hey guys what's up I am Mikkel from devotions calm and welcome to this brand-new After Effects tutorial into this video I am going to show you guys how to create a very cool looking hacking security animation inside of After Effects actually it's kind of an intro promo animation what a way that you can call it so it's very simple and easy to create we will be using some very simple step and it's gonna be a long tutorial so if you are a beginner in After Effects then this tutorial can be just perfect for you because I will be covering each and every step throughout the complete process and that is the reason this tutorial is gonna be around 30 minutes so yeah without wasting any more time let's actually jump into the tutorial and get started [Music] alright so let's start by creating a new composition let's make this 1920 into 1080 and I'm gonna call this main as this is gonna be our main composition let's make this 30fps and for the comm I'll keep it 10 seconds long hit OK hit ctrl Y on the keyboard to create a new solid I'll call this BG for background hit OK and going to fix and preset and type in a ramp let's drag and drop the gradient ramp onto our background set this to radial ramp swap the colors bring the white color at the center and drag this one out just like so and for this one I'll go with a nice dark bluish green color something like maybe a bit more blue just a touch ok so that is looking great let's increase the ramp scatter to 200 so we don't get any color bendings that is looking great let's go ahead and create a new composition this is gonna be that nice glitzy blocks that you see in the background which makes the complete you know clean film or organic so I'll call this block and hit okay hit control Y to create a new solid and call this fractal going to fix in presets and I'm going to type in fractal noise basically and drag and drop it onto the solid let's change the noise type to block we don't want any complexity right now so I'm gonna bring that down to one actually we can play around with the contrast and the brightness depending on what kind of look we want to go for so for the contrast I'll set this to 250 and for the brightness I'm gonna bring that down to minus eighty so that is looking pretty good let's increase the scale a bit so I'll increase the scale amount to 200 and that should be good now I want this blocks to keep on animating throughout the composition so what we can do is hold alt and click on the stopwatch of evolution and type in an expression or very simple expression time into 400 so what this is going to do is keep on animating the evolution of the fractal noise maybe I think the 400 is a bit too much so I'll set it to 200 and now we have this really simple kind of an fractal blocky animation now let's go back into our main comp and drag in the block composition on the top of the background hit f4 so we can see the blending modes and set the blending mode to screen all right let's hit s to bring down the scale properties and set this to around maybe 75 because the blocks are a bit too big you can do this in the fractal you know noise as well but I like to adjust things outside so that is looking good maybe I'll bring down the opacity so hati to bring down the opacity properties and set this to around 20 that should work fine then let's go ahead and add motion tile effect but right now as you can see the layer is a bit small for the complete composition so what we can do is go into face and preset panel and type in motion tile drag and drop that onto our blocks and increase the output width and height to 200 this 1 to 200 as well so it cover-ups the complete frame that is looking pretty great let's add a tenth on this so we can add some color to the blocks so I can drag and drop the tint you can just double click as well but let's say I'll add a nice blue color maybe a greenish blue something like that is looking very good now before we move ahead with the project let's go ahead and create a new camera so we can you know place our things into the three dimension so I'll hit a four turn on the 3d for our layer and that is basically looking pretty good let's create a new null object this is gonna be our rotation for the camera movement so I'll call this of tation and let's create a new null object again called this zoom all right so let's select the camera first of all make the null 3d so that you can parent the camera to the nulls so I'll parent the camera to the rotation hit R at the let's actually go to two seconds create a keyframe on the Z rotation as well as the position so hit P to bring another position create a keyframe hit U so we can see just the keyframes go at the very beginning and set the rotation to 120 degrees and zoom in just like so unless and until the blocks get out or disappears from the frame just like that so now we have something like this so this is looking pretty cool but right over here you can see this block appearing in a very different manner so what I can do is I can go into the block settings and let's actually play around with the contrast a bit actually let's play on all this skate so I'll increase the scale or decrease it by 190 degrees and evolution I can get you to times and set this to maybe one to ten actually all right so right now you can see this block appearing in a very you know robust way so what we can do is let's go to ten frames select the blocks hit P to bring down the opacity create a keyframe go at the very beginning and set this to zero so now it will appear in a more faded way and it will look much more nicer so that is looking great let's go to around somewhere around there select the rotation null object null layer and panned this to the zoom null layer hit P to bring down the position create a keyframe go to around five seconds and let's add a bit of a zoom just like that maybe around 100 actually let's go and add a zoom out so I'll set it to minus 400 see we have a little bit of zoom out just like that now I'll select this keyframes hit f9 go into the graph editor right click and select edit speed graph drag this point just a touch and this one's just like so so we have a much more smoother movement I think I'm going to drag this even more let's see yup that is looking pretty nice now let's select the block layer hit ctrl D to duplicate it and hit P to bring down the position properties of the block and right away obviously let's change the color so we can you know differentiate it make it red and what I can do is I can change the position of the blocks to make it a