AN ANGEL THAT FEARS MORTALS? BIRTH OF IKARI BROKUTA Dragon Ball Super Dark Angel Full Story (so far)

part one begins with an overlook as to one of the buildings that the angels can make and this one looks exactly like whis's staff or even mirrors staff it looks exactly like that but we are followed with a tremendous explosion and of course the most iconic scene from this fan animation but what follows next is probably the most interesting part of this chapter in my opinion take a look [Music] [Music] with dark angel kuro holding broly by his neck broly begins an onslaught of punches but they aren't having any effect so he relies back on his training even though he is more of a savage brawler it seems that he has gotten some training and has developed a brand new technique where he wraps his fist with his own particular key and he uses that to supercharge his punches leading to a crack in what looks like a force field or a key force field around kuro the dark angel he cracks it and this is enough to piss kuru off where he throws broly into the distance we then are transported hours before this moment where goku and vegeta are sent on a mission by the supreme kai he is sending goku and vegeta on a mission to seal kuro kuru has been awakened he is one of the dark angels where he has a lot of malevolent ki and he is the big bad for the angels and he was put to sleep a long time ago but because goku i guess goku is the cause of most troubles in these universes but goku brought the other omni king to this timeline this had a domino effect that led to kuro's release and this is why he is awake right now so they need to go and seal him up before it is too late so they asked the obvious question why not send like a god of destruction who is far stronger than them why not send him to deal with kuro and the answer honestly is extremely simple that is because kuro is consumed by malevolent ki that any person any being that has the god of destruction ki and power is liable to fall to the dark side if they are within his range for far too long similar to how moro sucks up all the key the longer you fight him if beerus or god of destructions were allowed to fight him they would slowly be corrupted and fall to the dark side and that is the reason they are sending goku and vegeta which i think is a very legitimate reason i definitely think that this is the best play and i'm glad that they explained this because this would be a potential plot hole if it wasn't explained thoroughly after this explanation we are sent back to the battlefield at the current time and it seems that goku and vegeta were too late to seal kuro and this is where we get a really really cool action scene where we see an explosion of key and a revelation for broly here take a look [Music] so i just gotta say the transformation sequence for broly is phenomenal here he transforms into super saiyan blue but he's still surrounded by the akari green energy so it looks very similar to how mixed the colors were in dragon ball super broly when goku transformed into super saiyan blue it looks similar to that but with an outline of green because it is specific to broly and i definitely like this aesthetic and he definitely looks really badass here and i definitely like the design that broly has in this animation there have been a lot of designs of future broly but there have been a few that have shown him with a black tight-fitted long-sleeve shirt and i like that design the best for a future broly in my opinion but we get the explanation here that goku has been training broly secretly since the broly movie and he has actually taught him how to go into super saiyan blue mainly due to the fact that broly cannot control his powers so super saiyan blue and the tranquility that comes with it is going to help him sustain that transformation the akari the the legendary transformation better and be able to be more clear-headed with it so the tranquil nature of super saiyan blue is definitely a helping aid for broly to master his true form which i definitely like that explanation so we begin this episode with vegeta telling goku that there is a need now to fuse usually vegeta is against fusion but at this point in time he's like this is our only option i'm not usually the one to first say it you are but let's go ahead and fuse and goku is also surprised as well and he's willing to do it obviously no matter what goku said back in dragon ball z he's always up to fuse and that's when they hear from king kai who warns them that their job was not to confront kuro their job was to seal him up before he became too powerful now he is too powerful to seal up and so they need to retreat and live to fight another day but vegeta actually does some thinking i like that he's the strategic one and he tells king kai that listen right now kuro is just beginning to understand and develop his powers he is basically recharging because he has just been released and at first i'm thinking okay vegeta how are you knowing that are you just going to be talking out of your ass but no he explains that when broly was punching kuro and the shielding around kuro cracked that was a sign that kuro is not at his utmost powerful especially since goku says that kuro has the same sense and feeling as the grand priest that means that at his ultimate power he would be that strong as the grand priest so right now they may be able to do some damage to him and weaken him enough to seal him back up but they need to do it now king kai understands this but he doesn't believe that even with the supreme power of gogeta that that's going to be enough to take on kuro but there is a second option another fusion that they could do basically stacking fusions that could be their only way out this could be their only solution and i cannot wait to see the results of this because we actually cut at this point too the immensely pleasurable smooth ass [ __ ] silk fight between broly and kuro where broly's shooting whatever he can at kuro but kuro detonates all those blasts before they even reach him broly comes in with a haymaker but kuro stops it and he is actually quite impressed as to how strong broly actually is at this point we get into a flurry of animation where kuro sends a dozen or so energy balls key attacks at broly going through the air and then we get this amazing scene check it out [Music] [Music] [Music] all right so normally when a opponent in dragon ball shoots a volley of ki blast at their opponent like a thousand of them or so just you know any of vegeta's normal techniques essentially usually we don't see what happens usually we just see an explosion and the character just keeps shooting into that explosion and that dust doesn't really see what's going on