Abandoned Racetrack in the Arizona desert - Urban Exploring

alright you guys i got a really exciting one today so i am heading from vegas to phoenix to go pick up my rx7 that i abandoned um because i was angry at it after drift week um so i'm going through this place called sorry about satellite radio i'm going through this place called whitman arizona and you we're going to explore this abandoned race track together which blows my mind because race tracks are so hard to come by for me and drivers like me and meanwhile there's a whole abandoned one here so i'm going to start showing y'all this looks like it was some level of a workshop um rotted roof they tore all kinds of maybe people been dumping stuff here so we'll take a walk through of this here oop let me zoom you out take a walk through of this here abandoned building probably gonna have a hell of birds up in the rafters that are gonna flock out so it uh like this was probably some kind of a workshop i have no idea what all that concrete right there is for kind of neat all right next up there's the trucking trailer we're picking up my fd with i'm taking it to vegas to maybe continue rebuilding it into version two or um something all right so what else we got going on we have a structure that's collapsed over there and this is really interesting to me because i've never seen this this is a semi truck trailer that somebody decided to flip over on its top i don't know why i can't figure out why but i can walk on it whoop um so that's definitely an interesting thing i've never seen before so if anyone wants a free semi-truck trailer um whitman arizona it's called speed world raceway park permanently closed let me get back in the truck and show you guys the driftwood is a race car driver this one pisses me off i can't wait to show this off to you all right i'm trying to figure out how to best capture this on video this is a real neat section right there for drifting i'm sure um without wasting your time is that there's concrete barriers over here and there's a block there and a block there and a block there looks like there's three or four of them to stop people from breaking in here and using the pavement um so that's definitely going to piss me off um i'm curious what this land costs and who owns it because i'm pretty interested in swooping it up and making a practice course out of this um i heard that the previous owner of speed world i think this place is called um got into a fight with the city council and the city councils probably consist of some back in the day and i think they shut it down in the early 2000s or the late 90s because um he refused to bring some stuff up to code so it's probably just a dick measuring contest between the owner of the land and the city council um i'm gonna get back in the truck and i'm gonna go and loop around the access road over there over to the time tower and i'm gonna see what kind of lines we can create to drift out here and if it's worth coming back here so another really important thing to consider if you're gonna be drifting is um pavement condition here you can see there's grind marks in um the stones they ground the surface so that they're it's not just gonna rip tires apart so you can get more than one pass down the drag strip out of it so this could actually be amazing for drifting potentially because i might not be an expert paver but i've never seen a ground pavement like that ground finish right now i'm going to show you all the difference between ground pavement it's perfectly flat and unground pavement a lot rougher it's going to eat tires up a lot faster i'm used to drifting on stuff like this which is bunk nobody should have to do that one right here so there's just a bush and a pile of dirt going out of drag way still on the main strip right here this is actually where you'd be shutting your engine down and um and putting your brakes on for the last turn over here um i'm hoping that this last turn is going to be good for [Music] here's the last turn there's actually still paint on the ground there's weeds coming up out of the cracks um i assume that this is gonna be very bumpy but um i mean look at that it's it's pretty wide so you can take it wide over there or you can take it on the inside over there and not even really have to sweat um any of that let's see coming in here it's a little narrow on me but um i'd actually say i'd hit it in reverse of how i'm going right now so i would come in the opposite of the way i'm i'm going um hook that corner and then go back on to the drag way over there i'm gonna use this to determine how long this place has been abandoned um back in the day or even now um palm trees the leaves die and fold back and humans trim them down so that right there is when the track quit getting maintained um i'd say that tree is probably i don't know some kind of age but for half of its life this track's been abandoned so maybe like five to 20 years don't know yet um this is a really good section right here so there's all that back there but you can't drift it um there's a three-way intersection right here that you can make some lines out of all the weeds in the ground so that could be a little tough just got wider from a single lane to a two lane um i'm still actually surprised that there's paint on the ground makes me think maybe this place hasn't been um been abandoned all that long um see what is this shack right here i'm gonna get out and inspect so judging by the shingles i'm gonna assume that it has been abandoned pretty long it's a brick building so it's basically going to be here until the end of time um oh this is where they give you your slip so you come back to your pits and they give you your time slip when you're returning from the end of the the drag strip right there um there's another building over there i have no idea what it is maybe we'll find out so i'm gonna get out and walk it um to examine the pavement because it's getting interesting um in all of these cracks the weeds are insane i'm not used to really seeing them in this area look so like green so they probably all die off and melt into like nothing in the summer time but right now i'm just imagining what it would be like to be running my car over that i