I'M JA NAY NORMAN IN FOR LINSEY DAVIS. PRESIDENT BIDEN IS ON HIS WAY BACK TO THE U.S., AFTER CAPPING OFF HIS EIGHT-DAY INTERNATIONAL TRIP WITH HIS HIGH-STAKES SUMMIT WITH RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN. THE TWO MEETING IN JE KNEE HAVE, SHARING A HANDSHAKE BEFORE SITTING DOWN FOR TALKS BOTH LEADERS CALLED CONSTRUCTIVE. EACH APPEARING RELAXED IN FRONT OF THE CAMERAS, BEFORE GOING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. AFTERWARD, PRESIDENT PUTIN TAKING QUESTIONS AND SAYING THERE WAS NO HOSTILITY. AND THAT HE BELIEVES, QUOTE, WE CAN AGREE ON THINGS. PRESIDENT BIDEN TELLING THE PRESS, HE DID WHAT HE CAME TO DO. INCLUDING, PRESSING PUTIN ON THOSE RECENT CYBERATTACKS ON THE U.S., ORIGINATING FROM RUSSIA. WHICH PUTIN HAS DENIED. SO, WHAT RESULTS DID THE SUMMIT PRODUCE? AND WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR U.S.-RUSSIAN RELATIONS GOING FORWARD? WE'LL BREAK IT DOWN WITH OUR ENTIRE TEAM IN GENEVA AND WE START WITH WHITE HOUSE CHIEF CORRESPONDENT, CECELIA VEGA. >> TODAY, AFTER DECLARING U.S.-RUSSIA RELATIONS HIT ROCK BOTTOM, PRESIDENT BIDEN AND RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN SHOOK HANDS IN GENEVA. UNLIKE PAST SUMMITS, PUTIN DIDN'T KEEP THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT WAITING. HE WAS ON TIME. THE TWO MEN BRIEFLY APPEARING BEFORE THE CAMERAS. >> I THINK IT'S ALWAYS BETTER TO MEET FACE TO FACE. >> Reporter: AFTER HOURS BEHIND CLOSE DOORS WITH THEIR TEAMS, THE TWO LEADERS LEAVING SEPARATELY. >> I DID WHAT I CAME TO DO. AND I MUST TELL YOU, THE TONE OF THE ENTIRE MEETINGS. I GUESS, IT WAS TOTAL FOUR HOURS. WAS -- WAS -- WAS -- WAS GOOD. POSITIVE. WHERE WE DISAGREED, I DISAGREED. STATED WHERE IT WAS. HE DISAGREED. HE STATED. B BUT IT WAS NOT DONE IN A HYPERBOL HYPERBOLIC ATMOSPHERE. BOTTOM LINE IS, I TOLD PRESIDENT PUTIN THAT WE NEED TO HAVE SOME BASIC RULES OF THE ROAD. THAT WE CAN, ALL, ABIDE BY. >> Reporter: HE ALSO RAISED HUMAN RIGHTS. RUSSIA'S POISONING AND IMPRISONMENT OF OPPOSITION LEADER, ALEXEI NAVALNY. >> I MADE IT CLEAR TO PRESIDENT PUTIN, THAT WE'LL CONTINUE TO RAISE ISSUES OF FUNDAMENTAL-HUMAN RIGHTS BECAUSE THAT IS WHE ARE. THAT'S WHO WE ARE. >> AND HE CONFRONTED HIM ABOUT THE ISSUE ON THE MINDS OF SO MANY, THE RECENT CYBERATTACKS BY CRIMINALS BASED IN RUSSIA. ONE HIT THE U.S.-MEAT SUPPLY. THE OTHER? CAUSING GAS SHORTAGES AND PRICE SPIKES ON THE EAST COAST. >> I POINTED OUT TO HIM, WE HAVE SIGNIFICANT CYBERCAPABILITY. AND HE KNOWS IT. HE DOESN'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS BUT IT'S SIGNIFICANT. AND IF, IN FACT, THEY VIOLATE THESE BASIC NORMS, WE WILL RESPOND. I THINK THAT THE LAST THING HE WANTS, NOW, IS A COLD WAR. >>> THE PRESIDENT INSISTS HE DID NOT ISSUE THREATS, BUT HE DID ASK THE RUSSIANS THIS QUESTION. >> WHAT HAPPENS IF THAT RANSOMWARE OUTFIT WERE SITTING IN FLORIDA OR MAINE? AND TOOK ACTION, AS I SAID, ON THEIR -- THEIR -- THEIR SINGLE-LIFELINE TO THEIR ECONOMY? OIL. IT'D BE DEVASTATING REQUEST THEY ARE LIKE, YOU CAN SEE THEM KIND OF GO, BUT LIKE, WHOA. >> Reporter: PRESIDENT BIDEN SAYS HE GAVE PUTIN A LIST OF 16 AREAS OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE THAT SHOULD BE OFF LIMITS TO ATTACK FROM THE ENERGY SECTOR TO THE WATER SUPPLY. THE TWO COUNTRIES, ALSO, AGREEING TO HAVE HIGH-LEVEL CYBERSECURITY NEGOTIATIONS. THOUGH, PUTIN STILL DENIES RUSSIA HARBORS CYBERCRIMINALS OR ENGAGES IN CYBERWARFARE. STILL, THE RUSSIAN PRESIDENT SAYING THERE WAS NO HOSTILITY AT THIS SUMMIT. >> HE IS VERY CONSTRUCTIVE. HE'S VERY BALANCED. JUST THE WAY THAT I EXPECTED. HE IS VERY EXPERIENCED. YOU CAN TELL THAT, AT FIRST GLANCE. HE -- HE TALKED ABOUT WHAT -- WHAT HIS MOM SAID. IT SHOWS THE EXTENT OF HIS MORAL VALUES. AND THAT'S ALL QUITE ATTRACTIVE. >> PUTIN CALLING THEIR CONVERSATION VERY OPEN AND FRANK. >> WE SPOKE THE SAME LANGUAGE. THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE, NECESSARILY, HAVE TO LOOK INTO OUR EYES, LOOK INTO OUR SOULS. WE NEED TO HAVE ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE. >> PRESIDENT BIDEN SAYS HE IS TAKING A WAIT-AND-SEE APPROACH. >> WE WILL FIND OUT, WITHIN THE NEXT SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE A STRATEGIC DIALOGUE THAT MATTERS. >> Reporter: AFTER THAT MEETING TODAY, I ASKED, HAS HE NOW CHANGED HIS MIND? >> YOU FAMOUSLY TOLD HIM HE DIDN'T HAVE A SOUL. DO YOU NOW HAVE A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HIM AFTER THIS MEETING? >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. >> Reporter: AS THE PRESS CONFERENCE ENDED, THE PRESIDENT BRISTLING AT THIS QUESTION. >> WHY ARE YOU SO CONFIDENT HE WILL CHANGE HIS BEHAVIOR, MR. PRESIDENT? >> I'M NOT CONFIDENT. WHERE THE HELL -- WHAT -- WHEN DID I SAY I WAS CONFIDENT? I SAID WHAT WILL CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR IS -- THE WORLD REACTS TO THEM AND DIMINISHES THEIR STANDING IN THE WORLD. I'M NOT CONFIDENT OF ANYTHING. >> CECELIA VEGA JOINS US NOW FROM GENEVA. AND CECELIA, PRESIDENT BIDEN NOT HAPPY WITH THAT QUESTION. HE MADE IT CLEAR TODAY THAT IT WILL TAKE MONTHS TO SEE WHETHER THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE U.S. AND RUSSIA HAVE ACTUALLY IMPROVED. >> YEAH, HE ACTUALLY PUT A TIMELINE ON THIS ONE. HE SAYS SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR, TO SEE IF THESE TWO COUNTRIES CAN ESTABLISH A MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE ON THINGS THAT MATTER. HE SAYS THINGS LIKE CYBERSECURITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS. THE PRESIDENT MADE IT CLEAR, TODAY, HE IS UNDER NO ILLUSION. THIS IS NOT ABOUT COMING OUT OF THIS MEETING TRUSTING VLADIMIR PUTIN. HE SAYS THIS IS ABOUT VERIFYING, THEN TRUST. DESPITE THE HANDSHAKES, DPIESPI THE TONE WE SAW TODAY. PRESIDENT SAYS THERE IS STILL A LOT MORE WORK TO DO. >> WE WILL BE WATCHING. CECELIA VEGA, THANK YOU SO MUCH. >>> AND MOMENTS AFTER HIS MEETING WITH PRESIDENT BIDEN, VLADIMIR PUTIN MET WITH A FEW CREDENTIALED JOURNALISTS MOSTLY FROM RUSSIA. BUT ONE OF THEM WAS OUR OWN, RACHEL SCOTT, WHO DIDN'T HOLD BACK WHEN QUESTIONING THE RUSSIAN LEADER ABOUT WHY SO MANY OF HIS OPPONENTS HAVE ENDED UP POISONED, IMPRISONED, OR EVEN DEAD. AND WHEN PUTIN DIDN'T ANSWER DIRECTLY, RACHEL PRESSED HIM, AGAIN. >> YOU DIDN'T ANSWER MY QUESTION, SIR. IF ALL OF YOUR POLITICAL OPPONENTS ARE DEAD, IN PRISON, POISONED. DOESN'T THAT SEND A MESSAGE THAT YOU DO NOT WANT A FAIR-POLITICAL FIGHT? >> Translator: AS FOR WHO IS KILLING WHOM OR THROWING WHOM IN JAIL. PEOPLE CAME TO THE U.S. CONGRESS WITH POLITICAL DEMANDS. 