[Music] hey everyone I have a ton of anchor devices because they've been the top brand for USB power Banks phone chargers and cables for years recently they've been scaling up that expertise into a line of full-size power stations when anchor announced their newest and largest unit the PowerHouse 767 it ticked every box I was looking for in a mid-sized unit they were kind enough to send me a 767 along with the extra battery and a pair of 200 watt solar panels to test thanks anchor in this video I'll test every feature in depth and tell you if I think this is the best two kilowatt hour Power Station currently on the market on anchor site with current discounts the PowerHouse 767 currently costs 1999 or 299 when bundled with the expansion battery it is a five-year warranty but that's only useful if there's customer support to back it up to test that I called customer support and they answered within one ring it is a rugged unibody case that is impact resistant and very attractive with Classy details and high quality materials throughout the front has the display a light and AC DC and USB outputs around back are the charging inputs and the expansion battery port for the extra battery there's a telescoping handle that pulls out so you can move this around easily with a pair of integrated Wheels this rolls on both grass and pavement just fine and definitely saves your back when you're transporting it there's a pair of beefy handles on the top that make it easy to pick up as well thinker includes a zippered organizer to hold the included accessories there's a heavy duty wall charging cable a car charging cable and parallel solar panel connector this packs a 2048 watt hour lfp battery that is super safe better for the environment and has a long lifespan of 3 000 Cycles to 80 capacity it's an EV class battery that's created for a 10-year lifespan at the top is a wide light bar that has three brightness levels and an SOS mode this has a soft diffused light with a warm color temperature that would actually be useful to use as a lantern during a power outage the display is very large bright and easy to read even across the room it shows the state of charge percentage input and output watts and time remaining as well as a row of indicators for the status of ports to the right is a button to turn Bluetooth on and off once connected the app is very well designed with information on the battery status Port activity you can turn the ports on and off remotely but since this is Bluetooth the range is limited to 30 to 40 feet I wish this also had Wi-Fi for better range but it does work very well for AC output there are four three prong outlets and a tt-30r receptacle for the 2400 watt pure sine wave inverter the 30 amp plug is perfect for connecting this to an RV or transfer panel the AC ports can be activated via a slick looking button on the front or through the app I like that you can set a timer to turn the ports off after a certain duration in the app up to 24 hours to test the inverter I plugged in a space heater and even when delivering close to 1500 watts it was whisper quiet that's only a few decibels over the ambient room noise Anchor's Gan Prime technology means the inverter is 96 efficient and they claim temperatures can be up to 86 percent cooler than typical components lower temperatures means better efficiency and longer lifespan so this is a big deal next I added more loads to push it to its Max rated power of 2400 watts and it ran it like a champ for a full 20 minutes voltage was Rock Steady at 120 volts and the fan spun up to a full speed they were quieter than other brands I've tested at only 52 decibels I then tried to overload the inverter by ramping up the power but I noticed that the appliances started acting strange and the front display never went much above 2400 Watts after checking with my meter it seems to reduce the ac voltage to stay within the wattage limit rather than tripping an overload now this is basically the same as ecoflow's X boost feature I get why they do this by default but I would like to be able to disable this in the app to avoid damaging sensitive Electronics next I measured to see how much of the rated battery capacity I could pull from AC over a 5 hour 0.2 C test it delivered 1 810 Watt hours for a very good 88.4 percent efficiency the inverter will draw a little over one percent per hour when on but no loads are connected which is average for standby losses luck luckily the inverter will automatically shut down if there's no load connected for 15 minutes so you really don't need to worry about losses unless you set the ports to stay on with a timer like I did the inverter in the 767 is Rock Solid and dead quiet I think it's probably best in this size class which is very impressive for Anchor's first attempt it also includes a UPS mode to switch from wall power to battery when the grid goes down during an outage this happens within 20 milliseconds which is fast enough for most computers to stay on and is great for keeping your internet router and fridge backed up seamlessly for DC output this has a pair of cigarette style ports however there's no 5521 Anderson or any other kind of DC ports the DC output also has a button to turn the ports on and off right from the front panel these are regulated at a steady 12.4 volts all the way up to this Max output of 10 amps for the DC capacity test I only have one DC load tester that maxes out at 10 amps or 125 watts so it took 14 hours to drain the battery from Full I measured 1753 Watt