hi guys my name is dan uh if you guys don't know me already i'm a board tech here at austin repair group louis giving me the pleasure of doing a board repair on stream uh today i'm gonna be fixing a a 1707 macbook pro let me switch this camera to the overhead so you guys can take a look the customer claimed there was liquid damage so first thing i like to do is go ahead and check see if there's actually any corrosion on the board switch to a microscope set this up so you guys can see properly lewis's eyes i don't know how he sees through this okay first thing i like to do on these boards let's go ahead and just inspect the board see if you can see anything obvious my opinion is the easiest way to find what your issue is i can see looks like some with liquid doesn't look like there's any corrosion on this side of the board let's go ahead and do a quick glance sorry if i'm doing it too quick but my eyes are pretty trained to see what's wrong on these boards right away hello street stomper see someone already saying hello oh and you can see might be hard to see on camera looks like a bunch of liquid damage and corrosion around the left wing cd 3215 let's go ahead and check how many amps and what voltage this device is taking when i switch to overhead press you guys can see the reading on that meter so top port taking 5 volts 0.02 milliamps bottom port also taking five volts which is use usually a sign cd is bad see the other orientation [Music] also taking five volts i'll see first thing i would do on a board like this i wouldn't really waste that much time inspecting the rest of the board i would just go ahead and switch out the cd that looks corroded also looks like that mosfet might be bad let's go ahead and starts with that yeah the donkey my co-workers decided they want to play a prank on me when they know i'm nervous so let's go ahead and get started with this grab some flux i am the same as lewis i love to dump flux on these boards as much as possible i like to cover up cover up these shields below just not over here i believe the thunderbolt chip is under there we don't want to damage that actually let's go ahead and block up this connector not to melt it can you please add more flux trust me i'll be adding a ton of flux if this hasn't come off easily let's go ahead and take this cd off i like to be careful around here i usually cover up the connector with this rubber mat just because it's a pain to put a new one on there you can actually smell the liquid damage some kind of sweet drink likely take it off you can see there was definitely liquid under there a bunch of signs let's see what the cd actually looked like on the other side actually doesn't look too bad looks like there's one ball in the middle that looks completely gone but there's definitely liquid under there so go ahead and grab some gootwick i don't know where lewis keeps it sorry once again this is not my desk i also like to apply a fresh layer of solder just sort of wake it off much easier i dare him to wrap a pad trust me i've done it before it's not fun to fix also i don't know how use it to these tips louis is here but he's he's doing something else so i have the pleasure of doing a border pair oh sorry i meant to say solder let's go ahead and just apply a fresh coat just makes it easier in my opinion to wick this i should probably turn on the fume extractor as well before i suffocate myself okay some wick louis doesn't even have scissors to cut this wick with perfect if i was louis where would i keep a pair of scissors all right well i guess we're not going to do that i'm just going to use this old wick and we're just gonna wick off this old solder to the point where we can put on a new chip without breaking let me cut this with the micro pencil there we go turn on your food retractor i did i was so nervous i almost forgot i can move this pad just it will be fine now let's go ahead and get rid of the excess solder no i have tweezers no i needed scissors but i used this micro pencil thank you there we go that should be good enough i'm a perfectionist so i have to get all these little solder bumps off go let me grab some q-tips and alcohol alcohol this off we go and then we have a nice fresh pads didn't rip any pads unlike someone said you guys get any repairs for them one books we do uh very rarely though they're on the hard side to fix uh since we don't have schematics for them but we've had some success with a few nice little border pair hey dan hello warm welcome thank you everyone for the warm welcomes go ahead and grab a new cd i'm going to switch this to the schematic and board view real quick just to show you guys what i'm replacing today on the front side of the board i don't know how you louis uses these trackball mouses they're terrible uh so the orientation for this cd bottom right switch over to triggers on schematic go we're replacing this cd today uh it's stuck on five volts looks like liquid damage here so that's the first thing i go for don't really go further into investigating what could be wrong with the board as long as i see corrosion usually just replacing what's corroded will work and then