Anki Cozmo Unboxing/Setup!

[Music] hey everyone Hudson here welcome to the world of hot today I have another review for you and this one's a little bit different than my usual stuff this is just something that I thought was kind of cool that I wanted to get and review for you all as well so this is the Cosmo from n key so hanky panky hanky um I'm gonna say Anki cuz that sounds cooler I guess I don't know how it's pronounced I'm sorry they've made a couple of different types of remote control ish smart devices or not really devices but little characters or cars or that kind of thing you know so I've looked at some of the stuff like they have the Anki overdrive I think it's called with the cars which seem pretty neat I just didn't have space for like the whole track and all that but I saw Cosmo I was like this thing kind of looks adorable you know and so they actually are doing I don't know if it's a Kickstarter or something similar for something called is it vector I think it is alright now see now I'm blinking now that I started started turning on the camera I can't even remember but whatever it is it looked really cool and I actually backed it so whenever it comes out I will review that as well but this one is already out and I thought it was still cool enough to warrant or purchase and then that way I can also do a comparison when I get the other one so as you can see they have the the Cosmo you know pictured on the sides there so it's like this little remote-control vehicle but its face like the screen lights up with all sorts of expressions and everything which looks really really fun he looks super adorable I've seen videos of it I think it just it just looked a lot of fun so I wanted to do sort of this little unboxing and a review to see what's inside so first of all does this thing come off I don't know I'm gonna leave it like that I guess I think there's tape right here okay so let's just follow along so this peels right off oh that's that's satisfying it's kind of nice I actually ordered this on eBay because there was a they had they're like 15% off like coupon code things I actually used it on this and I got a shipping box and it came from Target and even the receipt labels Target and I'm like wait what I thought I bought this on eBay so maybe the seller like no I don't know how that worked out but I have it here I removed all the tape didn't I right yeah okay so this should just slide out I believe okay so here we go ooh there he is right there there's Cosmo does he come right off or do I have to oh there we go yeah there he is comes right off there's this little plastic piece you just just pull this down there we go and then this little tab here as well that comes right off yeah look at this so he's got like these uh I guess there's a camera here which I think will help him sense if he's about to go off a ledge or something which is kind of nice but he's got these little treads yeah I mean this looks this is pretty cool so I'm excited about it I don't know if he has a charge or anything I'm actually downloading the app because there is an app that connects to it as well so I'll have to wait and see what we do there so now there's more little tabs to peel and open but I like you know how straightforward this is so that's kind of nice and yeah there's a tab right here okay so peel that as well although it's not fully peeling but there you go and then it peels down here so the part is still stuck up there but anyways minor things oh okay well there you go start here in case you're wondering what to do start here so I guess we're going to start here so we'll open this up we have a Quick Start Guide there's a promo code for 15% off Hongki products which I might save so I'm sorry but there's that product information guide okay so let's take a look at this Quick Start Guide to see what we're supposed to do so what's included we got Cosmo we have three power cubes as well so these are the cubes that are right here I don't know if they're all the same or not but here it is they got all sorts of different symbols which I guess the Cosmo is going to be able to recognize so you can pull this tab out oh it's lighting up no should I have done that yeah maybe I shouldn't have done that yeah maybe I'm supposed to do that when it comes time to I'm jumping ahead I don't know but now whatever weirdoes we're gonna do this we're gonna we're gonna go for it and see what's inside cuz there's a charger and stuff right like there's gonna be a charger yeah there we go okay so inside we then have this little tray right here compatible with most USB power adapters okay that's candy now I know that the vector is gonna be able to like know when the charge is low and it'll drive itself over to the charging dock and charge by itself I don't know if Cosmo does that or not but I know that you can control them to go back to the dock which is nice regardless cuz there's I don't know if this is a little sensor to let him know where it is or what the little sticker but but yeah so you got the you know decently sized Aida's USB and then he just fits right in to charge I assume just just like that just right on there so that's that's pretty handy so cool all right let's kind of get some stuff out of the way cuz I feel like this is starting to get a little crowded here let's move that move this okay I'm over there what you need is you need a smartphone device clean open indoor space to play download the app power up your Cosmo