Solitude thank you so much for joining and uh pretty excited today because I'm just heading over to my rental car and I think we're gonna go on a little bit of a road trip and this is going to be a nice Journey because we're gonna go to the Amish Country Pennsylvania Dutch and I heard there was a spectacular buffet in fact the largest buffet in the United States it's called the Shady Maple and I've seen a lot of good reviews about it just watching for the taxi it's a bit of a drive so that would be a great way to work up the appetite so I hope you're hungry I know I am so without further Ado uh we're just gonna grab our rental car and uh we'll go on a trip thank you again come on let's go foreign through the bridges and now entering Pennsylvania gorgeous Drive beautiful landscapes and at last we have arrived and I'm a little bit early for the lunch buffet so I've been exploring the Shady Naples Farmers Market really interesting I think it started as a stand in 1950s and look at it now gorgeous Market lots of produce and the prepared food section it's endless it just goes on and on and on and then the deli goes on and on and on as well and if the buffet is anything like the that you have cried I heard it's the largest buffet in the U.S well that's what they say they are well I think there's one way to find out uh pretty hungry can I get a table absolutely have a birthday today no it's it's a little bit later so if you had a birthday today I say our free birthday meal if you want the ID to prove it yeah another paid guest stuff things you did not I'm assuming that you're in this age bracket is that correct I not a senior yes yes speaking to our staff they use it to reserve your seat and it shows that one person paid for lunch so I've got the ticket and Alva and Haven are absolutely amazing they told me to walk down to that big picture over there and I'll be seated and I can't wait to go for some Wonderful Buffet but let me show you this picture here beautiful and if it looks like there's some depth to it that's because there is intricate 3D pictures here and as I was exploring here earlier we see these wonderful works of art all along the wall and I think we're ready for the buffet I live how are you yeah there you go oh thank you this is gorgeous here all the lighting yeah first time so nice to be at a table here at I guess uh one of the largest buffet in Amish Buffet thanks to Liz and Alva really great folks here and let me show you this room here this is huge so this is the booth section here and right down there are all the tables where people are gathering and celebrating with endless dishes and plates of buffet goodness and I can't wait I think we're gonna check out the buffet and let's see how large this is I think there's one way to find out if this is the largest buffet in the US uh come on let's go so this is pretty impressive rows of stations and to the left you've got grilling stations oh and I see it gets better is that brisket I see certainly looks like it on the screen and also looks like it on the grill this is during their transition from breakfast to lunch so you get the best of both worlds but it's kind of hard to know where to start so I guess we'll just start Midway through this row of endless stations I think we can start with the dessert section just gonna grab a plate starting with the first station a healthy one so this is Midway through the rose of station we've got some salads and a little bit of shrimp okay that's looking really good just a little bit so normally I skip the salad station but look at this I'm pretty impressed here because over there you see a sign hot bacon dressing oh we gotta give that a try a little bit of greens not a lot little tomato for color and that's a necessary evil for the hot bacon dressing and I think this is it here okay right on the salad with a bit of croutons and my favorite salad of all time potato oh macaroni salad so this is pretty cool they've got more they've got some beets and these round little things those are pickled eggs never had a pickled egg before especially a red one let's give it a try there we go and it's getting a little bit cold outside so I think some nice soups are in order cream of mushroom chicken noodle chili I think that's ham and oh and this is chicken pot pie in soup form okay and the pastry and now we're coming up to one of many hot food stations I think there's way too many foods to try so there's no way we can try everything all right oh beautiful haddock and we'll mix the cold and the hot a little bit of biscuits and some wonderful gravy okay so this is really difficult you gotta practice restraint and that's something that's really hard to do because look at this okay we pause these meatballs looks so good this is ham right there try it here some hot wings and chicken wings let's go for one of these and these are huge with barely enough room so that's pretty amazing that's just one station of many and here's another one some cheese and we