hey guys it's ray here and welcome back to my channel and welcome to anyone can draw this the series where I get a drawing break it down into simple steps to make sure that anyone can draw this so if you like these bubbles you like the cartoony style of the bubbles stay tuned and I will show you exactly how to draw this so the first thing you're going to need is some black paper which I got at Hobby Lobby for $4 and a mechanical pencil and some white acrylic paint also going to be using this janky candle to create a perfect circle because lord knows I won't be able to on my own I'm also going to be needing an eraser pencil for precise cleanup you can just use a regular eraser and of course colored pencils and if you guys want to see I'm using a super tiny little brush it's really important whenever you're drawing bubbles to use either pastel or neon because ultimately what it's going to be is light reflecting off of the surface and color reflecting off the surface so just really bright colors and the good thing about bubbles is that you can literally do any color that you want so if I'm using purple in this video use pink if I'm using green use blue like it's so fun to do these bubbles because there's not a preciseness to it at all alright so step number one I'm just going to trace a semi ok-ish circle using the bottom of my candle if you're worried about a piece of your art that's not perfect don't worry about it in the words of bob ross they're all just happy mistakes plus you got to make mistakes to get better all right cool so now that we have a circle I'm going to get a white prismacolor color tencel you can use any colored pencil I'm just going to try to sharpen it as thin as I can and from there all we're going to do is the most hardest step to pay real close attention we're just going to follow the circle [Music] the next step is totally optional and that is to draw a circle within the circle and you guys can truly see how that I am at drawing circles the truth will be revealed guys and basically what this is is a outline to help you find out your highlight placement and we are going to erase this bad boy here in a second so don't worry if it's not perfect this one is very much an optional step so now that I've spent like five minutes crying over a circle now I'm going to start with the basic shading and you can use any color you want like when I say any color I mean any color you want for the shading and when it comes to the shading I'm just going to do a really light wash on the outer halves did that sound a little complicated I'm going to show you guys exactly what I mean and it is okay to go inside that little circle that we just drew once I'm done with that yellow I'm going to go in with a really beautiful purple I mean pink I'm sorry guys I just woke up that's why I sound like a zombie but just go in with a really nice pink and don't be afraid to build it up if you want to add more color than do it if you want to add less and do it I've seen so many variations of this bubble drawing okay here's where it gets a little bit tricky but don't be afraid so what we are going to do now is to create the highlights and this is really really really important I would say for those bubble piece like more important than any of the shading okay so what I'm doing is I'm creating a rectangle shape that follows the circle that we drew on the inside so it's going to be like kind of rounded a rounded rectangle I'm also going to make it a gradient so it's going to start off really opaque and then as it tapers off it's going to get lighter and lighter this is totally optional if you want to do a straight-up rectangle that's fully opaque that's cool too when I draw bubbles I like to draw four of the rectangles so two on the inner smaller circle and then two on the outside of the smaller circle and I like to keep them opposite of each other and the reason I want to keep them opposite of each other is just to imply roundness next up in the game all I'm doing is adding some random streaks throughout the bubble and also some random dots and the reason I love doing bubbles is because it's so easy you can literally add as many or as little highlights as you want you don't have to follow my exact model you can do whatever you want and it's so nice to not have to worry about something being perfect and the best part is it's like no matter how much you add or don't add it's still going to look like a bubble at the end of the day also what I'm doing next and that is adding in some pink color to the bubble again you can use whatever color you want to make it as colorful as you want in fact I would like to see a rainbow bubble I think that would look really cool anyway so I'm just going to do the exact same routine of adding in random streaks just like I did with the white okay cool so now that we have a nice little layer of pink I'm going to add in another color in this case I'm going to be using blue and everything that is pure white except for the dots I'm going to be adding blue on top of that so now it's like a super vibrant blue I'm also going to be adding in some other colors to blend them out so it's not just like pink to blue it's like pink to purple to blue I'm also adding in some green and some dark colors just to kind of blend everything out and to make it look a little bit more smooth [Music] man I can't believe we are already almost done with this drawing how is fast when I do these it feels like it takes a long time but anyway so what I'm doing is getting my eraser pencil and I'm just going to be erasing out the areas that I want to be pure black I'm going to try to get it to look a little bit more circular because again you girl is not really good at drawing circle but that's alright and okay cool and we are ready to move on to the next step this next step just like brings everything to the next freaking level guys so what I'm doing is getting some white acrylic paint and all the areas that I want to be pure white I'm going to do a nice little pop of that paint and it just makes everything looks so good because now you have like a vibrant vibrant white and again it's totally optional but what I am going to be highlighting are the very opaque areas of the rectangle I'm going to be doing some of the white dots and just some random areas on the outside of the bubble and I'm sure if you're using paint you're also going to go through the problem of not having like a unison thickness when it comes to the outline and an easy way to get rid of that is I just got my eraser pencil and then just kind of flaked it off or I also got a darker colored pencil or a mechanical pencil and just kind of like camouflage some of the thickness to make it look a little bit more in unison with the rest don't worry guys I'm sure your drawing came out totally awesome and if you guys want to tag me on Instagram I would love to see your artwork and I'm going to show you guys my final results so here is the final color corrected piece I hope you guys enjoyed this video and if you guys want to tag me so I can see all your artwork you guys know where to find me anyway guys I love you and I will see you next video