bit more closer to the camera so we get two different layers of blocks as you can see for the blue one and then the red one let's actually hit T to bring down the opacity and increase the opacity to around 35% so I'll move the time indicator right over here and set this to 35 and now we have this really nice a bit of you know sense of a depth into the scene select this hit P and maybe I'll make a two around let's go with - 1700 or something like that yup that is looking much better I think the blocks are a bit too big so I can scale that down scaled it down to 65 yep that looks much better okay that is looking in creating now let's create some noise that we can add in the background to give give a bit more detail to the scene so let's create a new composition call this noise I call this boys but let's make it let's make it nice here okay hit ctrl Y to create a new solid actually we can just copy paste this flatly noise control V to paste that up and what I can do is increase the contrast a bit like maybe on 375 should work good and the brightness I'll bring that down to minus 95 go into the transform properties and unlink the uniform scaling so we can create something like this kind of glitches so I'll actually set it to one one five and this one two let's go to 135 so we have a bit different look you can also add some complexity if you want to but in this case I'm just gonna leave it at one and then what I can do is add an effect called mosaic that would click to apply that up said the horizontal blocks to around maybe let's good 45 or something like that okay and set the vertical blocks to 25 and now you can see we get a really different yet a cool effect so now what I can do is now we don't have any transparency in this layer so to create that let's duplicate this layer that is the fractal noise let's change this one to 380 and this one too many minus 80 I'm going to transform bring that down just like so and increase this a bit just like that and then select this layer hit f4 so we can see the track matte option and change the track my to luma matte and now you can see we get this really cool effect which kind of looks like a glitch basically so you can any time play around with this using the contrast and the brightness and depending the kind of look you want to go for you can tweak it so I just tweak it a little bit so okay so that is looking pretty cool as of now let's go ahead and create a new adjustment layer call this time and add an effect called pasteurized time double click to apply that up and set it to four so now it's gonna change the frame rate of this fractal animation to four and now we get this really kind of a glitch look let's go back into our main composition and drag the noise make it 3d hit f4 so we can see the blending options and set that to screen hit P to bring down the position properties make sure it's 3d I'll go right over here and put this back actually just like that and copy P is the motion tile effect from your hit ctrl C to copy it ctrl V to paste it on the noise really cool look but as you can see the intensity is way too high for the noise I can add an effect called minimax double click to apply that up increase this and what this is gonna do is help us to you know bring up that white and also add some nice detail as you can see it looks super duper cool so that is looking pretty great let's go ahead and add a tint so we can color this up give it a nice darker blue color maybe just a touch there we go bring that at the back and actually let's change the blending mode from screen to add so you can see it more properly maybe I think the intensities way too highs I'll bring this very very like a minimal thing because this layer is just gonna help us to add some nice detail to the complete scene and as you can see already it's looking super cool maybe it's a bit too doc ok that is looking great let's really quickly create a new adjustment layer call this sharp and go in to fix and preset and type in sharpen maybe around 20% should be good yep that is looking pretty great let's close everything so far so good we have our background ready to go it has some nice depth as you can see into our scene also let's add a little bit of opacity animation to the noise as well so hit T create a keyframe go back and set this to zero so we have a really simple and nice animation maybe I'll increase the duration a bit also switch to 16 bits so that you don't get any kind of colour bandings basically as you can see this is looking very nice let me bring down the intensity of the opacity a bit of the color actually a bit so can go right here okay that is looking good just need to greet your in there a bit just so that you get satisfied with the complete result which I'm not yet so what I can do is I can bring down the opacity to 80 yeah that looks much better alright so we have our background we're ready to roll now really quickly let's create a new comp called this grid hit OK hit control Y call this grid as well and select the layer going to fix and preset and type in grid let's adjust this really quick okay then I can drag and drop that composition just like so make it 3d actually so at f/4 make it 3d and also change the borders to maybe 1 but I guess point 8 should be good points 8 okay that is looking great now let's move this layer bit forward in the Z position so move that there let's see for now I'll just switch back to 8 bits so that the project doesn't get really heavy so now we get a bit more depth also this 2 - 600 should be good yep that is looking great let's hit s and bring down the scale to around 80% maybe a bit more to around 70 but more like 60 yep and then copy P is the motion tile effect hit ctrl-c ctrl-v onto the grid and there we go now here we have our grid now I want to add some little bit of animation to this grid as well so I select this head control shift C to pre compose it move all attributes and I'll call this just achieve and now make it 3d and I think actually we need to copy/paste the affect the motion tile effect outside onto this pre comp control V so yeah that is looking good actually maybe bring this down to 85 all right hit f4 and chien the blending mode to soft light so it's very minimal so far so good we have a nice background ready to go now let's go ahead and make this background even more interesting so what we can do is create a new solid hit ctrl Y called this blue layer so we can add some you know fake optical flares basically if you have optical flares pop plug-in you can use that but in case if you don't