welcome back to another age of sub tutorial in this video I'll show you how to hard-code your subtitles with your own custom styling on to the video so age' sub only creates the subtitles file it's not actually a video editor it's not an audio editor it just gives us a file I'll show you what I mean so this video here is actually right here we can click and play it with the VLC player and it just plays the video but there's no subtitles associated with it we can choose a subtitles a file somewhere so I have another one from an earlier project we can play so it'll play subtitles down here but it's not the correct subtitles for this video but we can just choose if we want to have subtitles or not but they're not permanently part of the video so to make it permanent we're XR gonna use VLC player but first we need to get the subtitles that we've created in a file that we can have here so we're gonna use the dot a SS file extension so we'll come here go to file and go save subtitles as and we'll just save it in the same directory we'll call it the same thing as the video and there'll be a dot a SS file extension so click Save and so now if we open up the directory we see we have the video but we also have this file that can be opened by age' sub so it has the age of sub icon and if we right click on it and go to edit it tells us all the information about this what time to start the subtitle what time to stop it and what the what the text should read and also all the information about the style we're using so now if we open this in VLC it should just bring it up so it shows our custom styling and everything there but what it's again we can disable this and it's not really part of the video we can choose to see it or we can choose to to not see it so what we want to do is actually open up a new instance of VLC just a blink just the program without a video in it and go to media and go to stream we're gonna actually stream and record the the streaming video so we're going to stream it with the subtitles and then capture or record that so this is just asking us what do we want to stream well let's go choose our video source file and then we'll click this box that says use a subtitle file since it's named the same thing already we actually wouldn't have to do that but it's a good idea to do it anyway so we'll choose the subtitles we want is the subtitles that we just exported and created then we'll click stream this can stay the same it's just saying what source video are we using click Next here we want to this is the destination so the new the name of the new file we want to create basically so I'm gonna click Add and then go to browse and we'll just call it do it underscore card and we'll click Save oh sorry we let's make that a mp4 and then we'll click Next we can leave all this the same except we need to change the settings in this profile you could change this to a different if you want it to have a different video format because it's gonna be actually transcoding the video in order to put the subtitles on but click this button here and click on the subtitles tab and just make sure that these are checked by default they're going to be unchecked just make sure those are checked right there and then hit save leave everything that's how it is click Next we leave everything how it is here this box is unchecked and then just click stream and it looks like it went away but actually just minimized it and it's down here and it's actually going to just play get to the end and once it's at the end it's done we can close this and open up and now we see we have our original video our subtitles file and then also the do it hard video so we can click on this do it hard video and see if the subtitles are hard-coded in there and we see them come up so they're in there as part of the video now we can check because we can go to subtitles and we there's no subtitle track to be extra sure I can actually delete the subtitles folder file and we can click on it and we'll see the subtitles are actually there hard-coded in this video permanently there so that's what to do make sure you have the latest version of VLC you can also do the same thing using handbrake I'll make another video maybe showing how to do that but that is hard coding your subtitles in using HSM to create the subtitles and VLC to actually hard coat them in hopefully found this informative thanks for watching catch you in the next video
