Aldi vs Walmart: Which One Is Cheaper?

hey guys welcome to this episode of the rachel cruz show we say it all the time but it's true your grocery budget it's the rough one i mean it's that line item in the budget that always seems to go over so you know i love a good deal when it comes to food so i wanted to compare two different stores that you all know as really money-saving stores i mean you hear them you're like yes you can save so much money you ready for it walmart and aldi that's right we're bringing aldi back so i really want to compare the store brand of each so walmart store brand is called great value aldi has a couple of different store brands but everything on the aldi's section in this hand will always be from aldi their store brand now we bought all this food here at this time period in franklin tennessee so prices may differ depending on where you live when you're watching this but again i love a side-by-side comparison to see okay who wins because out there you hear the rumors you hear the rumors but we're gonna end those rumors here we're gonna tell truth truth is coming to you people aldi versus walmart so we're gonna go through different categories uh everything from pantry to produce to meat lots of stuff so let's get to it first up we're gonna talk about meat aldi has really upped their meat game over the past couple of years lots of options there so here we got aldi it's three dollars and 79 cents for this bacon then the bacon at walmart is three dollars and 24 cents so walmart wins the bacon game and we all win when it comes to bacon but walmart wins with the prices all right next up is chicken all right chicken from walmart's they didn't have the great value brand so we just picked up some purdue chicken raw chicken it's like my favorite thing in the whole world i'm so gross okay ollie pretty heavy yep okay daldy brand so aldi is a dollar 89 a pound walmart dollars and 13 cents a pound hardcore aldi wins great great great now we're gonna disinfect everything that we just touched okay next up we'll do some ground beef all right we got some raw meat still here grounds beef we got walmarts four dollars and 83 cents pounds and then aldi is 2.99 i'm not crazy y'all i mean come on aldi yep aldi wins this one next we're gonna move on to eggs all right eggs we got aldi one dollar and ten cents for a dozen eggs walmart one dollar and 19 cents aldi wins again by nine cents a little less than a dime but it's the winner okay we're gonna move on to dairy all right first up when it comes to dairy two percent milk aldi two dollars and fifty cents walmart get ready two dollars and fifty cents it's our first time so alden walmart milk same price all right next up is butter all right when it comes to butter we got walmart two dollars and ninety-eight cents aldi two dollars and eighty-nine cents aldi wins again nine cents countryside creamery it's the winner against walmart sorry walmart okay next is a staple in the cruise household shredded cheddar cheese all right shredded cheddar cheese aldi 2.99 walmart 2.77 cents walmart wins and bigger than you think because lookie here this is 11 ounces which is so funny to me i don't know why i was like just 12 ounces and then this one is 16 ounces so way more value with walmart shredded cheddar cheese so walmart you are the clear winner for sure on this one all right a good old summer dish ice cream ice cream walmart a dollar and 97 cents for half a gallon aldi half a gallon for a dollar 85 cents the winner is aldi again sally there's nothing in these which made me very sad when they put them on the table that's okay we're gonna get through it okay next is a healthier option than ice cream almond milk almond milk aldi oh it's kind of heavy a dollar 79 walmart a dollar eighty-two holy man just winning the race so far aldi's the winner all right so let's move on from dairy and go to produce first step in produce apples walmart they didn't have the great value brands but these were three dollars and seventy cents aldi 2.99 aldi wins all right on from apples going to oranges all right oranges or like the little cuties this is we buy these at my house because my girls love these so much um great snack very healthy okay we got walmart three dollars and seventy cents aldi three dollars and fifty nine cents oldie wins the cutie game the oranges okay next is bananas bananas walmart 47 cents a pound aldi 46 cents a pound one penny oh the crazy store you just keep on winning okay next is bell peppers all right bell peppers aldi dollars and 29 cents for our bag of three i love the noise walmart three dollars and 34 cents for a back of three whoa whoa aldi wins by a lot way more a lot so aldi great job on the pepper game next is spinach all right spinach my favorite food all right to walmart a dollar and 88 cents per bag aldi a dollar 29 cents a bag aldi wins and i'm gonna say this people just by looking with my two eyes walmart's bag they only filled it up like right there like aldi again this is not i'm not paid by aldi i'm just telling you what i see i mean it goes all the way up to about there so just saying just saying okay next we're gonna go into the pantry and see what you need to stock up on in your pantry that is cheaper so we're gonna start off with flour all right walmarts when it comes to flour is a dollar and 18 cents aldi a dollar and 15 cents the winner aldi again okay next is organic chicken stock so you got walmart a dollar and 98 cents aldi 2.99 omar takes the lead majorly in this so if you need chicken broth organic go to walmart's all right next every kid's favorite snack organic applesauce pouches all right organic applesauce pouches we got walmart 2.46 for four pouches and aldi and 1.49 cents for four major win for the aldi team okay next black beans all right black beans walmart 48 cents a can aldi 50 cents a can walmart coming back two cents cheaper all right next something i can't live without coffee all right coffee we got great value walmart three dollars and 88 cents aldi three dollars and 65 cents aldi wins this one all right next rice rice and beans you're not gonna see a ramsay video about rice and beans okay a bag of rice walmart a dollar 44 cents aldi a dollar 89 cents now obviously this is a bigger bag but we did the math look at the ounces and everything and well walmart still wins yep so well done walmart you got one next is peanut butter peanut butter you'll love it or you hate it but it's a thing walmart is a dollar and 32 cents aldi a dollar and 19 cents aldi wins the peanut butter game okay we're gonna move on to the miscellaneous category and this is a category in our budget that of course we can overspend on so hopefully this will be helpful so we're gonna first look at diapers okay diapers very expensive you can always spend a pretty penny on diapers but walmart you can have 160 diapers in a box for 17.57 aldi you have 100 diapers for 10.99 so when you do the math it's actually 11 cents per diaper at both places so it's a tie aldi walmart great prices for for your diapers all right next trash bags all right trash bags walmart five dollars and 12 cents so that comes out to 12 cents per bag aldi 4.95 cents 11 cents per bag so aldi you win next is dish soap and walmart a dollar and 98 cents aldi dollar 69 cents audi's the winner there all right you guys looks like the overall experiment aldi wins that crazy don't you love it because you hear people say oh yeah it's cheaper to buy it here here here well again we took all the theories and we brought you truth brought you truth but again your grocery budget always is a place that is so easy to bust the entire budget for the month i know it is for us so being really specific and really intentional with that money and all of you on baby steps one through three specifically like when you're cutting expenses to get out of debt to build your emergency fund the grocery is a great place to cut so change where you
