[Music] so [Music] so [Music] good morning allen tipple baptist church friends and family i greet you this saturday morning praying that you all are safe that you are well we are so excited that you are joining us today we're going to take a few moments and ask you to share this broadcast start a watch party text someone call someone let them know we are gathering to do what to pray we are living in a time where we really really need to intercede and to seek god's face and guidance we're at the beginning of a new year and it's so very important um that we not think that we have everything together that we think just because we make plans and make resolutions that that is what god would have us to do but we have been called we are called as followers of jesus christ to lend ourselves to the spiritual discipline of prayer not just individually but even as a corporate body so welcome welcome welcome once again thank you so very much for joining us again again let someone know we're on facebook we're on youtube on our social media platforms we are so grateful for the leaders of the allen temple baptist church clergy and lay leaders who have consented to serve as intercessors on our behalf we're going to be praying over a number of topics a number of areas i'm going to invite you that if you have prayer needs yourself won't you put those in the chat and as they come up before our time ends today we will make sure that we are praying for your needs as well because the song said we used to hear it growing up it's not my mother it's not my father it's me oh lord that is standing in the need of prayer and sometimes if we're honest about it we don't know what to pray we need someone who can stand and intercede on our behalf so i welcome you once again i thank god for all of the prayer leaders that are going to be joining us today and so let us prepare our hearts and our minds for prayer we hear a scripture that comes from second chronicles all the time and that's second chronicles 7 14. what we rarely do is set the context and the context for the scripture was solomon had completed building the temple and the people were all excited and they were in the process of dedicating the temple but god reappeared to solomon and said something very specific it said when pestilence and destruction comes upon the land amongst my people that was the context for the scripture if my people were all by my names would humble themselves and pray turn from their wicked way seek my face then i would hear from heaven forgive their sins and heal their land and so that is what we are endeavoring to do today we need healing in the land healing in the body and we want to make sure we start out on the firm foundation we've been called to renew repair rebuild restore but before we build anything we have to have a firm foundation and prayer is the foundation upon which we endeavor to do anything for god so we're going to prepare our hearts and minds we're grateful for minister derek hall who is going to come and lead us in a brief period of prayer and worship please feel free sing along with them while we're singing uh make sure again you share and when we come back we will come back with our opening prayer from our very own reverend lana rice good morning welcome to our all church prayer it's so wonderful to know that we serve a god who answers our prayer are always much greater than we could ever imagine even in failed attempts you blow us away with your faithfulness to provide and we need that our prayer today is that you your will be done through this all church prayer take what we have prepared and multiply our efforts as only you can steer our intentions to align with your righteousness remind us of your faithful provisions when our efforts fail and fall short you're always there to catch us may all the glory go to you blanket us with your peace today lord keep us physically safe and guard our hearts and mind from pride and selfishness and reverend brenda lewis is going to be praying for us we are so very grateful repair the things that are broken there are broken things that we are dealing with and she is going to be leading us in that prayer we pray with them as they pray for us lord jesus we pray this morning a prayer for renewal you said in your word that if anyone would be in christ jesus they would become a new creation and that the old things about us would pass away and that all things now would become new so father we look to you this morning the author and the finisher of our faith yes the perfecter of our faith please create on us a fresh anointing lord help us to seek you first and all that we do seek first the kingdom of god and your righteousness and we know that all things shall be added on to us open up this new year of 2021 with new possibilities with new opportunities and an uncompromising hope help us now lord to not to conform with the ways of the world but lord please help us to be transformed now by the renewing of our minds we want to be transformed daily by your spirit help us always strive towards the goal of proving to you what is that good and that perfect will of god now lord please help us to not let anything let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in the lowliness yes with that humility of our minds let each of us commit to esteem others our beloved brothers and our beloved sisters better than ourselves lord help us not to look out for our own interests exclusive interests but also for the interests of others oh lord let this mind be in us that was also in christ jesus this year lord let no corrupt word proceed out of our mouths but only those things that would be considered to be good and edifying and encouraging oh lord let our speech always be seasoned with salt so that we we would know how we are to address one another lord help us to grow and to remain committed to the teachings and the attributes of the fruit of the spirit which begins with love which is also joy and peace and long-suffering