400 PEOPLE -- OVER-400 PEOPLE HAVE CRIMINAL CHARGES PLACED ON THEM. THEY FACE PRISON SENTENCES OF UP TO 20, MAYBE EVEN 25, YEARS. THEY ARE BEING CALLED DOMESTIC TERRORISTS. I'D LIKE TO STRESS, ONCE MORE, THAT WE SYMPATHIZE WITH WHAT HAPPENED IN THE UNITED STATES. BUT WE HAVE NO DESIRE TO ALLOW THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN IN OUR COUNTRY. >> AND RACHEL SCOTT JOINS US, NOW, FROM GENEVA. RACHEL, WHAT WAS PRESIDENT BIDEN'S REACTION TO THAT EXCHANGE THAT YOU HAD WITH PUTIN? >> YEAH. PRESIDENT BIDEN WAS ASKED ABOUT IT AND HE CALLED IT A RIDICULOUS COMPARISON. HE SAYS THAT YOU CANNOT COMPARE THOSE, WHO ARE BEING PROSECUTED FOR BREAKING AND ENTERING THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL, TO THOSE WHO ARE FACING REALLY SEVERE CONSEQUENCES, SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE A POLITICAL OPPONENT OF PRESIDENT PUTIN. >> AND RACHEL, WALK US THROUGH YOUR DAY. THE MOMENTS LEADING UP TO THAT TENSE EXCHANGE. ESPECIALLY, AS SOMEONE WHO, NOT ONLY WAS ON THE GROUND THAT DAY, COVERING THE INSURRECTION. BUT ALSO, THE BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTESTS. >> YEAH. AND I CAN TELL YOU I WAS ONE OF THE FEW AMERICAN JOURNALISTS THAT WAS ACTUALLY CREDENTIALED FOR THAT PUTIN-PRESS CONFERENCE. AND THE RUSSIAN PRESS CORPS SEEMED, BOTH, INTRIGUED AND FASCINATED BY THE AMERICAN PRESENCE. AFTER I WALKED OUT OF THAT PRESS CONFERENCE AND ASKED THOSE QUESTIONS TO PRESIDENT PUTIN, I WAS SWARMED BY A FEW REPORTERS. AND THEY WANTED TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT I WAS SATISFIED BY HIS ANSWER. AND THAT WAS NOT THE ONLY TIME, THROUGHOUT THE DAY, THEY WERE ASKING ME WHAT MY MESSAGE WAS TO PRESIDENT PUTIN. FILMING ME, AS I WAS RECORDING STAND-UPS AND THINGS FOR OUR SHOW AS WELL. AND I KNOW THIS WELL BECAUSE I HAVE GOTTEN IT MANY TIMES ESPECIALLY ON CAPITOL HILL AND MY ANSWER, ALWAYS, WAS NO COMMENT. >> ALWAYS, NO COMMENT. RACHEL. >> THANK YOU SO MUCH AND FANTASTIC WORK OUT THERE. >> THANKS. >> AND NOW, WE BRING IN ABC'S CHIEF GLOBAL AFFAIRS ANCHOR, MARTHA RADDATZ. MARTHA, WHAT DO YOU THINK, IF ANYTHING, DID PRESIDENT BIDEN ACCOMPLISH TODAY? >> WELL, I THINK HE SET THE STAGE FOR A FUTURE RELATIONSHIP WITH RUSSIA. HE LOWERED THE TEMPERATURE. IT, SEEMINGLY, LOWERED THE TEMPERATURE. WE HAD, BOTH, PRESIDENT BIDEN AND PRESIDENT PUTIN SAY IT WAS NOT, AT ALL, A HOSTILE MEETING. NO ONE WALKED OUT. IT DIDN'T GO OFF THE RAILS. SO, IN THAT SENSE, THERE'S SUCCESS IN FORMING THAT RELATIONSHIP. BUT AS PRESIDENT BIDEN HAS SAID, AGAIN AND AGAIN, IT IS NOT ABOUT TRUST. HE IS NOT CONFIDENT THAT VLADIMIR PUTIN WILL NOT CONTINUE HIS BAD BEHAVIOR. HE WANTS TO SEE SOME ACTION, OUT OF THIS. AND THAT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME. AND -- AND -- AND REALLY, MAYBE, NEVER, IF THIS REALLY FALLS APART, AGAIN. BUT -- BUT HE ACCOMPLISHED THAT FACE-TO-FACE GETTING TO KNOW SOMEONE. AS PRESIDENT. WE KNOW HE HAS MET PRESIDENT PUTIN, BEFORE, AS VICE PRESIDENT. BUT -- BUT GETTING TO KNOW SOMEONE. ESTABLISHING THOSE LIMITS TO THE RELATIONSHIP. BUT UNDERSTANDING THEY, BOTH, HAVE TO COOPERATE, IN SOME WAYS. THAT THEY -- THAT THEY CAN, SOMEHOW, TRY TO MANAGE THOSE DIFFERENCES THAT ARE SO OBVIOUS, IN THIS RELATIONSHIP. >> AND, MARTHA, WE KNOW HEADING INTO TODAY, THAT CRITICS SAID FOR PUTIN, EVEN JUST BEING SEEN IN -- IN THE PICTURES THAT ARE NOW BEING SEEN AND TRANSMITTED ALL OVER THE WORLD WITH PRESIDENT BIDEN. THAT THAT WAS, ALREADY, A SUCCESS FOR HIM. DO YOU THINK THAT THIS SUMMIT WAS A SUCCESS FOR PRESIDENT PUTIN? >> PRESIDENT PUTIN DID WHAT HE WANTED TO DO. HE NOT ONLY HAD A HANDSHAKE WITH PRESIDENT BIDEN, AND HE'S HAD MANY HANDSHAKES, IN THE PAST. HE HAD A WORLDWIDE PRESS CONFERENCE THAT PEOPLE CAME TO. I THINK, FOR HIS DOMESTIC AUDIENCE, FOR PEOPLE IN RUSSIA, FOR PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT HIM AND LIKE HIM. AND CERTAINLY, NOT EVERYBODY IN RUSSIA DOES. IT WAS -- IT WAS SUCCESSFUL, IN THAT SENSE. BECAUSE, INDEED, HE WAS ON THE WORLD STAGE. ALSO, OTHER WORLD LEADERS SAW HIM ON THE WORLD STAGE. WITH JOE BIDEN. BUT THIS IS, ALL, ABOUT HOW THIS ENDS UP. YOU KNOW, YOU -- WE, ALL, REMEMBER, OF COURSE, THAT DONALD TRUMP WANTED TO MEET WITH KIM JONG UN AND MET WITH KIM JONG UN TWICE. HE REALLY GOT ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE WITH HIM. THEY ESTABLISHED A RELATIONSHIP. THEY SEEMED TO LIKE EACH OTHER. PROBABLY, REALLY, MORE THAN YOU SHOULD WITH SOMEONE LIKE KIM JONG UN. BUT THEY WENT NOWHERE, WITH THOSE NUCLEAR NEGOTIATIONS. ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE. IN FACT, I WOULD SAY THEY WENT BACKWARDS BECAUSE KIM JONG UN CONTINUED TO TRY TO PERFECT HIS NUCLEAR PROGRAM. SO, THIS MAY FEEL GOOD, TODAY, FOR JOE BIDEN. FOR VLADIMIR PUTIN. BUT FOR JOE BIDEN, IT REALLY IS ALL ABOUT HOW VLADIMIR PUTIN RESPONDS, IN THE COMING MONTHS. >> AND WE HEARD FROM BOTH OF THEM, TODAY. FROM BOTH LEADERS. WHAT STOOD OUT, MOST, TO YOU ABOUT WHAT THEY SAID? BUT ALSO, MAYBE, WHAT THEY DIDN'T SAY AT THOSE PRESS CONFERENCES? >> WELL, WHAT -- WHAT VLADIMIR PUTIN DIDN'T SAY WAS THAT HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THAT -- THOSE CYBERATTACKS. OR ANY OF THE HACKING IN THE U.S. GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS. OR EVEN THAT RUSSIANS -- THAT HE MIGHT HAVE SOME CONTROL OVER THE RUSSIANS WHO -- WHO DID THE RANSOMWARE ATTACKS ON THE COLONIAL PIPELINE. AND -- AND OUR MEAT SUPPLY, AS WELL. SO, HE DIDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE ANYTHING. SO, IN MANY WAYS, VLADIMIR PUTIN REALLY SAID NOTHING. I MEAN, HE BASICALLY SAID HE HAD A FACE TO FACE WITH PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN AND THAT, YOU KNOW, HE SAID NICE THINGS ABOUT JOE BIDEN. FOR JOE BIDEN, WHAT HE DIDN'T SAY, I -- I -- I THINK ONE OF THE THINGS THAT -- THAT KIND OF STOOD OUT WITH JOE BIDEN IS THAT, CLEARLY, HE DOESN'T LIKE THE IDEA THAT PEOPLE ARE LOOKING AT HIM AND SAYING, OH, HE TRUSTS VLADIMIR PUTIN TOO