hours or 85.6 efficiency which is really good especially for such a long test for DC standby losses with no loads connected the 767 was still at 100 after 24 hours which is super impressive I've never seen a power station that didn't have DC standby losses especially one with regulated outputs the efficient regulated DC outputs with no fan noise makes it perfect for running small intermittent loads like a compressor fridge lights or fans in a camper van for very long period periods of time efficiently anchor is famous for selling the best usb chargers and Battery Banks so it's no surprise that the 767 has the most impressive USB output I've seen so far it has three USBC ports and each can deliver 100 Watts for a total of 300 watts it also has two 18 watt high speed usba ports all the ports use anker's power IQ technology with intelligent device detection to maximize charging speeds the USB ports are always active no need to turn on the ports with the button this doesn't support bi-directional charging but that makes sense for such a large battery I plugged in a power station Anker 100 watt power bank iPhone and two MacBook laptops and measured up to 250 watts of total output across the USB ports which is the most I've ever tested in a power station I'm sure I could pull well over 300 watts if I had more devices that supported 100 watt input over USBC to extend your runtime you can attach the Anker 760 expansion battery to add another 2048 Watt hours of lfp storage and is quite a bit more compact than the 767 it connects from a covered port on the back with an included cable this cable is just as beefy and stiff as other Power Station cables but is much shorter and is placed at the back so it's a lot sleeker looking from the front this would be easier to squeeze into a tight spot in a camper van if you had the depth the Locking connectors are pretty slick too just twist to unlock the battery has a basic segmented pyrometer that tells you its rough state of charge and that's it unfortunately you can't recharge or discharge it independently like you can with some of blue Eddie's batteries but just having the option to double the runtime is a great feature to have I tested AC output with the extra battery and pulled 3560 Watt hours for 87 efficiency which is pretty much identical to the 767 by itself so here's an interesting thing I found when discharging it will completely drain the external battery to zero before it starts pulling energy from the 767's internal battery when you recharge it first fills the 767 to 100 then starts charging the extra battery so these operate sequentially with a focus on keeping the 767's internal battery as charged as possible this is different from other brands that try to pull equally from both batteries and they even Shuffle power between them to equalize them I think Anchor's approach makes a lot more sense it preserves the lifespan of the more expensive 767 and means you're more likely to be fully charged if you want to grab it and go you can recharge the 767 with the integrated wall charger at 1440 Watts solar at 1000 Watts or car adapter at 125 watts to wall charge the 767 connect the AC cable to the back of the unit and plug it in I really like that you can choose the charging speed in the app that's a pretty clutch feature in my test it charged from zero to full in 1 hour and 52 minutes when plugged into the wall it takes about double that with the expansion battery at just under 4 hours it supports pass-through charging so you can use the AC DC and USB ports while charging when charging and running all sorts of appliances it was a whisper quiet 43 decibels unless you really push the output close to 2 000 Watts for car charging anchor gives you a high quality cable with cigarette plug on one end and xt60 on the other this worked as advertised at 10 amps or 125 watts which is really the limit of what this kind of connector can safely handle that means it would take about 16 hours to charge the 767 on the road so solar might be a faster option speaking of solar you can input up to 1000 watts to fill the battery in about two and a half hours it accepts 11 to 32 volts at 10 amps or 32 to 60 volts at 20 amps the 767 doesn't let you charge from AC and solar at the same time however anchor set along a pair of their new 531 folding solar panels these are rated at 200 watts and are somewhat unusual because they have an open circuit voltage of 57.6 volts and operate around 48 volts that's much higher than your typical 12 volt panel they retail for 549 dollars but are available at a lower price as part of a 767 bundle yeah they aren't cheap but I gotta say these are very impressive panels it's a four section design that has high quality monocrystalline cells rugged etfe surface and an IP67 waterproof rating they weigh 20.3 pounds and are about 2 foot square when folded these panels have the best kickstands I've ever seen the three kickstands are magnetically attached to the panels and closed with a satisfying snap there's a long strip that unfolds as the base and a second piece that wedges on top to form a strong triangle there are three notches on the base for common angles but the textured surface has enough friction to place them really at any angle in between best of all these panels are quite flat and rigid when set up they include a removable dual sided xt60 cable and I like that because if the cable fails or you want a different connector you can swap it out for example you can get an xd60 to mc4 Cable if that's what you