this calls my name i want to read this hello everyone welcome to this video where i'm going to talk about some of the most anticipated releases of 2022 i included a lot of books from different genres and i as usual will follow the chronological order in which they will be released i have a long list here there are a lot of books with amazing premises that makes me want to read them all where the drowned girls go is book seven in the wayward children's series by shannon mcguire these are stories of a boarding school for kids who come home from portal fantasy worlds and can adjust to their new ordinary lives then we have echoes and empires the first book in a duology of the same name by morgan rhodes the author of the fallen kingdom series we follow snarky 17 year old who must team up with an enigmatic criminal to cure herself of dangerous forbidden magic on the 11th we have daughter of the moon goddess the first book in the celestial kingdom duology and the cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous this is a debut fantasy inspired by the legend of the chinese moon goddess in which a young woman's quest to free her mother pits her against the most powerful immortal in the realm in january we have to paradise by hanya yanagihara the author of a leader life this is a novel spanning three centuries and three different versions of the american experiment in an alternate version of 1893 america new york is part of the free states where people may live and love whomever they please or so it seems this is a story about the desire to find a place in an earthly paradise and the gradual realization that it can't exist next we have nine lives by peter swanson he's the author of eight perfect murders and this is the story of nine strangers who receive a cryptic list with their names on it and then begin to die in highly unusual circumstances but on this list there is an fbi agent who is determined to find who's behind the murders on the 18th we have anatomy a love story by dana schwartz a gothic tale full of mystery and romance about a female surgeon and a resurrection man who sells body for a living and the varied secrets they must uncover together sounds lovely doesn't it it takes place in edinburgh in 1817 and strange men has been skulking around cemeteries their friends are disappearing off the streets and they have to work together to uncover the secrets buried not just in unmarked graves but in the very heart of edinburgh society on the 18th we have agatha woman book 3 in the akata witch trilogy by nerikura the hard lessons and abilities she learned are put to test here in a quest so dangerous and fantastical it could be madness to go but deadly not to with the help of her friends she embarks on a mission to find a precious object hidden deep in a magical realm next we have reminders of him by colin hoover after serving five years in prison for a trike mistake a woman returns to the town where it all went wrong hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter but the bridges she burned are proving impossible to reveal everyone in her daughter's life is determined to chat her out no matter how hard she tries but then she meets someone rest of the mage is the first book in a trilogy by scott drakeford this is an epic fantasy debut that follows emeril who wants nothing more than to test to be a weapons master his final exam will be a bloody insurrection staged by perhaps novels and priests that enslaves his brother and to rescue him aerial must embrace not only his ability as a warrior but also his place as lust of the ancient mage kings next we have running wild the third book in the simple wild series by k.a tucker being the first book the simple wild which i've been meaning to read for years because i've heard it takes place in alaska and that is beautifully written next we have dead silence by s.a barnes and stacy kate it is described as titanic meets the shining it is a science fiction horror novel in which a woman and her crew board a decade's last luxury cruiser and find the wreckage of a nightmare that hasn't ended yet a ghost chip a salvage crew unspeakable horse not gonna lie i love stories that take this in ghost chips i'm interested in pharaoh we have the woven kingdom book one in the new series of the same name by tehran mafi the author of the chatter miss series in which you are going to find clashing empires forbidding romans and a long forgotten queen destined to save her people this is a romantic truly inspired by persian mythology next we have age of ash book one in the kitthammer trilogy by daniel abraham author of the dagger and the coins series and co-author of the expanse series this is the first book in an epic fantasy trilogy that unfolds within the walls of a great city over the course of one year kitthammer is the center of trade and wealth an ancient city with a long bloody history and our main protagonist brother is murdered and she sets out to discover who killed him and why on the 15th we have house of sky and breath the second book in the crescent city series by sarah j maas i don't want to say the synopsis of this one because i feel it would spoil the first book all you need to know is that this is a sexy slash romantic fantasy series that takes place in a modern world where angels demons werewolf face etc coexist on the 22nd comes out scorpica book one in the five queendoms by grammar callister a centuries-long piece is chattered in this matriarchal society when a decade passes without a single girl being born and 500 years of peace between these kingdoms start to chatter the story follows a warrior king a healer a sorceress demigod and the generation of last born girl also on the 22nd we have the justice of kings the first book in the empire of the wolf by richard swan this is a new epic fantasy trilogy that follows the tale of cyril conrad an emperor's justice a detective judge and executioner all in one as he unravels a web of secrets and lies he discovers a plot that might destroy his order once and for all and bring down the entire empire we have a thriller called the paris apartment by the same author of the guest list the story follows our main character who is broke and alone and she just left her job and ended up crashing at her half-brother's apartment an apartment she doesn't know how he can afford then he disappears and every single neighbor is a