I'm excited about tonight's subject and let's pray and then we will dive into for the questions that you submitted back in January and then we'll spend some time at the end of the Bible study answering new questions you might text in so let's pray together Lord we thank you for the opportunity now as we gather here together in your house to look at these things that you have revealed in Scripture and we we need the mind of Christ we need your wisdom to discern these things Lord and we thank you that you've given us a preview of things that are to come and so Lord we just pray that you would guide us and direct us as we do our best to look into your word and to understand what you have to say to us about things that are yet to come wars and rumors of wars political world leader who's going to come unto the scene possessed by Satan to direct world affairs tribulation that will come upon the earth and your glorious return the thousand-year reign after that Lord so much where we come just humbly before you and just ask Lord for you to speak to us through the pages of Scripture tonight it's a Jesus name that we pray and everyone said amen so for questions that were very similar a ridi right at the beginning what is the second coming and why is it so important I think it's a good place to start what is the rapture and then is the rapture relatively a new concept and then what is the difference between the rapture and the second coming so let me first draw your attention to this timeline which I have shown before in different studies that we've done through different books of the Bible some of the primary books that talk about the Second Coming are Daniel Isaiah Ezekiel Zechariah Matthew 24 Luke 21 in the book of Revelation and so kind of putting a lot of that together on a timeline that we can kind of look at and kind of understand a little bit about the the order of events it's important for us to understand the second coming of Christ because the Bible speaks so much about it there were over 300 prophecies and scriptures related to the first coming of Christ when he came into the world born of a virgin baby grew up to become our sacrifice on a cross right son of God God took on flesh dwelt among us his first coming over 300 prophecies in Scripture related to a second coming old a New Testament combined almost three times as many prophecies almost a thousand prophecies give or take related to a second coming so it's important an answer to this one question why is it important because the Bible has so much to say about it God wants to prepare us God wants us to be ready by the way I looted a moment ago in our my opening comments about some of the things out there you aren't to trust particularly those who try to put a date on a second coming and there's been a lot of false prophets in the world that have come and gone and put dates that didn't happen it's a dangerous thing to do that said Jesus did comment in Matthew 16 he talked about how the the religious leaders of his day they knew how to interpret the the the seasons and you know the the times of the seasons but he said you don't know how to interpret the signs of the times related to the bigger picture of his coming and so even though we are never to put a date on the second coming of Christ we are however to have an understanding of some of the signs of the times and we're living in a day this is a safe statement to make every day that passes we're getting closer to the imminent return of Christ okay that's a safe statement to make every single day but but we're seeing some things happening even in our day the Alliance that Russia is forming with Iran I mean we haven't seen that except in our lifetime ever and Ezekiel 38 prophesies about it it talks about Gog and may God being Russia it talks about Persia coming together with Gog and Magog to form an alliance against Israel up until 1935 Iran was called Persia so we know where these locations are biblically we're seeing alliances forming we're seeing even Russia involved with Iraq in some of their armament and so you're putting together a picture of what's happening in the Middle East and you're seeing some of these the Bible prophesied centuries ago particularly through Ezekiel but the second coming is a generic term for a few different events and first thing on the time that I just wanted to point out so we understand where we are in this time line Jesus rises from the dead after his crucifixion he rises from the dead and then for forty days he remains on the earth as tangible evidence of his resurrection but after forty days then Jesus ascends back into heaven where he currently is seated at the right hand of the Father and after Jesus ascends it begins the church age right here now we are presently in the church age which is described by the way in Revelation one two and three we're living in the time between the second coming of Christ and when he ascended okay this is the church age we're living in this time period right now but there will come a time when Jesus comes back in the clouds only not all the way to the earth to receive Christians to take us from the earth that's what the rapture is it is spoken of in first Thessalonians chapter four and particularly verse 16 the word rapture is not in the Bible but originally when the Bible was translated from Greek to Latin in the New Testament Jerome who translated in the Latin Vulgate used the word rob to swear in the Greek it was heart pazzo and it means the same thing to be seized to be snatched to be caught up and we get the English derivative rapture from that Latin word rob juice so it's in the Bible in 1st Thessalonians 4:16 in the Latin we just have an English derivation of the word and it's an incredible event and I spoke about this more extensively I'm not gonna spend a whole lot of