it's not investigation unit we're back back  again snack investigation unit worldwide   this the gospel of snack has been growing  the subscribers have been growing it's really   been exciting and cool to see people responding  but the biggest response without a doubt has come   from india um we've done two i think yeah  two indian snack videos and i have to say   they were delicious lots of people were  begging asking nicely demanding in some cases   saying please please make some more snacks  from india and specifically indian sweets   so we went to the indian market we took your  suggestions we asked people at the indian market   to give us a list of all the great suites that  we could get we made a few friends we made a   few friends um i'm excited these are a good  assortment of indian sweets and even drinks for   the first time here based on some suggestions  from viewer comments all right let's do this so before we start we have to go back  to when we're at the indian market   we have to go back to what we  love the most which is jalebi no i know i read all your  comments you read the comments   people are saying we should get it fresh we should  get it hot all those things we don't have that   near us so the only thing we have is this  store-bought jalebi um there's no one on the   streets of our town like selling gelatin i wish  there was because if it was i'd buy it but still   this is delicious we're cleaning our pallets  with some jalebi all right let's go all right   first up this was requested a drink it's lychee  juice drink from mazza if you want to come in and   get a good look at it um it looks pretty good it  does it says irresistibly good i don't know if we   shake it does it say anything can't hurt it says  lychee is related to the rambutan you'll love it   sweet juicy taste and lovely perfume we bring ours  from madagascar island where small-scale farmers   harvest the succulent lychee fruit pearls they  call them pearls i guess these things all right   you ready we'll give it a good explode no no it's  not fizzy no it's not fizzy oh that smells good   yeah there you go that's how you know it's fresh  it's like a snapple bottle cheers i'm strong that's good that is it's sweet but it's not overwhelmingly  have you ever had a lychee nut i've never   have you yes because my dad is  obsessed really he used to be you know yes but i couldn't tell you where i  don't think i've ever even seen one   we'll have to i've had a lychee japanese soda  you have it doesn't taste like this this is   good but this is this is like what's the i'm  thinking the word refreshing yeah definitely   it's a little sweet but it's not  like sugary you know what it's   like you know how pineapple juice is like it feels  like you're drinking sugar yeah this doesn't feel   like it feels actually like it might be good for  you looking at the the bottle it's 150 calories   so i don't know how actually good it is how  much sugar is in the bottle uh it doesn't say   35 grams oh yeah yeah that's a lot of sugar i've  been some blind still i really like it alright so   for this episode because there's too many  things we're going to go through we're   not going to rank we're just going to say  scale of one to ten what we thought eight   yeah eight point three really really good i could  definitely see myself drinking a lot of this   all right next up at the store and from  your comments a lot not you specifically   if you were watching the people's comments  they said you got to do la du la du la du la   remember at the store we met a nice woman  a nice indian woman in the store who said   oh you're doing indian sweets you had to have  laru so this is what it is laddu multi-shore   from diplom and it says the traditional suite so  here we go this is really interesting we had to   defrost this it was frozen we had to frost  it it looks like there's like if you want to   come in there's like uh sprinkles sprinkles  of some sort on there all right you ready cheers it's different it's different it's not it doesn't seem like it's gross you  guys it's not bad you don't know what to think   it's not i don't know what to think i don't know  what it tastes like right i just don't know okay   second bite first of all is it defrosted  enough it is okay it is it's like a cake yeah   it tastes like an indian cake i thought when it  was frozen it was going to be like an ice cream   type of thing but it's definitely as you  can see here it's definitely a cake oh yeah   and it's sweet it's nice i don't love it like  i love jalebi yup but i definitely don't hate   this yeah i don't hate it and i don't  love it it's good right okay um i can   see why people might like this though it's just  definitely not my style more say but it's not   gross by any means and it's it's definitely  something to put it out there i would eat it   yeah all right scale of one to ten four  and a half i'd say six point three okay   all right next up we have i hope i'm saying  this right rasmalai rasmalai i think that's   probably what it is razmalai by nanak it  says it's a traditional indian dessert   soft patties and a delicately sweetened and  flavored creamy milk sauce okay let's just show   in and come look at this this again had to be  frozen brook says it looks like mashed potatoes   it does look a little like mashed potatoes all  right so here we go i'm gonna just dig right in you were scared to try it i know but i like that  it's sweet i don't love this i need to give it you   like it better than the other one yeah that's  good tastes like ice cream so the second bite   i like better than the first can you taste  the pistachio a little bit they're like   all over it on the top on the top you can  see the pistachio i actually like the milk   better than the patties like the milk is really  okay most people don't eat milk with a fork but   you do you but again like i like it i don't love  it i like that you do all right scale of 1 to 10   6. i'm gonna go 