suspect everyone knows something they're not telling in march we have gand by b schwab the secret guardian meets screens on pig in this standalone novel that follows a girl who comes home after spending many years living at a school for girls and when she's back in gallon she crosses a ruined wall entering into a different world where her father might be from all the horses of iceland by sarah tommy is a historical fantasy said to have gorgeous and unusual literary prose everyone knows of the horses of iceland wild and small and free but few have heard their story it tells the tales of a norse trader his travels through central asia and the ghastly magic that followed him home his search for riches will take him from hellgar to the steps of mongolia while he will barter for horses and return with much much more comes out eyes of the void book two in the final architecture trilogy by adrian tchaikovsky in the first book we have enhanced human fighting aliens but they succeed in destroying planet earth and then they disappear this is a book that i'm planning on reading next year and i'm very very excited for it circles infinite by kang one is a sci-fi novel that follows jess who is hunted by those who want to study his gravity powers trying to escape he gets involved with a crime boss who blackmails him into doing some dirty jobs for him next we have the book of cold cases by simone saint james the author of the sundang motel the premise of this one sounds awesome a true crime blogger interviews a woman acquitted of two cold case lanes in 1979 someone murders two men seemingly randomly with the same gun with strange notes left behind and a rich eccentric 20 year old woman was seen fleeing one of the crime scenes but she was acquitted and she retreated to the isolation of her mansion now in 2017 our main protagonist runs a true crime website called the book of cold cases and she asks the the eccentric woman who is now older for an interview they meet rarely at the mansion where items move when the blogger is not looking and she could swear she's seeing a small girl outside of the window i want to read this on the 15th we have the war of two queens book 4 in the blood and ash series by jennifer l armentrout she has announced that this series will now consist of six books in total this is a fantasy romance that takes place in a world with vampires werewolf and some creatures that look like zombies next we have the long game and novella by kj parker the protagonist of the story is an adept a member of an ecclesiastical order charged among other things with opposing a race of immaterial demons creatures capable of possessing and controlling human minds and things get complicated when our main character develops a cordial relationship with one of the demons in april we have the bladed faith book one in the bay green gods trilogy and the story follows a 12 year old when his guts were slaying his country invaded and his parents beheaded in front of him held prisoner in the invaders court for years he's suddenly given the chance to escape and claim his revenge when a mysterious group of revolutionaries come looking for a figurehead on the fifth we have hotel magnifique by emily j taylor and this is said to be for fans of caraval and the night circus the hotel is legendary not only for its whimsical enchantments but also for its ability to travel appearing in different destinations every single morning and two sisters interviewed to join the staff and quickly discovered their contracts are unbreakable and that beneath the marvel's glamour the hotel is hiding dangerous secrets also on the fifth we have sea of tranquility by emily saint john mandel the author of station 11 returns with a novel of art time love and plague that takes their reader from vancouver island in 1912 to a dark colony on the moon 300 years later unfurling a story of humanity across centuries and space next we have fevered star this is book two in the between earth and sky trilogy by rebecca ron horse the first book being black song received very good reviews when it was released in 2020 this series is inspired by the civilizations of the pre-colombian americas and moving into a tale of celestial prophecies political intrigues and forbidding magic next we have elektra by jennifer saint the same author of arianny and in this story we follow three women cassandra princess of troy clytemnestra the sister of helen and wife of agamemnum and elektra the youngest daughter of clytemnestra and ara magnum if you like real italians this is for you next is the girl and the moon the third installment in the book of the ice series by mark lawrence i love the cover of this book i think is my favorite of the three and also this month we have the hunger of the gods book two in the bloodstone saga by john wayne this series is set in a norse inspired world and packed with myth magic and bloody vengeance may we have book lovers by emily henry she already got me with that title the story follows nora who is a literary agent who goes on a trip to a little town after her sister convinces her and she encounters charlie there an editor she knows but she doesn't get along with and i think this has the enemy to love her strobe in it next is book of night by holly black it takes place in a world where shadows can be altered you can alter someone's feelings and memories but manipulating shadows has a cost it takes hours or days from your life our main protagonist is a low level kong artist working as a bartender while trying to distance herself from the powerful and dangerous underground world of shadow trading when a terrible figures from her past returns hell breaks for her next we have seasonal fears this is the sequel to middle game by shannon mcguire i can't tell you about the synopsis of this one because i want to read book one and i don't want to spray myself next we have 14 days an authorized gathering and this one sounds so cool it is set in the lower east side tournament in the early days of kobe 19 lockdowns and each character in this diverse eccentric cast of new york neighbors have been reading by a different author who are listed on the screen and there is no way on earth that i'm missing this book we also have all the c's of the world guy gabriel k brings us a story of vengeance power and love it follows a woman abducted by corsairs as a child and sold into years of