AMERICAN DREAM EDITION 1986 Honda XL600R

[Music] thank you [Music] brand new with 3 000 miles barely broken in [Music] what's happening fellas here's a bike that i've lost it after for decades for obvious reasons look at this thing red white and blue with gold rims with a fire engine red motor it doesn't get any better than this this is from the justin smith collection if you saw the videos when we picked it up it looked pretty much like it does now except for he gave us in the box in addition to the original tank which is in good condition he gave us an nos brand new gas tank that's what's mounted on the tank now that that the the value of that tank is basically priceless they haven't made these tanks in 40 years and uh well 35 anyways this is an 86 so 35 plus years since they've produced that tank there are none left in distribution with honda or in the dealership so this may be the last nos new tank along with the last nos brand new front fender he entered us in the box justin was a real stickler for a few things one all the bikes in his collection had to be original all of them were low miles all of them were mint this one is no exception showing three 105 miles on the factory fresh original odometer it's an absolute stunning beauty honda really hit it out of the park it really it could could could go nowhere but down from here this is the high water mark for fit and finish and uh stunning curb appeal the gold swing arm the gold rims the red motor the white bodywork the red white and blue livery just it's just stunning everything works like you'd expect it to on a mint honda headlight turn signals brake lights everything's beautiful um just been serviced by the staff here at during the motorcycle museum jeff casteen the manic mechanic himself rebuilt the car original carburetors and the petcock which is the original petcock was rebuilt with a new oem honda rebuild kit on the petcocks of the gas tank the petcock and the carburetors are all essentially as good as new the tank is new has a new air filter the cam chain the valves were adjusted fresh oil in the motor just a beautiful piece of tires i have ninety percent tread uh the original handler bars original mirrors original gas cap original rear fender everything is intact and in excellent shape went to the detail shop where ronald brooks spent the better part of a day and a half sanding down and painting repainting the engine and touching up the frame it was steam cleaned hand washed polished a coat of carnauba wax laid on the fresh paint job on the nos original tank just an absolute stunning beauty original side panels original exhaust and i've got a full complement of literature and provenance on this bike here starting with the original 1986 owner's manual the original 1986 factory brochure which has all the specifications and pictures and photos and everything else showing that this bike is 100 original this is the definition of a time capsule right around the world or around the block this shows two up riding the 600's got plenty of power for two-up riding you'll take it down the baja 1000 or take it cross-country it's got what you need 83 to 86 was essentially the same this is a honda service manual um clean title in hand in justin's name and uh a work order from us showing all the work that was done to uh recommission the motorcycle this is not restored it's just recommissioned didn't need restoration because it's got no miles on it um just a beautiful piece tons of power effortless power highway speeds you can gear this thing to do 80 85 all day long right now it's geared cruises comfortably 65 to 75 miles an hour unlike a 250 which runs out of steam the 600 was pull and pull and pull and it's an absolute wheelie monster the single wheelie second third fourth gear so if you've lusted after one of these as pretty much everybody who's ever fell in love with the vintage honda this is right at the podium of desirable classic hondas all around all-purpose you write it to the coffee shop like justin did that's all he used it for or take it cross-country on the pan america off-road trail this will do it all and do it in style pretty much effortlessly all-day comfort with a nice big comfy seat if you have any questions about this world-class classic give us a call 860-454-7024 once it's gone she's gone forever and good luck finding a nicer one thanks for watching and god bless america
