[Music] all right guys number two this is dom let's look at his 62. [Music] [Music] friday dom this is an absolute beast so have this in here for the second walk around um this could take some topping i reckon this is an absolute beast of a thing we've seen a brief look at this down at the rover beach pool um unfortunately we didn't get to see too much driving because of other things that happened that weekend um [Laughter] so it's obvious it's a y62 um let's just go straight into it let's go from the ground up let's start with wheels and tires all right so i've got method racing uh three one seven eight by nines uh they're on a pos 18 offset running the bfg 35s mud terrains so it gives a bit of an aggressive stance always run bfgs and all my builds love them they're just a solid tire been been good good tire for you love them yep it's a bit of flacking industry about them i've never had a problem with them yep yeah they just go hard so i absolutely love them uh brakes and everything's untouched because the patrol brakes are actually pretty solid uh we find even with near full ton it pulls up pretty quickly yeah so that's what you run about four close to four yes unloaded 3.5 with myself fully loaded car ready to go touring full time that's one of the things that you'll see through this later on this vehicle is set up to tour very very comfortably and obviously if he wants to tackle the tracks it's kitted out for that as well so that's what we love because we love to um you know spend a good time you know in our cars four-wheel driving and hard wheeling um but also living out of them which is it's a fine line sometimes trying to get into the balance there um suspension let's go well let's yeah let's go suspension so what's what's what's happening uh it's all standard hbmc hydraulic system that nissan has so it's untouched it has been repressurized a little bit to support the weight um it's running an untracked two inch lift which is basically lower control arms uh which is just mounted up to lift it up by two inches and everything else in the front is untouched the rear that you'll probably see a bit later is running billet rear arms uh with the full spring lift as well as it was two inches in the rear but it gives it a really nice cushy drive the hydraulic system keeps it stabilized because it doesn't run sway bars this vehicle it is completely ifs and irs as well so a little bit new technology yeah um and yeah cds all around and so far touch wood snack one but yeah look they're pretty solid for what they are can be a vulnerable a vulnerable part definitely definitely can be if you decide to go jump it like a gu patrol over the trucks uh yeah you're gonna snap something yeah quickly so if you learn to crawl and uh drive properly and respect it you should be fine yeah what brand of your arms your billet arms so they're on track made by andrew out in victoria so he's gone through the whole engineering aspect of the the works and he does it all in house as well so he does all the diff drops he does all the rear arms he does the front arm so these days now with the y62 platform they've gone into doing a spring lift as well as running the lower control arm lifts i chose a lower control arm just to keep it basically plush when i'm driving and touring in between tracks but when you do go to the tracks wheels pretty well yeah without having to have all that other suspension compartment three done to it do they specialize in 62 and instead yep that is yeah you're right so like four by four dna dash uh our top with dash off road yep south australia ebay started it back in the day as well with the 62 platform and then andrew's also been one of the guys doing in the background as well and yeah he's probably the most recognized in the 62 market now for these sort of builds and so is here four by four dean and sa yep i know those guys are fully booked for months on end now yeah all around australia so yeah yeah it's pretty impressive what else is going on under there underneath we've got no doubts yeah so definitely bash plates uh that's by dash off road yep which one he makes in-house so that goes basically from the front with the rhino batteries all the way through protecting your mage components uh underneath there as well so that's all being done obviously you've got your sliders um so they're bigger sliders made going to south australia big o four by four yeah that's called the deluxe one so it's got a bit of a front and rear kicker um it's it's perfectly designed for the pos 18 offset uh basically oh yeah so there are ones if you want a zero offset um i know the boys so that that roll there is basically aligned perfectly for here so if you're working here nice and rotten push away yeah there is like listening to that thing reversing here there's an exhaust or even coming down the street there is definitely an exhaust on it sounds incredible so it's just a cat-back manta exhaust it's mild steel so um some of the resonators mufflers we've removed just to have a bit more of a nice note um i do want to go down the route of doing the full headers and tuning at that point just due to the fact that you spend a lot of money on tune and i was going to sit on the fence with it to supercharge it or go down the route of turbo charging yeah um but that's now for another deal with control probably yeah later in the year so yeah that sounds like we might keep that in youtube we'll focus on this one first what else we got long range tanks no this one i was going to go long range decided not to the reason is i run an air tank underneath the rear of the car yep so basically where the spare wheel used to sit it's got a 11 liter airbag man air tank yeah