you can select the layer go into effects and preset and add a fill make this a nice blue color change the blending mode to soft light select the ellipse tool and create a mask just like this big increase the feather properties really high of the Moscow something like that and let's actually select the mask at control T please say right over your me increase the size like that increase the feather to around 800 I think and give it a little bit of light bluish color something like that is looking very nice also let's really quickly add some noise on this just to avoid any kind of color benning's so I'll give it a minimal 2% of noise and for the color keep on tweaking until I find the right color so that is looking great we set the feather to 900 alright that is looking great let's select it hit control D call this red and give it a nice red color hit em to bring down mass properties hit ctrl T and bring the red right over here and also change the blending mode to add make sure the layer is right so the mosket ctrl T again maybe increase the size a bit and just please say maybe right over here also I can just adjust the layer a bit and then bring down the opacity just a touch so that is looking much better I think let's create a new adjustment layer really quick call this CC for color correction and add some simple curves to this and now you can see it's looking the colors are nice you know looking very nice looking like a hacking thing so let's create our text and call this text hit OK and you can of course type in anything that you want I'm typing security talking about security into this world having a secure online presence has become very important and that is when our sponsors of this video not VPN comes into the game as you know VPN stands for virtual private network it keeps your data safe whether you're using a phone tablet PC or a laptop or even a TV not VPN has over 50 200 plus servers in 62 countries which are SuperDuper fast also it's very easy to switch from country to country while using it it doesn't matter where you are you can easily access all your favorite content from anywhere in the world and with not VPN your online activities are out of sight from your internet providers start protecting your internet experience today with seventy five percent off three years plan plus one month free by using the code dope motions at not VPN dot org slash the motions for more information check out the link down in the description now getting back to the video then let's go into drop down property is going to animate and add character offset also what we can do is add opacity bring down the opacity to zero and for the offset I'll go with ten I'm going to range selector advanced properties actually don't need to go into advanced properties you can just animate the offset and there you'll have the animation oh one thing that we need to change from the advanced properties is the randomize order just make it on then I'll go to two seconds or maybe three seconds let's go three seconds create a keyframe on the offset create a keyframe on the offset go back set this to zero and now we have a really simple animation you can see looking very cool let's select it and hit f9 bzz so now we have a very simple animation I think three seconds it's a bit too much I'll make it two seconds and then add some nice tracking to this so I'll go into animate add a tracking so it's gonna create an animator - let's give it a tracking off maybe fifteen should be good also make sure the paragraph of this is set to center so five seconds create a keyframe on the tracking amount go at the very beggining set is to zero so now we have this really nice and simple animation also to add a nice you know field of security you can add some rectangular shapes so I'm gonna add a rectangular shape just like that go into the properties and increase or decrease actually increase the size of height ten and you can play around with the length also I'm gonna move this a bit closer to the text just like that and now we can animate the size so I'll go to five seconds create a keyframe on the size go right over here and set this to zero so now we have a very simple animation just like that select it hit control D move this right over let's drag and drop our text layer into the comp make it 3d so I'll hit f4 switch to 3d and everything is looking very very nice let's go ahead and add some glow on to our text so I'm gonna type in glow and bring that down to 20 increase the radius really high me something like that and that is looking very nice so as you can see this is looking very very cool the project is a bit heavy but yeah that is looking good and the last thing that you can add on this is some nice coding text animation so you're I have some pre-rendered coding text to which I'll provide the link in the description so you can go ahead and download all the assets of this project so I'll you know make it 3d pull this a bit forward in z space just like maybe so bring that down by increasing by decreasing the scale and you can position it wherever that you want so once I'll check the position maybe I'll make it more smaller like thirty percent hit P and pull this closer like minus twelve hundred oh maybe one thousand should be good okay so looking great maybe I'll scale that down a bit maybe 26 depending on your personal preference there is no specific method to do this hit f4 and set the blending mode to soft light should work good yup and that is working fine and then I can what I can do is select this layer hit control D and create few copies let's say five copies and I'll just place them in two different positions just like so and then replace them with a different text so we have code three I'm gonna just hold alt and drag and drop it we have code four hold alt and drag and drop that one right here this one again I can just drag and drop this and yeah that is looking great you can just position them randomly in different spaces you can duplicate them maybe put one right here make this a bit more smaller like 20 this one hit ctrl D position it right over your hit s and increase the size just to add some bit more randomness and then we have a very professional looking hacking intro inside of After Effects without using any kind of plugins just solid person After Effects so that is a wrap for today guys I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and if you did then make sure to subscribe comment and like and I will see you guys in the next video till then take care and always stay raw stay creative