doesn't see where his key blasts are hitting and so after that they get blindsided because they can't see their opponent that's usually how these go this one goes where these key blasts are actually acting like homing missiles and they're following broly and he is punching them away from him but then he realizes there's too many of them and this is where time stops and he is able to in just a few seconds punch a bunch of them away into hyperdrive but he doesn't get all of them and gets hit with one throwing him back now at this point broly is cornered by these key blasts and they are all surrounding him about to annihilate him completely or at least do significant enough damage and that is when goku comes in with instant transmission and takes broly away and we realize that wasn't goku that was actually gogeta and i honestly love this part where broly's like it's you but what are you i love that he's in shock to see gogeta because it almost feels like he hasn't seen gogeta since gogeta almost killed him back in dragon ball super broly so the shock on his face is understandable and this is where we get to the really crazy stuff so we find out that gogeta or goku has todd broly the fusion dance so right now they are going to stack fusions they already have goku and vegeta fused together into gogeta now they are going to use gogeta and broly and fuse them together into a single entity and kuro is looking for broly theorizing whether he ran away but that doesn't seem to fit broly's style maybe he just disappeared and that is when we get the fusion at long last and it just looks so cool the entire transformation sequence almost feels like when the power rangers go into the megazord or the equivalent happens in voltron where all these pieces are coming together to form one single being which is really really cool and the effects of the key breaking like glass like shattering their limits is palpable this is [ __ ] awesome and we finally get to see the big boy himself not sure what his name is because i'm watching this with you guys at the moment but this character absolutely looks like a fusion between all three of them kuro attacks him sensing danger sensing a real threat he attacks him right away only to have his attack completely cut into pieces by this new fusion who has a look of gogeta but with broly's shirt and that is where he finally introduces himself as the ultimate power of what the fusion of saiyans can produce and that is the combined power of goku broly and vegeta a triple fusion that is called brokuda and that is where he faces off against kuro oh [Music] so right off the bat we get probably the most believable thing of this entire dragon ball fan animation and that is the fact that a three-way fusion would probably be unstable as all hell it probably wouldn't be able to hold together very long or very strong and wouldn't allow the user to maintain super saiyan or super saiyan blue transformations basically a fusion that is being held together by rubber bands and chewing gum so i definitely like that they mentioned this and this is a huge part of the story where king kai is like this three-way fusion is not going to last ever since three-way fusion well actually ever since fusions themselves not just three-way ever since fusions themselves have been nerfed this has been an ongoing struggle with the writers as to how to write fusion and make it interesting so right off the bat we're playing with dragon ball super rules let's see exactly what happens luckily they have a plan it looks like we have crashed yet another party for bulma where she's giving away the dragon balls as a prize which i think is just a crazy prize to give to anybody because they can literally wish for anything we've seen how strong these things are but it looks like this fight is happening in another dimension because the only reason they brought bulma along chile and krillin was because she has a wormhole drive something that goes through universes which is a really cool technology for bulma to have actually it is something that keeps around in the story long enough because at this point in time to travel between universes all you need is the ship that whis has or whis himself and unfortunately he's not going to do it all the time so bulma being able to invent something at this caliber it kind of brings her power level of invention up to the main power levels of everybody else who are god-like because she can push through time and stuff like that so this is a really cool plot point mainly because they're going to use the dragon balls to stabilize the fusion let's see if shenron has enough juice to do that that was a wicked exchange so what ends up happening is that we see brokuda and his three-way fusion at play we see fighting techniques from not only goku we see the dodging from goku the strikes from vegeta and right at the end the unpredictable nature of broly it was a great way to showcase how each one is different and each one affects the fusion slh you did a great job doing this all in one sequence but it shows that kuro is a lot faster a lot stronger and has almost ultra instinct well probably does seeing us how he's an angel has ultra instinct in his grasp so he's just dodging everything that brokuda is aiming at him [Music] the wish is granted and we get the assist where it stabilizes the fusion whatever that means i don't know if that means the fusion's permanent now or it lasts longer um it's a really interesting way to use the dragon balls to affect fusion if the dragon balls had the power to affect fusion i'm sure the cerulean ones would i don't know about the earth ones but what we get after that is a super saiyan blue confrontation with kuro but at this point in time it looks like kuro is probably using ultra instinct if you really pay attention to kuro's movements and the way he's animated it looks like uh it looks like slh took some feedback or at least some examples from the fight sequence between moro and miros because that is probably the closest we'll get to see an angel in canon fight against anybody or immortal basically and yeah it looks like basically brokuda is either facing off against mirrors or facing off against whis the same way that he's dodging and moving it's basically what's going on here right [Music] [Music] kuro blasts brokuda with a tentacle key attack that follows him around and comes in all different directions almost like a hydra rokuta is attempting to take down these tentacles with just normal blast or slow him down but that's not enough so he's gotta go into keyblades and it looks like they're like super saiyan blue key knives which i think is a nice touch i definitely am a huge fan of whenever any dragon ball character uses ki as