All in one search in Visual Studio 2022 (Version 17.5) | Search Code and Features in one window

foreign my name is nitish Kumar in this video we will talk about some new features of Visual Studio a new version of Visual Studio 2022 has been launched recently this version is 17.5 there is a great feature that has been added in this version let's talk about that whenever we are working on any software development the most important feature is to search through your code and all the features that are available in the editor that is the visual studio a new feature has been added in Visual Studio to search through your code and the features let's see how it works to use this feature first of all you have to update your visual studio and for that you can click on this help and click on this check for updates here you will get a window and by clicking on that update button you will get the latest version of the visual studio I have already updated that so here you can see the current version of my visual studio 2022 is 17.5.0 the first feature is all in one search to enable this search we have to click on this tools go to options under this environment tab you will see we have some preview features and once you will click on this one you will see new Visual Studio search experience click on this one once you will click on this one you have to restart your Visual Studio let's click on the OK button save all the changes and restart it I'm going to close it and I will open it again to use this all-in-one features you simply have to click over here and you will get a new window here you will see there are two options first is this code search second is this feature search this code search will work to search anything in your code and this feature search will work to search any feature of the visual studio let's close it and first let's create a new application so here I'm clicking on this project and let's get a new asp.net core web application click on this next button here is the name of my application this is the location and let's click on this next button I am using the dotnet 7.0 version the version of.net core does not matter in this case all that matter is the latest version of Visual Studio let's click on this create button let's see all the changes let's close everything what we have over here and here is the solution Explorer to open the search window either I can click on this one or I can also use the keyboard shortcut which is Ctrl t for code search and control Q for the feature search you can open the window by using any one of the option and once you will have you can toggle in between them let's press Ctrl Q to open this search window let's see what we have in this application here we are having some pages we are having this error.cs HTML we are having this index.cs HTML let's open this search code search and here if I'm typing index you will see I'm getting a list here you will see that I am having this index model and this is basically the preview of this particular code if I click on this one again you will see we are having this IND that is coming from this index model and this is how we can search I can also filter out this search by using these options if I want to search only the files with the name then I can use this option and I will get only the files that are having this particular text in their name like this if I want to search only the types then I can click on this one and you will see we are having only the types talking about the members here also you will see that we are having this index model member over here so you can search through your code at this particular place there is one more very important feature you can also perform several operations over here so if you right click over here and you will see we are having couple of options like rename remove sort and using go to page go to definition everything will work over here and you can use any one of them now let's talk about this feature search this feature search will search all the features that are available in this Visual Studio let's say I want to work with Git so here I'm searching for git you will see I am having all the options of the git commit or stash git get changes get repository so many options are available over here let's say I want to search for the theme here you will see we are having the blue theme of this visual studio if I click on this one so then you will see we are getting this blue theme there are so many things that you can perform over here let's say I want to open the test Explorer I can search simply this one and I can click on this one and you will see you are having this test Explorer this is how you can search everything in this video Studio including the code the feature everything only by using one single window that is all in this video thank you for watching have a great day foreign [Music]
