hi friends I'm Lola and today we're gonna talk about my 150 favorite books okay so I wanted to do a video about all of my favorite books right and then I did it like I found all the books I destroyed my bookshelves and there are so many and too many to talk about each book individually or this video would literally be three hours long so I don't really know what to do now if you'd rather just look at a Goodreads list I will make it and link it down below because this is just gonna be that I'm not gonna have an opportunity to talk about these books at length I'm literally just telling you the titles of a hundred and fifty of my favorite books and I'll try to lump them into categories so you know where they fit or like what you're in the mood for you can just pick from that category there's a specific reason that I'm doing this and you'll find out in an announcement later today yeah there's not there's really not gonna be that much information so you can go look up more information about each of these books after if you want this video is definitely not for everybody but also I'm doing a giveaway of ten of my favorite books so I'm a book I live longer friend click my link in the description and you can see every book in this box and buy it for yourself and see every other book I've ever bought from book outlet but I decided to buy ten of my favorite books and give them away to one of you and maybe you can read them soon in a certain thing that's happening okay but each of the books in here also fits into a different category I'm just gonna go through the box first and talk about these ten first even though it messes up my whole category system so the ten bucks that I bought the book outlet and you can buy two or you can win first one is the rest of us just live here by Patrick Ness if hey we're to give you a genre for each of those that would make sense so that one is like fantasy then I've got which would by Tahereh Mafi which is a middle grade fantasy the first time she drowned by Carrie clutter this is a really dark mother-daughter relationship I have when dimple met Ricky by Sanju menon this is like a nerdy love story the rattled bones by SM Parker is a ghost story foolish hearts by mm ELLs is a precious ye romance flying lessons is a middle grade anthologies the names that gave us by Emory Ward which is an intense why a Bible Camp stories wild beauty by Anna Marie McClure which is magical realism and I have because you love to hate me the YouTuber booktuber author collaboration and Sala G about villains click my link and by any of these from them right now right now they're in stock so or you can see on my page when you click it if they're in stock when you're watching it and one of you is gonna win one of these and all you have to do is comment down below every single comment is gonna count for the giveaway anywhere in the world I will send you my box a book outlet books so there we go we already got through ten of the hundred and fifty okay so now we can move on to the rest of these books yeah I guess I could have like done a separate video on each genre that I'm kind of talking about but it would require remembering the plot and characters from a hundred fifty book I don't remember all the little details like that but I remember that I gave it five stars or four and a half stars anyway we're going to start with why a are they all white we're gonna start with why a fantasy of this first stack is more like realistic fantasy so it could be urban fantasy or just like light something they also exists in the real world or has real world elements this is becoming a mess okay blood red road by Moyer yelling I've only read the first book in the series the unbecoming of Mara Dyer the entire series The Raven boys and the whole Raven cycle by Mikey Steve otter the wrath and the dawn by renee fda every heart a doorway the entire series by Seanan McGuire flame in the mist only this book so far I'm by Renee I see a divergent by Veronica Roth the kiss of deception by Mary Ann Pearson a great terrible beauty I Libba Bray so those all have some little like magical fantastical futuristic element but also like real-world components if you also enjoy that in books like I do then some higher fantasy stuff I don't know if I read high fantasy but I'm like books that involve like non-human creatures or exist in a different world or something like that so The Maze Runner by James Dashner just the first book I've got shadow and bone by Leigh bardugo mainly the first book in the series six of crows by Leigh bardugo girls of paper and fire by Natasha Hagen Dredd nation iJustine Ireland trail of lightning by Rebecca wrong horse those all have some type of creatures monsters zombies something and then these ones I put in like a sci-fi category but technically like a couple of other ones I already mentioned could fit in ready player one by Ernest Cline dare mighty things by Heather Kaczynski the final six by Alexander Monier and this is more like thriller nerve by Gene Ryan next I have a giant stack of we're still in like the fantasy or sci-fi section but these are all stand-alones a lot of my favorite books end up being kind of real-world with a little magic little fantasy so that's the biggest here we've got a million June's and they'll love us with the world by Emily Henry I loved them both pretty much equally they're not part of a series a lot of people asked me not though I feel like I need to tell you the magical element but it's really difficult like I haven't go spirit hmm magic uh these three books by Patrick Ness are my favorites a monster calls which is about a monster the rest of us just live here which is kind of about people with powers and more than this which the most confusing book you'll ever read okay I have my favorite Shawn David Hutchinson in here which is weird the ants aliens the Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern magic like straight-up magic five to one by Holly bodger I don't even remember the magic of this but I remember there's enough man to see genre carry on my morale which is the beginning of a series but no books have come out after it yet wizard which vampire stuff going bovine by Libba Bray on you know it's road trip talking animals new stars in color of after which is magic and bird grief the gallery of unfinished girls by Lauren Kirk's it's like a magical Club this videos going downhill I'm dead girl gang by Willie Anderson zombies the afterlife of Holly chase involves the afterlife my favorite is Kings are right here still like with tornado i crawl through it and everybody sees the ants they all exist in the real world and then have a magical vibe thanks for the trouble bye Tommy Wallach which is like Manic Pixie dream girl stuff and a room away from the wolf's by Nova Ren suma which I don't even know how to explain it are using a break okay let's keep going now I'm gonna do why a contemporary these might not all fall in contemporary but okay these ones will focus mostly on like a roman like a relationship oh here's my four favorite Casey West's we've got listen to your heart love life in the list lucky in love and my all-time favorite yes I like you she is definitely one of my favorite like why a contemporary romance authors other ones all the ways I love