowl here sea turtle Bowl nice foot spoon rests more spoon rests [Music] look at that Narwhal you can really get a good look at that yes see the swirls inside uh-huh swirl this is my crazy little process here right behind me I have my art walk set up it's actually a cart that I made that I pull behind my bicycle just because it's really hard to find parking or walk and it's just really fun way to do it and I have everything spread out on the floor here and what I do is I try to pack my display so it's a little bit tight but it still looks good and then that's all I bring I don't bring any extra because it just becomes a lot to bring and to bring home and I want to keep Art Walk fun for me so I pack it so it looks good and just a couple more pots in then that's all I bring okay what we got here these are most of the pots from the last firing you can see them all there and I've sanded the bottoms and they got price tags on them and then I put them in these boxes such a when I learned this this is such a good tip so you make these you just cut some cardboard or you can get something from the wine store and you just plop right in there and it makes packing it really easy so you can see I have all of my extra pots lined out on the floor right in front of my cart and I just decide what I'm gonna bring and I just try to keep a good variety and keep it fresh every month I have a lot of bowls that I probably won't bring lots of sets of bowls I love this shape right here this is one of my favorite shapes to make just a really nice shape to eat off of it got a nice style that foot there anyway got a lot of stuff I'm gonna have to decide what to bring I want to get a variety of stuff here's the actual cart so it's got bicycle wheels and little trailer hitch fits there and all those blue Tupperware bins they all fit inside the disk cabinet here and it makes everything really easy to pull down our walk and yeah just keeps it really fun it's got some cool lights in the wheels it's just a lot of good time you know it's good good good fun anyway I gotta like make it so it looks good I'm gonna try to get some taller pieces up here maybe you have a little bit too many mugs right now so I'm gonna try to change it up a little bit and get some good pots there's that nice turtle turtle jar I'm gonna try breaking a seashell see how that does anyway I just try to keep it fun one of the things to consider is lighting so it's an outdoor event you need to have lights and so I've kind of rigged up this light here this is a light for like lighting up a palm tree and I want him you know I made this card about three years ago and it was kind of just like what I could do at the time you know - you know with school being busy and everything like that so but I have this some new lights that I got and then they're reading lamp so I think I'm gonna hook up I think I'm gonna make all new shelves but you definitely consider lighting one of the things that's really cool about lighting in porcelain is that like this is right here I think my favorite mug that I'm bearing to bring along tomorrow I just love this mug I think the form is really good I like the handle and I like the way the drips are dripping really good like that but you can show off to customers how amazing porcelain is look at how translucent this stuff is it's just incredibly translucent and if you don't have a light like that how do it then you know and yeah it's at nighttime how are you gonna show off the feature of porcelain look how translucent you put your fingers inside there and you can see your fingers wiggling around so they can really get to appreciate how beautiful this porcelain is that they're purchasing now translucent it is let's take a bowl here even some of these bowls that are a little thicker you can see how you can see right through them there's my fingers there and so it really shows up the translucency just adds a little value to your pots you know you can show how that you're using really high quality materials that you know are pretty cool so I try to bring along a shell to see how that does and really like this pot right here maybe try to make some more things like that alright folks sorry I did not get a chance to take any pictures at Art Walk it was an absolutely gorgeous night in Atlantic Beach for Art Walk it was just incredibly beautiful I'm gonna try to take the video camera out next month next month should be really good it'll be December all the lights will be on the trees it'll be nice and dark and you can really see the beauty of Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach at nighttime hopefully you enjoyed this thank you so much for watching don't forget to leave a comment leave a like and