if you still doesn't turn on you'd go ahead and dive further so dan are you new to lewis ross and repair group or is this just your first time stream it's my first time streaming i've been doing board repair for about a year now i think lewis gave me the opportunity i was doing shipping before and he asked me if i wanted to try board repair and i said sure so spent a few hours every day just uh practicing board repair let's go ahead and put this cd on so as you see the orientation is on the bottom right just gonna grab the cd oh let me switch to the microscope so you guys can see warm up the solder to melt the solder a little bit and put it into place even grab the fresh pair of tweezers usually our tweezers on my desk okay let's pop this into place i usually like to always move it up a little bit just to get that perfect orientation i lowered a little bit just to imagine where the balls might be landing perfectly on the pads if you use enough flux uh not enough not too much air either just falls into place i'm gonna lower the air a little bit so the chip doesn't go flying hello any 555. he says hello everyone uh bird yesterday i spilled water on my macbook air m1 and now it won't charge you'd be surprised how many liquid damaged machines actually gonna cover up this connector one more time you'd be surprised how many liquid damage machines we get probably the most out of every repair uh this texas instrument chip cd 3215 failed because of liquid damage you can see still in the area a bunch of liquid we'll go ahead and clean that up after replacing this i just want to apply direct heat to this and you'll see eventually it'll pop right into place as long as it doesn't fly away you can see the chip moving a little bit boom pops right into place i like to just run the hot air around it a little bit make sure it's perfectly in place i think the streamlabs isn't working on stream that's a lewis lewis affair cnl's in the chat oh i believe the customer said they had this in their bag and some water spilled out you can see some kind of either water or some kind of sticky liquid i'm going to let this board dry so instead of overhead use lewis's advanced cooling method placing this right in front of the fan for the fume extractor can you re-seat one of those without a hard air station no you won't be able to just because once the balls have to melt into place under the chip what is it about map i don't know what it makes what makes people pour liquid onto them it's the ones we get the most actually the most fun though yeah but i wouldn't doubt it we've had so many people come in with new macbooks saying that we're quoted thousands of dollars just to fix and not many options you have if you can't get schematics for these new macbooks rapid yeah rapid cool technology everyone knows so i'm gonna go ahead and plug in let me move this microscope out of the way there's a cooling option uh i believe lewis has a quick so there's no cooling option on this one the atoms that we sell do have a cooling option currently so i'm gonna go ahead and plug this in i speculate it's also gonna be the mosfet next to it just because it's a little bit corroded but i just wanna check if this works yep there we go see 20 amp uh 20 volts 0.03 yep one amp there we go it's turning on so it's just that corroded let's check the other side see if the other one died as well i'm actually going to see if lewis i think he has a donor board laying out just because i don't like the way that mosfet looks next to it it looks like it was corroded as well let's see if lewis has any 1707's laying around and of course oh wait there's another bucket of and he does louis i see lewis hides all the good donor boards in his office we're stuck using the crappy ones why are my fingers so thick i don't know i was born with them i know right so let's go ahead and replace this you can see a bunch of chrome i'm just going to go ahead and place these because they're corroded we want to make sure this macbook doesn't come back to us for the same reason hopefully these customers can drop more liquid on it and let's grab this hot air i'm gonna cover up this shield and the heatsink thank you for very educational video thank you jimmy lewis is a hoarder look at his apartment i don't know what lewis's apartment looks like cause i've never been there it's some kind of i think it's like soda or something this customer said it was water but a lot of people are also a lot of times we get macbooks too that people said they even spill liquid on it but do the mosfets feel i've seen these mosfets fail a decent amount uh it's usually liquid damage though i'm just replacing this one because it's corroded all around let me grab a q-tip and some i actually have to bring my own alcohol because lewis couldn't find lewis's go ahead and clean this area up a little bit [Music] yeah you can see it's all the sticky stuff probably gonna have to windex that later before we return this to the customer [Music] you're right pedro paul daniels should be should be soldering let's grab some more flux i'm actually going to take this little cap off under it too i don't like the way