so let's let me plug this in let me get like a wire going over here and let's plug this in and and see what happens alright so I have this thing plugged into my macbook I just sort of brought it over near where I'm sitting so let's set this thing down let's set the Cosmo right on here and see what happens oh he moved so on the face there was a little passcode I think that popped that's popping up right there I'm not going to show it there yet but we're gonna connect the Cosmo to my phone so there should be a Wi-Fi network I think that pops up is what it's saying for Cosmo it's creating its own Wi-Fi network on my phone so I'm searching for Wi-Fi as you can see I have a couple of different Wi-Fi networks set up all with Harry Potter names because I'm a Harry Potter fan let's see I'm waiting for and also it's blinking green right there at the top to show that it's charging I still don't see the Wi-Fi network oh there we go now it's there the Cosmo okay so let's click on the Cosmo and I'm gonna try and enter the passcode if I can see it let me move it a little bit closer to where I am okay so let me set up the e the passcode right here oops I accidentally nudged it over and let me set it up and I'll be back okay so I finally connected to the Kosmos Wi-Fi network took me a few tries I feel like I enter the right thing a couple times but it said incorrect but make sure there are literal dashes in there so make sure you include the dashes because I tried with and without a few times wasn't working eventually I did with the dashes and it did work but regardless now it says to boot up the Cosmo app so I downloaded the app but I have not opened it yet before so I'm opening it up for the first time okay so let's connect make sure your devices sound is turned on yeah so is that supposed to be this oh that sound okay yes I heard that sound there's other background music so that didn't really help me there anyways all right sounds good enter my birthday so let me put that in right there alright I'm a January birthday and then let me go pick Oh ready okay place cause Mona's charger done let's hit continue please leave Cosmo on a charger during setup okay continue searching for Cosmo I wonder if it's gonna do anything I don't know updating my Cosmo alright so you'll need to reconnect to cosmos Wi-Fi after the update completes got it so it's gonna sit here and go through the updates as well so we'll see what it does also i couldnt use my handy kickstand right here and have that set up as it's updating so we can see the progress and see what's going on so it's actually seems to be going by pretty quick which is nice let me move this a little closer actually oh he moved securing your connection ok cool pull the tabs on your cubes so I did on one of them already which was which one this one so I should have waited maybe I don't know oh no I found one already okay good so let me pull the tabs on the other ones here all right so we'll pull the tab on that one okay waiting for that check mark to appear and then the other tab so waiting for these two how do I know what's what okay one of these connected is that this one I think it's this one and then I still have this one it's it's waiting to connect so all right so I might need to do some troubleshooting to see what's going on here so let me do that and then I'll be right back okay so in troubleshooting it said I have to go to the settings to try and refresh the cubes but I can't get to the settings without continuing so I'm just gonna continue and I guess we'll worry about this third cube later all right so you're connected you're Cosmo he's almost ready he just needs a moment to charge so I really I have to wait a hundred and seventy seconds is that just a standard thing is that oh maybe this is their way of saying he's loading because now there's a blue light at the top instead of green so I don't know I guess we'll just we'll wait it out I'll be back in in a couple minutes once once it's all done all right we're almost done and now it says once he's done charging let Cosmo come to life and learn about his new home so let's see what happens Cosmo is ready continue plays Cosmo on a clean open table in a well-lit room okay continue Cosmo try to avoid falling but just like a pet you might need your help all right so let's let's start watch Cosmo come to life let's see what happens [Music] well let me turn off these lights here so you can really see that helping I don't know if it's helping o to see the the reflection in his eyes I have really bright studio lights you're walking right into the camera buddy how can I make it so you can see his his eyes better sorry I'm trying to adjust the lights to make it easier to see alright dude you're getting a little close trying to film you okay so there's on here it says Cosmo is a very special robot who needs a caring owner follow the instructions carefully so let's begin so place a cube in front of Cosmo will turn blue when you can see it so let's take this cube I'm gonna turn you around buddy let's put this cube right here Cosmo needs [Music] do you see it attorney I have my studio lights are making it very difficult to see his reaction so let me turn off all these lights there we go so if the Lighting's gonna look a little weird but I had my bright studio lights shining at him so so he's trying to play around with the cube and pick it up let's see if he can do it oh and he fell off the table you fell off the table buddy