which is patience goodness faithfulness gentleness and most importantly oh lord help us with our self-control now lord as i conclude this prayer we thank you for doing things doing a new thing in our lives and in our church help us to see the new things in our lives that are springing forth thank you for orchestrating for rearranging the circumstances and the situations in our lives and for making a way in the wilderness and creating rivers in the desert it is in the matchless name yes the name that is above every name that we ask with our broken hearts with our broken relationships because loved ones have gone on too soon broken the loss of jobs and homes broken god god because our world system is upside down our world system is broken oh my my how babylon has fallen but oh god you are still god you still are on the throne you still rule you still reign you are the potter we are the clay you told jeremiah to go down to the potter's house and when jeremiah got to the potter's house he saw the clay in the hands of the potter and he said that the clay was marred but when the potter reshaped the clay he shaped it to his liking he shaped it to his purpose he shaped it so that it would be good he shaped it so they could be reused he repaired the cracks in the clay he repaired the broken places he took away that which was not good and he replaced it with his goodness oh god you are the potter we are the clay we are not humpty dumpty who sat on the wall and had a great fall and all the king's horses and all the king's men could not put humpty dumpty back together again we have come before god who is our creator the one who sees us in the deep dark places the one who knows what goes on in our minds and our thoughts because you said you know our thoughts are far off help us on god with mental illness lord god help us with depression lord god help us with loneliness lord god help us o god because of all that's been going on father god we are still your children and we still come saying abba father daddy god we reach our hands up to you oh god just like little children do with their parents and we expect lord god to be able to touch you because you will touch us we expect it lord god we don't come not expecting we come expecting because you have given us promises lord god in your word that you would sustain us that you would keep us that you would never leave us so we come expecting great things from our god we love you oh god and we know that we are good in your hands we know that we are repaired people in your hands we know that you are building us up every day because we come before your presence because we stay in your word lord god help us oh god individually help us oh god clay oh god we thank you for the opportunity to come boldly before the throne of grace this morning we thank you o god that we could bring our little pieces lord god that looked like nothing to us but we could comment in god you can do great things because little becomes much when you put it in the master's hand oh what a great god we serve and we thank you lord god because we have confidence in you we thank you for the holy spirit that dwells within us that keep us that keeps us and guides us and gives us direction oh what almighty god we serve and it is in jesus name that we humbly pray and say thank you lord thank you lord in jesus name amen hallelujah amen thank you so much reverend brenda lewis deacon pavilion for praying for us for renewal praying that broken places are restored again we see all of your comments prayers for healing prayers for salvation prayers for protection prayers for deliverance we want you to be praying along with us as well prayer for the nation prayer have nothing to fear we are calling your name we are praying for you we're praying for deacon bill cohen praying for children who are in school struggling so please keep your comments coming we are so very so very very grateful for your engagement and if you know anybody who stands in the need of prayer tell them alan temple is praying because we know that god hears and answers prayer we are so very very blessed to have one uh who has been so faithful in ministry you have not seen him a lot because he's been ministering to his wife and which is what he should be doing at this time but god knows that reverend oluberiola is one of our wonderful ministers at allen temple baptist church a stalwart been there for years comforts bereaved family has led has taught he is with us today he is with us today and we are so very happy that he is with us he is going to pray for us in the area of divine guidance we need the lord to lead and guide us in these treacherous times thank you so very much reverend burial let us pray guide us who thou great jehovah pilgrims through this barren land we are weak but thou almighty hold us with our powerful hand bread of heaven bread of heaven feed us till we want no more guide also gentle savior our humble cry while all others our calling do not pass us by savior savior savior here our humble cry lord we come right now to seek sweet relief because you said in your word we should cast all our chaos upon you because you care for us you have been god of our weary years you have been god of our silent tears it is your lord who has brought us those far along the way we look to thee for divine wisdom for guidance and direction in all our undertakings on this new year 2021 we ask that you order our steps that we have a closer work with thee we seek and pray for your divine guidance for wisdom and direction help us lord to always seek your face in all that we do give us the mind of christ who continually and continuously seek your face give us that divine guidance to know when to speak i want to keep silent when to walk i want to be still when to look i want to refrain from looking help us to follow the leading of your holy spirit and not go ahead of your holy spirit as the tongue has the power of life and death let us be cognizant of our speech that our tongues