hello everyone I wanted to make a short video about uh limiting the the power usage by uh moving the power limit slider to to the minimum or minus term ten percent and uh to compare it with the previous results so again all you need to do for this is open the adrenaline software go to manual tuning custom uh now you can only reduce the the power limit but you can also reduce the the voltage so you can under volt a bit and uh modify the the fan curved by clicking enabled uh yeah I want Max Speed 100 because I want the lowest temperature possible if something happens so uh default score in farmark with 1440p preset I I remember I got not only did I remember but I have the the screenshots uh we had the 12.8 K average of 213 FPS and uh the power draw was uh around 310 Watts this one was taken while the benchmark was uh was running so 310 Watts I think AMD rated the 7900 XT at 315 Watts so it might pull 315 I did not see it it although I did not [Music] um Benchmark for for too long so it could pull 315 on default settings now the the OC score you know power limit to also hit apply changes after every change OC score is with power limit at 15 percent uh same same other settings you hit apply changes then you go benchmark I got 15.7 uh 15.7 k and the board maximum board power it was pretty constant at 254 Watts now I I did try with minus 10 power limit and obviously we have a lower performance because we are limiting the the power of the board and yeah we we got around 11k so a quick let's see how how much performance did we lose so 11k divided by the initial 12.8 on default so we had the 14 we reduced the power limit with 10 percent but we have 14 percent uh less performance so if you have like a lower wattage power supply as I mentioned in the in the comment in the previous video I have a 750 watt and I think it's not enough because I was playing The Witcher 3 and I think the the power supply tripped so I I have one uh another power supply on order uh but it's gonna arrive in January 10th something like that so it's gonna take a while it's understandable people are going in vacations yeah so what I might do is actually play with the with a power limit down and see if I'm I'm getting any other power supply trips so um yeah for the the one guy that that cares about this oh I forgot to show you the wattage the wattage is I think this one yeah this was the maximum uh that I saw during the the short test that I did 286 Watts um it mostly hovered at 278 but this was the maximum and I I was able to take a quick uh snip of of the board power yeah 286 Watts from default which is 310 how much reduction is that in real world because this is 10 but should be close to 10 right yeah 286 divided by 310 it's eight percent so there you have it uh 14 less performance for eight percent [Music] reduction in total board power usage if you believe this this helps you yeah I hope it does if you have like a lower power supply unit until you get a better one like I do not recommend you you sit on a 600 watt or 650 watt or something like that the minimum recommendation from AMD is 750 and I actually believe that's not enough because uh gamer Nexus uh did some testing and they have some uh pretty pretty high power spikes and they might exceed uh they might exceed the even 750 watts now uh what I want to show you and I'll put this link into the description is how to to find uh a power supply a good power supply uh I'm gonna hover this here go to this link I'll put this in the description and just basically they have a tier list this guy is probably tested actually these are tested for sure or or all the the power supplies in the eight year list low priority units and speculative positions are not fully tested but based on the information they believe they are good now I ignored this they also have lower tiers bit here like my current power supply is a Corsair CX 750. so it's probably a bit here if I'm reading this correctly uh yeah and I checked every single not every single power supply here but I went to to my local [Music] Electronics vendors and uh I selected I filtered with after this manufacturers and I picked the the cheapest one because yeah they are all eight year I think go by by the cheapest one so I did pick an fsp Hydro G Pro 1000 Watts power supply and it's 80 plus gold although a80 plus gold does not mean it's uh it's a quality power supply 80 plus gold this is just the efficiency how much uh power does the power supply draw from the wall in order in order to deliver you x amount of wattage so you you will always get the amount of wattage that is advertised but depending on the 80 plus rating it's gonna draw more or uh less I mean it's gonna draw even a platinum is going to draw more than 750 watts let's say with 95 efficiency is going to draw something like uh 775 Watts from the wall whilst on 80 plus wild might draw 850 let's say or even more 900. so 80 plus rating does not mean the power supply is a quality one it just shows you how much AC input it's drawing from the wall in order to give you the 850 watt DC output so this is what I got because this was 26 percent cheaper than the competition so it was really easy for me so I'll put this in the description get a good power supply if you have this these newer boards um and also maybe use use PC part picker this is my build so usually how you get the power supply because you get the estimated wattage you multiply by 50 so times 1.5 800 and because this uh there's a new gpus from AMD have really high spikes from what I know the Nvidia ones do not you also add the AMD or Nvidia attacks of 100 Watts so for me 900 watts minimum I'm just gonna get 1000 Watts it's it's safer and it gives the it gives me room for future upgrades so uh thanks for watching I hope this video really helped you and I will see you in the next one bye bye
