Art Room Update | Unboxing Upcrate and Scrawlrbox Subscription Boxes

hello and welcome to a new video today i'm just going to give you a little update on my art room um i've just got a new desk from ikea so i'm absolutely delighted with it um on nick's right on it straight away as soon as you notice something new there he is sleeping on the desk so today i'm going to be opening um a upgrade box so this is my very first upgrade at subscription box and um yes i'll just subscribe to that and i've also got let's turn this around and a scrawlrbox it's an older scroller box though because i was looking at the past boxes and some of them got some quite decent stuff in so i've ordered a couple of the older boxes and this is one of them um so i'm going to open that as well in this video so just a quick give you a little just a little tour of me i am it still isn't quite finished so this is the doorway when you come in um i need to paint i need to redecorate if you can see the walls of the the pretty bar they need another layer of white paint and then the doors this door here was behind my wardrobe for years and years and as you can see the white paint is like all yellow so that nade's done so just all i need to do is paint really and then everything's finished so you so you come in this door here and then in this door i've got um all my art supplies in here so this is a handy storage cupboard it's absolutely jam-packed bit of a mess at the bottom because that's just kind of stuff that i've got nowhere for it to go [Music] and then i've got the art tray the cart with just some things on that i've got no room for in the drawers and then this one here this is for packing my orders my um paint orders so that's just got all kinds of stuff in for that okay so and then this is my desk um i've got this board for just for filament so i've got a variety of backgrounds it's got a different um it's got a different design on the other side so then i can either have the white desk or the wood design or the colored wood design [Music] and i've got my ipad there so that i can actually watch television while i'm doing art or watch youtube videos and stuff and this is just stuff that i use quite regular pens and stuff and if i'm in the middle of coloring something i can like separate like if you can see there's different pencils if i'm um got a few pencils out of a set i'll like keep them together in these little sections and then i've also got one of them things there where you put pencils in they're so handy they really really are and that's my camera and then that's my light that's for filament videos and then this is my um bookshelf so i've got them all in a rainbow order which is quite nice and the bookshelves were if anybody has watched the last video i wasn't putting the bookshelves on that world but i've ended up changing them and then i've got my computer desk in the corner which is pretty much a tip it's always a tip it's not really very tidy i've got my printers underneath so that's that and then on here i've got my cubes on this wall i've got this lovely mat on the floor um yes there's all sorts of stuff in there this stuff this stuff here is just junk i need to take it off i just got nowhere for it right now but there's my cricket at the back so my cricket is going to be sitting on there then i've got this with this little shelf thing with paper i've got one of them calendars and just some decorative books there and then on this wall this has got absolutely nothing at all to do with uh this is my wardrobe because my bedroom is so small i cannot fit this wardrobe in it so i've got this wardrobe unfortunately if i didn't have to put this in here i would have so much more room um and then there's my back to the doorway again and obviously that needs painted as well okay so i just want to give you a little update it's more or less finished these are all my little succulents do seem to be doing quite well um okay so i'll unbox these boxes now okay so i'll start with the upgrade one which is quite exciting because this is the first one i've received so i decided to order this because i've canceled the palette full packs one because it was coming all the way from america and it was costing such a lot of money i was having to pay like a higher shipping rate because it was international and i was also paying and custom fees and then also royal mail would add another like nine pound on top and they said that was their handling fee so it was just custom fashion much to be honest with you so i've cancelled that one and i thought i'll get some other ones instead so i've signed back up to scroll a box again and i've signed up to this upgrade and i've also signed up to the artful one which is a three month one so all you know them three add up to the same amount that i was paying for the palatal packs so it makes more sense because i've got more to open for videos and i'll and also get more um supplies for my money after i signed up for this and subscribed and paid i got an email a few days later from the owners of this box asking if they'd like to send me them to unbox on my channel and i'll talk about bad time and i've already subscribed and paid so i just emailed them and i said i've already subscribed and then i think it's probably better anyhow if i just pay for it myself because it's just i don't know i just think it's better if i pay for it myself because i i think that what i've realized having a channel and like sometimes you get free art supplies i mean it's brilliant and it's exciting because companies offer to send you art supplies but it it's not that i tell lies about whether i like them or not if i didn't like something i would just wouldn't put it on the channel but i don't think p you can't prove that you're not telling nice and i i think people the viewer i think viewers generally feel that people aren't telling the truth when they review products that they've got for free so i'd rather just pay for it myself and then it's it's just easier isn't it um i mean i do obviously make a little bit of money from running the channel um i get a bit back from youtube every month and i just spend it on art supplies for other channels so okay so we've got um this little envelope first of all i think that might oh that might have been the content so i'll try not to look at that then we've got a postcard unbox your creativity that looks like a little sticker a little upgrade sticker okay i think that's about like the like the challenge of the battle it says but it's talking about the supplies so i don't want to spoil the surprise and then there's another little upgrade sticker which is cute and almost there i do like that transparent envelope it's really nice okay quite a lot in this so we've got acrylic paint in titanium white oh and it's sennelier which is a high quality brand and then we've also got one in chinese blue that looks really nice it's