come forth with the word of life word of hope word of love and encouragement let our speech be seasoned with sword that it may be edifying and encouraging and pleasing in your sight finally my brothers and siste sisters as apostle paul admonishes in philippians chapter four say finally my brothers help us lord to think good thoughts things that are true things that are noble things that are of good report lord give us that mind of christ lord that we will follow thee lord that we will depend on thee and not depend upon limited understanding lord lord he said in your word that the the fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom help us to have that reverence for you lord be the head of our lives lord lead us guide us lord to be that we we are not only your children that we are your friend because you said in your words that your friends that you used to call us uh servants but we are no longer servants because we are your friends now because your friends are those who not only hear your word but do them help us to be obedient and to do your word and leave your word and be your word lord lord we thank you we thank you we praise you we magnify you we adore you we give you all the glory all the praise in jesus name we pray amen and thank god amen and thank god thank you reverend variola again i see all of your comments that are coming in we are going to be interceding for you and making sure that we cover all of your prayer needs as well we are so very grateful we would not start this year without hearing from the ones whose shoulder that we stand on and god knows we are so very grateful for our pastor of mereness and we are also grateful for his partner in life and love and ministry none other uh than pastor bernie which is what i affectionately call her reverend bernestein smith if you know her you know that she is a prayer warrior and i'm so very grateful that she has consented to pray for us this morning we see you sister stewart praying for healing for your son and grandson we saw you sister kathleen praying for those affected by coved and this rampant racism but right now we are going to pray for restoration pastor bernie is going to lead us in a prayer of restoration asking god to restore unto us however the spirit has leading her to pray so good morning pastor bernie thank you so much for being with us we are praying with you as you pray for us good morning as we pray a prayer of restoration the word of god in 1st peter chapter 5 verses 10 says and the god of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in christ after you have suffered a little while a little while will himself restore you and make you strong firm and steadfast to him be the power forever and ever amen let us pray god of love god of peace god of grace god of mercy god of restoration we come to you this morning to give you honor and praise and glory oh god during these turbulent times we especially thank you for another day that wasn't promised we thank you for allowing us to see another new year 2021 oh god we come before you as humble as we know how asking that you forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness all knowing god you already know that the world in which we live in is broken and plagued with sin with hatred with evil with confusion and is in utter chaos oh god the world is literally sick with a vicious cruel virus we can't see it we can't hear it we can't smell it we don't know where it's coming from we don't know where it's going and it's killing people every few seconds oh god churches are closed and businesses are closed churches are closed schools are closed some have lost love ones and some have even lost their homes and we're all sheltered in our individual homes for fear of spreading or contracting this evil virus some are living with fear with anxiety with depression and unable to sleep at night and oh god on top of all of that our government is out of control systems of injustice continue to spread through the very fiber of our country and we have been overwhelmed with scenes of on our television screens of domestic terrorism at our capitol in washington dc but god even in the midst of all of this trouble even in the midst of all of this trouble we thank you for being in the midst of it with us we thank you o god for promising never to leave us and never to forsake us we may not understand what's going on but god we look to you for wisdom and for guidance oh god you said in your word that after we have suffered a little while that you yourself would restore us and make us strong make us firm and make us steadfast you said that though we walk in the midst of trouble you will revive us and that you will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of the enemy and save us so god we're calling on you god this morning we're calling on you right now and ask that you will restore and heal our land oh god we asked that you would restore our health care system restore our health care workers restore schools for our children restore jobs for the unemployed restore businesses that are closed restore and heal sick bodies o god we ask that you will restore peace to our spirits and restore our house of worship oh god unify where there is division among us because a nation divided its against itself cannot stand and so god we ask that you would remind us o god that we cannot restore anything or any relationship without you so god please draw your people closer to you let them know without you they can do nothing let them know that the emptiness they are seeking to fill is you you will not be replaced by anyone or anything and so god now we ask that you would revive our hope in you and we ask so god that you will encourage that you would comfort and that you would restore all that has been lost and broken and oh god sometimes we wonder if you are there people are saying where is god but god let them know that you're right here with us you're putting food on our table you're putting a roof over