MUCH. I THINK THAT'S WHY HE GOT ANGRY AT THE END OF HIS PRESS CONFERENCE. BECAUSE HE JUST DOESN'T LIKE THAT IDEA. AND VLADIMIR PUTIN, I, FRANKLY, THOUGHT HE GOT MOST RATTLED BY OUR RACHEL SCOTT'S QUESTION. THAT JUST REALLY PUT IT TO HIM ABOUT HUMAN-RIGHTS ABUSES. AND HE MAY HAVE, SORT OF, TRIED TO BRUSH THAT OFF. AND HE, YOU KNOW, HE'S VERY CONFIDENT, UNFLAPPABLE. BUT -- BUT -- BUT THAT MOMENT SEEMED A LITTLE DIFFERENT, TO ME, WITH HIM. BUT YET, THOSE -- THOSE PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES. YOU KNOW, WHERE HE'S VERY RELAXED. AND -- AND HANDLING THE PRESS, YOU KNOW, JUST AS IF HE DOES THAT EVERY DAY. WHICH HE DOESN'T. >> AND, MARTHA, THAT IS A GOOD POINT. YOU KNOW, HE HAD THE MOMENTS SHAKING HANDS. BUT CERTAINLY, WAS A MOMENT TO BE SEEN WHEN OUR RACHEL SCOTT PUT HIM ON THE SPOT THE WAY THAT SHE FANTASTICALLY DID. MARTHA, SANTHANK YOU SO MUCH AN ALWAYS APPRECIATE YOUR INSIGHTS. >> YOU BET, GREAT TO TALK TO YOU. . >> AND FOR MORE REACTION TO TODAY'S SUMMIT, I AM JOINED NOW BY DEMOCRATIC SENATOR, JEAN SHAHEEN, THANK YOU SO MUCH SENATOR FOR JOINING US. YOU RELEASED A STATEMENT AFTER THE SUMMIT. PRAISING PRESIDENT BIDEN FOR SENDING, QUOTE, A STRONG MESSAGE THAT HIS ADMINISTRATION WILL NOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO PUTIN'S BELLIGERENCE. BUT DO YOU THINK ANYTHING SUBSTANTIAL CAME OUT OF THEIR MEETING TODAY? THAT CHANGES THE U.S.-RUSSIA DYNAMIC, IN ANY, MEANINGFUL WAY? >> WELL, I THINK, ANYBODY WHO THOUGHT THAT WE WERE GOING TO SEE A MAJOR CHANGE IN THE DYNAMIC WAS NOT VERY REALISTIC ABOUT WHAT THE EXPECTATIONS SHOULD HAVE BEEN, GOING IN. THIS WAS A FIRST-TIME FACE-TO-FACE MEETING. I THINK IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE PRESIDENT DO THIS MEETING. AND HE CAME INTO THIS SUMMIT WITH STRONG SUPPORT FROM OUR NATO ALLIES, FROM THE EU COMMUNITY, FROM BRITAIN. AND PUTIN CAME IN, WITH JUST RUSSIA AND THE -- THE POSSIBILITY OF, MAYBE, RUSSIA WORKING WITH CHINA, AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE. SO, I THINK THE PRESIDENT CAME IN, FROM A POSITION OF STRENGTH. I THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT TO HAVE THIS ONE-ON-ONE MEETING. FOR HIM TO LET VLADIMIR PUTIN KNOW WHAT WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT IN THE UNITED STATES. AND THE AGGRESSIVE TENDENCIES OF RUSSIA. AND I DO THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR US TO AGREE THAT WE'RE GOING TO PUT OUR AMBASSADORS AND EMBASSY PERSONNEL, BACK, IN BOTH THE UNITED STATES AND RUSSIA. THAT IT'S IMPORTANT. WE CAN'T BEGIN TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION AND WORKING, UNLESS WE HAVE THOSE DIPLOMATS IN PLACE. >> YOU MENTION THE CONCERNS THAT THE U.S. HAS. AND ONE OF THE MAJOR THREATS, COMING FROM RUSSIA, HAS, OF COURSE, BEEN THE CYBER AND RANSOMWARE ATTACKS. PRESIDENT BIDEN HINTED AT THE RETALIATORY CAPABILITY THAT THE U.S. HAS. BUT GIVEN THE NUMBER OF ATTACKS THAT ARE HAPPENING AND SO OFTEN, DO YOU THINK THAT THE PRESIDENT SHOULD HAVE LAID OUT MORE SPECIFICS ABOUT POSSIBLE-U.S. RETALIATION TO GET RUSSIA TO STOP THESE ATTACKS COMING FROM WITHIN THEIR BORDERS IMMEDIATELY? >> WELL, I THINK, IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR THE PRESIDENT TO LET VLADIMIR PUTIN KNOW THAT WE HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO INFLICT SERIOUS HARM INTO RUSSIAN INFRASTRUCTURE. AND WE SAW, IN 2016, RUSSIA'S MEDDLING IN OUR ELECTIONS. IN 2018, THEY TRIED TO DO THE SAME THING. AND WE SHUT DOWN THEIR BOTS, IMMEDIATELY. AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING. SO I THINK WE -- RUSSIA SHOULDN'T BE CLEAR ON OUR CAPABILITIES. AND IF THEY CONTINUE TO INTERFERE, THEN WE, CLEARLY, NEED TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE IN OUR RESPONSE. >> AND WHEN YOU SAY BE MORE AGGRESSIVE IN OUR RESPONSE, IF THEY CONTINUE WITH CYBERATTACKS, DO YOU THINK THAT MILITARY OPTIONS SHOULD BE ON THE TABLE? DOES THIS CHANGE THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT? >> WELL, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE NEED TO DISCUSS, IN A NUMBER OF VENUES. BUT CERTAINLY, WHAT SHOULD BE ON THE TABLE IS A CYBERRESPONSE. AND I DO THINK WE HAVE THOSE CAPABILITIES. >> AND THE PRESIDENT ALSO RAISED THE ISSUE OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND IMPRISONMENT OF OPPOSITION LEADER, ALEXEI NAVALNY. HE IMPLIED THAT PUTIN WILL MODERATE HIS ACTIONS, TO AVOID HURTING HIS GLOBAL STANDING. BUT YOUR FELLOW SENATOR, LINDSEY GRAHAM, CRITICIZED THAT ON TWITTER. SAYING THAT PUTIN COULD CARE LESS ABOUT HOW THE WORLD VIEWS HIS EFFORTS TO SILENT DISSIDENTS AT HOME AND ABROAD. AGAIN, QUITE FRANKLY, I THINK HE ENJOYS THE REPUTATION OF BEING SOMEONE YOU DON'T WANT TO CROSS. THAT'S WHAT SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM SAID. SO, IS PRESIDENT BIDEN MISCALCULATING ON WHAT WILL CHANGE PUTIN'S BEHAVIOR ON SUPPRESSING HIS POLITICAL OPPOSITION? >> WELL, THE PRESIDENT, ALSO, RAISED THE TWO AMERICANS WHO ARE BEING HELD, UNJUSTLY, IN RUSSIAN JAILS. FORMER-MILITARY AND WE NEED TO SPEAK OUT, VERY LOUD, ABOUT THAT. AND ABOUT RUSSIA'S OTHER HUMAN-RIGHTS VIOLATIONS. AND I DON'T EXPECT A ONE-TIME ENCOUNTER TO MAKE A CHANGE IN RUSSIA'S BEHAVIOR. BUT I DO EXPECT A CONTINUED PRESSURE, FROM THE UNITED STATES AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY. AND ALL OF THE INTERNATIONAL FORUMS THAT ARE AVAILABLE. AND WE HAVE TO RECOGNIZE THAT DIPLOMACY IS NOT A -- A ONE-TIME-ONLY EVENT. TO BE EFFECTIVE IN OUR DIPLOMACY, WE'VE GOT TO BE CONSISTENT WITH OUR MESSAGE. WE'VE GOT TO BE PERSISTENT. AND WE DON'T GIVE UP AND THE UNITED STATES IS BACK ON THE WORLD STAGE. TAKING ITS PROPER ROLE IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY. AND ONE OF THE THINGS WE WILL CONTINUE TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT IS THE VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, WHETHER THAT'S IN BELARUS OR RUSSIA OR ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. AND IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US TO DO THAT. AND TO ENGAGE AND MOTIVATE THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO DO THE SAME. >> AND PRESIDENT BIDEN, ALSO, SAID THAT IT WOULD TAKE SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR, TO SEE