it runs off the compressor will go through a bit later uh that just helps keep the airbag system in the back of the car touched up at all times and i can adjust it with inside the vehicle to keep the pressures set where i want yeah so if i'm turning heavy loads you know lighting it up if i'm going to go wheeling pretty hard i want to reduce that you know back pressure i can adjust it all on the fingers so it makes life pretty easy yeah but you know long range i was thinking about it fuel prices what is the what is the standard size tank in these 140 so it's 100 oh wow plus you get 40 liter auxiliary um they will yell at you until you're running out of fuel you can drive on zero with these for another 150 k's before you're actually going to run out yeah right so you're saying that with experience yeah northern territory going past a couple of different places like milo and all those yeah the surface closed i was right on the fine needle heading into cooper pd and uh driven zero for about 50 k's and rolled in and filled it up i only filled up 120 liters that's right yeah yeah you could have made it back yeah exactly right i think auxiliary tank yeah i love it but it's 280 leaders in total then you're going to sit with um to fill it up in today's market you're talking close to 400 bucks now yeah so it's a lot of money yeah it's a lot of money i like to drink so yeah probably not the best thing now do you notice just on that do you notice if you don't drive it like you want to drive it do you notice it uh less of an increase in fuel yeah also depends on the load so if i'm just going to drive around it's not a daily but if i was going to drive it around i didn't have the water tanks and everything's completely filled up um you were sitting around 18 to 19 litres per hundred this is with the rooftop tent and everything going on there as well this one currently sits at 20 liters per hundred if i'm absolutely flogging it you'll go up to 24.25 quite easily uh but all day every day for me it's 20 liters per hundred yeah all right we'll move around to the front now it doesn't it's a sexy looking bar it doesn't really look like a bar doesn't offer a huge amount of protection but it is very nice it's like i'm a big fan of these um you know more aggressive but like with the body lines and whatever just sexy looking bars in fact i wish the company would develop one for a ge patrol no one wants to develop them because they're not a dual cab and they're not selling thousands of them out of like brand new factories so no one wants to develop them but like all these cars that are coming out with these bars it just makes me incredibly jealous it's good i mean it's obviously just a bar replacement and also known as a winch bar pretty much um obviously in a hard hit with a kangaroo or something like that it's not going to offer the best protection uh i'm fully aware of that the hooped bars for these cars apart from the animal off-road one it's for the only one i do like um but all the other ones before that the arb summits and all those they're great bars they're just really heavy yep uh and these cars are funny and you don't want to go too heavy with them with all the motor and everything that's already in there yeah so i decided to go with the rhino evolution series by front bar i found it really follow the lines of the bonnet oh it serves absolutely it retains all the factory washers that comes out all the sensors everything and the adaptive cruise control so you don't lose any of those functionalities at all from the series five um and then obviously it's got the integrated light bar which is made by rhino it's seriously bright and you've got the slide up with the carbon winch yeah nice nice yeah you've got your two so that's that's that's my stuart ali that is alex yeah do they only do alley bars i believe so yeah yeah i believe so so yeah this is obviously um recovery points for these as well uh with the winch you've got your front dashboard there as well uh you've got your hijacked lift points as well just the fog lights they're integrated to the led the daytime running lights as well as the vehicle yeah just another thing that i really liked about yeah so it just gives that nice presence on the road when you're driving down the street absolutely and it's yeah it's nice like you've got a pretty like a brand new car you don't want to lose all these features that that's why these cars are so nice because they've got all these extra features so to buy a second hand sorry an aftermarket a bar and it just cancels all them it's like well why do i you know you want to you still want the features you do and also you want to work properly a lot of these bars you do get if the camera you know you can't see where you're going yeah cruise controls gets faulty the sensors throw out codes every 10 seconds so the whole point of this build was to make sure it retained all the battery features that you paid to have on a car uh and not losing for the sake of the look of the vehicle so yeah yeah i like you i like your mentality there it's a good way to be everything blacked out on this thing it's like super super sexy yeah it's um yeah does it they come with chrome i hate chrome yep um we're the same ronnie tom there's a fair few bits and pieces i might want to come around here i reckon there's a fair bit going on there's little hoses hanging off your bar um i can straight away see your air outlet yep super convenient right there it is yeah it makes life pretty easy to pump the tires off um aib twin correct yep what else we got on you obviously we've got a single wheel it's a full 35 yep um just one spare just one step what did you do when you went remote did