oh [Music] good morning youtube welcome back to another wd detailing video i'm rj brent is behind the camera as usual and we are here with roger today who has given us the opportunity to detail uh his 1957 chevrolet bel air um and this car means a lot to you because uh you mentioned that yes it was my father's car we built it um through the 90s i was about 10 to 13 years old we built this car um you know it means a lot to me has a lot of memories and i hate to see it looking like this but uh you know sometimes these things happen yeah and you said that this is a runner and driver are you driving to work in the summer all the time i drive to work in the summer all the time we go to cruise in nights on saturdays and sundays uh take the kids in it you know whatever it's a it's turnkey it goes yeah and you said you parked it here just because you're doing some insulation on your other garage um and then that's correct and which which is crazy because uh the interior's covered in mold you said that happened over the course of a couple months yeah yeah it was uh we parked it out here in june the end of june beginning july and by september i came out to drive it and it was molded and nasty you can see the floor isn't the best condition this is obviously just gravel and dirt floor so right right should have known better but nonetheless i mean she's still in phenomenal condition as far as you know rust or just overall you know wear and tear it looks like how many miles are on it oh it's rolled over a couple times oh i'm guessing over a hundred thousand gotcha you know it doesn't read that extra one on the older car so right you don't really know right and uh i mean you probably rebuilt the engine as well yep it's got a 400 inch chevy engine small block chevy engine in it um board 408 cam headers roller rockers all that good stuff um 202 valve stuff like that it's a good running car four speed manual for nine inch rear end i mean it's not going to keep up with the the newer cars yeah yeah that's supposed to be though you know the goal man this is sunday driving at its best on these country roads i mean that's got to be such a cool feeling and then on top of that too taking it to uh um you know the local car shows and and uh i think the the respect that you get from some of the older heads there that the older heads are all over it right yeah i can imagine yeah i mean those are the best car shows those guys um you know we we've been to a lot of tuner shows down in cleveland where we're from and uh there's always somebody that's rip roaring and burning tires and 7-elevens yeah and they just it's a certain level of respect where um you know when you go to you know these cars and coffees with these older guys and you actually show an interest in in the car they'll break down the whole entire history and um their whole entire process with the car means zoom and just more character every one of them i bought one of these for 500 yeah yeah right and you get to see them relive that memory on their face and they do you know that's actually one of the main reasons why me and brent choose to do these barn finds for these older cars because there's more history behind them sure so yeah it's a great process too i'm excited to see what you guys are going to do because you know while it is a runner driver it was clean you know before i put it in here it wasn't clean clean detailed polish or anything i haven't seen it that clean and detailed since it's been a couple years gotcha so we're going to clean it up it'll end up sitting in that heated garage and she'll be ready to roll by spring roll yeah cool cover it up good to go nice well without a further ado we're going to go and pull it over into the heated garage warm up a bit and we'll get to it all right sounds good thanks roger [Applause] [Music] [Music] let's go [Music] now taking a quick look over this beauty it's kind of funny because if you look closely you'll notice these tiny little paw prints all over it and funny enough later in the video i think the culprit of these paw prints showed up and ended up walking on to part of what we were cleaning and it's kind of funny you guys will see that a little later and you'll hear a reaction while we were doing it but really to sum up the condition of this car in a couple words it was covered in dust it was covered in spider webs and then on the inside it was covered in molds so we had a lot of work cut out for us but i want to hop into the question of the video because i think this is a good one that you guys will have a lot of fun answering has there ever been a time that you can remember with either one of your parents or your grandparents that you had something special between just the two of you that you've been able to remember and cherish and hold dear to you just like the owner of this car roger did you have something you were able to build together or a place that they would take you on a sunday and you could enjoy each other's company or something like that leave a comment down below if you guys had something like that you don't have to go super into detail or you can we love reading your comments so if you guys had something like that let us know down below or if you're a parent or a grandparent now and you have something like that with your child or grandchild now leave that in the comments as well now hopping into the detail we went ahead and started with the interior and the absolute first thing we did was take out the front seats and dismantle and pull out the back seat we went ahead and took out all the trash on the floor along with any of roger's belongings and put those in a separate plastic baggie to give him at the end of the detail and then we went ahead and started vacuuming right after that [Music] um [Music] [Music] so my now after vacuuming the first thing we started with were the seats and this is what watch happened buddy come on oh hi big guy no no what are you doing what are you doing dude gotta get off come on gotta get off gotta get off what are you doing i guess uh we have a new detail around the team what are you doing you gotta