because here's the thing my table has these tablecloths so it makes it tricky to know when you're at the edge so with most tables I think you can detect it but because of this tablecloth it's probably throwing them off so all right so let's continue this tutorial thumbs up to like hold my hand here in case he tries to go off yeah you see the cube buddy go for it you can do it there you go oh good through it oh did he find the other cube the other one was glowing just don't fall off the table there you go it is adorable okay there you go you got it dude are you so happy and said well done Cosmo would like to meet you okay let's meet Cosmo enter my first name okay so let me grab my phone and put in my information look at Cosmo straight on and hold still [Music] Wow Hassan he said my name yes that's awesome Cosmo that's so cool Cosmo has learned to recognize my face and he may see my name me Cosmo again to introduce him to more friends so he can like meet more people that's so cool and he actually pronounces it right instead of saying Hassan or anything but like which is totally fine but like he's like that's so cool Cosmo that's awesome so you can add a bunch of people basically so there's space here I'll just bring my phone closer so you can see there's space for multiple people to be added if you want him to meet more people so let's just hit done for now and see what happens Cosmo has needs care for him each day to keep him happy okay continue oh what happened oh and the red bar is low tap the tune-up on to scan Cosmo all right let's scan Cosmo okay so lift needs calibration apparently so let's tap that okay so we're just pressing this button pattern here set it up up down down so he's calibrating it okay there you go all right Cosmo everything else looks green so I think we're good he's fully tuned up so we'll hit continue he needs to be fed so when the blue bar is low cosmos hungry so let's tap the feed button so we need a one with a circling blue light so we need a cube with circling blue light so I got this one here okay shake that cube until all lights grow glow brightly okay so I'm shaking it there we go place it where a Cosmo can see it so he can feed himself oh that's how he eats that is adorable he's fully fed now so let's hit done alright so then the yellow meter is the play button yeah you want to play Cosmo all right let's play so let's hit play so there's different things right here so unlockable tricks and games let's play now so tricks he can roll a cube apparently so let's let's do that make sure there's a cube that you can see well you're gonna you're gonna roll off the floor buddy there you go yeah that one go for it do you see it yeah come on go go for the cube go for the cube just don't fall over [Music] you did not see it or maybe this one I don't know is he trying to get an idea maybe he's like oh maybe I have to put it close to him like that what you doing buddy well okay it's glowing don't don't fall over don't fall over the cubes right here there I don't get it okay you're about to fall over I have to move you okay I don't know what just happened there I need to figure that one out I might need a bigger table as well too because I want to get him on the table to see what's going on but something's happening I've earned more sparks okay so I think these sparks you can use Oh fist bump reward all right let's learn that one let's do a fist bump okay you've unlocked a song pop goes the weasel so there's lots of different things that you can unlock would you like Cosmo to send you messages when he needs you I'll do maybe later for now okay cool so let's do that can I teach them the fist bump I'm gonna do a fist bump fist bump yeah all right so six sparks so when he's ready he's gonna put his lift in the air and you can do a fist bump you see a fist boom there you go that was cool that was cool buddy all right I like it ready can you do a fist bump I do I have to go in the play mode let's see fist bump yeah oh never mind I thought he's trying to do it fist bump I don't know what he's trying to do now he's just exploring I guess so let me make sure I can go in the settings and do Refresh cubes here so that I can make sure that I get them all to work all right so let's hit refresh and I need to put all these cubes near Cosmo and just make sure that's that it's working properly so there's lots of different things that you can do with Cosmo oh he's got the hiccups but I don't need you know the hiccups right now buddy I need you too all right he found some of the cubes but this one he's still struggling with I don't know why hair maybe it's a battery in one of these too so I might need to go change the battery of one of these if it's still acting up but yeah so we'll see what happens oh don't fall over don't fall over buddy but anyways I'm not gonna waste too much time with all that I just wanted to show you guys what this is all about as you can see there's a lot to do with it so you definitely got to have a nice open space a nice flat surface oh there you go he's picking up the cube he's he's exploring on his own which is super cool I mean this is just adorable I'm just what he does and you can just kind of have him just chillin hanging out don't fall over I'm trying to make stop you from falling backwards buddy just seeing his face to us is so much fun this is this is key it is adorable so that's the Anki Cosmo so hopefully you guys enjoyed this video oh he rolled it over good job