don't even know if it can because i've never really tried i've seen other people um post videos on youtube of abandoning or drifting abandoned colleges and stadiums and prisons and going over stuff like that so i assume it won't be an issue but that could turn into an issue um so right here there's a curb over there and another three-way intersection it doesn't look like it gets gravely over here it looks like this is real pavement still um this here is the main tower that i'm gonna go to look at all that i can only imagine what it would look like to clear all this so you could drift it or do you just run the 30 000 drift car or any drift car like right over the top of the weeds comment below and let me know what you would do with it um i'm also noticing that the pavement goes through all of these deep weeds over here like i'm gonna walk through it this is all pavement and i think it goes pretty far um i'm still on pavement um looking like i'm still on pavement oh that's a gnarly wasp nest in there see all that so i'm still on pavement [Applause] which means that this whole area right here is either a pits or a skid pad um there's this is pits all of this weeds right here is all um either pits or grandstand or something it's all paved so you could drive a car on it hope i don't find no rabble snakes up in these bushes that would piss me off i won't have my gun with me alrighty so there's the main tower again and uh here is the track there's the first barrier over there [Music] um there's a building i don't know what it does over there actually this is the first barrier and where the staging lights would be for drag racing and that's some kind of a clubhouse track official house right there i'm so blown away that the paint's in such good condition you wouldn't think it would last this long because it gets so hot out here like 120 degrees in the summer so um it's definitely interesting that the paint lasts as well um this is also interesting they build um the the launch pad over here out of concrete because a lot of the times the asphalt can warp and stuff from like 500 or 2000 horsepower cars launching will actually dig in and hit the uh the asphalt so they poured concrete slabs which are great for drifting so interesting i can't believe that they just abandoned all this um and one of the things i'm thinking right now is clutch kickers over in florida which is extremely popular right now basically is very similar to this they took a drag strip and they added a um a drifting track onto the drag strip so that could easily be done here and there's plenty of pavement hiding underneath the weeds there's some houses over there so that could pose a significant issue with cup collars if i come here to hit this um without permission here's a abandoned garage pretty sweet abandoned garage honestly look that's a nice door too all right so here's um i forget what you call these lanes comment down below if you know just some lanes where you uh still got their numbers on them and stuff too that's real neat where everyone uh lines up and stuff and waits for their turn because with drag racing you do your nine seconds uh 16 second pass and then you go around and wait in line for 40 minutes so you can see there's plenty of space to wait in line which would be great for drifting could probably do something fun with these three trees right here about putting a car through them sideways might be a little narrow though i definitely think it's going to be that the cars to uh to be out here running through the weeds man this place is a lot bigger than i expected it to be like there's the truck way back over there so i'm going to go into the uh it's got pavers run up to it so that's nice it's got what else in here and a regular abandoned room another regular abandoned room with birds and the rafters let's see nothing too exciting oh that's neat that was a restaurant so they were doing a restaurant somehow out here and that was the serving area outdoor bar huh yeah outdoor bar that's fancy let's go upstairs that's neat got some metal stairs right here so there's the owner refused to bring this place up to code and i'm very curious what exactly it is that the county was sweating him over because if i can do it i'd definitely be interested in swooping up this plot of land and having a place for for drifting those houses over there are probably the number one issue is people probably built houses next to the racetrack and then we're pissed about the noise and called the city about noise and said he probably tried to enforce noise fines and stuff like that on this guy so that's how race tracks die right guys all right this is real neat it's a very vintage style office like 70s or 90s walls and um oh no they were around back in 2000 or newer because i don't think they had those back before then but this is their office where they would view the race excellent view of the track let's see barrier one barrier two barrier three so they got this excellent view of the track and um yeah they do their up here i think that if i can find a own desk turned over if i think if i can find other people to come out here and drift it with me there's a little bit of safety and numbers when you're dealing with cops so and i think these people over there are going to call the cops so i would definitely be interested in throwing out a public post on the arizona drift pages oh this is sketchy up here definitely extra sketchy i'm not gonna lie you can fall through this um but i think that you could uh or i'm gonna put out a public post and see what i get and that um yeah that's about it that's about all i have to say looks like somebody's coming up to just uh saw that there was an abandoned track and i was coming over here to do a little urban exploring yeah we've been actually over here a couple times bikes over here neat so they got a dirt bike track like somewhere right over here right right let's see we're at you see that three-story building over there oh yeah so the track's actually right in front of it so i'm doing a little youtube filming so i'm gonna zoom in on that and show my viewers so we're out here hanging out at the um abandoned racetrack at speed world and these uh you guys are local here right