that looks you can see the discoloration on the top of it if i can zoom in a little bit yeah see this little cap pretty sure this macbook would work without it right there scratch away at that actually this was just only just a little bit of sugar on the top let me go ahead and replace this mosfet i'm just gonna grab this on my donor board so we have a ton laying around but most of our donor boards are actually missing this this mosfet funny enough just gonna slap some flux on there let's go ahead i'm just gonna grab this from a donor board i wonder if apple is going to start serializing the mosfets and capacitors who knows what they're going to do dan can you repair macbook while drunk akb genius bar technicians i think i could do it definitely would help calm the nerves a little bit so you see this pop into place tap that over a little bit you go that capacitor under actually looks fine once we wipe some mud away i'm gonna go ahead and grab some alcohol and clean up this area like so i might even dip this wing of the board in the uc even though i don't like using boards too often just to get all that sugary drink out from under there now that we've done that get a little bit more on there [Music] i should be fine for now and let's go ahead and check one more time make sure it's still turning on and make sure i didn't put a bad mosfet on there charge for it what kind of alcohol is used for cleaning we use uh 90 90 plus percent isopropyl alcohol just to make sure we don't damage any component that's sugary water yet i can feel how sugary it is probably need a little bit of a little bit more alcohol does the top left have a burnt spot did you touch it no that's just a little bit of sugar on it it should be fine the solder joints look look perfectly fine yep and it's still turning on uh usually i would show you guys that this has image but actually i already took a look at the screen side connector and it needs to be replaced we're going to be doing that too dan doesn't drink unlike some other employee employers ease that shall remain nameless yeah so this board is now turning on this is the donor board i'm going to move this away and i'm going to show you guys why we need to replace so as you can see there was also liquid on this lcd connector but it doesn't look too bad usually they're they're much worse definitely have to replace this lcd cable uh but let's show you guys what the screen itself looks like is a screenside connector i have one already but thank you now hanel just brought me a screenside connect oh you know you could grab though an lcd cable 1707 as you guys can see screen side connector definitely needs to be replaced i usually go ahead and uh replace the mux right away too i'll show you that on the board you can see exactly right here all the signals that lead to the mux you can find on this top bottom left corner i'll show you guys that on the schematic so we just go ahead and replace that right away because 99.9 percent of the time they die alex was the owner bathing in blueberries blueberry juice still maybe for sugar yeah we usually sometimes use a little bit of windex let me move this thank you now uh i'm just gonna use that screen once or just i'll grab a test screen if it doesn't work so first thing i'm gonna do is actually i'll probably let's let's do the screen first and see if it'll turn on without that so i actually need to go ahead and take this macbook apart take the assembly off need a pl1 t3 and i should say t3 and then pl5 a warm welcome from dante to him thank you dan i see your your last name also looks polish just like mine okay so let's go ahead to take take this macbook apart now pretty much how to take all these screws out wi-fi antennas all that good stuff does lewis have magnets that's the real question i don't see any magnets how do oh there we go and as i'm heading under the desk so let's go ahead and take these take this macbook apart [Music] let's not strip my brand new i am polish yup born here though i see see you're also polish we have a few polish people working here actually which was really surprising when i started working here so i'm gonna go ahead and do all the t3 screws first just turn the ventilator then you got fan spin and problem solved i'm german oh neighbors though took the shield kill boss on the launch break yep oh i love java case yeah it's a hit or miss sometimes people drop a whole bottle of water on their macbook and there's like one drop of corrosion and then we have customers that come in saying they dropped one drop don't know how screw but they'll come in and say they dropped one drop and then half the board is croated dan is stealing all of erica's viewers i don't know about that one okay got all the t3 screws out i hate doing these little screws because they're one pl and there's a ton of them [Laughter] my pl1 is terrible for this see if lewis has one t3 let's do the pl5s first i want some punch key now i think that's everywhere though not just poland people people especially if they want to get data off the device yeah that happens unfortunately mela melamed dura mamoduro interesting name i like it lewis also doesn't