A VERY RARE 2006 CHEVROLET SSR and has my C8 Corvette arrived?

good day guys and welcome to the channel i'm about to head out to amesburg chevrolet to get my truck here serviced and uh hopefully they've got some interesting cars in the showroom that i can share with you and we'll see if we can get an update on the c8 corvette let's go hey has anybody seen my c8 no okay so my truck's in for service and i'm at the amesburg chevrolet dealership as you can see behind me here and as usual and as expected they've got a cool car sitting around they always have something here every time i come here not just the selection of new new cars but they've got always a classic car a muscle car or a exotic car of some sort and as i expected today they do have a vehicle here that i found interesting that i'm going to share with you guys and that is this 2006 chevrolet ssr pickup truck with a gorgeous color it's like a blue green color here in absolutely amazing condition these vehicles were built between 2003 and 2006 and the retro style that you see here were uh fashioned using the 47 to 55 i believe body style of their chevrolet pickups approximately 24 000 of these vehicles were sold which is intriguing because uh you know it wasn't as high as gm expected they expected to sell a lot more of these vehicles but uh my thinking is that you know when a car doesn't sell that much and and it's a little bit of a rare car like it is it just becomes more rare as time goes on so i think these vehicles are going to be sought after they already are but a lot more as they get a little older now in 2003 and four um the engines were 5.3 liter v8s the vortech engine with about 300 horsepower so not bad at all they were also in automatic or no actually they were just automatic in the first few years i believe in o5 is when they started with the manual transmissions and the big change was in o5 what's under the hood the six liter engine found in the corvette the ls2 this engine came in the trail blazer ss the pontiac gto and of course the corvette now in o5 they had 390 horsepower and then in o6 they gave it a little bump it went to 395 with the automatic and 400 with the manual transmission car which this car is so it's a 400 horsepower car now it went from seven point seven seconds in the zero to sixty in l304 to this one being a five point two nine second zero to sixty which is very respectful for a vehicle uh like this maybe it's in this office here john have you seen my c8 anywhere no sure it's not under here anywhere or anything at all and as is customary with gm uh uh performance vehicles they come with staggered wheels these are 255 19s in the front and they are 295 20s in the rear we'll take a look at the trunk here you can see it's got some nice touch in the wood strips here some side bags here for storage uh decent size i mean you can carry a decent amount in here the inside all leather interior very small cabin inside oh that's very comfortable let's fire it up a plasticky material but uh in really really good condition this uh owner obviously kept it in very good condition and what's cool about the shifters if you see the uh r for reverse it's the same as the ssr logo uh you know there are there's a nice little touch see if it's in this office have you seen my c8 i have not so i found me a volunteer that's going to show us how to take the top off this car what it looks like with the top off in my opinion a very sweet looking truck when the top's down no doubt beautiful nice mesh with the ssr on it i just drove the car back and i'm being told that it's a little more rare than i thought with this color combination and the 3lt interior 6-speed manual transmission and a ls2 motor in it there's only about 80 of these built so really really rare car i think it's time we ask the big guys if they know where it is hey mike have you seen my c8 anywhere no let's see if the parts department knows where my car is you guys seen my c8 anywhere i haven't seen your c8 sean have you seen the c8 the service is all done on the truck um a little quick update on the porsche does she look good i love this car i swear to god i love this car anyway um today we got a shipment here from fedex um the final piece of the puzzle on the last drive shaft uh if you guys remember from the video that i did when we replaced the ims bearing the drive shafts that we got for it were wrong um so i ordered two more one from a local company and one from rock auto the local company got it overnight i was a little more money but that's okay they got it here quickly the one from rock auto took almost six weeks and the reason is fedex lost the first one i ordered it and it was supposed to be here like june 15th and around well july 2nd or 3rd somewhere around there i decided to you know see what's going on as the shipping i couldn't trace it anymore it just kept saying pending pending so i contacted rock auto they did an investigation through fedex and found that the package was lost and they couldn't find it so they shipped out another one and i got it here that this one came quickly but uh you know all in all it took about six weeks to get that shaft so we still got to do the left side shaft on the car that's all that's remaining on it and i did order some new skins for it uh for the seats so the leather seats will be getting new skins in the next little bit they're making them as we speak so hopefully i get them in the next couple weeks i would think and then i can have the seats reupholstered with some new leather on them so anyway back to the video i want to thank amesburg chev for letting me do that um you know they they're good sports about it and they played along with some of my corny humor and they allow me to do that there i appreciate that very much the guys that are watching thank you um and uh while i was there i'll tell you i've seen a an older jeep and uh it's one of the owners cars and he said that he had it totally rebuilt um it was a rust bucket when he got it and i guess he's turned it into what it is now so i'm going to go back and show you guys that jeep it's mint it's in really good shape i just didn't have time to do that while i was there today so i'm going to go back there another day and have them explain to me and you guys what uh all was done on that jeep to get it to the condition that it is now um another vehicle that he showed me while i was there and i think this was kind of like a sales tactic but he showed me the new 20 20 yukon denali oh man you guys got to see this vehicle i will show you guys that vehicle when i'm there as well it is absolutely gorgeous i mean the monitors on the rear seats for your kids they're like television screens just huge like just beautiful beautiful vehicle so uh we'll make a couple of videos one for for the jeep and one for the uh yukon denali as well hopefully one of the sales guys can come up with us and explain to us everything about the vehicles because i'm not that uh educated on it but anyway i wanted to start a little discussion about the ssr the ssr that you've seen there it's not for everybody some people don't like them i personally love those cars especially because they came with the v8s unlike some other companies that tried to make some uh retro cars that uh didn't quite work out because they decided to put them on a neon body or a platform and you know a neon engine or something but ridiculous but anyway gm was uh smart enough to put some powerful v8s in them uh which is what you know a retro car should be is a v8 like they were back then so uh you know i i like those vehicles but let me uh know what you guys think in the comments below the video here um are you good with the uh the ssr do you like them or not your cup of tea let me know what you think anyway
