Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
It's a 7800 XT and shouldn't have been $900, pretty obvious.
So is the 7900 xt going to get unlaunched and relaunched as the 7800 xtx?
This is such a stupid card, just call it the 7800 XT ffs.
How no one call them for price fixing after this shit show? Both do same shit, both dont even trying competing. Like really? Its so obvious.
I am so furious with AMDs launch of these cards. Their benchmarks were grossly exaggerated, the 8K bullshit, and them following NVidia pricing like lapdogs. It was a great moment to make a dent in the complete dominance of NVidia greed.
Was this the reason Robert Hallock conveniently just left the company? He couldn't stomach the narrative of this launch.
My only thought is that the R&D cost of the chiplet technology was so high that they are trying to recoup via higher margins. They suspect they can't get a sizable amount of market share from Nvidia with this product so they gave up and went this route.
It's a bit pessimistic and maybe they have a longer term plan to go with NV with the price increases and when they have their Zen2/Zen3 moment that can't truly change the narrative of Radeon that they cash in.
It's just frustrating because we are the victims and the deception is bullshit.
God I absolutely hate what the GPU market has become. π‘
Oh nice the RX 7800 (NON XT) dropped.
This cards is at best worth $700. The lack of new software features at launch is obvious. AMD is playing follow the leader so it's no wonder it's software stack is behind as usual.
What I got from this is that I'm better off getting a used 3090 ti from eBay for around the same raster performance and much better ray tracing and feature set
Doesnβt this mean the 7900 XT would be in direct competition with Nvidias 4070 Ti?
AMDβs 900 series to Nvidias 70? Tragic.