IF THE U.S. AND RUSSIA, QUOTE, HAVE A STRATEGIC DIALOGUE THAT MATTERS. SHOULD PUTIN BE GIVEN THAT AMOUNT OF TIME TO SHOW WHETHER HE WILL CHANGE HIS APPROACH TOWARD THE U.S.? AND WHAT YOU HAVE CALLED HIS MALIGNED BEHAVIOR ON THE WORLD STAGE? SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR? DO YOU THINK THAT HE SHOULD BE GIVEN THAT MUCH TIME? >> I -- I DON'T THINK VLADIMIR PUTIN IS GOING TO CHANGE HIS BEHAVIOR, AT ALL. I THINK, WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS TO -- WHAT HE RESPONDS TO IS POWER. IT'S A STRONG RESPONSE FROM THE UNITED STATES, WHEN HE STEPS OUT OF BOUNDS. AND WE HAVE GOT TO SHOW HIM, OVER THE NEXT SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR TO THREE YEARS, TO HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES, THAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO ACCEPT THE BEHAVIOR THAT WE'VE SEEN OUT OF RUSSIA, IN THE LAST-FIVE YEARS. >> AND LASTLY, I DO WANT TO ASK YOU ABOUT THE ONGOING TALKS ON INFRASTRUCTURE. YOU ARE PART OF A GROUP OF BIPARTISAN-SENATE MODERATES THAT HAVE AGREED ON THE FRAMEWORK OF A DEAL. WITH THAT GROUP, NOW, EXPANDING TO 20 SENATORS, TOTAL. BUT DO YOU SEE THE WHITE HOUSE SIGNING ON TO THIS APPROACH? AND CAN YOU REALLY KEEP ONBOARD MORE PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS, TO SUPPORT THIS MORE MODEST INFRASTRUCTURE PACKAGE? >> WELL, WE'RE STILL TALKING TO THE WHITE HOUSE. ABOUT SOME ISSUES THAT -- THAT THEY HAVE TRYING TO GET MORE INFORMATION FROM THE WHITE HOUSE ABOUT SOME OF THEIR CONCERNS. AND I THINK WE CAN CONTINUE TO EXPAND THE SUPPORT FOR THIS PACKAGE. AND I DON'T SEE IT AS THE ONE-AND-ONLY PACKAGE TO ADDRESS INFRASTRUCTURE. IT'S THE TRADITIONAL DEFINITION OF INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WE THINK OF. BUT I, ALSO, BELIEVE THERE IS A LOT OF SUPPORT FOR WHAT PRESIDENT BIDEN HAS CALLED HIS FAMILIES PLAN. THAT RECOGNIZES THAT INVESTING IN PEOPLE IS AS IMPORTANT AS INVESTING IN ROADS AND BRIDGES AND BUILDINGS. AND THAT WE NEED TO DO BOTH. >> SENATOR GENE SHAHEEN OF NEW HAMPSHIRE. SENATOR, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US TONIGHT. WE APPRECIATE IT. >> THANK YOU. >>> IT'S BEING CALLED COVID-19 ON STEROIDS. THE NEW-DELTA VARIANT HAS EXPERTS ON EDGE FOR THOSE WHO AREN'T, YET, VACCINATED. AS OF RIGHT NOW, OUR ABC NEWS REPORTING SHOWING A TOTAL OF 36 STATES WITH CONFIRMED CASES OF THE VARIANT. ABC'S WHIT JOHNSON HAS THE LATEST FOR US. >> Reporter: TONIGHT, THE DELTA VARIANT. THREATENING TO DERAIL PROGRESS AGAINST THE PANDEMIC. THE HIGHLY-CONTAGIOUS STRAIN NOW IDENTIFIED IN AT LEAST 37 STATES. >> IF YOU ARE LIVING IN A PART OF THE COUNTRY, WHERE THERE IS LOW DEGREE OF VACCINATION. OR IF YOU, YOURSELF, ARE NOT VACCINATED, YOU'RE, CLEARLY, VULNERABLE. BECAUSE THIS IS, BASICALLY, COVID-19 ON STEROIDS. >> Reporter: OFFICIALS, THE DELTA VARIANT IS MORE TRANSMISSIBLE AND MAY CAUSE MORE SEVERE DISEASE. SOME STATES WITH LOWER-VACCINATION RATES SEEING A NEARLY-20% INCREASE IN COVID CASES OVER THE LAST TWO WEEKS. IN TENNESSEE, WHERE JUST A THIRD OF THE STATE IS FULLY VACCINATED, THE DELTA VARIANT IS, ALREADY, TAKING HOLD. AT LEAST TEN CASES, IN THE MEMPHIS AREA. >> WE HAVE MADE TREMENDOUS PROGRESS. AND WE DON'T WANT TO LOSE WHAT WE HAVE GAINED. >> Reporter: THE DELTA VARIANT, FIRST IDENTIFIED IN INDIA, NOW MAKING UP ABOUT 90% OF CASES IN THE UK. SOME EXPERTS WARN, IT COULD BECOME THE DOMINANT STRAIN HERE, IN THE U.S. >> IT IS FAR-MORE CONTAGIOUS THAN ANY VARIANT WE HAVE SEEN THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE PANDEMIC. >> Reporter: BUT VACCINES APPEAR TO BE EFFECTIVE AGAINST IT AND REPORTS SUGGEST SOME SYMPTOMS OF THE DELTA VARIANT MAY BE MORE PREVALENT. >> HEADACHES AND SORE THROAT ARE THE KIND OF KEY FEATURES OF THIS VARIANT. WHETHER THAT WILL HOLD UP IN LARGER DATA, WE DON'T KNOW. BUT IT IS SOMETHING DEFINITELY TO KEEP AN EYE ON. >> AND THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION HAS NOW IDENTIFIED THE DELTA VARIANT IN MORE THAN 80 COUNTRIES. OFFICIALS ARE, ALSO, NOW TRACKING SO-CALLED DELTA PLUS VARIANTS, WHICH HAVE ADDITIONAL MUTATIONS. SOMETHING THEY ARE WATCHING, VERY CLOSELY. >> WELL, NOW TO THE HEAT WAVE SPREADING. TRIPLE-DIGIT TEMPERATURES, ACROSS NEARLY A DOZEN STATES, TONIGHT. AND THE HEAT MAY BE HERE, FOR A LONG TIME. TO COME. WHILE IN THE GULF, THERE IS POSSIBLE DANGER LURKING OFFSHORE. A TROPIC SYSTEM WITH A HIGH CHANCE OF DEVELOPING. OUR ROB MARCIANO IS TRACKING IT, ALL, THIS EVENING. ROB, HEY, HOW ARE YA? >> I AM DOING ALL RIGHT. I'M LITTLE COOLER THAN THE FOLKS IN THE WEST. AS YOU MENTIONED THAT HEAT WAVE. JUST UNRELENTING. AND MORE RECORDS ARE GOING TO FALL. WE ARE NOT REALLY SEEING MUCH IN THE WAY OF COOLING OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AS YOU ALLUDED TO. BUT TUCSON, FOR INSTANCE, THEY ARE GOING TO HIT THEIR SIXTH DAY IN A ROW OF 110 PLUS. AND WE HAVE GOT EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNINGS THAT REMAIN ACROSS SEVERAL STATES FOR TOMORROW. VEGAS EXPECTED TO HIT 114. AND 107 IN SOME OTHER SPOTS. TAKE A LOOK AT THE THREE-DAY FORECAST. COOLING? YEAH, I GUESS YOU WOULD SAY THAT SACRAMENTO, 108 TO 103. LOOKS LIKE FRIDAY OR SATURDAY. BUT IT'S NOT LIKE A DRASTIC COOLDOWN. IT IS GOING TO BE A SLOW SHIFTING OF THE -- THE MAIN HEAT, I'D SAY. IN THE TROPICS, THIS SYSTEM IS LIKELY TO DEVELOP. 90% CHANCE OF BECOMING AT LEAST A TROPICAL DEPRESSION, IF NOT A TROPICAL STORM. IF IT BECOMES A STORM, IT WILL BE NAMED CLAUDETTE. THIS IS A VERY FAVORITE SPOT FOR JUNE, FOR DEVELOPMENT. SO LITTLE BIT WORRISOME, ALTHOUGH OUR MODELS AREN'T DOING A WHOLE LOT WITH IT. REGARDLESS OF WHAT DEVELOPS, TOO, IT WILL BRING A TON OF RAIN TO THE GULF COAST. ESPECIALLY, EAST OF NEW ORLEANS, GULF PORT, MOBILE, UP THROUGH BIRMINGHAM. THIS IS AN AREA REALLY SATURATED FROM ALL THE RAIN THEY HAVE HAD THE PAST MONTH AND TO GET ANOTHER 6-TO-12 INCHES OF RAINFALL IN THIS SPOT WILL, NO DOUBT, LEAD TO FLOODING. SO WE WILL BE WATCHING POTENTIAL OF CLAUDETTE HERE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS. >> ROB, REALLY INCREDIBLE. NEARING 120 DEGREES. HOPING FOR A SIGNIFICANT COOLDOWN OUT THERE, SOON. ROB, THANK YOU SO MUCH. >> YOU BET. >>> WHEN WE COME BACK. THEY'RE BACK. THE MURDER HORNETS THAT TOOK THE WEST COAST BY STORM LAST YEAR SHOW UP, AGAIN. FISH AND BEEF PRICES ROSE MORE THAN 2%. SO THE PRICE OF BACON, FOR EXAMPLE, HAVE YOU HAD TO CHANGE THE NUMBER THERE? >> YEAH. >> IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. >> YEAH. THAT'S DEFINITELY GONE UP. >> Reporter: IT'S NOT JUST FOOD COSTS GOING UP. THE CPI DATA SHOWS OVERALL PRICES ROSE 5%, IN MAY, FROM A YEAR EARLIER. THE FASTEST PACE SINCE AUGUST, 2008. SO, OVER 100% INCREASE IN 12 MONTHS, WHICH IS, YOU KNOW, REALLY UNCONSCIONABLE. >> Reporter: WITH AMERICAN BUSINESSES AND CONSUMERS, NOW, PAYING MORE MONEY FOR GOODS AND SERVICES. A DEBATE IS RAGING, AMONG ECONOMISTS AND POLICYMAKERS. ABOUT, IF HIGHER INFLATION IS HERE TO STAY. >> WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT A COUPLE OF QUARTERS OF INFLATION. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT POLICIES THAT COULD EXTEND INTO NEXT YEAR AND YEARS BEYOND. >> Reporter: REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS SAY TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN ECONOMIC STIMULUS IS SUPERCHARGING CONSUMER SPENDING. LEADING TO HIGHER PRICES. IT'S A CONCERN ECHOED BY FORMER-TREASURY SECRETARY, UNDER PRESIDENT CLINTON, LARRY SOMMERS. WHO SAYS THE PRIMARY RISK TO THE U.S. ECONOMY IS OVERHEATING AND INFLATION. BUT THE CURRENT-TREASURY SECRETARY, JANET YELLEN, ALONG WITH FEDERAL RESERVE CHAIRMAN, JAY POWELL, INSIST THE CURRENT RUNUP IN PRICES IS ONLY TEMPORARY. >> IF YOU LOOK BEHIND THE HEADLINE NUMBERS, YOU WILL SEE THAT THE INCOMING DATA ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE VIEW THAT PRICES -- THE PRICES THAT ARE DRIVING THAT HIGHER INFLATION ARE FROM CATEGORIES THAT ARE BEING DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE RECOVERY FROM THE PANDEMIC AND THE REOPENING OF THE ECONOMY. >> Reporter: POWELL SAYS IT'S NOT SURPRISING TO SEE PRICE HIKES IN INDUSTRIES LIKE AIRLINES OR HOTELS. THAT CAME TO A STANDSTILL WHEN THE PANDEMIC HIT. AND ARE NOW BOUNCING BACK, AS VACCINATIONS AND TRAVEL RAMP UP. >> WE, YOU KNOW, KIND OF WENT INTO PANIC MODE. >> Reporter: DAPHNE AND HER HUSBAND ARE MOVING FROM PEORIA, ILLINOIS. >> WE GOT THE FLIGHTS, NO ISSUE. BUT LATER IN THE EVENING, WHEN WE WENT TO BOOK A RENTAL CAR, THEY WERE ALL GONE. EVERYTHING WAS SOLD OUT. SO, WE ENDED UP HAVING TO CANCEL THE TRIP. >> Reporter: SHE SAYS MOVING COSTS ARE, ALSO, RISING. >> I LOOKED AT AN ESTIMATE FOR U-HAUL U-BOX. AND I THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE ABOUT 15 OR $1,600. THAT'S ABOUT MAYBE $400 MORE THAN WHAT I HAD PAID IN THE PAST. >> FROM FREIGHT TO RENTAL CARS TO FURNITURE, MANY INDUSTRIES HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH PENT-UP DEMAND. AND THE BOOM IN SPENDING, FUELED, AT LEAST IN PART, BY THOSE STIMULUS CHECKS. >> PEOPLE GOT A LOT OF MONEY, ALL AT ONE TIME. AND THE ECONOMY WASN'T READY TO MAKE EVERYTHING THAT PEOPLE WANTED. AND SO, YOU HAVE SEEN PRICES GO UP. >> Reporter: BACKLOGS IN SUPPLY CHAINS DURING THE PANDEMIC ARE ANOTHER FACTOR BEHIND HIGHER PRICES. A GLOBAL SHORTAGE OF COMPUTER CHIPS HAS SLOWED DOWN THE PRODUCTION OF NEW CARS. LEADING USED CAR AND TRUCK PRICES TO SPIKE NEARLY-30% IN THE PAST YEAR. >> THESE PRICES HAVE GONE UP, ASTRONOMICALLY, CAN THIS CONTINUE IN AN AREA LIKE USED CARS? >> NO. I THINK THE PLACES WHERE THE PRICES HAVE GONE UP, THE MOST. THEY ARE PROBABLY, ACTUALLY, GOING TO COME BACK DOWN. >> Reporter: MANY ECONOMISTS EXPECT PRICES HAD DROP, AFTER THIS YEAR. AS ECONOMIC STIMULUS STARTS TO WEAR OFF. THE ECONOMY FULLY REOPENS. AND SUPPLY CHAINS READJUST. >> WE'VE SEEN, REALLY, THE PEOPLE PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL. I MEAN, REALLY GAS IT UP OVER THE LAST-12 MONTHS. >> Reporter: OMAR SAYS AFTER A SURGE IN DEMAND FOR CONSTRUCTION AND BUILDING MATERIALS, OVER THE PAST YEAR, HE'S STARTING TO SEE SOME PRICES DROP. >> HOPEFULLY, BY THE END OF THE SUMMER, WE WILL BE BACK IN A NORMAL PLACE. THERE'S JUST NO WAY A, YOU KNOW, LUMBER OR, YOU KNOW, A PIECE -- PIECE OF PLYWOOD CAN CONTINUE TO INCREASE. YOU KNOW, IT'S ONE PIECE OF PLYWOOD. MY GOD. YOU KNOW, PROJECTS, ULTIMATELY, WILL HAVE TO STOP. >> Reporter: BUT THERE ARE SIGNS HIGHER INFLATION MIGHT NOT BE TEMPORARY. ONE IS THAT WAGES ARE GOING UP. >> ONCE YOU HAVE HIGHER WAGES, YES, THAT OFTEN GETS PASSED ON TO HIGHER PRICES. >> Reporter: CHIPOTLE, FOR EXAMPLE, RAISED MENU PRICES AFTER IT ANNOUNCED WAGE HIKES. AND IF BUSINESSES OR WORKERS START TO EXPECT HIGHER PRICES, IN THE FUTURE, IT CAN ACTUALLY CREATE MORE INFLATION. >> THINK PRICES ARE GOING TO RISE A LOT. YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY RAISE PRICES. YOU MIGHT ASK FOR A LARGER RAISE, IF YOU THINK THEY'RE NOT GOING TO, YOU WON'T DO THAT. AND SO, THERE IS A CERTAIN SELF-FULFILLING PROPHECY THAT COMES OUT OF INFLATION. EXPECTATIONS. >> Reporter: PHILLIP SAYS CONSUMERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO PAY HIGHER PRICES IF IT MEANS RAISING WORKERS' WAGES. >> ALL ALONG THE SUPPLY CHAIN. I MEAN, YOU SEE AGRICULTURAL WORKERS, WAREHOUSE WORKERS, DELIVERY DRIVERS, RETAIL WORKERS. ALL, WERE UNDERPAID BEFORE THE PANDEMIC. WE'RE ABLE, IN THIS MOMENT, TO SAY, HEY, WE'RE VALUABLE. WE ARE SAESSENTIAL. >> SO HOW LONG DO YOU THINK HIGH GROCERY PRICES ARE GOING TO LAST? >> I THINK ONCE THE PRICES ARE ELEVATED AND -- AND REALLY MORE OF A TRUE COST ACCOUNTING OF THE FOOD THAT WE ARE EATING. THOSE PRICES ARE VERY UNLIKELY TO GO BACK DOWN SO I THINK THEY ARE HERE TO STAY. >> Reporter: ELIZABETH SCHULZE, ABC NEWS, WASHINGTON. >>> OUR THANKS TO ELIZABETH FOR THAT. AND AS SHE SAID, THE GOVERNMENT CONSUMER PRICE INDEX DATA SHOWS OVERALL PRICES ROSE BY 5% SINCE THIS TIME, LAST YEAR. RESULTING IN THE HIGHEST INFLATION RATE IN 13 YEARS. SO LET'S BRING IN CONSUMER REPORT TO DEALS EDITOR, SAMANTHA GORDON. HERE TO DISCUSS DIFFERENT WAYS TO SAVE ON COSTS. SAMANTHA, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US TONIGHT. WE ARE SEEING FOOD PRICES ACROSS THE COUNTRY CONTINUE TO BALLOON. SO, TELL US, WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO GET THE MOST BANG OUT OF YOUR BUCK? >> IF YOU ARE SHOPPING FOR FOOD, THERE IS GOING TO BE PRICE SURGES AROUND POULTRY, MEAT, AND EVEN FRESH FRUIT. SO, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BE PAYING