a lovely like tail color dark tail exciting then we've got another sennelier product it's like an acrylic pen or it's like a kind of a tube that you squeeze it out oh you squeeze it out yeah that looks nice so that one is magenta deep magenta then we've got a ko i know hardmouth pencil in a b and we've got three paint brushes three round paint brushes the synthetic there's one absolutely tiny one that's a size three zero we've got a zero and we've got a number four and this looks really cute i don't know why i see everything looks cute i'm sick of saying in that word i need to stop it three little parts likely little mixing pots so that's very good and we've got a little piece of wood obviously to do a pin on saw i'm really pleased with this box i love getting paints in subscription boxes i really do oh there's more there's more there's another wooden palette to do a painting on which is brilliant and [Music] we've got a beautiful art print that is gorgeous by nicola caina and she's a mixed media artist from the ukraine so that's all information about her and then we've got like a little pamphlet um oh it's about the acrylic paint about the snelly air pants so it's giving you information on more colors that you can get in there so it's called abstract innovate innovative acrylic by sennelier so i'm wondering if it's like a new product that they brought out and they've got it in the pen they've got it in the packet and they've got it in the ink bottles this one i didn't realize is actually a postcard on the back this wooden thing so you would paint on this side it's a postcard and it's actually magnetic as well it's got a little magnet on it so that's brilliant open this now this scroll box so it's an old one i think it's about two months from about two months ago and then i should get this one scroll a box as well because i've subscribed to it okay so materials out first so i've watched a few videos of people unboxing this and i really like the look of what was in so it's liquid pencil which i have had before um in this a box years ago i think it was the art and parcel box with these like three different colors there's a gray blue and yellow so they're all gray but this got like a yellow tint a blue tint and then this one's just gray and it's like re-wettable as well um there's another pencil dark wash sketching pencil and it's at 8b so that'll be really really dark um and a 4b medium wash so i'm presuming i think these are obviously water soluble as well and then there's a scrawlrbox paintbrush number 10 and it's air flat and we've got an eraser and it's a core eye door eraser and a little sweet and a little scrawlrbox sticker which is cute and then in the box we've got the scroll is in so this is the first time i've received the scrollers in because when i used to be subscribed it didn't have that um absolutely beautiful print that is gorgeous that is so nice and a pad of paper so it's watercolor called pressed paper by claire fontaine and there's eight sheets in it that's brilliant scrawlrbox has always been really good value for money i find you really do get your money's worth yeah really pleased with both boxes okay so now i'm gonna try and do some artwork with them okay so i'm going to try and do an acrylic painting okay i need you to watch it in there anyhow so it doesn't matter but i'm not going to use these little pots because i know i'll leave the paint too long and it'll dry on the pots so i'm just going to i've made my own um stay wet palette so and i've just got some water these are absolutely brilliant for keeping your acrylic paint dry if you don't already know i know these are like quite well known these make your own palette so it's just a plain tray i built some water on there by accident which doesn't matter because i need water in it so i've got i'll just let this water pour off it should be absolutely fine so i've got tissue paper and then you put water on your tissue paper so you get that nice and wet and then we've got a sheet of grease proof paper it's also called parchment paper if you live in the usa and it just creates a damp surface the kitchen towel so long as that's still wet underneath and you can keep it by every so often just pulling it up and spraying some water on with a spray bottle so you keep that tissue paper wet your acrylic paint that won't like dry up so there isn't many colors it would have been nice to have a yellow because then i would have been able to make some green so so we've got this tail color so just keep that on its own in the corner plenty of white out and we've got magenta so i'll squeeze some of this out [Music] okay so i've managed to make up these different shades it's not really huge variety but i'm going to try and make something with them so i found myself in tears every day when you feel you wanted more suddenly you're on the floor and i left my heart with you there is nothing else to do i would like to have it back it's broken and far from intact and as dangerous as it is [Music] [Music] here comes the complications and now we're slowly fading i know what's on your mind but now it's time to [Music] [Music] i'll be there if you [Music] [Music] we're [Music] as it is [Music] there's nothing [Music] like to please along [Music] in the right direction here comes the complications and now we're slowly [Applause] [Music] there's nothing new [Music] is you want me back i'd love to find i think that i'm going to hiding somewhere by a gay [Music] uh [Music] [Music] trust me [Music] okay so that's my pattern finished i do like the dark pink bits which are kind of like three dimensional and i hope it dries that way so i think what i'm going to do is i'm going to scan this and i'm actually going to use this as a wrapper for my little handmade paints because i wrap them all individually in little patterned papers so i'm always looking for you know nice little patterned papers so when i do that if this looks nice i'm probably going to make more of these okay so i've made a little wrapper with my pattern and i'm quite pleased with it i think it looks really nice so i'm going to wrap this paint up this is my newest paint it's called stardust and it's absolutely amazing yes i'm really pleased with how that turned out i think it looks really cute and i'm probably gonna try and make some more patterns and normally use patterned papers that i purchased but i might do a lot more of these patterns i think it looks really good here we go oh it looks so nice yeah really delighted with that okay so i'm not gonna do the scroller box um materials i'll probably keep that for another video because this video is going to end up being too long but i'll try these out and i'll upload that in a separate video at some point oh yeah and i just wanted to show you the um the paint once it dried it was yeah it remained like three-dimensional if you can see the pink bits which is good [Music] you