time if you go back to the teaching library just a couple of months ago when we were in first Thessalonians chapter 4 I talked extensively about the rapture in a nutshell there's gonna be a trumpet sound from God and it talks about how Christians who have died will rise from the dead not that they are in the grave their spirits are already in heaven but their bodies rise so that they can get a glorified body that will be reunited with their spirits so the demmick we'll rise first after that we who are alive and remain Christians who were on earth at the time this trumpet is sounded will be snatched up will be raptured will be taken up to heaven so we could be with the Lord forever so that's the rapture and that event can happen anytime there's not there our play of other biblical prophecies still related to the second coming but there's not another event that has to happen before the rapture after the rapture now I'm presenting a pre-tribulation view here this is why I believe Scripture teaches that Jesus raptures us takes us before pre-tribulation because after the church is taken from the earth just physically snatched just removed just one day a bunch of people are here and the next moment a bunch of people are gone okay following that is seven years of tribulation now by the way on this little chart you know I have the arrow going raptured up and then tribulation starts we don't know what kind of the gap is between the rapture and when the tribulation starts you know don't be under the illusion that well when the church gets raptured tribulation starts immediately there's nothing in the Bible that says that what it just simply speaks of in the large preponderance of scriptures that the church is raptured before tribulation but the church might be raptured and the tribulation doesn't start for ten twenty thirty years afterwards we don't know when starting in Revelation six the unleashing of these cataclysmic events will happen on the earth but seven years of tribulation between revelation 6 and 18 speaks of earthquakes and asteroids and oceans turning to blood and vegetation dying and boils and hundred-pound hailstones and all kinds of things that are going to happen on the earth an upheaval like never seen never understood before and so there's going to be seven years of that at some point after the church is raptured then Jesus comes to the earth because at the end of the seven years of tribulation is this cataclysmic battle called the battle of Armageddon that happens there in Israel in the valley of Megiddo where nations will converge against Israel and against the God of Israel to make war and Jesus returns then to the earth and ends that battle of Armageddon and he establishes his throne then for a thousand years we're gonna get into that question in just a minute so when we talk about his second coming that's kind of a broad term that actually means two events the first part of Jesus Second Coming is only in the clouds when he calls the church to come up to heaven he doesn't come all the way to the earth it's a snatching of the church to keep us safe in heaven for the duration of the tribulation then he comes to the earth and Zechariah chapter 14 talks about this that he comes specifically the Mount of Olives which was what the angel said in acts when the disciples watched Jesus ascend the angel said why do you men stare into heaven this same Jesus returned again to the place where he has come where he was taken from and Jesus comes Ecker I 14 back to the Mount of Olives and and physically comes back to the earth the Saints come with him that were in heaven and then there's a thousand-year reign so I'm not gonna answer every question that long but I just wanted to give the whole overview to that and why is it important look first John chapter 3 verse 3 says everyone who has this hope purifies himself the imminent return of Jesus Christ should motivate us to holy living because Jesus is coming again so Christians should be living their lives in sober awareness of his imminent return it should motivate us to holy living it is important because jesus also said watch be watching in Matthew 24:42 he said therefore keep watch because you don't know on what day your Lord will come now the other part of one of those questions is is it a relatively new concept it actually isn't I pulled out some historical references Origen who wrote in the 2nd 3rd century AD he talks about the rapture a guy by the name of Rou finis aquellia in the 4th century AD he writes about it Augustine in the 4th century AD he writes about it so it's not a new concept but honestly we've just given it more tension because of like how Lindsay and Tim LaHaye and a lot of others who have written about it him and so it's more you know something that has gotten more attention all right another question what is the Antichrist and who is it I have some opinions about the second question but I won't share it's not appropriate and it's probably wrong but I just like to think in my mind sometimes when I'm watching different political leaders I wonder if that's the Antichrist that's what I think to myself what is the Antichrist okay I have some slides for that too let me I'll come back to this timeline but let me share a few things with you so that you you can just have a quick overview the Antichrist has different titles throughout the Bible he's called man of lawlessness and second Thessalonians 2 he's called the man doomed to destruction he's called the Antichrist first John 2 he's called the foolish and worthless Shepherd in Zechariah 11 he's called the beast in Revelation 11:2 20 he there's a lot written about him in Revelation 13 in particular he's called a ruler in Daniel 9:26 and he's called the abomination that causes desolation in Daniel 9:27 and Jesus quotes from Daniel 9:27 