have a t8 yeah fix lewis's setup i don't know how he works without have these screwdrivers missing just bear with me now i need to take there's a ton of screws to take out here want to be careful too he's really don't want to damage the screen all these cables are really sensitive too if it's not the right bit just press harder that works until you strip it and then you're sitting there with an ifixit kit trying to take out every single thing yeah long screw is worst nightmare let me go ahead and grab a better pl one this one looks absolutely terrible i'll be right back guys okay i'm back with a non-stripped oh yeah i forgot that louis always switches his camera to the chair stream non-stripped pl1 there we go now it comes out like butter chris may ask are the new m1 max any harder to fix have you guys had any crazy stories that nothing about crazy stories but i feel like those newer macbooks the board has a lot less components on it dancing natural thank you but yeah those new m1 macbooks they're interesting i always like working on new devices even if you can't figure it out but then you throw yourself down the rabbit hole of staying there for a few hours working on a device and then the board ends up being the no fix just because you don't have the schematic adjustable torque hand drills i know some people here have electric screwdrivers but i never really liked it hello oscar it's scary to think the more and more apple complicates these boards the harder and harder it's going to be to fix see my co-workers pl one is just as bad that's mine yeah i've had to i've had a few times i've had to drill out screws just because customers have stripped them trying and take it out themselves the wrong screwdriver a little bit of pressure i see someone rolled a short straw no trust me if i didn't want to do this i wouldn't be here hello paul oh i don't want to i don't want to kill your pl one as well uh where is it right there yeah look at the tip says he at gunpoint that's why you don't see me on camera because lewis point ain't going behind me not actually it's just a joke okay that should be almost every screw just these big ones here on the hinges might get boring so it's a valuable job very true it's better than see for example here what would apple do tell you the first thing is replace the whole computer not only is the screen dead but also the board just to prove says hi hi said you can't see me don't worry lewis isn't even here handsome dan from wayne's world too never never seen that before but i'll take a look after this stream okay finally we got all these screws out let's go ahead and take the screen out be as careful as possible go ahead and pull out these antennas real quick it's always a pain to take out but you do want to do this as yeah a little bit sticky from the liquid too you can hear the nice little crisp snapping sound gently take this out there we go don't want to rip these wi-fi antennas either wi-fi and bluetooth there we go i'm going to put this to the side somewhere where i'll find it later is this liquid damage yeah for those of you that haven't been here a little bit earlier uh there was liquid damage that are bored we fixed that already it was one cd 3215 on the right side basically the way apple designed this is the fan is right here there's these vents on the side so it instantly falls into the wing that's usually where on the newer mods it's where the ssd are and that's probably like the main cause of why most of these are no fixes and then now we're working on this screen connector i'll show it one one more time right here go ahead and press this down a little bit there you go see and that screen connector is burnt so we're going to be replacing that now let's go ahead and take this assembly out just very once again being very careful actually there's a little screw in here let me go ahead and fish that out real quick there we go and we want to pull this assembly back until it just pops out like that there we go and boom there's the top case taken apart put this in lewis's slot next to his desk for his macbooks and now we're going to replace this customer's screen connector i'm going to set it up the way i like to set it up i usually put this on its side and then use something to leverage it up from behind also i want to be careful not to use too much heat just because we don't want to kill kill their customers screen so as you leverage something behind like so now you guys can't see but i'm just putting some should we give dan a warm welcome thank you i'm doing some precautions to make sure we don't damage this customer's screen by accident of course that does happen but hopefully not today and let's cover use a heat deflector of some kind yeah i'm just going to cover this up with these metal metal pads everyone here has a different way of doing it this is my favorite way uh and i always put the little rubber mat here just in case not to damage the bezel or the screen microscope show you guys what this connector looks like once again yeah as you can see the connector looks terrible and i like usually what i like to do is first well first you have to take