have the Breads and they've got some sweet desserts scattered throughout the buffet and some more hot food some veggies and rice and and barbecue pork and I think that looks like chicken over there let's go for a little bit of the barbecue pork all right let's see what's next more comfort and goodness oh a bit of corn nice crispy french fries not a lot and the only way to do broccoli is with cheese a lot of cheese on the other end this is scalloped horn some barbecue beans and of course the mac and cheese not too much and there's more some deep fried goodness so a bit of Turkey and this is row speed nice and tender a little bit of gravy that stuffing looks really good chicken tenders but I think we'll need to try a seafood croquette and nestled right between the pork and the fries and off to the other side this is a sauerkraut and this white bright goodness mashed potatoes okay right in the center hope I'm not holding you up there a little bit of chicken gravy and beef gravy say a little bit of each and a bit of chicken gravy right on the side for the fries and I think that's all I can handle for the first round but look at this station wonderful Grill what is this yes thank you so much every day I take one oh excellent thank you very good oh thank you all right so this is looking pretty good all right so this is the first round and I think that's all I can do for round one because there's so many other good stations here I see a lot of fried chicken seafood and I can't wait to visit the grill stations all that wonderful grilled goodness but I think I need a coffee first cheers to you very nice I think I'm gonna try the salad first never had a hot bacon dressing let's give it a try but in order to do that we need to shift the chicken wings aside and just go in for it um very interesting salad is really fresh the bacon dressing is warm and a little bit sweet and you can't go wrong with the Crouton cheers hmm very nice no can't wait to try that deep fried goodness which is the seafood croquette oh let's break that in okay I think it's a little bit of potato a little bit of seafood inside and a little bit more potatoes from the mashed potatoes on the outside um not bad crispy coating on the outside and a fluffy potatoes Seafood goodness with a bit of herbs for freshness and I think you'll need a little bit of gravy very nice gotta cut into that roast beef that should be just perfectly tender and it is absolutely pork tender with a bit of potatoes and the beef barely holds together and it doesn't all right here we go oh that is very good succulent and tender Rich gravy and a little bit of potato for that extra creaminess oh very nice A little bit of mac and cheese for that winter Comfort goodness or a lot well that's so good and speaking of comforting goodness as Ali recommended that warm creamy seafood soup to warm our souls let's give that a try oh light rock lots of seafood oh not rich seafoody goodness a little bit of freshness and sweetness of the ocean and a little bit of cream really refreshing and comforting the only thing is we need a bigger spoon but I think I know what's going to make that better remember the seafood Fritter okay so nothing better than a seafood Fritter in the cream of seafood soup hmm Seafood on Seafood a very good thing so there's gonna be so many more stations gotta go for that Fried Chicken and the wonderful grilled station with I think all the Philly cheese steak the brisket so we'll go for round two and three and four maybe even up to seven I'll take you back cheers round one complete in record time and that was an absolute pleasure the biscuits and chicken gravy although it didn't look like much that gravy was absolutely Heavenly the best I've ever had so flavorful so luscious and that meatball was a ham meatball never had anything like it nice and sweet and succulent oh and that pickled egg not really my taste a bit of cognitive dissonance there with the funny colors and unfortunately I'll need to leave that behind but now let's go for round number two with a grill station and I think a lot of the good fried chicken come on let's go oh and what a wonderful sign all you can eat and let's see oh the grill station hi Jade how are you good not too bad I saw you cooking up a storm earlier on yeah it looks absolutely amazing and can I get some Philly cheesesteak oh yes please uh sure a little bit oh thank you oh that's all thank you and I see you have some brisket over there as well yes we've cooked that for 13 hours that's more awesome if it is well done yeah can I have some yeah oh thank you so tender thanks again Jade oh my goodness look at that wonderful fat there oh thank you so much enjoy your meal so not too bad as a first start to round two and I see Ally there hooking up a storm as well hey Ally hello oh fantastic that that seafood soup was superb oh and look at this brisket not bad eh and you know what might go good with the brisket maybe the potato pancake that'd be nice oh can I have a potato