you take another spare or no i didn't i just sort of ran the risk a little bit yeah to see how it was all going to go yep um dye repair kit yeah everything's in there as well so i could plug up the tire if i had to yeah obviously with my terrains you can get away with it pretty easily um if i've debated the tyre i've got the air compressor kit and the air tank to put a bit more force into it but yeah i've just run the one um would i run two maybe it depends on how remote i go if i'm by myself uh which i was in the previous trip so yeah it's a bit tricky yeah oh yeah and it's a lot of weight like a 35 on it on a steel wheel yeah it does help you a little bit it helps a little bit but it does get heavy yeah i mean look you've still got two jerry's in the back which i use for water yep so you've got 40 litres there so it's a bit of weight i guess when you've done your you've blown one spare out yep and you don't have another spare at least you've got water to stay alive exactly right yeah plenty of food in the fridge [Laughter] um yeah so what else we got so obviously you've got first of all to raise the rear bar of that we've got an airport that goes through here uh and then that runs all the way through to the back side with another air hose on the other side if you have to use the one yep and you've got the water inlet that comes around to a hose that's connected back to tyre over here yep that's basically for when i'm cooking you can use it to rinse stuff out you can use it to wash the car off if you really wanted to if you go surfing or anything you want to wash yourself off that's what it's there for us wash your feet off before you get in the tent yeah that's plumbed into a main 40 litre water tank that's built into the drawer system at the back and then i've got these two here uh this is actually got an inbuilt pump into it it's made by a company called ontap so it just plugs into the 12 volt socket over here that hose plugs into the side bit over here and then i've actually got another 20 liters that's pumped yep uh automatically and then the front runner one i'll just manually use that to yeah wash up stuff yeah pour it into a bucket or if you want to in there you keep it right you can fill it all up yeah by law you're not really allowed to have two stairs of these on the rear with petrol in it uh in australia you can run it with diesel because it's obviously a lot less chance of igniting yeah but petrol different story so without running the risk and getting pulled over i have water in both of those so if the cop really wants to try it you can put his finger in there and smell it or taste it but it's water yeah it's your finger out of your water exactly right yeah um so then from there onwards again keep all the factory features we've got the reverse camera there you've got all your reverse sensors down here you've got your rear led reverse lights as well um yeah from here basically [Applause] so with all that open um this is just a sand flag that i haven't taken off from previous trip so that's there you've also got the rear of the car and then you've got the clothes that's hiding in the back over here as well so yeah it keeps going nice and neat and tidy um and then you've also got your shovel and stuff at the back uh just yet if you get yourself in a real bad situation you'll need that extra help um on the back of the tire normally one four max tracks i was just about to say i can't see any maxis yeah so that's why on the back here um you've got this rail over here so basically that's left on so i've just got a bit that slides on you're nice bolted ready to go well i was going to jump in and have a look inside there but we're at the back here let's have a let's pop the tailgate because i know there's a fair bit going on here and dom is very he loves cooking he loves his food and um after you see this you'll be pretty impressed with the setup and it looks schmick run us through all right so draw system was made by black label solutions in western australia by a bloke called jonathan um amazing work i saw the concept first by um a bloke out who makes a youtube channel called four drive adventures in camp and i think it is uh and his name's braden so i'll show that to you brayden but he basically came up with the original concept of this so i took it and i changed a couple of things and ran with it so um the whole setup was to have space on top here where you can still fit your bags put everything you need to do have all your utensils and things up there and then obviously i've got the solar blanket which connects into the black anderson plug connection here from here i've got basically a pantry setup which is 100 percent needed but uh yeah so that's just your coffees your sprays your cooks you know all those little bits and pieces so that was just for your general cooking um the bottom was to be basically my full-time recovery sort of gear first aid kits jacks type repair kits uh jumper cables winch anything you can think of basically i just wanted to having one easy to access sort of draw um the biggest thing as well with the build was to be able to have just the one single watch so you can just use one hand if you've got something yeah it makes life so much easier definitely in here just got some pots and pans bits and pieces for the travel buddy oven um and this is all induction cooktop friendly yup which we'll get two in a second as to why you need to have that um so that's again where i keep most of my cooking stuff and then i think just seems like it's it's just like you can just feel it's not gonna rattle when you're pressing down the road on a corrugated it just feels nice only the rattles in this car is the bushman