off the old connector so let's slap some flux on there i'm not really worried about overdoing on the flux because all this of course you just clean it off and this flux amtec flux comes off easily which you can buy at store.rosmangroup.com let's cover this those are the backlight cables under that shield and i usually like to do see something around like 385 for heat even 350 just to take it off so 385 and probably about 50 air it does take a little bit longer but you want to make sure you're not damaging anything else only perfectly plugged because i used to do a store that ross from group.com and lucy would yell at me if anything was out of stock if it yeah see like you said if it's kept in stock so let's go ahead and heat this up you can see there's a bunch of that sugary liquid here too oh and perfect there's a plug from nightbot i'm just going to gently heat this using 385 and 50. and you'll see this connector start to move just peel that side off first and there we go so all the pads actually do let me adjust this a little bit let me clean this off so you guys have a better view looks like all the pads are intact i don't have to scrape away at any of them yeah all these pads look fine there's some more alcohol do i speak polish yes but no matter how much you beg me i won't be able to do it on stream there we go yeah so it's gonna go ahead and swipe a new connector on there which we also sell at store.rossmangroup.com yeah this board is kind of nasty i'm gonna go ahead and put some fresh solder on though just so it melts a little bit easier slap some flux on there you guys can't see but i'm actually doing this at a really weird angle and put some fresh solder on i put a bunch of fresh solder on this tip already don't need too much but we just want to make sure this melts much quicker just so we don't melt that connector go get rid of these bridges get this plot twist dan was the guy doing all the macbook repairs from the beginning do you imagine that let's put a little bit more flux on there okay that should be fine sometimes i like to heat it a little bit before i put the connector on too just to get that solder into place you can see they have like little little mountains make sure it all looks uniform yeah actually i remember when i first started i barely used any flux and then i said you know what you can just use see this if you put too much flux on it and i spend way too much time cleaning [Music] boards uh the temperature on the hot station hot air station i'll just use 385 for a temperature and around 50 50 for the air of course you can mess around with it and do it i see other daniels sending tongue twisters i'm just gonna touch up that i didn't like that way way too much solder on there i think dan deserves at least a bit of new york city's outdoor dining for this stream i don't know about that one okay so let's go ahead and line up this new connector i grabbed and just try to line this up as close as possible i usually oh it's trying to run away as close as possible it'll fall into place how close hot air nozzle uh not super close i'd say even like an inch away this does take time so i wouldn't rush it just because if you do too much too much heat and try to do it too quick it'll just melt the connector okay if only this would actually fall into place for me oh perfect and we can go ahead and heat this slowly you'll see it eventually just pop into place there's nothing wrong with too much flux you can just clean it off after hopefully you guys can see while i do this the reason why we put the new solder on is so that it melts quicker you also don't want to melt this connector and the cables around it and you just want to slowly heat this not to overheat the connector or overheat this pcb like so luckily we have an almost infinite supply of flux so i don't have to worry about using too much and i can see that solder starting to melt just give it a little tap to make sure it's sitting properly there we go can someone give me a rundown basically is a 1707 macbook that was liquid damage customer said they left it in their bag i don't know why this microscope left it in their bag we fixed the logic board one cd 3215 now i'm just finished fixing the screen side connector on the screen assembly itself because there's liquid there as well so i'll let it dry off a little bit then we just clean out the flux and we have a nice clean connector so i'm going to take this out who is dan is he a new employee no i've been working here for a while originally i was doing shipping but louis gave me the opportunity to do board repair and that's what we're doing now so i'm gonna go ahead and try out this screen actually when you do need to fix the board i'm gonna go ahead and replace the mux just in case like i said not just from previous repairs we've done 99 of the time it dies as well when does the supersonic cleaner use really only for when boards are really i only use it really when the boards are like terribly bad or when just clean off excess flux the flux would just flow very true i'm just gonna go ahead and clean this a little bit more as you can see screen looks fine sometimes it'll