Air Jordan 2 Retro Low "Cherrywood": Review & On-Feet

[Music] foreign [Music] what's up everybody it's Sean here and I'm back today to give you a review of this Air Jordan 2 Retro Low cherry wood so this is a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 2 low which brought back on June 17th here in Canada for a price of 190 Canadian dollars which is approximately I believe 150 US dollars so the official colorway for this shoe is white cherry wood red and light steel gray and this cherry wood colorway was originally made famous with the Air Jordan 16 in the same colorway so Jordan brand has been really focusing their efforts on the Air Jordan 2 and to be honest the results have been kind of mixed The Jordan 2 just to put it out there isn't the most popular Air Jordan silhouette and it has big shoes to fill because it's in between the Jordan 1 and the Jordan 3. and I don't know if this is a hot take but the Air Jordan 2 might be the only Signature Air Jordan shoe where the low top version of the shoe might look a little bit better than the original mid-cut release I know a lot of people out there that only wear the Jordan 2 lows so leave a comment down below to let me know your thoughts so diving straight into the details the upper of the shoe for the most part is constructed out of a slightly tumbled white leather so on the toe box you can see this leather here and then just like any other Air Jordan 2 we have the single row of perforations which loops around the front half of the sneaker surrounding the front toe cap we have another overlay of the same weight leather and this leather has a pretty nice softness to it and it feels pretty good quality to the touch in terms of the eyelets so the bottom eyelet is done in the circular metallic white finish and then the next four eyelids above this this is constructed out of a white colored TPU underneath this we have more of those perforations that we saw earlier on the toolbox and then this quarter panel of the shoe first of all this layer has a backing of burgundy which you can see peeping out the side and then the panel itself is constructed out of a cream or off-white colored leather which in real life is somewhere in between a crack leather and a really rough suede so this has a very interesting finish to it and it gives the shoe some uniqueness and its own character surrounding the back half of the sneaker we have this TPU overlay which gives you added structure and support for the back end of the shoe so this is painted in white on the bottom half and then the top half is painted in this cherry wood or burgundy color and just like any other Air Jordan 2 we have this ribbed finish to it at the top as far as the leases go so unfortunately they only give you one least option and they're just a normal flat style lace in white underneath this just like any other recent Air Jordan 2 that has released the tongue here is constructed out of a synthetic leather so you can see we have these perforations along the tongue and we have another overlay of synthetic leather on the top and in the middle we have this cut out revealing this rubberized Air Jordan wings logo which is done in a mix of cherry wood and black the back of the tongue and the inner liner of this shoe this is covered in a cherry wood colored textile and like most Jordan twos the collar area of the shoe is pretty well padded and then as far as the insoles go so these come with a thin polyurethane foam insole it's covered in this white colored finish on top and we have Nike Air branding stamped on the heel in red so the upper of these Air Jordan 2s sits atop this full length polyurethane foam midsole which is entirely painted in White in case within this midsole but not visible to the eye of course we have Nike Air Technology for cushioning and then turning this pair over to the bottom so this is your traditional Air Jordan 2 outsole design however it's constructed out of a mix of gray and cherry wood colored rubber but like any other Jordan 2 we have that same circular pivot point on the forefoot and the white hit down the center of the heel this is actually exposed polyurethane foam so you can see we have Nike branding along with the size of the shoe which in this case is a size 10. so that breaks down the look and the construction of these Air Jordan 2s and for those wondering about sizing so my foot measures as a true size 10 slightly on The Wider side and I got these in a size 10 and they fit me really really well so for most people out there I feel like going true to size should be perfectly fine for this shoe unless you have a really really wide foot then you might want to consider going up a half size to give you guys a point of comparison I feel like in comparison to an Air Jordan one low these twos are a lot more snug and much more true to size whereas for the Jordan one low I know a lot of people are able to go down a half size so use that information as you will just to give you guys a quick comparison moving on to the Comfort so these Jordan 2 lows feel pretty much like your normal Jordan 2 minus of course the fact that we don't have that collar on the shoe so because that this variation feels a lot lighter and you have a lot more mobility and freedom to move your feet around however the under fulfilling is pretty much identical Jordan twos are pretty comfortable for a retro shoe and when you compare it to the Jordan 1 for example you're going to feel a lot more elevated and higher off the ground this midsole feels a lot chunkier and there's definitely noticeably more Comfort underfoot however you do lose some of that ground feel and the Jordan 2 is just a heavier shoe than the Jordan one so it comes down to personal preference on what sort of setup you prefer if you're someone that needs a bit more cushioning and more of that soft feel underfoot then I would recommend the Jordan 2 over the Jordan one finally in terms of the quali and craftsmanship so first off material quality I thought it was very solid for a general release Air Jordan I thought the material quality was definitely above average so this white leather that they used it looks and feels like a genuine leather and as far as Jordan brand standards go I have to say I was pretty happy with the quality of this material and in terms of the build and the craftsmanship on this pair so I thought it wasn't perfect but it was okay so I had some small minor issues on my pair for example some extra loose threads I had to trim off myself there were a little bit of blemishes around the midsole area I don't know if it was dirt or paint but in terms of the actual construction and the consistency of my left foot versus the right foot both of my shoes look pretty identical and there wasn't any warping in the soles or anything like that so like I said it wasn't a perfectly built shoe but the flaws that I had I guess you can chalk it up to this just being a mass-produced general release Air Jordan release [Music] everything [Music] so with all that out of the way now let me toss these on feet I'll lace them up and I'll show you guys how these look [Music] foreign [Music] The Jordan 2 in general is a heavily slept on Silhouette so I'm not surprised whatsoever that this shoe is completely sitting and I believe every single size on Nike Canada's website but to the earlier question I asked you guys I do agree though that the Air Jordan 2 low is an easiest shoe to pull off than the Air Jordan 2 mid especially right now during the summer I think this is a very solid option to wear especially if you don't want to be wearing the same shoe that a lot of people are going to be rocking at the same time but the thing I love most about this colorway is that I just feel like it has a very mature vibe to it this cherry wood red colorway it kind of has like a bit of a classier feel and look so because of that I feel like this is a shoe that you can either dress down or dress up so it kind of gives you the best of both worlds it's still a sneaker at the end of the day but because it's pretty minimalistic in terms of branding and it's just a simple and clean colorway I think this is something you can pull off if