yeah so what's your names i'm seth riles so this is seth zach and zach rolled up and they're gonna show show me a couple of the cooler highlights of it and we're gonna go look at some art i mean obviously didn't help anything people wanted it closed for a long time the building structures i mean so they apparently didn't do the best job building the place um and the county was definitely on their ass about that and they just confirmed what i was talking about about how um there was a lot of noise complaints this is some of the art that they were telling me to come check out can you see it oh yeah all sorts of old catalogs upstairs all right well let's take a look for a second real quick and just see what he's talking about he says if you go through this trash or catalogs or some kind of vintage speed stuff in here we got hot air balloons there you go tennis parades did you find nhra drag strip see what year it is doesn't really say no neat something i overlooked on my first walk through because there's so much to see is there's this creepy old freezer in here you go in here can't see nothing i think that rush holes coming through it pretty crazy weirdest part is these doors that hold in this freezer away a lot so it's all it's weird that it's just gone that someone stole the door yeah like you think it was a scrapper you think is just a weirdo i mean you really never know the weird part about this place is a lot of the doors are gone doors probably work a lot at a scrapper oh yeah i'm sure yeah probably one thing you'll notice is there's really no doors on any of these buildings i i had noticed that already um the upstairs was real neat for me because you can see everything and i'm a i'm a race car driver and i'm a drifter i'm really into drifting and the place reminds me a little bit of clutch kickers over in florida where they took a drag strip and then paved a drift track right next to it and i was looking at it and thinking we could do all that here but i'm curious how quick the cops come when i when i start the car up yeah yeah it would be interesting i mean we've came in here a lot we've actually had cops come one time i've had them come when we were riding dirt bikes and stuff and some are really cool actually and buddies with the cop he used to come out here and ride his razor patrol he would play troll he says um yeah i was definitely interested because i'm going to tucson right now and picking up um if you guys know what an rx-7 is i have this track prepped rx-7 for drifting and i was thinking since i'm going back to vegas this was the only place on the way so i wanted to check it out and scout it before i get my car on the trailer and then maybe come back and see if there's any locals here that are into drifting you know because there's a little safety in numbers not too far down there used to be this old abandon i think it was like a dog racing track oh yeah they just tore it down that would have been a really cool exploration way cooler than this place oh yeah and the whole place it was built and never used so that's so weird everything here is closed there is actually a whole dirt bike track um yeah you gotta get here we're about to be going to the top of that uh three-story building that overlooks all of the dirt bike track to show you what it is also there might be bees in there so that could be a fun surprise yeah pretty interesting here's actually from as like this one i mean we like to do graffiti where it's in spots where it's not really harming anybody and it's i mean i with it i think it's super cool i think it's nice it's sweet that people still get out of their houses and out of their living rooms and you know quit playing lucky even says 2020 yeah and they go out and just live life instead of sitting there you know watching tv all day there is definitely bees there hey let's go find some bees i wanted to go up there it looks like there's some baskin bees over here some murder hornets and i don't really want to play with them that much yeah they're not real fun yeah once that first thing comes they're all on you so um i think i'm gonna skip that for now look it's kind of neat it looks like they built it out of a cargo container actually i'm seeing the the building code violations now this is a cargo container that they cut apart um which is neat but then they put two wood boxes on top of it so obviously the city's not going to be cool with that come on this side gets sketchier all right what do we got walls are for you don't like the doorway the nowhere wow that's actually really neat wow i can't believe how many bees are in this thing yeah it's really crazy that's absurd wow i don't know if i really hope you guys can see them because i'm definitely risking it over here yeah i'm audis so homies are over here you'll see them in the background in a second i'm we're part and ways i just got their numbers link them to my youtube um they're 16 year old kids that are supposed to be in high school but high school isn't working so they just basically you're driving around exploring jumping their bronco riding dirt bikes just be an american kid all red-blooded american kids all day um which i think is cool as maybe having a couple brews i don't know um and uh they might come over here and hang out with me a little later maybe tomorrow if i bring that fd over here um at this point in time i'm very tempted to uh bring the fd out here one thing i gotta say is i'm definitely scared that the cops are gonna be on my ass very fast i think that there's some cop callers and i think that the rx-7 is pretty loud so um like and subscribe if you want to see more cool abandoned places i know my channel is kind of all over the place like really scattery it's like a like a variety pack or um you know just random where you don't know it's not going to be the same thing every day some days we'll be exploring abandoned racetracks some days we'll be making money some days we'll be uh being tourists and some days is just going to be hard hardcore motorsports which is my preference but um there's so much other stuff you got to do you know in preparation to be doing the hardcore motorsports stuff that i like showing it off all right they all like and subscribe later
