A quiet and simple life in the French countryside

[Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] as I was editing this Vlog and trying to find out what I was trying to share in this video the only word that kept coming to me was Simplicity and while I was looking at all the footage that I shot I had this really warm and grateful feeling come over me looking at my life and realizing that I am finally living a simple and slow life that I have craved for for as long as I can remember [Music] I think I've spent most of my teens and twenties trying to figure out what my purpose in life was I ended up becoming a career coach then a business coach an alignment coach and I still have that role in one way or the other with the businesses that I run it was this chasing of trying to understand life trying to know where my place was [Music] in 2015 I just had this very deep calling saying get a house in France and then when we found the house in 2018 and spend one week here because we thought it would be a holiday home I felt I needed to move here giving up everything I knew in the Netherlands and also knowing that even though my businesses are and were online my life was really going to change dramatically [Music] and the more I adopted the slow Country Life here in burgundy the more I felt that the way that I was running my businesses did not suit me anymore I started downsizing my businesses to the level where they are today where I feel comfortable and happy with them and honestly most of my days are filled with taking care of our rental business now cooking for guests making sure the cabin and the cottage look nice welcoming guests discovering new places every day still of the beautiful region that we now call home spending time with people that I've met here for work and friends that I've made just taking time to have lunch or a coffee and talk about life this slow and simple life might not be for everyone but it is exactly what I want right now I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am that my family and I have had the opportunity to create this and live like this every day foreign s came to visit and if you've been following this channel for a while you've probably noticed that they come quite often and I can't tell you how grateful I am for the time that we are spending I have also noticed that living far away from each other actually increased the quality of the time we spend together and the conversations that we have so we are really grateful to be spending so much time together and we took a little hike to the cafe the coffee and tea place that's really close to our home it's about an hour walk and just decided to go there and have a coffee and just spend some time there foreign all right cool cool please okay foreign [Music] thank you foreign today [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] in Michigan [Music] levels restaurant thank you foreign what you have later [Music] thank you foreign [Music] [Music] Alexander [Music] Elementary [Music] thank you that comes around [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] so yeah what can I say um I'm just so happy that my life is quiet and simple and that I've been able to remove a lot of complexities I think that just come with growing up and being in your 30s or something building your career not knowing where life is going and I've turned 46 this year and noticed that things get easier just with age and just incredibly grateful to live this simple life with my family we're all in good health it's very content and I really want to thank all of you for following our journey I sometimes feel I don't have anything interesting to share but I guess you might be loving that quiet Simplicity as much as I do so thank you again so much for being here today I will see you in the next one [Music]