5.8 what's with the  points it's just how i do it it's okay   single numbers aren't good enough  whole numbers needs to be specific   all right next up it's halderongs we did haul the  rums before with the mix which i really liked this   is gula i hope i'm saying this right gulab jamun  curved dumplings and cardamon flavored sugar syrup   and they look like these apparently i think these  are like super popular yes that's what they said   all right let's do it so these were like bathed  in syrup here if you wanna you wanna look at this   that's a lot of syrup so i'm like all sticky   you gotta move the can out of  the way i can't sorry cheers that's actually pretty good i like that it's not like me oh there's  a double bite it's not like maple syrup   you know what this is reminding me the same  thing yeah we get a napkin um it reminds me of   the honeyness of jalen of jalebi  which is maybe why i like this i can definitely see it it's  messy it's definitely messy   you probably should have used a fork but maybe maybe that's what indians do but i just assumed it was a way in is it a  hand food or a fork food by the way i like it   i like it it's good it's good all right so  scale of one to ten i'm gonna go seven because   i don't like how much seed is so was your  friend tara right that those are really good   yeah i'm gonna say 7.2 i really like these  all right next up another drink badam drink   or bottom how did they say it do you remember  bottom i think dairy beverage with almond bits   interesting real bits of almonds see  interesting almonds all right you ready   do you know how to do that you can't do it  there you go all right here we go cheers i don't really like that i don't like  that either there's actual chunks yeah   almond look one even came out on the top here  you can see it right there wait let me just i   don't think i could drink let me give it one  more chance i personally like chunky things no that's definitely it's very creamy it's  like it's like drinking coffee cream yeah   yeah with chunks of almonds in  it that's what that tastes like   it's like coffee would you put it  in your coffee that might actually   be good if you put it in your coffee but i'm not  a fan of badam definitely not compared to this where's mine lychee is good but dom not  so much all right what's your rating   a 3.8 yeah i'm going to go 3.5 not a fan all right  next up we have from again from haldaram's i hope   i'm saying this right so on papi traditional  indian flaky sweets with almond and pistachios   this wow you just said pistachio  what's wrong with pistachio pistachio   are you british pistachio would you like  a cup of tea with your pistachio pistachio   pistachio potato no but you want pistachio but  it just just how it felt comfortable coming up   okay let's go so this is what did you say it looks  like insulation it does it's a look bring this in   it's a very weird totally looks like insulation  it feels weird and flaky but here we go here we go that's pretty good actually  that's kind of delicious   our friend called it a little  bite of heaven it's very airy   it does have a little bit of the um the chalkiness  to it a little bit does it taste like pistachio   a little bit it's i can't even  describe this texture look at that   it looks like insulation it's string no you  know what it looks like that hamster hay   but i do i do like it it tastes like you like  a bit into oh here comes story time a piece   of chalk and then but the chalk has like this  sweetness to it and then but the chalk and the   sweetness is also inside of insulation wow you're  like yeah that's what it tastes like i like this   yep see she's eating more of it it's good it's  just a very weird consistency and very messy yeah   it's messy like even when you it comes in this  if you want to bring it in here and to even cut   it it like got all messed up and we didn't really  do much to it but it is good i like this i wonder   if we're not eating it the right way probably  not i bet we're not eating this the right way   still i like this all right scale of one  to ten eight i'm going to say 7.9 delicious   all right next up we have from nirav ambar i  think that's how you say aam ambar mango bar um   it i'm not this doesn't look the best but again  this was highly maybe it's like a fruit roll-up   right that's probably what it could  be all right let's give it a shot   this was very hard to unravel at least 10  minutes at least 10 minutes sticky sticky   sticky but this is the best we could do so i'm  sure it's probably not supposed to look like   this but it's very sticky brook there's plastic  you still got the glass don't eat that part   yeah there's still plastic on it the way  it was wrapped here we go okay here we go no that's not good does it taste like mango  no no that's a very weird oh i'm sorry india i love a lot of your snacks and sweets  this is not one of them like lychee drink   delicious this oh bad this is not  my cup of tea i'm sure a lot of   people love it not for me what do you  think i don't like it very much yeah   the time release is happening too i mean i could  see why people would eat it but i personally would   not eat this yeah all right scale of one to ten  one yeah i'm gonna go a 1.3 right next up from   botania we've had britannia before too chocolate  flavored premium cream wafers yum this first   of the smell smells so good secondly it looks  really good it's very good all right here we go yeah that's delicious no how come brooks  broke in half in your students oh mine would   i just didn't do that but um yeah that's  that's okay okay brooks on her like fifth bite   that's really good this is actually  so we have an american version of this   but ours feels heavier if that makes sense  this feels lighter airier crispier than the   american version of this i really like  this what do you think it's amazing yeah   this is amazing scale of one to ten  i'm going to give it a 9.6 fantastic   all