A LITTLE BIT CLOSER ATTENTION TO YOUR BUDGET WHERE, MAYBE, YOU WEREN'T BEFORE. IT'S TIME TO START CLIPPING THOSE COUPONS. LOOKING FOR SAVINGS AT DIFFERENT STORES. SHOPPING THOSE DISCOUNT STORES LIKE BJs AND COSTCO. LOOKING FOR WAYS TO BUDGET YOUR -- YOUR SPENDING. AND SHOPPING SMARTER. SO IF YOU CAN BUY IN BULK, DO THAT. A LOT OF PEOPLE, WE SAW, OVER THE PANDEMIC, INVESTED IN STANDALONE FREEZERS SO THEY COULD STOCK UP ON MEAT AND POULTRY. THAT COULD BE ANOTHER, GOOD THING TO DO RIGHT NOW, AS WELL. >> SHOPPING IN BULK. THAT IS A GOOD IDEA. DO WHAT YOU CAN TO SAVE. AND IT IS SUMMER TIME. MORE AND MORE AMERICANS ARE GETTING VACCINATED, AFTER SPENDING SO MUCH TIME INDOORS. MANY OF THEM, MYSELF INCLUDED, ARE READY TO HIT THE ROAD. BUT HOWEVER, GAS PRICES. WE HAVE SEEN THEM SOARING AND PANDEMIC-RELATED SHUTDOWNS HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO CAR-PRODUCTION SHORTAGES. WE KNOW THAT'S AN ISSUE, TOO. SO WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BEST TACTICS FOR NOT ONLY GETTING A CAR? BUT BEING ABLE TO AFFORDABLY DRIVE IT? >> WELL, NEW CARS RIGHT NOW ARE IN HIGH DEMAND. THE CHIP SHORTAGE HAS MADE IT HARDER FOR MANUFACTURERS TO KEEP UP WITH -- WITH SUPPLY. AND SO, WE ARE -- WE ARE SEEING THAT THE PRICES AREN'T AS GOOD. THE DISCOUNTS THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO GET. THOSE NEGOTIATIONS THAT YOU GET AT THE DEALERSHIP. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET AS HIGH OF A DISCOUNT. BUT THAT REALLY DEPENDS ON WHICH MODEL YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY. OVER AT CONSUMERREPORTS.ORG, WE HAVE A TON OF INFORMATION ON BUYING A NEW CAR AND GETTING THOSE SAVINGS. BUT AT MOST, YOU ARE PROBABLY LOOKING TO SAVE, MAYBE, 10%. DEPENDING ON THE MODEL. SOME MODELS, YOU ARE GOING TO BE PAYING STICKER PRICE. AND THIS HAS ALSO INCREASED THE DEMAND FOR USED CARS. PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO PAY AS MUCH FOR A NEW CAR. THEY TURN TO USED CARS SO THAT IS IN DEMAND AS WELL SO THOSE PRICES ARE ALSO HIGH. SO LITTLE TRICKY TO GET A CAR RIGHT NOW. >> IT CERTAINLY IS. AND SPEAKING OF SHOFRT SHORTAGES, THE PANDEMIC ALSO AFFECTED SUPPLY CHAIN FOR APPLIANCES CAUSING A SPIKE IN COSTS THERE. WHAT ARE SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU ARE SHOPPING FOR THAT NEW REFRIGERATOR OR WASHING MACHINE? >> HERE IS THE THING WITH BUYING A LARGE APPLIANCE RIGHT NOW. IF YOU DON'T NEED TO REPLACE SOMETHING, DON'T DO IT. WAIT. WE ARE EXPECTING INVENTORY LEVELS, AND SURPRISING TO RETURN B PRICING TO RETURN BACK TO NORMAL BY THE END OF THIS YEAR. BUT NOT EVERYBODY CAN WAIT TO BUY. IF YOU HAVE GOT A BROKEN DISHWASHER OR WASHING MACHINE, YOU NEED TO REPLACE THAT. SO THERE ARE WAYS THAT YOU CAN SAVE MONEY. THERE ARE SOME SALES. WE ARE SEEING SOME SALES, NOW. AROUND THE EARLY-PRIME-DAY DEALS, ESPECIALLY AROUND BEST BUY. BUT THOSE SALES ARE NOT AS GOOD AS WE'VE SEEN IN YEARS PAST. SO YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER WHAT YOU REALLY WANT, VERSUS WHAT YOU NEED. IN AN APPLIANCE. DO YOU REALLY NEED THE FANCY, WI-FI CONNECTION ON YOUR WASHER AND DRIER? MAYBE NOT. BUT DO YOU REALLY NEED SOMETHING THAT WORKS WITH YOUR SPACE? YES. SO, CONSIDER THOSE OPTIONS WHEN YOU'RE SHOPPING. LOOK FOR WAYS TO CUT CORNERS. GET THE STANDARD-STAINLESS STEEL, INSTEAD OF THE MATTE-BLACK FINISH ON YOUR APPLIANCE. LITTLE THINGS LIKE THAT CAN HELP SAVE MONEY IF YOU NEED TO BUY. BUT AGAIN, IF YOU DON'T, HOLD OFF. >> I DIDN'T KNOW WASHING MACHINES HAD WI-FI. I NEED A WASHING MACHINE THAT WASHES THE LAUNDRY, ITSELF. BUT SAMANTHA, FINALLY, IF FOLKS DO HOLD OFF ON PURCHASING SOME OF THOSE ITEMS AS YOU MENTIONED THERE. NOW, AS PRICES ARE HIGH, LOOKING AHEAD, WHAT ARE SOME OF THE DEALS THAT WE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO LATER ON IN THE YEAR? >> WELL, RIGHT NOW, IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO SHOP AND SAVE MONEY. AMAZON-PRIME DAY IS JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY. BEST BUY'S SALE KICKED OFF ON MONDAY. TARGET AND WALMART ARE HAVING COMPETING SALES THAT START ON FATHER'S DAY, THIS SUNDAY. AND WE ARE, ALSO, RIGHT AFTER THAT, LEADING RIGHT INTO JULY 4th. WE SEE A LOT OF DEALS AROUND THAT. THAT'S A GOOD ONE FOR MAT TRESSES. YOU MIGHT SEE LARGE-APPLIANCE SALES. NOT GREAT BUT BETTER. AND THEN, LABOR DAY. AND THEN, LAST YEAR, WE SAW HOLIDAY SALES REALLY KICK OFF IN OCTOBER. WE ARE KIND OF EXPECTING THE SAME THING THERE. AND THEN, ALL THROUGHOUT NOVEMBER, DECEMBER. SO, YOU HAVE GOT PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITIES TO SAVE. SO, MY BEST ADVICE THAT I ALWAYS GIVE EVERYONE. NEVER PAY FULL PRICE FOR ANYTHING, UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO. >> AH, I AM TAKING NOTES ON THAT. NEVER PAY FULL PRICE ON ANYTHING, UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. SAMANTHA GORDON, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING WITH US TONIGHT AND FOR YOUR INSIGHTS. >> THANKS SO MUCH. >>> AND STILL AHEAD HERE, ON PRIME. BOTH, CALLING THEIR SUMMIT PRODUCTIVE. >> I DID WHAT I CAME TO DO. AND I MUST TELL YOU, THE TONE OF THE ENTIRE MEETING. I GUESS, IT WAS TOTAL OF FOUR HOURS. WAS -- WAS -- WAS -- WAS GOOD, POSITIVE. WHERE WE DISAGREED, I DISAGREE. STATED WHERE IT WAS. WHERE HE DISAGREED, HE STATED. BUT IT WAS NOT DONE IN A HYPERBOLIC ATMOSPHERE. THAT IS TOO MUCH OF WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON. >> Reporter: PRESIDENT BIDEN SAYS HE WARNED PUTIN NOT TO MEDDLE IN FUTURE-AMERICAN ELECTIONS. >> BOTTOM LINE IS I TOLD PRESIDENT PUTIN THAT WE NEED TO HAVE SOME BASIC RULES OF THE ROAD THAT WE CAN, ALL, ABIDE BY. >> Reporter: HE ALSO RAISED HUMAN RIGHTS. RUSSIA'SOSITIOISONING AND IMPRISONMENT OF OPPOSITION LEADER, ALEXEI NAVALNY. >> I MADE IT CLEAR TO PRESIDENT PUTIN THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO RAISE ISSUES OF FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT WE ARE. THAT'S WHO WE ARE. >> Reporter: AND HE CONFRONTED PUTIN ABOUT THE ISSUE ON THE MINDS OF SO MANY. THE RECENT CYBERATTACKS ON AMERICAN INFRASTRUCTURE BY CRIMINALS BASED IN RUSSIA. ONE HIT THE U.S.