kingdom from india and from brazil [Music] these were mainly gear gazera with some indu brazil krishna valley and angle [Music] the brahman has a high tolerance of heat sunlight and humidity and good resistance to parasites [Music] it has been exported to many countries particularly in the tropics in australia it is the most numerous breed of cattle it has been used in the creation of numerous taurine indicine hybrids some of which such as the brangus and brahmazan are established as separate breeds my [Music] the brahman is one of the most popular breeds of cattle intended for meat processing and is widely used in argentina brazil paraguay united states colombia and australia among many other places [Music] the brahman is reared for the meat industry particularly in areas where good resistance to hot or tropical conditions is needed [Music] as with other zebuin cattle the meat is of lower quality than that of specialized european beef cattle breeds [Music] for this reason it is commonly cross-bred with cattle of those breeds either by raising hybrid calves born to purebred parents or by creating a composite or hybrid breed of which there are many [Music] brahmin are characterized by a large hump over the top of the shoulder and neck [Music] brahmans vary in color from very light grey or red to almost black a majority of the breed are light to medium grey [Music] mature balls are normally darker than cows and usually have dark areas on the neck shoulders and lower thighs [Music] they have short thick glossy hair which reflects much of the sun's rays and black pigmented skin making it able to graze in the midday sun without suffering their horns curve upwards and sometimes tilt to the rear plus they have pendulous ears brahman have an abundance of loose gestation length of 282 days brahman brahman base and other boss indicus breeds have longer gestation lengths 292.8 days the small african zebu is the only boss indicus breed with gestation lengths similar to european breeds brahman based breeds are intermediate in gestation lengths bulls will generally weigh from sixteen hundred to two thousand two hundred pounds and cows from one thousand to one thousand four hundred pounds in average condition the calves are small at birth weighing 60 to 65 pounds but grow very rapidly and wean at weights comparable to other breeds [Music] brahmans are [Music] brahmans like affection and can become very docile they quickly respond to handling they receive good or bad [Music] well-bred wisely selected and properly treated brahmans are as easily handled as other breeds they are also good mothers and produce a very satisfactory milk flow under conditions that are adverse for best performance of the european breeds [Music] cancer eye is almost