right next up we have rasgulia or rasgulla  sorry there's no i rasgulla again from alderaan's   cheese curd round dumplings and rose flip rose  flavored sugar syrup what was this one cardamom   syrup cardamom syrup which is cinnamon as i've  learned yeah all right let's do it okay so if   we can bring it in just like the other one it  was deep and brown like sip maple sugar thing   this looks very like white white juicy kind  of substance and here if you look at these   in in there what we've gotten there they just  look like two little white balls really okay all right here we go my my wife is very immature  your daughter started it yeah here we go i don't like that that's good it's not great  but it's pretty is it better than the other one   yeah no i like the other one better is it tasty  it's glob you like better yeah but rasgulla is not   bad it's just not something i would seek out again  we could totally be eating this the wrong way and   i bet when we see the comments like i'd be like  what are you doing eating it out of the jar but   it says you can right it says it on the can it  said you know you can either where is it i was   reading it earlier serving suggestions remove  a portion and serve after 15 minutes up so no   we didn't even eat it right what happens  in 15 minutes i don't know what happens   in 15 minutes i thought i read that right i  read it wrong i apologize we'll go back and   give it another shot later all right next up  from britannia what gobbles gobbles fruitcake   uh again britannia is a big brand we've learned  and this looks interesting so we'll give it a shot   all right we're back it  came in a big loaf like this   and as you can see there is like fruit uh  like gummy type things i think on the top yeah   looks like fruit gummy type taste bun well we'll  try them when we get it you gotta get it as well that wasn't english but okay that's  actually pretty good it's moist does   it make you want to gobble that's what they  call it it's good it's good though it is good it's got a really sweet but not  overwhelmingly sweet taste what's with the arm i guess that's the snacking pose i like this um  since she's laughing i'm gonna give this uh 8.5   i like this this is good i'm gonna go with an  eight because the gummies i wanted you to try   the gummy alone to see like what it is yeah it's  like a fruit garden why are you eating it like   that because i was trying to get a good bite of  it i like it with my teeth with your pistachios that's good i think this is  a nice cake what about you   yeah that's good great score uh i already  scored oh you did yeah what did you say   you said eight all right good because i didn't  like the gummies ah but without that though   nice moist delicious cake so next up is from  deep we did try some stuff from them last time   although i've learned from some of the comments  that they might be a more american indian brand   than an indian indian brand um at least that's  what a couple comments are said i don't want to   speak for everybody there i don't know obviously  but this is peanut chicken i hope i'm saying that   right chicken chicken yeah we call chick-fil-a  we call chick-fil-a chicken that's right um it's   peanut sesame garo or is that just a different  kind um deep chicken is an old-fashioned brittle   reminiscent of your childhood years sweet but not  sticky a good crunch without the toughness cool   all right let's give it a shot so interestingly  enough they come in these little very cute cute   little wrappers so we'll try to open these up  here individually wrapped struggling you need help no all right you got it  there you go okay looks good   looks like a nice brittle all right here we go yeah does it taste like our version  of peanut butter that i'm thinking of yes but not as sweet which makes me  like this more right that's really good is that going in your lunch box  tomorrow brooke peanut chicken   that can't be how they say it chicky  chicky whatever it is it's delicious i don't want to assume anything okay fair  um wow that's really good okay score it   nine i'm gonna say this might be my favorite  one yet 9.8 wow yeah this is delicious if this   is going to stay in our house it won't last  two days oh she's gonna go this is so good all right last but not least i know this is not as  sweet but we liked the green curry last time and   we saw this at the store and i was so curious i  had to try it masala munch kerkere all right let's   go so these again they reminded me of like cheetos  right but the the green ones were a little spicy   for you the last time i forgot about them but i  love them smells good all right here we go cheers that is so good these are so good are they better than the other  ones yeah i like these better than the green ones   are these popular in india what's the most popular   i don't know if you get two gigs of free data i  saw that no it's on the front too no that's right   you get two gigs of free data from eating  these i already feel like i have more data   after taking a bite do you feel like you have  more data these are fantastic oh you could tell   i can't stop eating them okay so let me say  this i know this isn't a sweet and i'm going   to put this aside but just to say for me 10 out  of 10. me too okay really now let's wrap this up the sweets overall i think they were really good  yeah there was a few in there like the mango bar   and um the the badoo or bot yeah badam i didn't  really like um but overall pretty good pretty good   i've always liked you know um you know everything  we've eaten so far i'd say probably from india   where it looked like eighty-five percent we've  liked as she continues to see the concur right   eighty-five percent we like  maybe fifteen percent we we   didn't it's not like we didn't like it  yet fifty percent we just didn't love it   but overall this is great keep sending the  suggestions we are going to do more indian stuff i   know you want us to we will