our head you've given us a reasonable portion of strength oh god to see another day and so god we thank you for your new mercies every morning let us look for those things that we take for granted because god without you we would have none of them so god we thank you and we asked it all in the powerful name of your son jesus the christ amen oh hallelujah thank you god thank you lord god hallelujah thank you lord god thank you lord god thank you lord hallelujah hallelujah who we bless your name god we are grateful for the power of prayer and for those that are leading us in prayer today and we recognize even at this hour there is a need for healing we see your confidence i'm i'm monitoring everything i see we see that there's a need for unity we are living in a time of great division and we are so very grateful for reverend cheryl ward who knows a little something about healing he was going to pray for us at this time for unity in the body hallelujah and for healing so we pray for her as she prays for us let us bow our heads eternal god great god we praise you and we thank you for how good you are to us god we thank you if it had not do for you on our side we don't know where we would be and so father now in the name of jesus father mother god in the name of jesus we thank you for unity we thank you god umoja father as you bring us back together as one you prayed even that they might be one and so we're calling upon you now father saying please help us lord to be one we realize that so many negative things have come out of a pandemic and sheltering place and and so many negative things have come out of even death has come out of this virus but lord thank you that the one positive that we can say is that there's a coming together all hallelujah of families and and long-lost friends and and and parents and children and and siblings father we thank you for it we thank you for bringing us back together in unity now lord i thank you in the name of jesus that you're a healer you are a deliver deliverer you are a savior and so father so many have asked for healing today so many have put up a request for healing and and god we thank you that you're the great healer jehovah wrote for glory to god we thank you healer god healer healer lord i thank you for that you're a healer and all those who have put up requests for loved ones who are in the hospital and and and loved ones who are stick at home and loved ones who are far away sick father in the name of jesus we know god that before they even posted their name god oh we thank you that you knew who they were you know the circumstance you knew the situation you knew the diagnosis father in the name of jesus god in my own body god i thank you that you brought me through dangerous scene and unseen god i thank you that in my own body you brought me from a long way and even there are things going on god we're in your hands father in the name of jesus also father we lift up those who whose names we don't know to call and those who are at home and feeling alone and those who are homesick and those who are in the hospitals in the name of jesus god we lift up those who are in the hospitals and can't have any visitors father in the name of jesus i thank you god that you are a healer oh god in the name of jesus god we thank you for doing a mighty work we thank you for how good you are to us we thank you for this time of prayer in the name of jesus you are the author and finisher of our faith we pray amen amen amen hallelujah thank you so much for having cheryl we know that we need healing but i just want to testify and i know i'm not alone that there are those of you who are in the chat those of you who are in this line or stream yard with me we know god to be a healer not only can god heal our bodies of physical ailments god can heal our relationships god can heal our minds god can heal our emotions god can heal our spirits i don't need everybody i just need a few folk that can type in the chat and testify that i know god to be a healer and so we are trusting and believing that god will do the work that we can't do that when doctors and when our medical professionals reach their education's end that there is another doctor oh my god who is able to heal us and sometimes healing does not look like what we expect healing to look like we pray for cures but there is a difference between a cure and a healing and i suggest to you today that even in the midst of all of this there is a healing work that is going on right now and so we thank you reverend sheryl we pray for you as you have prayed for us and we transition at this time because in the same way we need god to be healer for us we also know that god is a god of justice and part of what we need god to heal is the division that exists in our land today we all saw the news and i'm tempted lord knows i'm struggling right this very instant because i do not want to address it i don't want to address it i don't want to deal with it but to be prophetic and to be called of god is to deal with the issues of the day and so we know that there is a need for justice there is a need for prayer for activists and justice workers we are a church for whom social justice is in our dna but there is something known as activism fatigue you get tired you get tired of seeing how the national guard was on the steps lining the capitol when peaceful black lives matter protesters came but when it is another culture they are allowed to actually run ransack you get tired and you begin to wonder is the god we serve just but we serve a just god and we serve a god who desires justice we serve a god who came to make wrong things right in this world and so we pray for the strength that we are going to need to continue this fight the strength that we are going to need to continue to speak to a generation so they will not believe that the church is hypocritical where we support one thing and not support the other thing and i'm grateful for deacon reginald lyles whose