be like a little bit of i don't know fog on it from the heat but i didn't use too much so now we're going to switch out just a little bit it's okay i'm going to move the screen to the side for now we're going to bring the board back and we're going to replace the mux no ball removal now there's no need for it yeah he mentioned me in one of the videos still grateful for being allowed to learn learn board repair on my own time and i have great teachers like louis and everyone else that works here too so i'm gonna go ahead and take off the heatsink and then i'll show you guys on the schematic what we're going to be replacing grab another magnet where did i put those magnets oh there it is and i'm gonna go ahead and grab the lcd cable as well because like i showed you guys before it's burnt promoted to macbook repair right on dan thank you so let's go ahead and take this heat sink off the shield aside there we go now let's get this last screw and take off these shields i'm going to go ahead and take off this lcd connector while i'm at it or lcd cable yeah i made it much easier that effect that i had a lot of great teachers are always willing to help so i'm take this off for later let's move these to the side and let's clean off this thermal paste hello james and just take this off we'll reapply it before we test the screen that should be fine for now go ahead and tap off the excess thermal paste so the next thing we're going to be replacing chip right here it's called the mux i'm going to go ahead and put it on the microscope this chip right here in between cpu and gpu i'll go ahead and show you guys on the schematic like i said 99 of the time when we replace the screen connection side connectors and his liquid damage to it it's usually on the exact signals that come out of this chip uh right here u9850 it's called the digital uh also called the analog mux and you see all these signals for lcd and display coming out of this chip so i'm going to go ahead and place that now yeah it's best to be careful but you can actually sustain a lot of heat or actually they're pretty heat resistant so i like to cover it up regardless just to be safe you never want to overheat something all right let's put some flux on there pretty much you want to try to at the same time i use 500 500 temp just to get it off as quick as possible so let's put 500 and i usually lower the air outflow a little bit and let's take this off i usually point it towards this rubber let's take this mux off once again as long as you yeah sometimes i overkill on the flux but sometimes i don't you don't want to use too much heat in this area so you pretty much want to take this off as quickly as possible how close to chip is your tip as in the hot air station about about i'd say probably an inch so take off the smokes we're gonna go ahead and wick those pads hello kitty i notice you from lurking on discord i'm going to go ahead and put some fresh solder on here just makes it easier to take it off candace is looking for me i'm going to go ahead and apply some solder oh i'm using these tweezers if you want to take a look i neezy i think i don't remember where we bought these from kyon lee i think i probably butchered how you pronounce that but i love them they're a little bit on the bigger side so if you like really really small tweezers probably not for you but i have a few different sets of tweezers at my desk just gonna grab some new wick let's cut this i see there's some comedians in chat see louis's gootwick container is just as ruined as mine okay i'm gonna go ahead and wick this old solder off so we can apply a new chip i'm putting on new solder and licking it off there's some nice clean pads i want to be sure not to rip any but why do you guys always use wick never a solder sucker uh it's much quicker just to wake it off takes a few seconds foxy says hi dan hello foxy and thank you for the dono all right get a q-tip where's my alcohol there we go oh we're actually missing a pad this is probably going to be unconnected i'll switch it back to the board view as you guys can see right here one of the pads went missing right here the second from top right it happens sometimes when you're wicking it but the thing is if you look at the board view right here it's this pad it's unconnected so nothing happens pretty much no power going to that uh and if you place a chip on top of it nothing will nothing will go wrong probably because of my aggressive wicking you're right he can also bench about 285 pounds lewis and i have uh always have a friendly competition to see who can bench more so let's switch back to the microscope so put some more lewis amounts of flux on there and i'm going to grab a new mux chip which we do sell on raw store.rostergroup.com i came here for dan i hear dan voice but i still see same crappy louis soldering [Music] for all you know maybe lewis is doing the uh board repair check the schematic quickly see the orientation who benches more uh it's pretty close i think lewis's pr is a little bit higher than mine currently only a little bit though way too much flux i don't know how paul does it goes through one tuba flux