rather than virtually it would be a pleasure to see all the happy faces of the students who have graduated and all the proud and fulfilled faces of the parents with you all of you have crossed a major milestone in your lives today graduating and crossing over to a new life all with the blessings and graduate guidance of your parents a very big congratulations to all of you [Music] when we started the university there are a lot of mixed feelings a lot of ambition a lot of hope a lot of dreams and also some anxiety and anxiety anxiousness to create a great place of learning in this region something not attempted in the private sector till then today as we complete our ten years i can tell you that the anxiety has given way to great satisfaction that we are successful on the path to creating that dream today all of your proof of that dream just when we started our university in 2010 sometime in 2012 we had taken a tour to england to see some leading universities of the world some of the universities had a history of over 200 years all the universities were very proud of their haters and legacy at that moment downtown was just one year old i remember telling the universities that your university may have a glorious past but i promise that our university will have a great future i am proud that the students of this university have learned to emphasize on creativity innovation and righteousness as core values [Music] and with these values i am hopeful that they will prove to be abiding citizens of this great country today seeing all of you i am happy that we are on the his right and visitor to our university should serve churches honorable chancellor distinguished members of the board of trustees and stationary borders respected former vice chancellors respected enough studies respected needed doors environment distinct engaged dear members of university administration their students and respected parents ladies and gentlemen it is indeed a great pleasure to extend their activity to all amidst the student spirit and student generated on his occasion of celebration of the age convocation of this universal journey this day is for recognition and celebrations of achievements quality merit preservation perseverance and resilience in the academic spheres of the universe it is also an occasion for celebrating placements of the university in its honest tribe to create an environment for pursue and achieve excellence in economics on this auspicious day we have reached ours 720 graduates 214 host students and seven daughter of philosophy achievers to be destroyed with their awards of respective kids i congratulate you party and join you and your parents in this moment of your pride joy and happiness in this age convocation to achievements the accomplishments are attained by you will be a source of pride for you and the university and this will inspire the coming generations for building their career and shaping a successful life receiving education and training in this university i am sure that the achievements of the university would also go a long way in developing the much needed production of quality human resource in various fields of the region and the country dear students education is one of the most important and crucial drivers of a socio-economic development in a society and it plays a significant role in making a progressive growth for better life and sustainable livelihood generations this process always demands acceleration and improvement in the rapidly changing scenario in the context of a fast evolving world ecosystem and demand driven diversification in education system the gradual transformation openness and flexibility parameters are compelling us to change the concept of education with a special emphasis on addressing the needs and aspirations of the society and the citizen including the student communities the new education policy 2020 therefore emphasizes on restructuring the system encompassing openness and flexibility with choice-based course structure in order to provide substantial freedom for self-designed and combination of courses enabling to acquire specialized knowledge for growth in right perspective and to compete with the world market of employment and employability it is emphasized that the quality of education being nurtured by the university should reflect on establishment of linkages and collaboration with the industries and with the internationally and nationally acclaimed institutions to exchange knowledge and design curriculum to ensure its relevance to industries and vice versa and assam down to university should take a lead in this aspect active collaboration between deputed universities institutes and organizations of the country and abroad in the field of education research and development and the various other programs including the outreach societal equity and women empowerment add values to teaching research and outreach activities in a vibrant university it is heartening to see that some downtown university is progressively changing towards developing into a modern educational destination in the region offering many diversified disciplines and study areas for the students and thereby not only adding value to the employability but also creating opportunity of self-employment and entrepreneurship the new and recent initiatives are taken by the university administration management and the faculty in the research and development front by streamlining and improving the research management system and obtaining extramural research grants are praiseworthy this will not only help in generation of resources and development of infrastructure for research in the university but would also help in improving quality and standard of master's and doctoral research as well as in direction of integration of teaching and research in higher education and signed in the nap 2020 i do hope assam downtown university being a university dealing with the multidisciplinary approach in education research technology and knowledge sharing plays a pivotal role to shape this interdisciplinary applied approach through its academic modules in oceaning a new dimension in the academic landscape of the region i am pleased to learn the fact that the assam downtown university within the past 10 years of its existence has been able to bring newer perspectives in the academic landscape of the entire northeastern region of india moreover the university has emphasized on various provisions of the new education policy to renew knowledge employment of the students pursuing diversified areas of the studies through customized course modules coupled with the inquiry based and participated teaching and learning methods i am also glad to know that the university is an iso certified institution in quality management system as recognized by sgs international it has also