fridge when it's empty uh you just got the bits and pieces inside the rattle um you're talking about the fridge it's a bushman 85 litre stand-up fridge so with the 15 liter freezer so yeah these little things they do get a bit rattling there's no weight on the molding exactly right so i don't run this the whole time i normally keep it off and spaced open just so it doesn't have any mold or anything like that so it's mainly just for when i go touring or for a weekend so have you have you ran the um standard chest you know your angle or your waco your standard ones you have around them before and now you're running up right yep a quick version on both we absolutely love the object uh weight saving is a big thing it's very economical as well this runs at 2.5 amps per hour once it's at the set temperature um i used to have the big 80 liter on a drop down slide the slide costs more than the fridge and the weight is nearly 50 kilos yeah they have all loaded these are i don't know about under 20 kilos at least um they're pretty pretty light um i would and people always say does food fall out that's going to be my next question i've bashed off sand dunes and uh gone pretty vertical then no nothing falls out as long as you pack it properly like anything yeah it won't fall out yeah but i mean there's pros and cons for everything that's just like with the chest fridge forever digging through it i think that would eliminate a little bit of that with an upright exactly right the food is perfect now with drinks i do have a secondary fridge in the back um which is a 45 litre test bridge so that's mainly all the drinks going yeah the reason is the one downside to these fridges is on a really hot 40 degree day when you open it a lot of that cool air is just racing out yeah okay so by closing it you're trying to catch up on it cooling down yeah chest bridge uh particularly the ones that cool on the sides they're always going to stay cold so i find we don't have an issue with that that's one downside to these products yeah never thought about that actually so um that's the only thing i don't like about it but apart from that obviously the size it is bigger but if you were to put a drop down slide and everything here you lose the space so behind this bridge is actually the 40 litre water tank and storage on top of that tank so when you're building this you've got all the extra storage facilities at the back of the depths in there the depth and exactly right where if you're on an 80 liter dometic or something like that it's going to take up that whole area plus you've got to drop it down on the slope you've got it yeah you've got to get it out so you can actually get to the thing exactly so that's why i wanted that and the reason is for that is to basically have your prep cable that comes out here and then from the prep table induction cooktop so dual hob made by safari also made by westinghouse and uh it's 2 000 watts safe which runs off the redarc 2001 inverter yep um basically so these um you can't run them at 100 both of them can you no so what i will do if you want to run both at 100 it'll fluctuate so i'll turn this one on for okay five seconds at 100 this one for the five seconds 100 it'll just work between you can run 60 and 40. yep yep exactly right and like because you like cooking yep happy with it love it absolutely love it yeah you can boil water on this within five less than five minutes uh it beats my jet foil back in the day it beats uh any electric or gas stove top or anything like that you're not losing heat no you're not with a gas burner like you know oh like people would love to call it gas but like a gas burner doesn't take much of a breeze to push that heat and you'll be there forever just to boil some water or whatever this is yeah it's it's a game changer it's got to happen for for me too i think because yeah i mean this is 90 efficiency i believe you look at the website the stats and stuff like that gas is like 30 efficiency uh then you've got your electricity which is like 50 efficiency so people always ask does it use a lot of battery yes it does use a lot of battery but your cooking is so much faster um yeah i can literally do burgers on this within five minutes have it all fried done onions the work turn it off done no bacon and eggs you can do within five minutes you know so it speeds up the whole process because obviously it's using that magnetic base to to hold down on there um and yeah i mean as long as you've got the right battery system to run it that's the most important part of induction yeah now very nice that is a there's a lot of detail like off detail going into that setup what do we got over here a few switches oh yeah so on this side here first of all we've got this one uh this is a cy marine it runs basically or monitors the whole battery system for me in the vehicle that connects to my phone so some of your redarc um you know systems revisions and all that yeah i can be on you know driving down the road check what my battery's doing how much amps it's using if i have solar connected it will tell me what the charge of solar is so basically it runs all that information um you've got like you know biographs and other aspects to them which i really like how many days you've got for your battery to be used yep so it's a neat bit of kit it's a nice it's a nice display it's quite streamlined and quite slick looking and also just the the cost aspect of it um i love redarc and i love those products that are very expensive to set up properly with the cymarine it is relatively cheap you don't have anything near as much functionality as the red vision yeah so obviously you've got to give and take those yep same