-MEAT SUPPLY. THE OTHER, CAUSING GAS SHORTAGES AND PRICE SPIKES ON THE EAST COAST. >> I POINTED OUT TO HIM, WE HAVE SIGNIFICANT-CYBER CAPABILITY. AND HE KNOWS IT. HE DOESN'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS BUT IT'S SIGNIFICANT. AND IF, IN FACT, THEY VIOLATE THESE BASIC NORMS, WE WILL RESPOND. I THINK THAT THE LAST THING HE WANTS, NOW, IS A COLD WAR. >> Reporter: THE PRESIDENT INSISTS HE DID NOT ISSUE THREATS. BUT HE DID ASK THE RUSSIANS THIS QUESTION. >> WHAT HAPPENS IF THAT RANSOMWARE OUTFIT WERE SITTING IN FLORIDA OR MAINE? AND TOOK ACTION, AS I SAID, ON THEIR -- THEIR -- THEIR SINGLE LIFELINE TO THEIR ECONOMY. OIL. IT'D BE DEVASTATING. AND THEY'RE LIKE -- YOU CAN SEE THEM KIND OF GO -- NOT WE'D DO THAT BUT LIKE, WHOA. >> PRESIDENT BIDEN SAYS HE GAVE PUTIN A LIST OF 16 AREAS OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE THAT SHOULD BE OFF LIMITS TO ATTACK. FROM THE ENERGY SECTOR, TO THE WATER SUPPLY. HE IS VERY BALANCED. >> Reporter: PUTIN CALLING THEIR CONVERSATION, VERY OPEN AND FRANK. >> WE SPOKE THE SAME LANGUAGE. AND THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE NECESSARILY HAVE TO LOOK INTO OUR EYES, LOOK INTO OUR SOULS. WE -- WE NEED TO HAVE ETERNAL FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE. >> Reporter: PRESIDENT BIDEN SAYS HE IS TAKING A WAIT-AND-SEE APPROACH. >> WE'LL FIND OUT, WITHIN THE NEXT-SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR, WHETHER OR NOT WE ACTUALLY HAVE A STRATEGIC DIALOGUE THAT MATTERS. >> Reporter: HE'S CALLED PUTIN A KILLER WITH NO SOUL. SO, AFTER THAT MEETING, TODAY, I ASKED HAS HE NOW CHANGED HIS MIND? >> YOU, FAMOUSLY, TOLD HIM HE DIDN'T HAVE A SOUL. DO YOU, NOW, HAVE A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HIM, AFTER THIS MEETING? >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. >> Reporter: AS THE PRESS CONFERENCE ENDED, THE PRESIDENT BRISTLING AT THIS QUESTION. >> WHY ARE YOU SO CONFIDENT HE'LL CHANGE HIS BEHAVIOR, MR. PRESIDENT? >> I'M NOT CONFIDENT. WHERE IN THE HELL -- WHEN DID I SAY I WAS CONFIDENT? I SAID WHAT WILL CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR IS THE WORLD REACTS TO THEM AND IT DIMINISHES THEIR STANDING IN THE WORLD. I'M NOT CONFIDENT OF THE ANYTHING. >> AND FOR MORE, NOW, ON THE FALLOUT FROM THE SUMMIT HERE IN THE U.S., ABC NEWS POLITICAL DIRECTOR, RICK KLEIN, JOINS US NOW. RICK, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US. POLITICALLY, DO YOU SEE THIS SUMMIT AS A SUCCESS FOR PRESIDENT BIDEN? >> I THINK JOE BIDEN CAN -- CAN SCORE THIS AS A WIN BUT IT'S A WIN WITH AN ASTERISK. OR MAYBE, A GRADE OF INCOMPLETE. AND I THINK THE CLOSING COMMENTS IN CECELIA'S REPORT I THINK TELL YOU EXACTLY WHY HE ISN'T ABLE TO SAY RIGHT NOW THAT HE HAS CHANGED PRESIDENT PUTIN'S BEHAVIOR. WHAT HE IS ABLE TO SAY, THOUGH, IS THAT WE REESTABLISHED COMMUNICATIONS. WE WE TURNED DOWN THE TEMPERATURE. WE HAVE HAD JOINT UNDERSTANDINGS BETWEEN THE RUSSIAN LEADER AND THE AMERICAN LEADER. THAT IS PROGRESS. THAT IS WHAT HE WAS LOOKING TO GET OUT OF THIS. BUT THE QUESTION OF WHETHER PUTIN'S BEHAVIOR WILL BE ANY DIFFERENT. WHETHER THE RUSSIANS WILL TREAT THE AMERICANS ANY DIFFERENTLY. WHETHER THERE'LL BE MORE CULPABILITY TO -- TO -- TO ANYTHING THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. THAT REMAINS TO BE SEEN. AND -- AND I THINK THERE IS A LOT OF SKEPTICISM SURROUNDING THAT. AND I THINK YOU SAW, THROUGH PUTIN'S PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY, REASONS FOR THAT SKEPTICISM. HE CONTINUES TO PEDDLE FALSEHOODS. AND -- AND HAVE LOTS OF DENIALS AND THOSE ARE FRUSTRATING TO THE AMERICAN SIDE. SO I THINK BIDEN CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT THIS TRIP, BUT KNOW THAT A LOT ABOUT HIS GRADE IS GOING TO BE DETERMINED, DOWN THE ROAD. >> AND, RICK, TO THAT POINT ABOUT ANY CHANGES IN PUTIN'S BEHAVIOR THAT REMAIN TO BE SEEN. PRESIDENT BIDEN SAID IT MAY TAKE SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR TO SEE IF THE U.S. AND RUSSIA, QUOTE, HAVE A STRATEGIC DIALOGUE THAT MATTERS. IS IT RISKY, POLITICALLY, FOR BIDEN TO PUT ANY SORT OF TIMEFRAME ON RELATIONS WITH PUTIN CHANGING? >> YES. AND HERE'S ONE, BIG REASON. PUTIN DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. THE -- THE NEXT ELECTIONS. THE MIDTERMS, LIKE JOE BIDEN DOES OR A RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN, A FEW YEARS FROM NOW. PUTIN GOT THAT JOB FOR AS LONG AS HE WANTS IT, ESSENTIALLY. AND I THINK THERE WAS A POTENT RYE MINDER OF THAT AND OF PUTIN'S UNDERSTANDING OF THE AMERICAN-POLITICAL SYSTEM. IN RESPONSE TO OUR COLLEAGUE RACHEL SCOTT'S QUESTION ABOUT -- ABOUT -- ABOUT SOME OF THESE ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN RAISED. YOU SAW PRESIDENT PUTIN, DIRECTLY, GO AND TALK ABOUT BLACK LIVES MATTER. TALK ABOUT JANUARY 6th. AND FRANKLY, LIE ABOUT THOSE EVENTS, IN A -- IN A VERY EXPLOSIVE WAY. IN A WAY, THAT UNDERSTANDS THAT THE TRUMPISM IS VERY STRONG. AND THAT SOME OF THE THEORIES, THE CONSPIRACY THEORIES THAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, HAVE A CERTAIN APPEAL. THAT IS WHAT BIDEN HAS TO DEAL WITH WHEN HE GETS BACK. PUTIN DOESN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DOMESTIC POLITICS. IN SOME WAYS, YOU KNOW, HE OWNS AND AMERICAN PRESIDENT JUST RENTS AND HE RECOGNIZES THAT. AND HAS THE ABILITY TO PLAY THE LONG GAME. AND IF BIDEN PUTS TIMELINES ON THAT, THAT PUTS SOMETHING ELSE IN PUTIN'S MIND IN TERMS OF HOW HE CAN PLAY THIS. >> AND TO YOUR POINT, THOSE MISCHARACTERIZATIONS BY VLADIMIR PUTIN ON THE WORLD STAGE. REPUBLICANS HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT PRESIDENT BIDEN GAVE PUTIN A WIN, BY EVEN HAVING THIS MEETING TODAY. DO YOU THINK THAT THEY HAVE A POINT? >> THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT PUTIN WANTED THIS MEETING. HE GETS -- HE GETS SOME KIND OF BENEFIT FROM JUST BEING SEEN AS A PEER TO THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT. THE RUSSIAN-POWER DYNAMICS, THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY, NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. AND HE RECOGNIZES. PUTIN I THINK WANTS TO BE BACK ON THAT SAME KIND OF PLANE. TO BE TREATED AS SOMEONE WHO CAN LOOK EYE TO EYE WITH AN AMERICAN PRESIDENT SO THERE IS RISK INVOLVED WITH THAT. AND WE KNOW THE BIDEN WHITE HOUSE HAD INTERNAL DISAGREEMENTS ABOUT WHETHER TO HAVE THIS MEETING, IN THE