Brocante shopping for my French farmhouse kitchen

foreign [Music] [Music] good morning it's been snowing a little bit over the past days as you've seen in my previous Vlog as well and today is Sunday and we're going to pack up the van with a couple of things that we're able to donate to Emmaus the charity shop and of course I always do a little walk around and see if they have anything interesting now is this a proper Builders van or what I guess we'll have to wait until summer before I can turn this into a camper van foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] oh what what she's close yeah they're telling me to back up well I'll leave Olaf and the people from the charity shop that take everything that we're donating out of our van I'm going into the what they call Lu parking which is always the best place really to find unexpected Treasures foreign [Applause] foreign difference this is frozen to the table okay all right thank you I got this exact same one another amazing a couple of months ago and I put in silverware which is actually quite nice like Fork spoons knives broken out here it's really such a thing that they put it out here and don't protect it at all it's just all out in the rain and snow now please so I've been told one of my Volcan friends like he sells will count as well said these were actually quite um famous and popular here in this region I don't like this style at all but he always gets those when he sees him he always picks those kind of things up here's another one say I don't like it I think my friend might like this all right let's see the other section feels like proper treasure hunting that we have to dig things out of the snow so here's another one actually it's not the kind of thing I buy so I don't really know much about them that's not a huge nice big picture picture if we can get it out that looks like it's cracked though so let's just leave it wow these were for uh sewing machines but they actually could make nice legs for tables and some yeah something maybe like a side table I'm not wearing gloves it is so cold so this is always where they keep the junk um table wears see and this is always where I pick up all these big bowls that I like so much and everything's glued too I'll have plenty of those so I'm not going to pick this up now I really have many foreign but it's all cracked and dirty on the inside so you never have any large Planters or um pots for plants here like it's all ugly stuff usually [Applause] These are nice okay just a quick tour because my hands are literally freezing off that's a really nice pan which I don't need since we started using the Little Kitchen in our future holiday Cottage I've noticed that I don't really have enough space to store all the vegetables and all the fruits and stuff when I go shopping I always come home with lots of fresh veggies and in our old kitchen I had lots of storage I don't really have that here but I have seen that I really like putting everything out on this play so I use broken bowls and other dishes wooden dishes and bowls too just put everything that I buy and have it all in sight you probably know the feeling of not knowing what you want to cook tonight and I know and I've experienced that it's helpful when I see it sitting out there also for my two boys when I put all the fruits out there for them to see I have noticed they eat a lot more fruit and so do we it just inspires us to make health healthier choices for what we eat so I'm wanting to find more of these really nice Bowls because in my new kitchen our own family's kitchen I'll have a huge kitchen island and I think it will look wonderful to just have all these beautiful big bowls and dishes filled with lovely fresh vegetables and fruits These are nice as well really nice foreign this is our old bathroom door foreign I recognize it from these pegs or whatever they're called okay let's go inside I'm so freezing was two Euros for the three bowls and that one little pot thing and I got the other one for 250 I think just that one pot that I put the spoons and forks in huh yeah yeah okay foreign behind this um foreign [Music] foreign [Music] thank you and here's another one yes this is definitely coming home as well [Music] foreign that was four Euros for the two mustard pots let's go up to where the table wearers are and I come here all the time and sometimes I'm very lucky and sometimes it's really just a bunch of milk thank you they've organized everything which I'm not sure if I find that nicer I am still looking for champagne coops nice ones so I always take a look here in this section but I've never really been able to find like not these those are fruits but I mean coops [Music] oh I think I actually have those at home yes I have a whole set of these that I now use for our guests so I might take these so when they break I have extra ones and look it's more but I have so many of these so I think I'm going to leave these for another lucky finder to find and these look like the ones I have as well thank you These are nice round ones oh these look I think we had similar ones when I was young in the 80s Davies would be champagne Cooks but I would like some with like engravery is that what you call it like detailing in the glass So lately they really seem to have only just very new ones [Music] apart from a few that I find I guess [Music] position s [Music] so this actually goes with this but anyway they put it here [Music] look honestly I don't think the cell has even when it's two euros all broken [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] thank you off to the book section because I'm actually trying to find a very specific book I just wanted to show you these older style books with these old beautiful covers and just wanted to share with you maybe if you like this kind of style it's nice to just get a few of these and use them as Decor even if you're not reading them like you could put a couple on top and put a nice candle on top of it or a nice vase with flowers and it's just nice when the colors are nice and it matches really nice with the rest of your interior a super giant book met Moya our thickening of a bloomer and I was also trying to find like a gardening book but an old one that maybe has nice drawings of flowers that I could use to frame them and hang them somewhere as decoration but they don't really seem to have any here I've looked so often already so when I studied French literature in my 20s they obviously made us read lots of books I don't always like the books because when the story doesn't really speak to me I hated having to move through the entire book like finish it all but there was one book that I don't even think we had to read that for the studies I think we just read it because everybody was talking about it at the time and it's a really nice love story and every time I'm coming here I'm trying to find it because I want to read it again but I don't have it anymore so let's go to the G of banuate Guru and try to find it today foreign [Music] thank you no okay and then almost 50. oh 250. oh this is X Style nice [Music] you would almost custom make a cupboard for that or space or I found a piano hey guys [Music] it's like that sound is nice it's just not tuned [Music] I would like to have a piano again though when we finished all the building works we have a piano in the Netherlands and Olaf plays really nicely well we have our studio back we had a whole music studio but that's the home of the story you see they have a few newer items I think this was from a um Interior Furniture store that that's quit doing business and then they took a couple of items from them you know like this one as well thank you I think one thing that this does having these new items from a store is that it clearly shows you the difference in quality from these old furniture pieces like how they make them in the old days and all this modern stuff like look it's just such poor quality wood and that sells for 500. you just get like a piece like that which is not your style probably but it's just so much better quality we'd have a different interior style this would actually be really cool that with that smaller what is it called buffet in French like that could be really cool if you have really tall vintage interior which I don't but I can totally see that work if you do that look how gorgeous this would be if this was your style or if you would have to renovate and redecorate a shuttle or a missile to myth that would be really nice and even this could be quite nice if you have a retro vintage interior it's clearly somebody sold their whole house where's that had that style I think it all came from the same house honestly it looks like it was some dog's bed you put a new even in the in the future Cottage yeah it would even be nice inside I think shall we ask if we can get those for free for tickets ask the price Maybe with him that's a problem
