Assalamu Alaikum, welcome to GFXMentor, I'm your teacher Imran. I've been posting stories on my setup since, been busy a lot so couldn't create my classes. Lots of classes got ignored, so sorry! (🥺) Setup may not be much important for you, but it was to me. Brought out some times for myself. What's much important to you is classes, so yes, I'm back with it. Setup is enough build up to record those. I believe you'll... love it when I show, but not now! Few things still left. I'll conduct a whole setup tour. And thanks a lot, thanks a lot, 3000 subscribers, I love you all! (🥰) Lots of supports I've received. Back to class! In today's class we shall see track matte, and it has two types of mattes, one's Alpha and other's Luma. Today we shall see Alpha Matte and what can we do with it. C'mon let's start! (😃) Alright welcome back, so first of all here I've typed a simple text, you recognize the name well- GFXMentor. Yes that's me dude! So here we shall do mask. You've seen masking already, we can apply it on anything. Logo, images, anything. After masking, one thing we can do is, if go to Transform and change the position our mask will go together. Now, my plan is to keep the mask on its place, while the text goes up and down. Text only, and it's possible. Simply go to Animate from here and animate the position. Upwards or downwards. So this can be done. But what if we don't have text, but images? So let's say my logo... I think I kept it here... So uh, let's suppose this text we can animate through this, what if I don't want this on text, rather; it's an Ai file, and I wanna mask it in the same way. I'm making it bigger, and yes of course, as it's vector so need to turn this on. Okay? Now I want to mask it, and reveal itself from downwards. Now problem is, the Animate feature that appeared before, it doesn't appear on the 2nd file dude! Ahh... It was possible on text, but now it's image. Or vector file, right? It can be anything. I wanna keep the mask at its place, logo come from below. Right? Now how's it possible? Very simple task, firstly I'm deleting the mask here, and exactly for this we'll use Alpha Matte. Now Alpha Matte has many applications, but here let me tell you, you can make any shapes. Simply I select this one. Beware not to keep the layer selected, otherwise it'll make a mask on it. We mustn't keep it selected, need a shape layer individually. Firstly, click anywhere outside to deselect. And then create your shape. Doesn't matter, any colours will do. Now, what'll you do is to click this "Switches/Transfer Controls Menu" option, then at the front of "gfxm", the Ai file you can see... one is "Modes", which we don't need now, beside here's the Alpha Matte given, or Track Matte, notice at the above it's written "TrkMat" and hovering on it via mouse, it'll show "Track Matte". And if you click the dropdown menu below, here you can see "Alpha Matte 'Shape Layer 1' ", this automatically detects the Shape Layer 1 here. Remember, the shape you keep above, and the element you wanna show their difference is important. Keep the shape above, and the element you wanna show below. It's akin to Clipping Mask in Photoshop, but that's opposite, what we wanna show is kept above, while the shape is below. So it's inverted. Right? Anyways, shape ahh... Doing Alpha Matte on the shape. See now it's revealed. Now notice, from here the Track Matte got hidden although you can turn on, why though? I dunno. Anyways, don't turn it on, and let's see what happens upon changing the position. Now it's popping out inside from a hidden area, it's so amazing! Quite useful it is. Another wonderful example I'll show- I'm removing the Track Matte by "No Track Matte" option, shape layer removing; after erasing everything what I do is... I take any solid background colour, hurriedly hurriedly hurriedly... let's take this grey. Aaand... I think this grey is enough... And put it below, right? I... take a video and keep it here. It's simple, just... a starry footage. Downloaded it from Pexels, you can download free videos from anywhere you like. Now, I drag and keep it below too. GFXM is above now. I rescale it a bit bigger so that... it looks good dude! Alright! Now I want GFXM's shape to be intact and the video to be seen from inside. Very simple task. That is... Video is kept below, our shape is above; go to Track Matte at the front of the video, and from here choose Alpha Matte. That's it! So now the video will be played from inside this text. I believe you've enjoyed it. Loved it too. Keep in mind, it's part 1- this was Alpha Matte, next will come on Luma Matte, that'll be more interesting. I believe you've loved this class. If yes, please give it a Like, and please subscribe if you haven't yet. Thank you! (😊)