in in Matthew 24:15 and and then as far as his tactics go here's a quick summary of what he's going to be about he will be a charismatic political world leader who will be given dictatorial powers by a 10 nation confederation to rule the world for three and a half years so what revelation talks about is that we are heading towards a one-world government like it or not the Bible predicts that it will happen I don't know that we will be here for it because I think when you look at revelation Church gets taken from the earth in Revelation chapter 4 but you do see references throughout Revelation of the world heading to a one-world government it will be divided into different territories or different regions and there will be a representative from each region who will form this council but the Bible talks about how the council will turn all of its power over to one of the rulers among them who will be the Antichrist some political world leader maybes on the scene now maybe not maybes in the shadows maybe's prominent in politics or in government we don't know but this particular individual will end up having dictatorial leadership over the whole world number two as far as this tactics go the Bible says that he will oppose God he will proclaim himself to be God and he'll demand to be worshipped and he will kill those who refuse to do so which leads into another question we'll get to in a minute about the mark of the beast also number three he will gather the nation's together against Israel for the Battle of Armageddon that's revelation 16 and 17 so he's the world leader that brings everybody together to do that and number four and I know I'm going fast through this but for the sake of time trying to answer as many questions you'll be able to go back and look on this archived on our website and pause me but number four he will be overthrown by Jesus at the Lord's second coming and cast into the lake of fire so that's a little bit about who he is so we don't know who this person is but he will come under the world scene be very light be very diplomatic be be the one to be able to get world religions together under one big banner and but in the middle of this he's gonna make it Daniel says he's gonna make a covenant of peace with Israel for seven years but in the middle of it he's going to proclaim himself to be Messiah and unfortunately the the Jews today who believe that Jesus that Yeshua is Messiah they're gonna be taken in the rapture and Jews like others will still be able to get saved during the tribulation who were left behind Jews and Gentiles alike but for those who are left behind many will think that Antichrist is actually Messiah and many will put their hope and their confidence in him only to be duped and later when he proclaims himself to be God sets himself up on the wing of a temple in Jerusalem to be worshipped and then the eyes will be opened so that's a quick overview of the Antichrist what is the mark of the beast is a question there are seven seven references to the mark of the beast in the book of Revelation it speaks of some some kind of insignia mark you know I know it in our tech world it might be a chip on either the right hand or the forehead and you can't buy or sell without it so it's a way for the Antichrist to control world economies you have to worship the Antichrist who's known as the Beast out of the sea in Revelation 13 you have you'll be forced to if you're left behind if you if you don't go up with the rapture okay you'll be forced to worship Him and in order to buy or sell you'll be forced to take the mark which is some kind of mark insignia or chip on your the right hand or your forehead in order to buy or sell so it's a it's a way for Antichrist to control world economies now I I was in the line at Safeway I don't know a few months ago and this lady in front of me was stumbling through her purse trying to find her wallet and stuff and and she couldn't find it and so she just kind of remarked she just kind of remarked out loud I don't think she was like making a biblical reference but she just said you know what be easy is so I just had some kind of chip like on my forehead and you could scan me and the cashier went yeah that would be really cool I was like no whoa no it won't they don't understand why I was so alarmed what I had to explain it but anyway all right another question what is the millennial reign and then these are several questions together does the Bible speak about what life will be like after the tribulation during the thousand years that Christ will rule on the earth will we have to work else a question and will people still be able to get saved in the millennial reign okay so again millennial reign what we're talking about can let's see I need you guys can somebody go back no that's all right I tell you what I'm gonna just put up this we'll go here and then and then I'll put it up I got the timeline after this so let me talk first about the Millennial Kingdom Millennial Kingdom will be a period of a thousand years when Jesus will rule from Jerusalem on earth and when you look at Isaiah 11 and Isaiah 65 it talks about a time of peace longevity prosperity and security now when Jesus is ruling literally ruling from Jerusalem there's going to be a time of peace because the Prince of Peace is ruling right so the world is going to be completely different you talk about one-world government but it'll be a wonderful one-world government when Jesus is on the throne in Jerusalem and in Christ now has been overthrown okay and Antichrist and false prophet thrown in the lake of fire Satan is bound for these thousand years yet fortunately he's going to get released for a short time after the Millennial Kingdom after that period for just for a season then he's going to be thrown into the lake of fire with the