passion is justice and who is going to pray and intercede for us at this time in the spirit of micah deacon lyles are you with us i want to make sure that you are on the line bam amen so we we yield we pray for you as you pray for us thank you thank you and hello allen temple family let us pray lord god almighty the one who is the creator of all the earth belongs to this god and all who dwell upon it the cosmos was created in every heavenly body formed within it unlimited vastness belongs to this god the one god who was before the beginning and has no end the one who sits high but looks low the one who is love who is justice who is righteousness the father of jesus of nazareth who became human on our behalf mary's baby to save humanity to this god i praise i will forever praise i say glory i say hallelujah i say hosanna and i say thank you teach us almighty god to be just to pray for justice to seek justice and to do justice teach us that we are worthy of justice teach us that we deserve justice teach us not to be afraid to demand justice teach us to inspect ourselves so that we are living justly lord allow no prayer or no ministry go forth without the acknowledgement of the need the worthiness and the demand for justice but are we just are we being treated justly lord teaches to lament because by lamentations we are inspecting ourselves and our circumstances when we are crying out about wrong wrong is being discovered like mordecai like amos like micah like martin luther king's junior like malcolm x like jay alfred cried out for the wrongness that's in our society from lamentations it teaches us to pray and to seek your faith as the deliverer of justice from prayer let us evolve into dreaming about how justice should be what it looks like what steps that are necessary to be taken to make it become reality in every circumstance talk to us lord in order to order our steps may we evolve from dreaming of justice to the doing of justice doing justice in social justice circumstances legal justice economic justice environmental justice educational justice medical justice research justice lord may we do demand and seek justice in our homes may we be just to ourselves to our spouses and significant others may we treat our children justly may we teach our children to teach to treat their siblings justly in our neighborhoods and in our world help us lord to decolonize our mind to know we can overcome injustice with the seeking and the doing of justice let us not be afraid o lord give us courage that we can be living sacrifices as written in romans 12 1 and 2. when we act as doers of justice great things can come about allow us to see your hand your mighty hand of justice move let us not call it something that it is not let it get let us give you the praise and honor you deserve so we thank you for moving your hand of righteousness for using stacey abrams a poor girl from gulf gulf port mississippi who was born to the right reverence robert abrams in the reverend carolyn abrams thank you for these incredible parents who raised four girls and two boys to come to become free and to believe that with god they can accomplish anything history will record that the racist oppressor snatched the georgia governorship from earth by unjustly suppressing the vote however through your grace and mercy she snatched back the united states presidency two georgian senators the senate and the united states thank you for reverend doctor acidity elect rafael gumiel warnock a poor boy from savannah georgia who you call to preach your word thank you for his parents who named him raphael which means healer of god in gamiel which means god's reward he is a healer of the breach and a rewarder for those who are oppressed thank you for john ourself a jewish boy whose mother was an australian immigrant john ossoff who has david's courage in solomon's wisdom thank you for their holy witness in spite of all that they do that is wrong in this world all of the oppressor strategies and i'm gonna call the republicans out of these strategies lord you have defeated them you have turned them back and we see your hand moving only in all wise and in control just god can do such so we thank you lord we thank you we praise your holy name thank you for those who lament who become dreamers who becomes doers of justice who know that what is good and to do justice and to love mercy and to walk umly before their god in the matchless name of jesus the christ my elder brother i pray amen we say amen and amen thank you deacon lyles thank you freaking loud for praying for us and in the spirit of justice and we're already seeing the hand of the lord moving because we recognize there are some things that only god can do and only god can turn the red state of georgia lord have mercy only the god i serve can do that but the god i serve who can do that can do anything and so we certainly did not want to have this time of prayer without hearing from our emeritus the one whose shoulders uh that we stand on whose work we are the beneficiaries from we are so grateful for our pastor emeritus who is going to pray a prayer of protection and going to close us out in this prayer time but before he does that it would be inappropriate for me as the senior pastor of this church tonight pray for the people because the reality is all of this happens through people and as people we get tired as people we get weary as people we have things that we struggle with it is so difficult sometimes to be engaged in the work of justice when you feel that you yourself are struggling with things on your own and so god we come in a ministry of intercession right now in the name of jesus and before we ask you for anything we bless you just for being god we don't thank you for anything that you have done god because we have the testimony that if you never do anything else you have already done enough god so for those of us even if we're weary in our bodies and tears in our eyes we say thank you thank you for being