let's go and pop the hood like i said at the beginning of the video the 2005 ssr received quite a performance upgrade from its previous two years when it initially came out it came out with a 5.3 liter v8 putting out around 300 horsepower and then comes in 2005 with the introduction of a 6 liter v8 16 valve producing a total horsepower output of 395 at 700 rpm with a manual transmission it drops about 5 horsepower or so for the automatic transmission and 400 foot-pounds of torque at 4 000 rpm it is rear-wheel drive for the rear limited slip deferential double wishbone front suspension and a solid live axle rear suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars traction control abs is also standard and with a 25 gallon fuel tank running on regular unleaded gas it achieves an epa estimated miles per gallon rating of 14 city 18 highway and with its 116 inch wheelbase the ssr weighs around 4760 pounds which is on the heavier side but with its suspension and sport tuned handling it definitely handles its own on the road but this definitely isn't a pickup truck as you would think it is the towing capacity is only around 2500 pounds for the vehicle also found throughout the vehicle you see various retro touches that gm has placed throughout the vehicle harkening through several decades of automotive styling up top you have color mesh trim panels high gloss finish chrome door locks and the metallic silver trim that goes across the interior of the vehicle as well as down in the center console lower storage your power mirrors handle here this one also comes with the ls preferred package which include the bose audio system heated seats and so on and so forth the driver's seat is power sliding tilting with manual recline and power lumbar you do have two stage heated