Antichrist and the false prophet but when Jesus comes and rules for those thousand years you're gonna have Satan bound doesn't mean there won't be any sin because people's flesh will still give way to sin even though Satan won't be around to influence us in an extra way and and Jesus is going to be ruling so you're gonna have all kinds of peace around the world it you're also gonna have longevity Isaiah chapter 65 turn it up pull it up real quick Isaiah 65 says never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days or an old man who does not live out his years he who dies that a hundred will be thought a mere youth he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered a curse so it talks about people will live long lives it'll be time of economic prosperity and it'll be time of great security now here's a little misnomer that many people go around quoting it does not say anywhere in the Bible that the lion will lie down with the lamb people quote that all the time it does paint a picture of that but it actually tells us in Isaiah 11 and Isaiah 65 the wolf will lie down with the lamb it's the wolf that devours lambs not a lion in particular the wolves go after the Lambs what it is speaking of is that in that day it talks about how little kids will be able to play under the deck and they won't get bitten by bit by serpents and it talked about the wolf lying down with the lamb what it means is that during the millennial period for that thousand years so I'm gonna go back to the timeline now during this thousand year period between when Jesus comes again to the earth Abbas's kingdom for a thousand years every wild animal will become tame and mankind will be able to coexist peacefully with the animal kingdom like it originally was it wasn't until Genesis chapter 9 when the flood came that we read in Scripture that the fear of man came upon animals and the fear of animals came upon man before Genesis chapter 9 when the flood ended animals peacefully coexisted the animal kingdom and mankind peacefully coexisted there's going to be return to that in the Millennial Kingdom Isaiah 65 and Isaiah 11 talks about it so a great time of peace and tranquility will we will we have to get jobs the Saints won't but for but there will still be people understand there's going to be people who survive the Tribulation Period ok who've put their faith and trust in Christ who weren't necessarily martyred somewhere near the end of the Battle of Armageddon comes they're still going to be believers who will go into the thousand year period living as human beings life will pretty much exist during the thousand-year reign like it does now people will have jobs people will have families they will live together it's a different picture for the Saints who come back with Jesus because 1st Corinthians 6 says that we rule and reign with him and we actually are used as judges in the earth and because Paul warns us in 1st Corinthians 6 he's talking about frivolous lawsuits he says you Saints are gonna end up judging the world you all are gonna judge angels and what he means by that is fallen angels those who have rebelled against God the fallen angels Christians the Saints will be standing as representatives of of the Lord as judges in the earth so we're not going to have like normal jobs like the rest of people but there's going to be survivors of the tribulation period who go into the thousand years and yes they will have jobs like everybody else and life will be pretty normal it's just the big difference will be Jesus is on the throne and he's ruling and reigning somebody asked what is the day of the Lord that phrase the day of the Lord is used 25 times in the Bible both Old Testament and New Testament it is not necessarily speaking of a specific day it can refer to a season a lot of times in the Old Testament the day of the Lord refers to his judgment in New Testament the day of the Lord refers to the second coming which again is a broad topic not just a necessarily a single day somebody asked is it possible that more people die by God's judgment in Revelation than all the Old Testament by God's judgment you know the world's population today is about seven-and-a-half billion people and revelation does talk about the death of a lot of people but it doesn't get specific so I wouldn't know how to weigh out those numbers do you here's two questions that are similar do you think the world is going to end soon because of all the natural disasters happening what does the Bible say about this and number two our current natural disasters a sign of the Lord's forthcoming return so Luke 21:11 talks about earthquakes famines pestilences in various places you know we have a lot of that going on in the world today Luke 21:25 talks about there will be perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea so you know earthquakes and tsunamis pestilences famine these things are increasing but not rapidly so I I think it's hard to distinguish whether some of this is just the natural turmoil of our world or whether those are specific things related to his second coming but any of it I I just kind of look at as we just need to be ready where does the Bible this question was a little confusing I'm gonna try to tell you what I think the person is asking where does the Bible say the second death is eternal torment and parenthesis for anyone beyond the beast prophet Antichrist rather than simply the everlasting destruction of the body and soul so I'm thinking what the person means is besides the Satan besides Satan the Antichrist and the false prophet who get cast into the lake of fire where they are perpetually tormented will others who are non-believers who end up there be tormented in the same way and I think the answer to that is yes because it talks about in Revelation chapter 20 