as this you know this is an old-school analog road power switch it controls everything in the car yeah what's the what are the eight switches here so the eight switches you've got your rock lights so they'll turn on the lights on the side of the vehicle yep um you've got your main fridge here you've got your water pump um which runs the hose here behind me you've got your glow which is for the travel buddy oven there you've got your auxiliary battery uh that's to run your power points here including your fast charger for your phone yep and everything as well beer which is to run the secondary beer i like that switch the best yeah that's my favorite one the one that pops the most the attention is i i honestly could not find a sticker for it the zombie now what the that basically is for the antenna that pops up for this hellfire go mobile phone booster so for remote travel uh that turns it on for me to get reception areas but you don't normally have it yeah but that's basically that system and then on this side i've got the redarc inverter on and off switch that's basically you're powering up and then you've got the safari overhead light so that controls by touch all of that including your ambers and you can dim the lights you know as bright as you want and as bim as you want really yeah right nice looking light actually yeah it's very very cheap as well like a hundred dollars for that yeah um it's very well priced uses absolutely no power as you can see it's only pulling 0.72 amps yeah so yeah you can leave it on all night no stress turn it off and you've got you know you know around a few bugs yeah yeah yeah absolutely love that yeah nice mate very nice what have you got one two one one yep so i've got one 200 amp hour dcs battery um with built-in bms so you can review it all on your phone see how it's all going um it's got every bloody circuit breaker everything you can think of for safety all built into it as well so and then runs up a zero gauge cable uh cable from the front of the vehicle all the way through the back of a victron argo fit uh so charges direct from the alternator straight through to the dcs so i'll get 100 to 120 amps to charge uh per hour while driving yeah i can i can pull up use 50 of my battery drive for one hour and it's fully charged that's yeah that's pretty good way better than dcs dc dc and dc vc charging i find those ones you're limited to 40 amps per hour of income uh in charge with this one you can run straight to yeah 120 hours right full charge yep very nice um should we move inside around this side to the passenger door all right so on this side here now the boys would have seen when they came on a trip with me built a platform to go in the back and i did the rear seat delete um i've since taken that out i used to have a stand-up journey watson whatever it's called slide out pantry but at the moment i'm running the secondary view fridge which just sort of sits there um that's an ebay special i bought four years ago it doesn't die it just seems to work non-stop so that's basically what i run there the 3d smart floor mats so you can basically take those out pressure wash them um yeah they're awesome for your your mud sand all those bits and pieces makes cleaning good fit too well it looks right yeah they're really really good um these cars the tio models got the rear dvd screens with uh infrared headphones i've never used them hence why it's still got the standard stickers yeah in there um and then i've obviously got the one seating at the moment um but in the back of the vehicle so you've got the false floor so underneath the fall board runs the uh 2000 watt redirect inverter that's where it also houses the solar controller the twin arb compressor and all your brake is your circuits your water line your pumps the cabling underneath the car the road power system the travel body oven 40 litre water tank pumps and that's all there yeah so you can see if you have a look down the side you can have a look at all the batteries and stuff hiding down in there watch that battery way do you know off top of your head probably 15 kilos it's not heavy at all it's incredible for you here's my old giant 200 amp hour battery that was like 47 kilos so yeah they're very light yeah still got some more room on top of your water tanks if you needed to put another bag sure yeah then same as throughout the car uh wood grain delete so gone and did a carbon wrapping there on the side yeah it comes with wood grain again i hated it couldn't stand it so i have to delete that thing so wood grain delete there you have it folks never use such a thing let's move into the front i've already had a little bit of peak in there it all looks pretty like that's what i like about this build is it's not um just bulking crap onto the inside of your dash and just slapping these things together like i like a build that just looks standard pretty well looks looks like factory um going from the front bar right through this build it's sticking the boxes for me so far let's jump in here and have a look all right so obviously the front of the vehicle um the biggest thing for me what nick was saying i didn't want anything on the windscreen i didn't want to have you know all your garmin maps all those things hanging off the front of the car that was something i wanted to stay away from and keep it as neat as i possibly can um with these patrols they come with a candlelight yellow crappy interior light it's terrible including your floodlights and stuff down here as well so all of those have been changed to the steady led ones inside just gives it a nice bright light um yeah inside the vehicle i've got the ultra gauge this guy over here that's to