FIRST PLACE. BUT OBVIOUSLY, HOWEVER HE SPINS IT, THE -- BIDEN GETTING SOMETHING OUT OF IT AS WELL. SO, YES, PUTIN GETS SOMETHING HE WANTS. AND -- AND I THINK HE WAS ON HIS BEST BEHAVIOR. FOR PUTIN. IN PART, BECAUSE HE RECOGNIZED THE POWER OF THIS MOMENT AND THE SYMBOLISM. HE COULD BE A MORE GRACIOUS MAN FOR HAVING GOTTEN THIS. BUT THE MEETING WAS CUT SHORT. AND, OF COURSE, THE TWO MEN DIDN'T APPEAR TOGETHER, AFTERWARD. >> AND, RICK, FINALLY, FROM AN OPTICS PERSPECTIVE, HOW DIFFERENT WAS TODAY'S MEETING FROM WHEN PRESIDENT TRUMP MET WITH PUTIN IN HELSINKI DURING HIS PRESIDENCY? >> YEAH, NIGHT AND DAY. I MEAN, YOU SAW PRESIDENT -- PRESIDENT TRUMP SHOWER PRAISE ON PUTIN. AND VERY FAMOUSLY, INFAMOUSLY EVEN, SAY THAT HE BELIEVED PUTIN WHEN HE SAID THAT -- THAT THE RUSSIANS WERE NOT INVOLVED IN MEDDLING IN THE 2016 ELECTION. AND SIDING WITH HIS -- WITH THE RUSSIAN PRESIDENT OVER HIS OWN-INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY. NOTHING LIKE THAT FROM BIDEN TODAY. BUT, OF COURSE, BIDEN ENDING THE DAY ON THAT TESTY NOTE. HE RECOGNIZES THAT THERE IS WHOLES IN THE CALCULATION HERE. THAT IT MAY NOT, ALL, PAN OUT. AND FOR AS MUCH CONFIDENCE AS HE HAD GOING IN AND COMING OUT, HE RECOGNIZES THERE IS A LOT OF WORK, STILL, TO BE DONE. >> SO MUCH WORK, STILL, TO BE DONE AND WE WILL BE WATCHING. ABC NEWS POLITICAL DIRECTOR, RICK KLEIN. RICK, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US TONIGHT. >> THANK YOU. >>> MEANWHILE, AMAZON PRIME DAY, QUICKLY, BECAME ONE OF THOSE SIGNATURE-SHOPPING DAYS. THANKS FOR STREAMING WITH US AND GOOD NIGHT. >> DAKOTA WAS A HAPPY, LOVING, CARING, 15-YEAR-OLD ATHLETE AND ARTIST. AND MUSIC ENTHUSIAST. >> SCHOLAR. >> SCHOLAR. >> DAKOTA WAS DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19 ON SUNDAY, MAY 2nd. BY MONDAY EVENING, DAKOTA'S SYMPTOMS, QUICKLY, PROGRESSED. AND WE ENDED UP ADMIT -- TAKING HER TO THE HOSPITAL, LATER ON THAT EVENING AT 3:00 OR 5:00 IN THE MORNING. ON TUESDAY, MAY 4th, SHE PASSED AWAY. DAKOTA HAD NO-UNDERLYING SYMPTOMS OR ILLNESSES OR DISEASES. AND THE VIRUS TOOK HER, IN LESS THAN 72 HOURS FROM THE FIRST TIME SHE PRESENTED A SYMPTOM. >> SHE WAS THE TYPICAL DADDY'S GIRL. AND I WAS THE PROTOTYPICAL GIRL DAD. SO, SHE WAS MY BEST FRIEND. AND I'M REALLY GOING TO MISS HER ON FATHER'S DAY BECAUSE SHE ALWAYS MADE IT SO SPECIAL FOR ME. >> I LOST MY HUSBAND, MARTIN ADDISON, TO COVID-19 ON APRIL 29th, 2020. AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH, MY HUSBAND WAS ONLY 44 YEARS OLD. HE WAS YOUNG. HE WAS HEALTHY. WE HAVE TWO BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. THEY ARE MY GREATEST GIFT THAT MARTIN EVER GAVE ME, AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THE -- FOR THEM. BUT MY HEART ACHES FOR THEM, TO KNOW THAT THEY JUST HAVE ME, NOW. AND I DO MY BEST TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY KNOW WHO THEIR DAD IS. THAT HE WAS A HERO. THAT HE LOVED THEM. SO MUCH. THAT HE WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR THEM. MY DAUGHTER WILL ASK TO SEE VIDEOS OF HER DAD WHEN SHE HAS A MEMORY. AND NOW, GRAHAM WANTS TO WATCH VIDEOS OF HIS PAPA, TOO. AND THAT'S THE WAY THAT THEY'RE GOING TO KNOW THEIR PAPA AND IT'S HEARTBREAKING. BUT I'M SO GLAD WE HAVE THOSE VIDEOS AND PICTURES BECAUSE THOSE WILL HELP THEM LEARN ABOUT THE SILLY, AMAZING PAPA THEY HAD. >> I SPEND THE MAJORITY OF MY TIME HERE IN THE COVID ICU. AND I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE THE PANDEMIC STARTED. AND TAKING CARE OF MORE COVID PATIENTS THAN I REALLY CAN -- CAN COUNT. WE DO FORM A BOND AND A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOME OF THOSE FAMILY MEMBERS, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT, ALSO, HAS BEEN EXTREMELY, EMOTIONALLY TAXING US. RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS, TO COME IN DAY IN AND DAY OUT AND TALK TO THE PATIENTS' FAMILY. AND HEAR THE STORIES ABOUT HOW THE PATIENT WAS, BEFORE THEY WERE THIS SICK AND HERE IN THE HOSPITAL ON THE VENTILATOR. I DID HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEND SOME TIME WITH A FAMILY MEMBER. WHO WAS REALLY CLOSE TO THEIR LOVED ONE. ON THE DAY THAT HE PASSED, I HAPPENED TO BE HERE. AND I WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ICU. BUT I COULD HEAR HIS FAMILY MEMBER CRYING. AND SCREAMING BECAUSE HE WAS PASSING AWAY. AND I THINK THAT IS ONE OF THE HARDEST THINGS TO BE HERE AND SEE THESE THINGS, DAILY, THAT WE SEE. AND THEN, TO GO OUT AND TO GO HOME. AND TRY TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE. AND TO CARRY ON. PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT GOES ON IN THE ICU, WHO DON'T TAKE COVID SERIOUSLY, WHO DON'T THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO WEAR THEIR MASK. WHO HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO GET A VACCINE. IT IS, STILL, VERY REAL. IT IS, STILL, SOMETHING THAT IS VERY SERIOUS, AND SHOULD BE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY. >> IT'S BEEN SIX WEEKS SINCE WE LOST DAKOTA DUE TO COVID-19. AND THE FEELING OF GRIEF AND PAIN AND THE QUESTIONS, DID I DO EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE TO PROTECT HER? COULD THE VACCINE HAVE SAVED HER, HAD IT BEEN AVAILABLE WHEN SHE WAS ALIVE? THOSE QUESTIONS. YOU KNOW, IT HAUNTS ME. THEY HAUNT US. I DON'T THINK THAT ANYBODY SHOULD HAVE TO FEEL THIS. I DON'T THINK THAT ANYBODY SHOULD HAVE TO FEEL THIS. THAT THE VIRUS IS OUT OF YOUR CONTROL. BUT WHAT IS IN YOUR CONTROL IS HOW YOU MOVE, HOW YOU HANDLE YOURSELF DURING THIS PANDEMIC. VACCINATIONS ARE IN YOUR CONTROL. WASHING YOUR HANDS IS IN YOUR CONTROL. AND WEARING A MASK IS SOMETHING THAT'S IN YOUR CONTROL. SO, PLEASE, DO IT. >> FOR US, COVID IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A REMINDER OF WHAT WE'VE LOST. AND AS THINGS OPEN UP, IT JUST MAKES OUR LOSS FEEL EVEN MORE. REAL. I THINK WE NEED TO REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE 600,000 FAMILIES, STILL, GRIEVING. AND WHO WILL BE GRIEVING FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES BECAUSE THEY'VE LOST A PERSON THAT THEY LOVED MORE THAN LIFE, ITSELF. AND WE HAVE TO MOVE FORWARD, AND REMEMBER THEM. AND CHERISH ALL THE MEMORIES WE'VE HAD. BUT WE WILL NEVER FORGET. WHAT COVID DID TO OUR FAMILIES.