verse 15 it says if anyone's name was not found written in the book he was thrown into the lake of fire now this is this is at this place on our graph the great white throne judgment this is revelation 20 talks about it and then thrown into the lake of fire were Satan the Antichrist and the false prophet have already been sent and it tells us that when Satan is cast into the lake of fire along with the Antichrist and the false prophet it says in Revelation 20 verse 10 and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever some people think that Hal is annihilation it's not neither is the lake of fire it is perpetual torment a person is not annihilated it is perpetual torment I don't know if you heard the the Pope Pope Francis came out with a statement that he doesn't believe in hell recently and that he believes just that the soul disappears if they if they aren't with the Lord the Vatican has since come out with a statement recanting it saying no that the that the person who did the interview got the information wrong but it's left a question mark as to what he believes Pope Francis did clearly say in about a month ago that he wanted to remove a line from the Lord's Prayer lead us not into temptation just strike it out because God doesn't lead us into temptation well that is it that's true but the reason Jesus said those words is that we would continue to pray that God would help us not to be led into temptation so interesting things happening there and recently with the the Pope has been saying but I think that we are who those who are I say we those who don't believe are cast in the lake of fire it's perpetual torment a couple more real quickly and then and I'll get Austin up here to ask your questions so let me put up that texting number again if you wanted a text in who was given authority to judge on judgement day is it just Christ himself or or all the saints given authority to judge I mentioned that a moment ago first Corinthians six one two three tells us that we are as well what is the next event that the book of Revelation says will happen so the next event really revelation three talks about the different phases that the church that Christianity will move through and you have the Church of Philadelphia which is the evangelistic church and I think that we're in that season right now and after that you see that the last church is the Church of Laodicea which is the apostate Church I don't necessarily believe that you go from one complete season to the next I think that they all kind of run together you have at the same time a very evangelistic move you also have apostasy that's creeping into the church I think that when you look at the timeline of events we are at revelation three and the the church gets raptured in Revelation chapter four so that is the next thing that happens are we in the end times yes and we have been since it really I think the pivotal point that that kind of launched the spark to the timeline hastening was the re-emergence of the nation of Israel May the 15th 1948 we're coming up on the 70th anniversary of the of the nation of Israel by the way the first country the very first country to come alongside Israel when they asserted their independence on the May the 15th 1948 was the United States of America 11 minutes after Prime Minister David ben-gurion asserted Israel's independence as a Jewish state President Harry Truman a very devout Christian Bible believing man said we're getting behind Israel 11 minutes after they asserted their independence the United States came alongside Israel yeah praise the Lord will we do a teaching Austin you can come on up and get set up because I only got three quick ones will you will we be doing a teaching about the book of Revelation yes eventually we're look next Wednesday night we're in second Thessalonians and second Thessalonians has a lot to say about in time so if you like this you've got to come back next week because it talks about the Antichrist and second Thessalonians when Jesus comes will we go to heaven right away yes does corners don't believe in pre-trib rapture or post-trib rapture we believe pre-trib again that that Christ returns I'm going to put the timeline that Christ returns before the Tribulation Period all right so that's it for the questions now it's not time to stump the pastor but go ahead and we'll see what you got you guys texted in some great questions here so I'm gonna fire some at you here dad all right a few questions on the final judgment so I'm gonna shoot those to you the first one is will non-believers be given a second chance at the final judgment second question is and what's your take on the judgment of the sheep and the goats who is being judged okay the first question is will non-believers yeah so at the final judgment will non-believers be given a second chance so that implies that they've had a first chance correct and we only get one chance so there are no second chances which which is yeah look there let me clarify it there are plenty of second chances in this lifetime and I'm thankful for multiple chances God has given me to get right with him right amen but when when there is the final curtain call if you will this is why it's so important you know when I urge people like you know make a decision you're not guaranteed tomorrow when you stand before the Lord you have to give an account for your life and and there are no second chances at that point the question about the sheep and the goats is out of Matthew chapter 25 and what was the question about it what's your take on the on the judgment of the sheep and the goats who's the Sheep who the goats what does that represent who's being judged there the sheep are basically believers the goats are non-believers the Sheep are those who are saved they give evidence of their salvation