basically keep an eye on the trans temperature engine temperature any fault codes i can clear them the biggest thing with modern cars these days if you get a fault um you don't have a scan gauge you can go into limb mode if you're thousands of cases from the next town to be able to clear that code and game over you know sorry that is a necessity for me i need to have that in there keep an eye on all the temperatures um you can change anything you want on it also running the 35s um i'm pretty close to the actual true speed measurement these vehicles come with a 10 difference from factory yeah so if you get 100k you're actually really going 1991 kilometers an hour so with the 35s it gets close to being true then this runs of a gps system to actually give you your truth yeah nice um and then from inside obviously the wood grain delete again so literally all this around here anything that's carbon yep that was a lot of wood grain in here it's a lot of regrets it's uh it's it's ridiculous amount of wood grain yeah so that's all being deleted out um and then from there basically you've obviously got the gme xrs handheld just in a place where it's easy it's out of the way it's not hanging on the dash yep um and then basically the center console over there i've got the air on board kit so um there's a gauge in there for airbag man including two switches yeah nice that's not nice isn't it yeah it just basically sits nice and flush that is cool i mean that little spot there really all you can put in that was a red bull can that's all it was really designed for so the boys was that was that like a that was a small cut so the boys are four by four dna they basically developed things to be made up a little bit for it so that basically has the the gauge to keep an eye on my airbag pressures i can adjust them down i can dust them up on the fly on the fly yeah so and then with that you've also got you know your air compressor switch through here you've got your tow pro elite redarc um your trailer brakes you've got your front locker so i run a harrop e front locker in this uh including the factory rear locker now the rear locker i run an override kit which basically stops you from when you go over a certain kilometer i think it's 10ks with the factory diff it'll actually unlock um which is stupid yeah so the override locker kit allows you to constantly stay locked rear and front so it makes an absolute weapon on the track yeah or having that twin lock system um and then obviously the heated and cooled seats which comes factory with this vehicle yep uh the cooled seats in hot weather i bet uh same as the factory ones of these cars the center console is a refrigerator as well so um you've got basically three three fridges so um yeah you can chuck bits and pieces in there which is uh nice and easy no temperature it probably goes down to maybe five degrees yeah it runs off the air cold enough for a cold beer so it opens up from the back end nice as well so nice and easy that is a great idea yeah i'm not gonna have kids or anything like that but uh you could use it for that actually i shouldn't be drinking beer anywhere no and then on this side here i've just had a couple of switches to control the front uh spotlights and the led on the box yeah yeah so that's all nice and simple yeah it's very tidy all right john let's go oh actually we've missed this like that is this probably says it all like we've walked around this car already a couple times we haven't really seen it but subtle it is yeah five inch five inch yeah so made by fab widths um it's a five inch snorkel it is incredible induction noise um it's it's actually borderline obsessed with how good it sounds i prefer more than the exhaust note that sometimes um yeah it sucks pretty damn hard and uh it sounds tidy like it's it's big it's it's huge but it looks in proportion to the car yeah i just wanted to make it look a little bit more seamless absolutely i think you've done a good job with that that's for sure so yeah absolutely love it [Music] fabrics tablets your aerial sitting over here yeah so it's nice and tidy stumpy one little stumpy one yep do you run the big one on trip or you know just run that yeah um i find to be honest it's pretty pretty good yeah um yeah the position of it that's a voguing industries mount yep um it's nice and flush it just sits on the uh you don't even notice in the car to be honest when you're driving you don't even know what's there you don't see it i guess it's right behind your pillow is it exactly right um it's thick and you know solid to the fact that if you're going down a pretty tight shrub um you don't have to worry about it snapping or anything like that at all oh and let's be honest it's a solid it's a thick and solid car same with the snorkel everything's just in proportion it's gonna be in proportion yeah yeah i mean you can go the taller ones the biggest thing for me was again just keeping a little slim line get a little bit neat i find with the 2.1 i think that's what that one is they're honestly really good you get a good amount of range out of them um yeah if you start going to real mountain based areas yeah okay you might lose a little bit of well that will actually be better in a mountain basically actually yeah than long range sorry but yeah if you're on the nullarbor you probably would benefit from your longer one but yeah you know generally it's convoy shutter exactly right it is and you're not going to be 30 k's away from the convoy no not at all you know so unless you've got a defender in the convoy no very very tidy vogue does some nice stuff hey yeah they do yeah longie is doing some pretty pretty awesome things uh he's yeah uh patrol