what's going on everybody welcome to chemical guys detail garage how many of us have woken up one day and came out to our vehicle that we parked on the street only to find out that the sprinklers went off and now our car is stained with those hard water spots so today we're going to show you how to quickly remove that and restore your gloss now this trek behind me you've probably seen in a handful of our youtube videos because it belongs to a good friend of the detail garage and over the past week or so it was sitting outside it got water spots which sat on the surface and dried and now it's stained the paintwork and today we're going to show you how to quickly remove that without having to use a polisher or a clay bar or any kind of cost of chemicals but before we begin we're going to grab one of my favorite quick detail sprays which is synthetic quick detailer this safely removes dust dirt bird droppings anything that lingers on the surface of your vehicle and safely carries it off for a scratch-free finish it's going to start here on the fender and just give a generous mist and then using a clean green workhorse microfiber towel we're just going to start wiping away any dust or any kind of messes now although the surface looks cleaner those water spots unfortunately are still on the surface i may not be able to pick it up on camera but in person i can definitely see that there are still some water spots lingering on the surface and if that was left on there for let's say a few months that's actually going to start to etch the paintwork where it require polishing to remove it and we're going to avoid that by using some heavy duty water spot remover heavy duty water spot remover gel is a great way to gently scrub away those stubborn stains such as water spots to give your car that awful look and again if it was left for long enough on the surface it's actually going to start to etch the paintwork and that requires polishing to remove it so to begin we're going to just shake up the bottle and then using a monster fluffer microfiber applicator pad which helps to scrub away those stubborn stains we're just going to apply a couple of dots or you can use a couple lines let's use lines and now we're going to spread it out on the fender here working in a small section at a time or panel by panel dab it out and then start working it back and forth and just with a little bit of elbow grease we'll start to remove those stains without the need for polishing or pulling out a clay bar easy way to restore your gloss and remove those water spots you can use a cross hatching pattern just to ensure that you're getting even coverage working back and forth in linear motions avoid doing any kind of swirling motions just in case you do pick up something abrasive you wouldn't want to scratch the paint that you're trying to revive but after you've worked it in thoroughly take your quick detail spray or waterless wash and then neutralize the area just so you can help remove that chemical cleaner and they can check your work after working in that small section with the heavy duty water spot gel we're going to use our quick detail spray again and neutralize the cleaner and then just wipe away any of the excess and spent product [Music] after using synthetic quick detail spray to neutralize the water spot remover it's restored that gloss and you can tell the huge difference that's been performed here on the treated side compared to the non-treated side and again if this water spots were left on the surface long enough it's going to start to etch and deteriorate the clear coat where it's going to either be permanently stained or it's going to require polishing to remove it so to prevent that we're going to move on to the rest of the vehicle get rid of these water spots and we'll join you guys in a minute [Music] alrighty guys now you see just how easy it is to use heavy duty water spot remover gel to get rid of those stubborn water spot stains and make your car look great again now a couple things you guys want to know is obviously it works on gloss painted surfaces but you can also use it on your windows your chrome work your chrome trim and anything else that's glossy painted shiny or clear to remove those stubborn stains and revive that shine also after you've used a heavy duty water spot remover you want to come back and apply some type of protective coating whether it's your jetseal or your favorite wax just to prevent any kind of future stains and maintain that gloss so guys thanks so much for tuning in and if you want to check out any of these products head over to our website chemicalguys.com or your local detail garage if you like today's video be sure to give it a thumbs up drop your comments down below for any future videos or anything you guys want to talk about and we'll see you next time [Music] you
