Ambrosia Silver Maple Burl Bowl with Total Boat Resin

ranger inks uh botanical black diamond jungle green black diamond emerald green and black diamond silver pearl these colors here are all in a total boat what about what actually sells those so uh total boat link is in the in the description and below if you want some of those you got lots of colors well that's green i'm not sure what that's gonna be so i think i'm gonna feed it some resin mix up a little bit dump it down that hole leave it alone before i uh ah we'll open it gotta love that mold release huh look at that almost what i wanted uh so that is a big hole in theirs what i'm gonna do is i think this one that's funny and i believe that's how we get the air down in there like that you can press it and then as a as it cools off it lets it out you heard that right yes okay well here's what it is so i think i'm going to didn't even hit nothing but right there all right before we get going too far that's a silver maple with a little beast little piece of burl in it i didn't know it was there until i pulled the bark off i'm going to try to go backwards with this so i have resin big resin whole ish looking thing in a wood rim instead of a resin rim but we'll see how that goes here but that was the the plan for doing it the way i did it i just mixed some to pour it on the top and then i leveled it off uh off camera because it's just uh i'm gonna turn it away anyway so uh right right currently right here i'm just gonna try to establish where we're going try to get this balanced a little bit better which i doubt i'm going to be able to do it a big wad of resin on this side [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] um now it's not too bad it's not really what i want there's a hole right there let's fix that uh i didn't really want this hard line i was hoping that i'd get rid of it and i could probably turn it away but i think i'm gonna leave it okay so uh we're gonna sand 80 to uh 800 probably get into the abrasive pace and i'm not sure how to finish it probably would just wax let's get that fixed right there [Music] [Music] so [Music] um all right there you go all right so i'm going to uh get this flipped over we'll start on the other side all right well at least that stayed together i knew it would because we were into the end of the wood down there so that fill was only to level this out because it was all kinds of wonky so we're gonna drill a hole in that that way i don't throw it across the shop like it did last week's project so let's scuff that up next time instead of doing it with mold release on it what was that dummy thinking poor resin on top of mold relief and expect it to stay there pops right off just like that all right i think i'm done with the shrapnel coming at me so let me sharpen that and we'll get back to this uh i don't like what i feel out here not sure how to go about fixing that it feels like it just separated all the way around i just i i don't i don't know so [Music] okay so i keep hearing this thing crack now you can see the dust right here so it's cracked all the way around and all the way up to right about here so i'm gonna try to put some thin ca glue in it before i turn too much more on the inside i'm gonna have to refinish the outside but hopefully what i'll do is i'll uh i'll back off the tension and and chuck after i get some glue down in it and hopefully i don't have a whole lot of this left but hopefully that uh so start buying [Music] super thin hopefully it'll go down in here and do what i need it to do and then uh let me just say back the tension off huh sounded like it went back where it needed to be hope so anyways [Music] [Music] so so okie dokie i have to flip this around huh what's that all right get that out of there all right let's try that again i need to flip this around because apparently i put too much force on the jaws and i cracked this apart so i filled it with ca glue off camera maybe i don't remember what i did so i filled it with ca glue and i have to now clean the bottom so let's put the cole jaws on and i record that maybe i don't know so anyways let me get this off of here okay so the ca glue it's stuck so you see what i gotta clean up and finish here let me get this turn around so yeah see i gotta get all this cleaned back up again and then clean this up but ain't one thing it's something else side looks good [Music] it's been a minute since i've done this i remember how to do it i'd put the date in but this is an awful year i ain't doing it all right let's get over to sticker board no stickers this week so i think we're going to go and show him some love and yeah let's let's talk about this thing this thing all right so i'm not i'm not aesthetically happy about it it is pretty but i'm like i had issues you know like we do all the time then i know i quit beating myself up but you know nothing ever goes right so i'm going to assume that i you know to keep it from coming out of the chuck like the other one did i over tightened it and expanded it apart now i think that also comes or contributed to it was that i didn't get all of the bark off there was like layers of it this silver maple and i i didn't get it i didn't get it all off and i think it just didn't stick to it or it peeled that off but it i i tried to fix it so it's a silver ambrosia maple it's given to me by a friend of mine um i keep telling them hey find me these big wart looking things and you know inadvertently he gave me a a little one on here not like i said i couldn't see it till i pulled the bark off but this is ambrosia maple here ambrosian in it now i fixed this hole and because i had to clean it up again i didn't notice that there it is again see see what i'm saying and then and and the green and like i didn't care for this hard line like right there and i didn't intend to leave it yeah but i left it anyway yeah this is what it is right i don't even know i i don't even know so i'll put some pictures up at the end that