get off come on off get off buddy come on off come on come here go get him come here come here go get him good boy it's a girl good girl yeah so what we were told by roger about this cat is it's a stray cat that lives around his property and lives in the barn around that area um and it actually has part of its tail that got bit off by another animal and it has an injury to its eye it has a bunch of injuries but it was honestly such a nice cat it was following me around the entire time it was rubbing up against our legs the entire it was just such a nice little kitty um and it made the entire day so much more enjoyable just to see it roaming around and it would come up to us and it would let us pet it for a second and then walk away so i thought that was pretty funny i wanted to leave it in [Music] so [Music] do [Music] so [Music] after cleaning the seats we went ahead and did the doors off camera and then we moved to the center console and dashboard and we were pretty careful with it we didn't really have to be but we decided just to kind of go easy with it so we used a really soft bristle brush and an all-purpose cleaner and we really just took our time and got in every nook and cranny and cleaned it really well [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] money [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so i don't think i've gone in depth on our extraction process in quite a while and i mean i'm sure a lot of you guys watch a lot of detailing videos but for those of you who may not always watch them and you might be curious on our specific process we're a little bit different than other detailers by just a hair because i mean you can only change up so much but the first thing we do is spray our extractor soap on the carpet and then you'll see rj he'll take the head of the extractor and make it a little bit more wet with it and by doing that it creates less friction when you're using the drill brush thus creating a little less wear and tear on the actual carpet so it's safer on the carpet it also helps it foam up and start working at the same time so we'll spray on our solution we'll add a little extra water to it and then we'll drill brush it and then we'll extract it away and we only use hot water on our extractor that's it we don't put anything in our extractor other than water so [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and now with the whole interior clean it was finally time to put it all back together and don't worry i know rj's feet were just on the carpet but every single time we do a car no matter what we always do a final vacuum at the very end so we vacuum the carpets one last time to make sure we get anything that might get left behind but after putting the seats back in we did a little bit of a leather conditioning treatment we cleaned up the windows did the floor mats and then we were finally able to pull this thing outside and start working on the exterior [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] ah [Music] so [Music] now for the exterior there's not too much i have to explain so this will probably be the last voiceover for the rest of the video so really quickly i just want to say if you guys enjoyed this video don't forget to hit the like button and also subscribe to the channel because it really does help us out but we went ahead and gave the car a really thorough wash just made sure to get as much of the dust and dirt off as possible and then we gave it a quick polish to get rid of any oxidation in the paint that's happened over the last few years and it was time to reveal the car to roger and he was around for the entire day so he saw the process but he got to see the whole thing come together and you guys get to see his reaction at the end [Music] [Music] more [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] all right guys so we just finished up uh about a nine hour day or so um the daylight savings time was uh last night i think so that's why it's dark already um i feel like we put in a pretty good day's work and and hopefully uh judging by the the end result you'd agree absolutely the car looks amazing um this car hasn't looked this good in years to be honest with you i usually you know buff it wax it once a year looks way better than anything i've ever done um yeah the interior came out great the mold came out of the interior the paint feels like glass it feels awesome i love the touch of freshly yeah even though as bad as it is you're not supposed to right i love to touch it because it feels like glass um it's beautiful i can't say enough good things about it the work ethic these two guys put in today uh their character says a lot you know and uh now it can be covered for the winter and put away and i can feel good about taking it out in the spring you know there's no mold on the inside and the paint's beautiful well thank you very much it was in decent shape there was some oxidation and hairline scratches and although we didn't get rid of all the scratches um the paint looks uh significantly better the reflection from the overhead lights um you know it's it's it's pretty clear for the most part we're happy that um you know something that you and your dad got to work on we kind of got to share in the the history of the car as well and uh and i don't know if your dad's still around no he's he's been gone for a couple years now this would make him very happy though he loved this car this was his heart and soul i love that that's uh that's why we do this um it's uh it's a connection of the people to their cars and then um the best is when it's it's someone who's passed on and and you kind of get to you know make them proud so i love that i can't i'm smiling face right now i i can't get enough of it and uh you're driving it to work tomorrow right i might be yeah let's see what it looks like right right i think tomorrow might be one of the last nice nice guys um but yeah without further ado uh thank you guys for watching if you liked the video hit the like button if you want to see more videos like this hit subscribe and we'll see you next week [Music] you