servitude having escaped she's trying to chart her own course and is banned upon revenge the title and the cover of this book are beautiful i'll be getting a copy of this myself for sure in june we have juniper and thorne by eva reed the author of the wolf and the woodsman and she comes with a gothic horror retelling of the juniper tree set in another time and place within the world of the wolf and the woodsman where a young witch seeks to discover her identity and escape the domination of her wizard father in the chat of the lightning is the name of the first book in the glass immortal series by brian mcclellan he's the author of powdermage and he comes with a brand new epic fantasy where magic is a finite resource and is running out the story follows an outcast that fled a life of wealth and power abandoning his responsibilities as a general a governor and a son but when his mother is brutally murdered he must return from exile to claim his seat at the head of the family and uncover the truth that got her killed on the 21st we have locklands the conclusion to the founders trilogy by robert jackson bennett this is an anticipated release for a lot of people including myself i know my friend jesse must be thrilled the house across the lake by riley sager we found casey a recently widowed actress trying to escape a strike of bad press and she has retreated to the peace and quiet of her family's lake house in vermont armed with a pair of binoculars and several bottles of liquor she passes the time watching the glamorous mary cobble who live in the house across the lake one day she befriends the wife and then she suddenly vanishes and casey becomes consumed with finding out what happened to her we have another sequel called blade breaker which is book two in the realm breaker series by victoria xavier on the 12th we have how to sell a haunted house grady hendrix comes with a haunted house story that is said to be hilarious and terrifying that explores the way your past and your family can hunt you like nothing else next we have upgrade by blake crouch he's the author of dark matter and recursion and the story follows a swat agent that was infected on a mission with a virus that will modify his generic structure and while doctors expect him to get sick he only gets smarter this calls my name we also have the daughter of dr moreau by sylvia moreno garcia the author of mexican gothic and she comes with a dreamy reimagining of the island of dr moreau set against the backdrop of the 19th century mexico and i love that all her stories take place in mexico and this promises to be at least interesting the island of dr moreau is a science fiction novel by h.g wells about a man who was left on the island home of dr moreau a math scientist who creates human animal hybrids via vivi section i'm looking forward to seeing what sylvia moreno garcia did here the family remains is the sequel to the family upstairs by lisa jewell a woman stops at nothing to find her husband's murder in this psychological thriller about twisted marriages fractured families and deadly obsessions on august 9th we have fury song the conclusion to the epic trilogy that began with fireborn by rosaria munda i've heard great things about fireborn which is on my tbr on the 23rd we have babel or the necessity of violence an arcane history of the oxford translators revolution by arif quan the author of the puppy war that was a long title but the premise sounds terrific the story follows an orphan who has trained for years in different languages in preparation for the day he'll enroll in oxford university's prestigious royal institute of translation this institute is also known as babel which is the world's center of translation and more importantly of silver working which is the art of manifesting the meaning lost in translation through enchanted silver bars to magical effect silver working has made the british empire unparalleled in power and babel's research in foreign languages serve the empire's quest to colonize everything it encounters on october 13th we have silverborn the mystery of morrigan crowe book four in the nevermoor series by jessica thompson i've heard nothing but amazing things about this middle grade fantasy series and i'd like to read it someday next we have a new book by susanna clark called the cistern after reading piranesi and reading anything she writes there was no premise for this book yet on november 1st we have chain of thorns the third book in the last hour series by cassandra clare the last hour series is a new shadow hunter series set in 1903 and it deals with a new generation of hunters blood march is the sequel to legend born by tracy dion the main protagonist bee wanted to uncover the truth behind her mother's death so she infiltrated the lame-born order a secret society descended from king arthur's knight only to discover her own ancestral power and now she has become someone new next we have the odyssey book 4 in the stephen fry's great mythology series and it follows odysseus after he leaves the fallen city of troy and takes 10 long traumatic years battling monsters the temptations of goddesses and suffering the curse of poseidon to vayash home to his wife penelope on the island of ithaca i want to start this series this year i've heard the audiobooks are great but the physical books come with gorgeous illustrations so i don't want to miss them the following books don't have a specific date yet but it has been announced that they're going to be released in 2022 we have priest of crowns book four in the word for the rose throne series by peter mclean we have dread god which is book eleventh in the cradle series by will white the oleander sword book two in the burning kingdoms trilogy by tasha tsuri being the first book the jasmine throne the last medal book seven the mistborn saga by brandon sanderson three kisses one midnight is a halloween anthology by three amazing authors who will put on the screen we have nonna the ninth book three in the log tomb and we have witch king by martha wells and the author of the amber blade posted on twitter that he finished a rough draft of book number two in this series called the dark water legacy and this my friends are some of the new releases coming out in 2022 if i missed some books please let me know i love to have more books on my radar i hope you enjoyed this video and that it was