pancake and then maybe a corn Fritter yup oh yeah awesome thank you this puts Health in it oh yes applesauce applesauce all right so time is of the essence that brisket is getting colder and colder by the second but I gotta go for that wonderful fried chicken and let's check this out first oh my goodness these are huge so the chicken is absolutely massive I think there's more not sure what this is but I think there's only one way to find out let's see yeah Gourmet something and moving on fried shrimp and we got a couple here a straggler oh and it keeps getting better and better that grilled shrimp looks absolutely amazing wonderful sauce and I'm so glad I got to explore the first round and I think with all that fried goodness and that chicken some wonderful chicken gravy would hit the spot and I returned to the biscuits and chicken gravy section and I'm just gonna get a nice dollop of that wonderful chicken gravy Ladle number one and ladle number two okay so with all the wonderful hot food I had to make round two a very expeditious one because I don't want the brisket to get cold nor the Fried Chicken so without further Ado let's dig in all right a little bit of a knife I don't think we even need the knife and fork or at least the knife this just pulls apart oh my goodness all right let's give that a try um that brisket is absolutely tender and as shade said cook for 13 hours and it shows that fat is nice and Luscious and just melts in your mouth oh it just goes down so easily I can't wait to try that Philly cheesesteak oh when you come here get the brisket get the Philly cheesesteak absolutely Divine because that bun is soft and tender and even more soft and tender is that meat with a grilled onions and the cheese and it's full to the brim oh really nice that bread is just like a cloud and much needed to soak up all that meaty goodness but I think we want to try the potato pancake next okay nice and crispy again thanks to Ally and Jade for this wonderful plate a little bit of sour cream and no applesauce oh very good the potato pancake is light and fluffy with a bit of crispness and that luscious Rich sour cream hmm and as good as the potato pancake is I can't imagine how good the corn Fritter is and one way to find out oh it just pulls apart lots of corn a little bit of sour cream very good crispy the sweetness of the Corn and with that time to dig into the fried chicken and the only way to do it is with our hands but look at how crispy and crunchy this is mmm for Speed skin and moist succulent dark meat really nice and tender and juicy I remember the chicken gravy I think we're gonna dip the Fried Chicken in that wonderful chicken gravy a little bit of the skin and the meat and dunk it all the way in nice and crispy and that wonderful gravy just adds so much more to it kind of like the Filipino style chicken and wonderful gravy yeah chicken Joy Amish style and I think when I dig into those shrimp and with our hands and this was a straggler nope then a little bit of gravy cheers really good job on the breaded shrimp nice and crispy butterflied and the batter is well proportioned very nice so again I'm gonna finish this quickly before it gets too cold and we'll take you back for dessert but this is Shady Maples and it's 16.16.17 dollars incredible deal wonderful Seafood and the meats here are definitely succulent and tender and flavorful definitely come here for plates after plates of meat and I think I need a little bit of a break nothing like a Dr Pepper at a buffet cheers back at the buffet area watching all the hard-working folks and I think we're gonna go for a little bit of dessert man as good as the meats were they were filling but I think there's always room for a little bit of dessert and there it is right over there wonderful assortments of pies and cakes and the best pie ever the whoopie pie and as good as the pies are there's a bottom row with puddings but I think I gotta go for some of those pies I think I think this one looks pretty good I would say a custard pie yeah I take it coconut oh I love coconut all right comes highly recommended and I can't wait oh and moving on some hot food and right down there the best type of cake ice cream right over there so going light on the dessert because all those meats while delicious were really filling but always a little bit of room for dessert and a little bit of dessert is what we have and this can't wait to give this a try the coconut cream pie that comes highly recommended oh wonderful flaky pastry refilling oh fantastic pie not too sweet and just the smoothest custard you'll ever see and the pastry at the bottom is nice and light so that you can have many many more without filling up um very nice and of course the best cake of them all ice cream cake oh and this is actual cake with ice cream in the center um can't think of a more perfect combination dark Rich luscious chocolate cake and a cool refreshing vanilla ice cream and blue at the top very nice so this is Shady Maple