prefer now I didn't expect much output because it was a partially cloudy day in the middle of winter here in New England but I was able to get a full 200 Watts out of this panel which is pretty amazing I then connected both panels and saw a peak of 410 Watts at 1 pm so these were easily delivering over their rating since the max solar input of the 767 is 60 volts at 20 amps they've optimized these panels to be connected in parallel for a total of 1 000 Watts with five panels that's where the included parallel solar connector comes in if you only have one panel you can connect it directly into the 767 but if you want to run two to five panels This adapter is designed to sum them together however as will Pros found the male xt60 connectors on the adapter are all wired in parallel so once you connect one panel all the pins are energized and uncovered I confirm this with my meter and it's potentially a shock hazard or could simply short out on the wet grass for my tests I simply covered the other ports with tape and lift the other two cables plugged in so there weren't any exposed pins Anker is aware of this and are looking at options to address the issue no word yet on the exact approach they're going to take and keep in mind the parallel connector is only used when connecting a few of anchors somewhat unusual high voltage panels that's a pretty specific situation the 767 will work great with any brand in configuration of solar panels you want as long as you adapt it to xt60 in the end and stay below the 60 volt limit I use this MC Ford xd60 adapter and hooked it to my flexible panels and it worked great all right let's talk about my overall impressions of the powerhouse 767. for pros it has a rugged unibody design a very clear display smartphone app support lfp battery that's expandable up to four kilowatt hours powerful and efficient AC with a 30 amp plug the quietest fans I've ever seen regulated dual DC ports three 100 watt USBC ports integrated handle and wheels the light is actually useful it has a 5 year warranty with good support and excellent solar panel performance is it perfect well no the cons are that it will only charge from wall or solar not both at once it takes four hours to charge it from the wall with an extra battery so I wish it would accept a little more input this only has Bluetooth no Wi-fi so it has limited range there's no wireless charger solar input is limited to 60 volts and ideally that would be closer to 100 or even 150. the solar parallel connector definitely needs some work there's no inputs or outputs on the extra battery lastly I don't like that it automatically reduces the ac voltage if you exceed the 2400 watt Max on the inverter I'd rather just tripped an overload hopefully that can be added as an app setting in the future all in all these are pretty minor complaints I think this is definitely one of the best options if you're shopping for an expandable two kilowatt hour power station but how does it stack up to the competition the blue 80 ac200 Max has a 1600 street price that's about 400 cheaper and it has wireless charging more DC output options and can dual charge from AC and solar at the same time it can be expanded up to eight kilowatt hours with two extra batteries each has DC and USB outputs plus built-in solar charger which is a great feature however the inverter and solar charging is a bit less powerful it only has a single 100 watt USBC Port but the biggest downsides are the loud 500 watt wall charger brick with a fan that never shuts off high standby losses no UPS feature and questionable customer support with a limited two-year warranty it's definitely worth a look and it's probably the closest competitor to the anchor the zendor Super Bass Pro 1500 sells for 1 399 and is similar to the 767 in that it has an integrated handle on Wheels it has more powerful wall charging faster ups and dual charge from AC and solar and includes Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity however the lfp model has a much smaller 1.5 kilowatt hour battery less powerful AC inverter and isn't expandable so it's not really in the same league ecoflow is usually my go-to recommendation and their Delta Max 2000 currently sells for 1 899 which is 100 cheaper however it's the last ecoflow model using older NCM battery chemistry and it doesn't best the anchor in any important ways so I really can't recommend this right now that said I'm sure this will be updated very soon so stay tuned because that might LeapFrog ahead there are some very good options out there but the Ankara 767 deserves a very serious look it's that good it's probably the unit I'd go for if I was shopping right now for a two kilowatt hour expandable power station all right let's wrap this up I'm happy to see a reputable brand like anchor enter this space it's clear they've done their homework and are taking aim at the top brands by matching the best features and adding their own Innovations like Gan technology to the market the anchor Powerhouse 767 is definitely my top pick for a camper van build because it's so easy to use efficient and amazingly quiet it's also a great choice for backing up key appliances during a power outage at your home with its expandable battery and Powerful inverter that can run any single phase Appliance you can throw at it let me know what you think of the 767 in the comments and if you like this review please give it a thumbs up I have some exciting new reviews lined up so please consider subscribing thanks everyone till next time