is awesome yeah he's done a custom body kit in it all so he runs big big sevens it's a pretty envious silver yeah but um yeah they do some good stuff all right moving up yep literally front runner rack that's what it's all sitting on it is so i've run in front runner in all the builds i've ever done yep um i just love the fact that it is sturdy it keeps its off-road rating that's what the on-road rating is as well yeah um i've never had a problem with it the accessories are endless before you run out of you know accessories you can mount to them so yeah it's all front runner uh done there as well uh which is not very common with the patrols i think i'm one of like modding and 10 people that run the front runner on these yeah a lot of other people run the rhino racks x trails and all those which i like them but i prefer these yeah a lot more um the what about what what i want to call this the rails or rails side rails or whatever they are do you say look good like yeah then same with mass hylux um you would have seen on the previous walk around they just look nice having that it follows the line on the vehicle as well yeah um from the front to the back yeah it does compliment the car i'm originally from south africa so any south african concern yeah that's what i've got how you can i've got uh these things so i was born and raised there so i like to support the country stuff they seem to make some pretty good things so yeah um but then on from that obviously i've got the front runner uh awning brackets from there i'm running the ali cab shower cube yep um so that's obviously just the showers inside of the road campsites whatever it is yep and on the side you've got what are they the steady body what yeah there's any rock lights i decided to put them on top do you if you are doing like a little bit it doesn't even have to be like full-on wheeling like you can just be doing like a a nice track but you still want some some side light exactly right nice up there it is yeah it is yeah um not as much as you can get down the bottom um so for spotters it might be a little bit difficult but i like them up from there mainly it is for cam cam yeah front runner shovel the ratchet shovel mounts on the back they're bloody great solid little units nice and easy easy convenient while we're over here well let's go with lights first let's go live let's go lights so these are steady pro or type x pros yep um they are very bright uh insane especially for yes uh it's overkill it uses a lot of power um you almost want to have the vehicle running when you want to turn them on yeah you know all too well with the um the bar designs yeah it's uh it's pretty intense um i absolutely love steady they make fantastic products at a reasonable price yeah they are quite quite affordable yeah um you do have the covers for them i used to have the covers on it's one thing i don't like about steady to put the covers on and off it's a nuisance yeah okay sorry i find it to be a bit of a pain so i just left them up yeah yeah rooftop tent yep so rooftop tent um it's a drifter stockton wildland 1.2 meter wide mattress-based rooftop tent so they do a 1.4 and 1.2 yep i could have got 1.4 but again proportions was the biggest thing in this vehicle um it's extra weight on top of the roof as well which i didn't want to do so it is a very light roof rooftop tent i think it's about 67 kilos yeah hard shell very slim line it has nowhere near as much drag as my old king's rooftop tent used to have so many i know i know don't don't shoot me the second kings product you're gonna start from the bottom and hit yourself here but no i absolutely love the rooftops um yeah again you can mount a lot of accessories to them they are solid on top as well my partner and i um we're watching the sunset at airs rock yep both standing up there uh yeah you know with the chair on the top having a drink and uh does not buckle just because they're old yeah it is seriously strong seriously strong up there so plenty of accessories you could add you could put the you know solar panels you can mount bikes up there whatever you really want to do um but again you just got to be restrictive of how much weight you want to put on your roof how long to play the setup i reckon you can get this set up in about under two minutes um yeah one minute if you really wanted to it was bucking with rain and you were just pushing so there are clam shells sideways exactly so it pops open sideways and then from the inside it folds out like that yep pops up open so um yeah the only downside to this tent i would say like most rooftop tents is wind noise um i got caught in about 30 knot winds one night on the beach it does get a bit rattly yeah okay um that i think like the mo top ones that i looked at previously they all seem to georgia so yeah uh but yeah i just it's still a lot better than your typical the first rooftop tennessee on the market with the fold out flat yeah oh mate yeah and that's what i don't like about it you know so there's nothing slim line that matches the the ray section of having the awnings on both sides um it just all sort of works well too yeah yeah it all links in nicely done exactly that's what i wanted and also for me to get into my garage at home it's 2.5 minute roof the garage yep plus the opening it fits in with about a hundred mills spare yeah nice so yeah it's it's not too bad at all yep um moving around yep we're getting there bush company awning it is so a 180 xt freestanding awning yep um i absolutely love it again not the cheapest thing on the market there are other competitors now like bushwacker that do very similar ones this half price again sticking to my south african roots yep i went