A word to our generation: God said what He said!!!

here to help you we like to make faith-based videos to help you guys thrive in your relationship with God and grow closer to him so in today's video I just wanted to talk a little bit about just some of my thoughts and especially in regards to the next generation of Christians um at least in the west here and just like my heart and its concerns um and I think it really started with My Generation honestly could have started before that too but we have become a generation of people with itching ears to hear what we want to hear and the reason why I'm concerned is because the Bible is so counter-cultural that like at this point I mean there's just no way that you're going to be able to scave through life as a Christian with no one questioning you you're going to be questioned you're going to be seen you're going to be hated and I feel like we don't know how to be different anymore we don't know how to accept other people's differences and still stand strong and true to our own um I really feel like cancel cultures like done this as well to us and I know that people don't like to hear that because it just seems so cheesy but like it's true and we're not persecuted like they were in Bible times but it's a different kind of persecution now people getting put on blast if you stand true to your beliefs um about what the Bible says then your scene is like a horrible person the Christians in the Next Generation and Christians now are going to struggle standing strong in their faith if they don't know the Bible because they haven't even read it all they get is what they got from youth group growing up my point is people go to youth group growing up or they go to church um on Christmas or Easter they call themselves a Christian and then when they get slammed by people who have an argument that seems extremely valid we don't know what to say because we're like I don't know I'm a Christian but surely God you know we try to speak on God's behalf when we haven't read his word we don't really know what he says but we're just assuming that you know God's word isn't really that counter-cultural right when the reality is is God's word is sharper than a double-edged sword okay a Christ he didn't come to bring a false sense of Peace of oh we're all standing you know in harmony with our hands held and you know nobody's getting hurt no God gave us his word to give his truth and nowadays Our Generation the Next Generation we don't have a grasp on truth everybody has their own definition of truth what's true to you is is true what's true to me is true there's literally no truth anymore that people can perceive and I think Christians would even a lot of Christians younger generation My Generation would say what's true to you is true to you you can do your own thing and here's the thing I'm not one to tell somebody else what to do okay that's just not me can't do that but that doesn't mean I'm gonna sit here and say that there isn't truth found in here and just the last thing that I want to say in this video is a note to those of you who want to start reading your Bible or those of you who even are reading your Bible is to remember that there is only one correct interpretation of scripture there isn't a million different interpretations to get what you want to get to get what we want to get um sometimes we're uncomfortable with the stance that God takes and sometimes we say well it was written a long time ago so it's not accurate God's word stands true forever and our generation needs to figure out how to read the Bible and interpret it correctly and I don't think we're going to be able to do that if we don't understand context if we don't understand that the Bible is written by many different human authors who were speaking God's word each book is written to an audience in mind do we know that or are we just reading the text and assuming that everything we're written is for us to hear we can immediately apply it because that's dangerous we have to remember historical context there's literary context there's cultural context to the Bible like how we're not going to understand how to interpret scripture if we don't understand context and this is something that you probably weren't taught in Sunday School and it's probably made it difficult for you to let's say read the Old Testament because it feels like it's so far out of your ballpark um but it's really imperative that you understand the Old Testament in order to fully grasp the Beauty and the truth that is found in the New Testament I I worry for Our Generation because I think we do have itching ears to hear what we want to hear and I think that a lot of Prosperity gospels and churches and leaders and Cults are taking advantage of people who don't know God's word and just assume that whatever the preacher is preaching is God's word when you cannot trust people like that anymore okay I mean if you have a great Pastor I'm not telling you you know throw your pastor under the bus but I'm saying when was the last time you got into God's word yourself when was the last time you took time to look at the context of a passage before you just applied it to yourself it's dangerous if we do not do that and if you're sitting here and you're like I don't understand the importance of context like you know if God wants to share something with me God's going to share something with me but I'm not going to do that type of work and that's the other curse of our generation is we are so into instant gratification now that we can't fathom putting in work in our quiet time if it's not easy I don't want to do it if I don't feel like it I won't do it and I've been there people I have been in that trap and you miss out on so many Beautiful Moments with the Lord if you're avoiding it because it's work and we all go through droughts I've literally felt like I just I've just been thirsting for God to give me an emotional reaction to his word and I haven't had that in a long time and it's hard but that doesn't mean that we go soft on what we believe it doesn't mean that we give up it doesn't mean that we you know start looking into astrology to give us a sign or we start looking into whatever our friend's religion is to start getting us to feel something or if we are scared because God's word doesn't agree with what the culture says or what we want to say then we get soft and you know I don't know just start speaking on behalf of God when everything you wanted to say he said and gave it to us okay I'm concerned for the Next Generation I'm concerned for my generation I've seen so many people love God's word growing up and then they see what the culture has to say and they give up and they don't take time to see what is God's heart behind what he says what is the context of what he's trying to say and when you remove context from the equation when you're reading the Bible you can make any verse any passage say whatever you want to say and that is a scary place to be in because ninety percent of the people in America do not read their Bible for themselves they just listen to whatever somebody else has to say for them that is so dangerous because people nowadays aren't taking time to learn the context of a passage they aren't reading the verse in light of the chapter in light of the book in light of the entire Narrative of the Bible and so you have people believing things that are false things that are not true that sound true because it's not read in context right you can make any one sentence thing say whatever you want to say and preachers are doing that friends are saying that to friends and a lot of times people's intentions are like halfway decent but it still doesn't mean you're not twisting the word of God to hear what you want to hear and that's dangerous so if you are wanting to take your faith seriously if you are wanting to take your faith to the next level reading the Bible for yourself I want to encourage you that you can do it and don't let anybody stop you don't let don't let your life get in the way of your relationship with God because your relationship with God is going to be the most important relationship you will ever have not only on this Earth but in eternity and you're going to want to invest in what's most important right and so start today by reading your Bible and doing
