hello all my name is krishnak and welcome to my youtube channel so guys today in this particular video we are going to discuss about resignation versus appraisal please make sure that you watch this video till the end because i'm going to put a lot of points over here a lot of funny points i'm telling you which applies for both resignation and appraisal and why i'm making this particular video is this video is for everyone guys whether you're a fresher experienced person you may be a manager you may be a director you may be also a person who is running a company you know and this is specifically for all the employees out there you know and i'll tell you why many people look for multiple job offers even though they have one or two jobs why do they look for it why do people usually resign as quick as possible you know and all these things so let's go to the appraisal thing okay now suppose i am a developer working in a company i have toilet i've worked hard for 12 13 hours every day delivered a project in time you know and then finally i go for an appraisal you know then what happens over there in the appraisal itself when i say like i require at least 10 to 15 percent high because this is what i have actually done but what happens from the opposite side from the manager's side what they do is that they tell you positive skills they tell your negative things too and the negative things are usually more than your positivity that is what i have actually seen from my experience okay you're not able to handle this you're not able to handle that you lacked in this you lacked in that and yes obviously they'll be telling positive type positive points also but most of the negative points will be coming over there usually in appraisal okay this is what i have actually seen guys and i feel this usually happens with most of the people i have my friends everyone who is working in the industry itself and obviously i haven't worked to complete 10 years of experience in iit industry i have seen a lot of them now at that point of time you know because of that negative points you know probably the promotion is cancelled probably hike is not given that much probably hike usually happens a lot very less you know and trust me because of that hike okay now okay fine the hike is very very less now what they do is that the employee gets frustrated the person gets frustrated okay i'm working for 12 to 13 hours i've learned so much thing and that is the main reason why people resign you know the the person who's not toiling hard who's not working hard he'll definitely not resign because he's also not learning much things over there the person who's working really hard who's giving his 120 he's giving his 130 percent he will be learning more and more skills and then he'll get confident that if my company is not able to give me good hike obviously i'll go and leave it and that is the point where resignation comes into picture now when the person is actually resigning then what is the company the offer what is the offer that the company gives okay please don't go you are a really good amazing team player you know you will do this you'll do that you know and probably uh you're going to do this and finally they'll say that okay in order to stop you from going should we give you promotion should we give you around 15 20 hike you know so this is the thing and this probably i was not that much interested in my first company but when i went to my second company you know i started seeing these specific things and then that really made up my mind that the only way to increase the salary within a company is either to either to give up your paper like do the resignation part and then you go and ask them okay if i want to stay over here i will probably require this much hike right otherwise you know you directly go and jump the company just imagine guys in one of the company i'll tell you and this is the saddest part guys in resignation we can demand as much as we can because anyhow we have a specific offer right we have a specific offer but this should not happen like this you know in the appraisal time the company the manager should take that appreciation part of the candidate yes if you have worked hard you know you deserve this the manager the product manager the team the entire head of the team you know he should he or she should fight for you this is the thing but i don't see this thing actually happening so that is the reason why people resign and then they demand that i want an on-site travel i want a promotion i want a twenty percent higher thirty percent right anyhow if you're switching to a company minimum 30 to 40 percent hike will be there right so what i'm actually trying to say over here is that what people actually require specifically with respect to resignation versus appraisal if and obviously the manager will know the manager will get all the feedbacks you know yes he or she has actually done well you know in one in some of the times you know what happens is that some some candidate will not get good um in the appraisal they'll get a lot of negative points and after that when they resign it then the manager will ask okay you require promotion you require this much uh salary or hike so this is the thing do you require that right so this is the thing guys that that that entire time this this entire things needs to be changed instead of focusing after the person is doing a resignation you should actually focus on the appraisal part try to motivate that candidate when whatever work he has actually done try to give more genuine feedback try to make sure that this feedback cycle is actually properly taken and try to fight for your team if if a team member has done really well trust me you should actually appreciate it if you're not appreciating that person he will resign understand for the person who has done already bad in a company who's not working in the company he'll definitely not switch because for him also to grow that skills it will take time right so this is a video that i really wanted to make i have seen this in my career if i talk about myself in my one of my companies i resigned three times and every time i got somewhere in order to retain me they they gave me 15 hike every time and they also gave me an on-site travel so this is the thing i did to increase my salary and that time i understood the only way to increase my salary is either through resignation and switch to other companies or resign or stay in the same company but making sure that you ask hike and this is the truth of the world guys you cannot ignore it i've seen some of the people who have around seven to eight years in infosys and in in not only infosys in some of the companies you know where average hike every year is somewhere around four to five percent i think that will not be sufficient that is the reason why people uh change the company they resign it you know and obviously because now everybody needs to earn money there's so much uh inflation right this so cost everything has become costly nowadays right so this is the thing guys so please make sure that who are the team leaders who are doing this you know please make sure that appraise the people who have done well fight for them they will not leave your company you know if you don't fight for them if they have worked hard yes if there is a negative point tell them the negative point yeah but don't don't uh unnecessarily unnecessarily say more negative points and focus on that if they have done 70 to 80 60 to 70 percent of positive things with 30 of negative things like if they are lacking in something they'll definitely improve so fight for them if they are done well and that is the way how you can retain an employee in your organization you know if a person is done appreciate him appreciate that is the thing fight for him for his hike for his promotion for what he deserves right