before and the entire series by Jenny Han and me and Oliver by Robin Ben way somewhere of salt by Katrina Leno this also has some magical elements shoot like water by Rebecca POTUS Eliza and her monsters by Francesca zip eeeh the last boy and girl in the world by Siobhan Vivian Penan the Duff by Cody coupling er how to love by Katie took know what if it's a spy becky albertalli and adam Silveira why we broke up bye Daniel Daniel handler a quiet kind of Thunder by Sarah Bernard Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe by Benjamin Alire sáenz oh and I don't know how this one slipped in here the selection by Kiera Cass these are all row man centric and then everything else by becky albertalli so we on the offbeat at the upside of unrequited time that with Homo sapiens agenda' this one being my all-time favorite and then I have a stack of like even if there is a romancing here the romance is not the main point of the story so we're gonna call this stack happy why a and then after that we have a stack of sad why a so dress cons for small towns like Courtney Stevens this is my favorite book ever far from the tree by Robin Ben way valley girls by Sarah Nicole lemon everything by Emma Mills specifically first and then in foolish hurts I'll give you the Sun by Jandy Nelson the haters by Jesse Andrew and little do we know by Tamara Ireland stuff those are all why a that if you want to read something like puts you in a good mood that's when I recommend if you want to read some why a that's gonna make you sad or mad here are my recommendations the names they gave us by Emery Lord oh I already recommend that in my book outlet stack whoops radio silence by Ellis Osmond a list of cages by Robin Roe everything beautiful is not ruined by Danielle young almond stains and misfits by FK a leaf girl made of stars by actually hearing Blake the first time she drowned oh that was what the next couple are kind of like thrillers I already did a whole video of my favorite thrillers but I didn't put these in because they're not maybe as thriller II and stay should be in that video okay girls girls on fire by Robin Wasserman and then anything by Alexander Fury I've got the telling the creeping and also first we were for these aren't necessarily like super sad like sometime are really empowering but they deal with hard-hitting or intense topics is what I'm trying to say so the poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo the sky is everywhere by Jandy Nelson beautiful broken things by Sarah Bernard the hain't you give by Angie Thomas forbidden by Tabitha sue Zuma this song will save your life by Leila sales and American Street by Ibiza boy I just don't know how else I could have done this video like I'm just listing title ok and then I'm a stack of middle grade so if you're looking for some middle grade recommendations if you just like when a grader you have if you're male grade age or you know someone who's middle grade age these are my favorites in that age range the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison the entire thing the first one is Angus bouncing full frontal snogging a mal unbound by Aisha Saeed these span a lot of different genres in tropics so furthermore I already talked about harbour me by Jacqueline Woodson Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews I don't know if this is technically middle grade that's the age I've read it tuck everlasting my Natalie's have it again I don't know what the age range but I read that in school around that age Lord of the Flies by William Golding wonder by RJ Palacio and orbiting Jupiter by Gary dich MIT and of course I almost forgot my all-time favorite middle grade star girl by Jerry Spinelli okay we did why a we did mill grade now we're gonna move over to anthologies and that's gonna take us into adult so my favorite anthologies are all out um a thousand beginnings and endings slash her girls and monster boys I already talked about this one and then rogues is my favorite of like this series like the dangerous woman kind of anthology series or else is the best one then love beyond body space and time and I think that's all for anthologies I have like some story collection but they're not anthologies because they're just from one author so that thing around your neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and her body and other parties by Carmen Ram Machado and then these ones are an anthology but they're like nonfiction mostly so I've got don't call me crazy which is about mental health and here we are which is about feminism other books about feminism we're getting into nonfiction now it seems I am dear a Zhu Li or a feminist manifesto in 15 suggestions again by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and i'm afraid of men by vivek shreya these are really short essays and then continuing my favorite nonfiction the last lecture by randy pausch the glass castle by Jeannette Walls in order to live by you and me Park and then all my favorite mountain I mean books which is all of them I've ever read into thin air by Jon Krakauer the climb by anatoli boukreev and dead mountain by donnie Iker and then just a couple other things that didn't really fit into those categories when Jack by Joseph Boyden and then for poetry milk and honey by rupee core and the flame by Leonard Cohen and lastly we have adult fiction again I'm gonna categorize it by like something that's like fantasy or sci-fi or otherworldly elements and then realistic fiction so for realistic stuff big little lies by Leon Moriarty 13 ways of looking at a fat girl by Mona Awad the wife's by Meg Wolitzer the smell of other people's houses by Bonnie sue Hitchcock the secret history by Donna Church the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt birdie by Tracy Lindberg girls burn brighter by Shobha REO everything I never told you much less ting this is where I leave you by Jonathan Tropper the dinner by Herman Koch little fires everywhere Beck's listing still Alice by Lisa Genova and then my two favorite Colleen Hooper's I think the only adult romance on this list if you could call these romance I guess we will it ends with us and all your perfect okay and then my stack of like not so realistic is 11/22/63 by Stephen King I talked about other Stephen King's in my Thriller video that was not a thriller of course the Martian by Andy weir one of my all-time favorites I guess all of these are all-time favorites but you know anything slaughterhouse-five by Kurt Vonnegut the knight guest by Fiona MacFarlane into the forest by Gene hagglund station eleven by Emily st. John Mandel The Wanderers by Meg Howry and one of my other like all-time all-time favorites the mayor thieves make sure you do Moline okay those are like 150 of my favorite books so I hope the people who this video was for enjoyed it you didn't need me to talk about the books you just wanted to look at more just a Goodreads list so that's what this video was for for the people who are hoping I was going to talk more about each individual thing I'm really sorry but I hope I sub categorize them low enough that you can maybe find something that you'll like based on what I like and that was just all of my favorite books ever I will see you later thank you so much for watching bye