a weapon like a sword or a shield or spear that's always gonna get me and i like it here a lot sorry i had to stop it here okay so brocuta has access to the ghost kamikaze attack you know me and you've been a fan of the channel you know i'm not a fan of go tanks like at all and i think that ghost kamikaze attack is probably one of his most annoying and obnoxious attacks like i cannot stand like the donut one too i just can't stand go tanks at all and this is like this caught me by surprise this is like i don't know it look cool like it basically they're all brokunas but they have access to the key knives so let's see how this let's see this works out because he just made himself an army of explodable ghost that that sounds pretty cool honestly that's basically what gotenks has been trying to do but uh i think brokuda is gonna be able to pull it off let's see this is the proper way to use ghost kamikaze attack let them take the hits that you cannot or you don't want to and that's exactly what's going on here he's using them to cut down the tentacles the hydra attack that kuro has been manifesting against him up until he gets around his face using solar flare to try to get a hit on kuro but realizing that there is probably like a 90 chance which there is that kuro is using ultra and this thing because kuro with his eyes closed dodges it but this pushes kuro in a direction where the ghost kamikaze attacks are going to strike him or they're going to grab on to him that's exactly what brokuda wanted that's what he he wanted to do he wanted to slow him down and catch him because all kuro was doing is dodging i don't know why i like this line delivery he's like i gotcha uh or maybe not it just sounds like that part is influenced more by goku a bunch of dialogue here but basically it's what i was saying it's the ultra instinct that is affecting the battle because brokuda should be as powerful as kuro if not a little bit stronger but it's the ultra instinct that's giving him a hard time even though goku can or should be at least at this point being able to go into ultra instinct if we're going by dbs manga rules then vegeta should be able to go into ultra eagle as well but probably not for this animation and maybe if goku can do it on his own but he can't do it in a fusion we can't pull it out in a fusion because the other two can't do it that makes sense as well although i think that that's what we're gearing up to we're gonna get an ultra instinct fusion versus an ultra instinct angel fight but the angel and master of ultra instinct is just going to basically wait out the time of the fusion if the fusion still has a time limit and by this time that way do oh oh [ __ ] okay that was pretty cool so kuo could have waited out the fusion to defuse but kuro is here for a battle he's having too much fun so he's not for all that but he decides to take out the allies that are helping brokuda so that way he doesn't have any more surprises in store and so he destroys the allies it's a sound plan it's a strategic plan you want to take out the allies and the support before you take out the big bad which in this case is from cuda the big bad is him but taking out the three loved ones of the guy that is that you're fighting and it's a saiyan it's probably not the best play i mean what we got here krillin chili and bulma those are literally the three main loved ones of the three saiyans you're fighting so this might backfire immensely [Music] so all right this is probably one of the most epic transformation sequences that i have ever seen and brokuda didn't do anything else more than transform or at least start using the akari form that broly is so famous for because he starts transforming in an instant after realizing that more than likely i mean unless it's a miracle happens those three are dead because this is an angel attacking them i'm assuming that he's not going to miss or they're not going to be strong enough to defend it and block it's only cruel it's only like three like power two powerless beings and one that is weak as hell and so this transformation sequences it's so cool the main thing that i realized from this is that a lot of this looks like it's drawn out of chalk i don't know if you guys are getting that too but i'm not saying that as a dig or a bad thing i'm saying that as an awesome thing this is a really cool um design choice it's not something that you see a lot in fan animations not even just specifically dragon ball like any other fan animation you don't normally see that with and in this you definitely see it and it's it's really cool to look at like it's just it feels like a chalk zone i don't know if you guys remember chocson back in the day i'm probably dating myself at this point but it's a old nickelodeon cartoon maybe it's gonna be a nicktoon smash but yeah it's basically just chalk characters it looks just like that but the hair color swapping out through all the rainbows all the colors of the rainbow when i first saw that i thought we were going into super saiyan rainbow territory but i like that it's just showing the progression and like it's like similar to the dbs broly aesthetic where the transformation for blue was so epic and we also saw like a little bit of ultra instinct in that that's basically what's going on here really awesome this transformation sequence like i had to watch it a few times because it was so awesome really great work slh you did awesome here brown [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] bro ultra instinct on its own which is what it is it's autonomous basically on its own decided to make itself a bubble of protection it does that automatically if it feels if it feels that it cannot match the speed of the opponent if it feels like the opponent's stronger and faster it'll make a bubble that way it doesn't it doesn't have to overwork itself like it knows that it can't win so it makes defensive shield that's something that coral has never had to deal with so he's also surprised but beerus is saying that brokuda is now this powerful that he that ultra instinct doesn't is doesn't know what to do with him basically it's not going to be able to dodge and first blood is drawn and it is the angel's blood the blood of the angels basically brokuta as you guys just saw he instantly attacked kuro but he can't get through the shield by force he used instant transmission in that moment that was it was very fast and pops inside the shield and punches kuro bakuro is a monster because he did not know that brokuda was going to use instant transmission because he's surprised about it and his ultra instinct is just that in tune and so masterful that it dodged that unknowability and and barely that's why he got cut it's a