this option and i haven't looked back um yeah it's it's super quick to set up you could probably do this within 30 seconds by yourself um yeah freestanding up to 20 knots of wind no problem as soon as it gets over 20 you can tie down two anchor points or you can use uh two supporting legs if you really have to and they they have legs incorporated no so this is completely no legs at all oh yeah yeah you have to buy those separately they basically are designed to just stand by themselves i've only used the legs once before and that was when we're getting over 25 knots of wind yeah and uh shouldn't really have an awning up by that stage but yeah sometimes it's nice to have when it's raining yeah yeah for sure but yeah so obviously really really thick um rip stop canvas protection that's had a bit of a beating through some of the tight narrow shrub areas and uh pretty good yeah it hasn't ripped nothing at all i've had previous ones of this that have ripped pretty quickly yep um and the zips is solid that's one thing i hate oh awning covers the zips clunky zips on anything like that yeah that's why i hide the zip to the back so yeah you drive all the wind noises out that way yeah the same thing they tinker around kills you on there is that noise well dom i reckon we walked around a couple times i think we pretty well licked it i think so it's um super impressive vehicle oh thank you appreciate it so dom just told us before that he's actually sold this vehicle yeah um someone picking it up next week yeah about a week or two time here from victoria um so lucky we got in and had a look at this because it's a super very impressive rig um if you're selling this and you've only had it for more six months six months you must seriously enjoy the process of going through and building a vehicle i do i like torture um yeah i've i've missed the salesman all the time i've got a problem and i do have a problem um i get bored of things pretty quickly my attention stand is zero but yeah i enjoy the process of building something i enjoy planning i enjoy you know going from point a to point b when i get to point b no matter how epic the ability sometimes i just go all right i've done that now what can i do next yeah and how can i move it on and let someone else enjoy the vehicle that i've built so what is next so what's next um it's another patrol nice uh another til model this one however is going to be on top of this by another mile it's going to be chopped and extended by dmw up in queensland ruben's doing that up there for me so it's 450 mule chassis extension um we'll be running four inch lift 37's um both diff drops front and rear lockers all those sort of things and a full canopy setup um on the rear reason for that is the wagons as you probably know as well there's limitations to absolutely how much you can tour with them um you know my whole aspect is to go travel around australia and to have a canopy system with jack sorry that's like i'll say jackal flakes liftoff legs um makes life a lot easier if you want to do the hard real wheeling tracks you can just lift that weight off the back immediately almost exactly you know you're dropping 700 kilos in the blink of an eye you've got your base cam set up as well that was one of the biggest things for me that i wanted to go obviously you know people say i want to go 79 i wanted to do this and you know i don't like any of the dual cabs in the market i'm not a huge fan of them they're pretty underpowered for what they are i love this platform i love the motor that comes in them they just drive really well um so that's the whole reason i wanted to go into the yeah you know doing that and we're still going to run all the induction cooktops two fridges but it'll be on another level yeah it'll be uh a bit more time and money spent on that build um so i'm looking forward to it yeah when's this kicking off starts off first of september that's when it starts getting chopped and should have it back by hopefully just before christmas the end of the year beautiful we'll see you just for christmas [Laughter] yeah looking forward to it mate it's um after seeing this and you're saying it's going to be above and beyond this so hopefully it definitely will be yeah i've already started uh doing spreadsheets and working calculations out and i've got a bit overboard with what i'm doing for the next so one question for you before we let you go um why didn't you chop this vehicle so a lot of the reasons to do with your pre-retro gvm upgrades as well as any sort of engineering work if you were to do a host region you can do it there's limitations of what you can do to how much gvm you can run to how much lift you can run the wheels you can run it's a lot of extra work you then have to get an engineer to fly up to queensland throughout the top process it makes no sense yeah it's a lot of work why yeah that's a debate for another day and that's why to do one completely pre-regio under second stage manufacturing done under federal approval which then if i sell this car chopped that hasn't been federally approved the guy buying me victoria for an instance would have to go through the whole engineering aspect again and they might not pass it you have any stuff you know so that's why i wanted to do things a bit smarter as well and for insurance for all those uh aspects of it yeah absolutely yeah you get in strife and you're not covered by insurance well then that's a lot of money down to google massively yeah yeah smart very smart well my this is yeah in my opinion this is going to be hard to beat um i just i like this this very very nice vehicle mate appreciate it thank you very much for bringing it in [Music] um [Music]