by their love for the Jewish people actually it's one of the ways that when Jesus brings judgment here he refers to how they treated the Jewish people in reference to what they did unto the least of them they've done unto Him so the sheep are believers and the goats are non-believers and he separates believers from non-believers and the believers then enter into their eternal reward okay we're getting a lot of questions coming in on the number 666 what's the relevancy of that number does that number appear in the Bible yeah it does appear in the Bible and and there's been a lot of debate as to what it was I remember in the 80s when people thought it was Ronald Reagan because his name was six letters all three Ronald Wilson Reagan every name had six letters like he's the Antichrist 666 is just the number six is a number for man man was created on the sixth day so there's numerology in scripture it's not a mystical thing it's just certain numbers means certain things in the Bible 40 for example is a number for judgment seven is the number for perfection our completion six is a number that just in it's triplicate form represents the most evil of mankind now some believe it is a literal number like a literal barcode I mean I again it's funny if you've lived long enough some of these things are you know amusing but I remember when that little what does it call the hologram thing came out on your credit cards and people were sure that's the mark of the beast' not using my credit cards anymore it's the mark of the beast and you know all this kind of stuff is just like you know chill out it's like it's like we're not even gonna be here to get the mark of the beast so don't worry about it and if you are left behind because you're not taking a heart some of the stuff we're saying please hear me don't ever take the mark on your right hand or your forehead whatever the mark is don't take it yeah but I won't be able to buy and sell and I'm gonna die yeah but if you but if you know Christ it's all gonna be okay I mean they're gonna cut off your head but you're gonna be okay because in Revelation chapter 15 John John says that he saw a vision and he says I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and standing beside the sea those who had been victorious over the Beast and His image and over the number of his name and so there will be this glorious reward for people who refuse to worship the Beast and take his number but we don't know that it is an exact specific number I think that it is a number in triplicates that represents the most evil of humanity all right so the book of Revelation focuses a lot on the nation of Israel and so this question is asking kind of condensing it here why is Israel still called God's people if Jesus died for all humanity Israel serves a unique place in the history of mankind in that God formed the nation out of no one and nothing the father of the Jews is Abraham but Abraham was a Gentile he was not a Jew where did the Jewish people come from they came from the seed of Abraham so God raised up a man to raise up a nation to raise up a messiah through the nation so the the special place that Israel has in God's heart is that the Jewish people were it was and is a nation through which the Jewish Messiah came that doesn't make them closer to heaven than anybody else because Jew and Gentile alike have to come to having the same way through faith in Jesus through faith in Yeshua but they are still God's chosen people and they are still people who whom he loves and and blesses because of their special place in in history and God's not done with them in in Zechariah it tells us that there will be this great return of the Jewish people to to their Messiah in fact it says prophetically in Zechariah chapter 12 in verse 10 God says and I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem talking about the Jews a spirit of grace and supplication and they will look on me the one they have pierced Jesus and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child and they will grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son and later on in the text it says that they will ask him where did you receive these marks the marks of the crucifixion and he will say to them I received them in the house of my friends and then Zechariah 13 talks about how that a third of the Jews he will bring into salvation because they will behold Jesus so at the end of the Tribulation Period they see Jesus he comes Battle of Armageddon he's victorious he overthrows all these nations but he bears the marks of his crucifixion somebody once said that the only man-made thing in heaven right now are the marks of the crucifixion that Jesus bears and when he returns he still bears the marks a glorified body as it is but he still bears the mark like he did on his resurrection you know his disciples into Thomas like let me touch your mark so he still bears the marks the Jews will see when he returns and then they will recognize and then the light goes off you are the one that we have pierced you are Jesus you are the Messiah and many Jews will still get saved and because they will ask where did you receive these marks and people say at the house of my friends and there will be this great revival and Zechariah 13 talks about how they will call on my name and I will answer them and I will say they are my pea and they will say the Lord is our God and you you couple that with Romans chapter 11 which talks clearly about how God's not done with the Jewish people and many are coming into faith there are an estimated 800,000 or so Jewish believers in Jesus in the United States alone and another twenty to thirty thousand Jewish believers in Israel today and so many are coming to faith in Christ God's not done with the Jewish people he's still you know has a plan