hi i'm christian mazur professional fitness trainer at the cooper fitness center in dallas texas today we're talking about brain health and one of the exercises that i like to work with my clients on is agility now why do we say agility that's one of the main things that i've noticed as people age we lose agility coordination and balance so the agility ladder is a tool that i use to help people work through the different exercises the research out there shows that dance training as well as agility work helps to strengthen areas in our brain such as spatial awareness coordination and cognitive abilities as well as language so what i'd like to do is show you guys a set of exercises that are super easy for you to do at home or in the gym [Music] um [Music] um [Music] hmm [Music] so as you can tell i've worked up a sweat my breathing is a little bit elevated my heart rate definitely elevated and that's great you work use this as a cardiovascular tool but also with the firing rate of the body our nervous system is trying to keep up with the demand of what we're trying to do for it and what we're looking to do is increase firing rate as we get fatigued firing rate goes down so then we're training ourselves to actually be a little bit slower so my recommendation is to give yourself 30 seconds to a minute of rest between every two exercises so that you can recuperate and be at your fastest game [Music]