the god that woke us up this morning thank you for being the creator god that sustains the world by your breath and your power thank you for being a god that protects and provides that makes ways out of no ways that puts rivers in the midst of desert places thank you oh god we bless you just for being god for being faithful to us for never giving up on us even when we give up on you you're still there thank you that you are a god that we can call on your name in the midst of turmoil and chaos and know that you will answer us god we dare not believe that you will do anything on our behalf god if we don't repent so god we pray a prayer of repentance right now in the name of jesus we don't pray because we're perfect but because we have the right answers and the right agenda we pray because we know we need you we pray because we know we've messed up we pray because we know we've missed them our god we are easy to point out the errors in somebody else god but today at this moment we pray for ourselves for the way that we miss the mark for the way that we treat one another for the things that have come out of our mouth god we pray and we come before you asking you to forgive us we say that we are sorry but we're not just sorry help us to repent true repentance is a changing of the mind a changing of the heart a changing of the direction forgive us god god i channel my grandmother and i plead the blood of jesus over your people right now god i come in a ministry of intercession there is a need for salvation in the chat amongst your people and healing and deliverance oh god we pray for those who call tents and call the sky their homes and the concrete their pillows oh god while we sit in our living rooms and in our cars having easy ways there are those who are struggling god in the midst of this pandemic but you are you are jehovah jireh you are the god who provides for us and who makes a way out of no way so we bring them before you oh god and we ask that you use us god we don't expect you to rain bread out of heaven when we have enough bread to share with those who don't have any touch in our hearts oh god and make us committed to the ministry of jesus christ god even in this hour i pray for those god under the sound of my voice who are tired who are weary in their spirit who are lonely who are doing the best that they can to hang on i pray for their minds keep their minds right now in the name of jesus god we pray for their sanity we pray for those who are struggling in their emotions we are praying against the spirit of depression oh god that you would send someone let them know that they are not in this by themselves we thank you o god for every leader of allen temple baptist church every member oh god even though we've been disconnected in person you've kept us connected through technology and we thank you god but there are those who are on the fringe those on the margins that we haven't been able to reach make us diligent until each and every person oh god is brought back into the fold i thank you lord because i have as a testimony that i descend from a people that when they were in the midst of oppression they knew how to go to the hush harbor and call on your name oh god they knew how to get in a circle and shout and sing in the manner that they brought from africa and you met them at the point of their needs we descend from that people who did not know the language who did not know the culture but knew that that there was a god a god that they called by a different name a god that was different than the god that their oppressors tried to teach them about we call on that god and we say strengthen us lead us and guide us keep us and anoint us unify us and protect us convict us and challenge us and if we stray bring us back god that we never forget what it is that we've been called to do we thank you lord because we've come this far by faith leaning on you trusting in your holy word and we can testify you've never failed us yet so even though we're tired lamenting and grieving we confess we're not going to turn around because we have come this far by faith there are those whose names we can't call but you know touch holy spirit there are those who we don't even know to pray for god but you know move by your power sin a fresh anointing strengthen us at this hour that we may rise to the occasion and answer the call god i pray for every person on this call who have prayed because even though they pray for others they have needs of their own bless their households touch their finances their marriages their children their families bless everything concerning them oh god god i pray for those who are not visible who work behind the scenes god who do things that we don't even know that they do i pray for our custodians i pray for those who open doors those at our testing site who have tested almost thirty thousand people i pray for them oh god for new members who have come into the fold i pray for them and i thank you for the power of prayer because we know that you are well able to do anything but fail so meet us at the point of our need and god we are not a people who will withhold our praise we are a people that will praise you in advance for what we believe you are going to do so we thank you for it now we thank you for it now we thank you for it now and we pray for the one who led us for 40 years the one on whom shoulders we stand we pray for him we pray for his family we call the name of j alfred smith jr oh god my predecessor who was courageous enough oh god to bring a woman help us to remember there is no victory in cowardice that at this age at this hour we are called to be courageous help us even now we pray for him strength for his body as he closes us out and prays a prayer of protection for us in jesus name and those who believe said amen and amen pastor emeritus we love you pray for us god bless you my pastor have you not known have you not heard the lord is the everlasting god the creator of the ends of the