per two years i've probably run through a tuba flux in i don't know like i'm two months i'm gonna lower this so what i like to do again is just line the chip up a little bit higher and then just lower it down and just press it into place you'll feel it move kind of with the pads here we go and do the lewis special put a little bit more flux let's go ahead and let me just move this rubber mat over to cpu just in case we're just going to slowly heat this from about like an inch away and then move closer once that flux melts and you'll see like waves of flux coming out from under it that's usually when you'll see the chip pop into place oh see and you saw it move a little bit might have covered it with the hot air station i see a lack of zhubufka on your stream actually one of my favorite polish alcohols there we go we don't want to overheat this once again it's in between cpu and gpu so let me go ahead and use our rapid cool technology i'm actually going to let it cool off a little bit first let this cool off in front of it let's see if lewis has any thermal paste he does that's perfect this thermal paste looks 100 years old and i'm gonna let this cool off in front of the fume extractor and then we're going to test it with that screen we fixed oh i think we use the arctic arctic thermal paste pretty sure it's donald lewis has zachary with a very interesting donation yeah the mx-4 arctic thermal compound it's really nice great description and voice for doing these videos great job dan thank you so much yeah we like to call this rapid cooling technology putting it in front of the uh fume extractor let's see if there's any thermal paste in here oh there is go ahead and put some on there [Music] just for testing purposes don't really want to have a heat sink with no thermal paste can you point to the chip on the board it's tiny it's right here in between cpu and gpu really hard to see maybe i can raise it yeah can't really see it i'm going to grab that heat sink it's going to clean it off quickly because it has the old thermal paste comes off really easily though just take some bounty trust me you think if you think that's a lot of thermal pace you haven't seen some of the logic boards that we've seen here i'm gonna go ahead where's the boss oh louis is out in office doing something else i've had the pleasure of doing a stream does it have fan spin it should uh i was definitely taking more than one amp when we fixed the board that thermal pace will spread itself nicely oh it's fine i want to make sure that's extra cool let's go ahead and put those heatsink back on don't look at me yeah most of these macbooks run hot we got a lot of people that send them in saying it's overheating but who knew macbooks just run hot go ahead and finish putting this on we're gonna put a new lcd cable on as well because the connector was burnt hello cine yeah it was pretty funny when i uh first started working here and then everyone's like oh wow you're polish your polish and then end up being like six polish people working here okay i'm gonna have i have a new lcd cable ready we also sell these go ahead and screw this in as well screws running away from me there we go okay and let's go ahead and test our repairs and see if they work i hope it does just going to grab the screen how often did you find this kind of fix till now oh we have these pretty often i'd say i probably see these like once like personally from my own queue i see these like once every two weeks probably drunk macbook soon barely barely confident enough to do sober macbook hopefully you guys can see this should be plugged in okay let's plug this in and see if it turns on we have 20 volts should pop up to 1 amp soon there we go 1.2 amps and our screen is not turning on so i'm gonna go ahead and grab a test screen just to make sure this is turning on at all and i'll be right back i find the lack of fans disturbing yeah i'd have to put it back into the customer's housing to get fan spin it's definitely turning on though oh there we go we have image i think this is the customer screen yep i think the lcd cable might have not been in plugged in properly but you see the customers screen uh we have image it'll boot eventually but it's probably gonna boot very slow with without trackpad battery and all that good stuff connected so hello patcher so i'm gonna go ahead and unplug this and that's how we fix the 1707 with no image no power move this customer screen back to the housing yep so one more time just to run down what we did on this board customers spilled liquid in their device well in their bag got into the wing of the board all around the left side here probably have to clean this off it's pretty dusty we replaced this cd but we also noticed the screen connector was burnt uh on their screen so we replaced that connector as well and went ahead as a precaution and replaced the mux which is under the heatsink uh yeah so that's pretty much it this turns on i'm gonna go ahead and let lewis have his desk back i'll switch back to the camera hope you guys enjoyed hopefully i didn't do too bad for my first video and i hope you learned something today