for them and so we respect and honor the Jewish people in that regard that historically and even still providentially prophetically God has plans for them okay so a good question here is it's been over 2,000 years since Christ so why is Jesus telling his disciples that he's coming soon and I think even you know Paul talks about it in the New Testament about Christ's imminent return so why the language there if it's been over 2,000 years Jesus is telling his disciples that you'll be back he's coming soon mm-hmm so so here here's a good way to think about it what if Jesus had said I'll be back in 2,500 years what do you think the lifestyle of his disciples would have been like yeah party-hardy baby yeah you're right is that party already not going back 2500 years the church is always to live with that expectancy because again as I quoted earlier from first John it motivates us to holy living God wants us to always be watching waiting longing for his return it will help to keep us living a life of devotion to him so it's it's a constant motivator just to be ready now this person here has a two-part question and he refers to Ezekiel chapter 43 so I'll let you get there while I ask this two-part question this person's asking what's the point of the Millennium and then in Ezekiel 43 why are there animal sacrifices again okay so the point of yeah that the point of the Millennium is a little tricky I mean why doesn't God just you know let's go back to the to the timeline why doesn't God just you know Jesus second coming here end of everything lake a fire right here new heaven and new earth why why all of this I don't have an answer as to why God does what he decides to do but he you know he allows people who have come through the tribulation to experience a peak a time on earth where there will just be this peaceful experience unlike any other time now that's about the best I'm gonna give on that because I don't know why God has decided to have that and I I don't understand exactly why at the end of the thousand years by the way the Bible says Satan is relief I mean I understand but at all of it just seems a little beyond me and so I defer to God on the whole that Satan gets released at the end of the thousand years by the way and he deceives the nation's once again and once again at the end of the thousand years nations converge against Israel to fight against God it's just it's insanity it's like it's like didn't you learn from the Battle of Armageddon how it turns out but nevertheless at the end of the thousand years Satan is unbound released for a short period of time deceives the nation's they come against Israel they are defeated again and that is in essence to give an opportunity for people who have lived during that thousand years to realize you got to make a choice here Satan has been released you have Jesus Prince of Peace who are you going to serve so so that's that's how that goes the sacrifices there will be sacrifices that are again made at the temple to the Lord during that thousand years why Jesus is that jesus said I came out to abolish the law but that the law through me might be fulfilled he is the fulfillment of everything related to the law the Old Testament sacrificial system we thought isn't that just replaced by Jesus well yes but just as we have communion now we take of the bread and of the cup because we're looking back at the cross we're looking back at what Christ has done for the sacrifices will be re-implemented among those who are regular people on earth not the Saints who have already been glorified with Jesus and rule and reign with him but among those living on the earth the sacrificial system will be re-implemented looking back to all of its fulfillment it's kind of like this ultimate fulfillment of okay we're gonna offer sacrifices because Jesus now is the fulfillment of everything that we've come to understand through Scripture we're looking back in worship of him and those people on earth at that time will bring sacrifices to him as part of that celebration of his fulfillment of the law and ask this question are we sure that the Antichrist will be a man no if he's thinking like maybe he's maybe his girlfriend's the Antichrist [Music] or he's looking at different politicians and wondering I'm not saying I'm just saying yeah we know that he's gonna be a man because he is always referred to by that pronoun through Scripture I recently listened to your sermon series in Revelation and at one point you said that all names are written in the book of life and a name will only be removed if a person denies or rejects Christ this person's wondering did I understand that right can you explain a little further but the book of life yeah so there are actually different books and there are there I do remember teaching on this there is a in Revelation chapter 20 it talks about the books that are opened I saw the dead great and small standing before the throne books were opened another book was opened which is the book of life it talks about how if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life he was thrown into the lake of fire there's this there's a specific verse that I quoted in that series that I don't I don't remember she'll not be I don't remember the exact verse that I referred to it's a different verse related to that and so I got to find that before I can really quote on did the person mention the verse that I quoted no so ask me another question I'll see if I can find that as well okay um the scripture reveal if the rapture of the church will be visible to others like when Jesus ascended people saw that it was visible is the rapture gonna be like that where people will see us be physically raptured or yeah well we we are taken up in a flash in the twinkling of an eye so I don't know if you blink you're gonna