About a half dozen talks related to Haremhab.

[10:52-45:00] How and when the general became king - Jacobus Van Dijk. King Tut died unexpectedly and without children. His official heir was General Haremhab who was off fighting the Hittites and, in his absence, Ay, close advisor to the Pharaoh, managed to usurp the throne when Tut died. After Ay died, Haremhab had Ay's name and image scraped away. Tut's widow also tried to arrange a marriage between herself and a son of the Hitite king. A betrayal during the time of war, essentially offering Egypt to the Hitites. But on the way to Egypt the Hitites king's son was murdered.

[2:52:00-3:25:00] We thought tomb robbing was something thieves did but at one point the army/state was doing it and doing it much more efficiently than other thieves. But they did put the mummys in the wrong coffins and put the coffins in other caches, some of which were found by other robbers and some by other thieves calling themselves Egyptologists.. King Tut's tomb might have been the only tomb left relatively untouched. Maybe because a flood covered the opening with mud and there was no official record of its location.