they're gonna miss us go so I I don't know that we're actually gonna be visibly seen I think you know what I mean in again in those old films like thief in the night it had like clothing and eyeglasses lying in a chair where somebody was and because III don't know about that but I don't know if it'll be visible or not a lot of people will be able to see us I can't I can't remember that verse now I'm sorry I'm gonna have to pass on that question there's a specific verse but basically without being able to refer to that verse going back to the other question you do see in scripture where God makes gracious provision for children who are what we what we've come to term younger than the age of accountability that's a phrase we've kind of made up but what it speaks of is the general things that scripture teaches when you look at for example when David prayed over the sick child that was born T to him and Bathsheba and then that child died and David got up and he went to the house of Lord he actually worshiped and broke his fast and his his attendants asked you know why are you worshiping now and he said well he cannot return to me but I will go to him and he speaks of how that child is already in heaven you also see in when the Jews were making their way from Egypt to the promised land and a whole generation of Jews died in the wilderness because of their disobedience against God God nevertheless brought in their children into the Promised Land so you see gracious provision that God makes four children at some point a name is in the book I mean if a child for example comes it is received to heaven because he or she is not able old enough yet and this goes for those who have mental disabilities and like mental retardation or Down's not not able to perhaps cognitively make a decision for Christ this goes the same for them there's gracious provision so at what point is their name in the book and so I think I could make the argument if I could find the exact verses that they're referring to that I remember quoting from but that your name is in the book and that's why as an innocent child even though our sin nature doesn't make us innocent but in that sense of not being able to be old enough to make a decision for Christ they're taken to the Lord at some point I think God gives us that first benefit of the your name is in the book only by rebelling against him and rejecting Christ is in our name removed and in that sense that's just another way of saying non-believers whose names are not in the book of life okay I got probably time for one more question more question all right let's I thought this was a really good question something I've been curious about as well so if Satan knows how this is all gonna end he knows what's going down here why does he still continue on in his plan okay did you find out yeah I did find the verse actually so hold that question it's rather late it's revelation 3 verse 5 jesus said he who overcomes will like them be dressed in white I will never blot out his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before my father and his angels revelation 3:5 I believe in furs that a name is there otherwise Jesus the blotting out in furs that the name is there so I believe that that in His grace we're in the book he doesn't blot us out when we receive him as our Lord and Savior but otherwise we get blotted out so that so it's revelation 3:5 okay back to that question Roboto question if Satan knows how this is all gonna end why does he then try to continue this plan out try to conquer God because he's stupid I know that he's stupid well this is the thing he's gonna try to smack me for that tonight so pray for me the thing is that is exactly his MO he knows how the story ends okay remember Satan quoted scripture to Jesus when he tempted Jesus in the wilderness Satan no scripture he just doesn't obey it he doesn't submit to it and so because he knows his ultimate fate he wants to take as many people with him as possible that's the answer to that question Satan is on a mission to take as many people with him as possible but greater is he in us than he that is in the world so Jesus Christ and His redemptive work on the cross he is fighting for you to take you to heaven because the enemy of your soul Satan is fighting to take you to hell so surrender your life to Jesus and go to heaven have your sins forgiven so Luke chapter 21 talks about how and in verse 28 talks about how all these things when you see all these things happen lift up your head because your Redemption draws near amen let's pray together father thank you for this time in your word and looking through these things trying to discern and understand the best we can lord I just pray you'll sort out whatever I may not have said right in the hearts and minds of the folks who have been a part of tonight's Bible study and we just commit to you Lord we just thank you that you love us that you died for us and you're coming again and I pray that those who are uncertain about where they stand with you would right now tonight just surrender their heart to you that they would just say Lord forgive me of my sins come into my heart I just trust you by faith I believe that you died for me in a cross I accept you I invite you into my heart or that all of us because of praying a prayer like that and living a life in response of devotion to you would be ready that no matter when that trumpet call sounds we will be ready and we know that there's the enemy of our souls working hard to try to steal kill and destroy Satan wants us to join him in the ultimate destruction but you God so loved the world that you gave your only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life we thank you for that hope and that promise of Jesus Christ our Lord and His name we pray and everybody said amen amen
