Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Anything Titanic related always reminds me how Belfast celebrates the fact they built a ship that sank.
It's interesting to note that Lord's book does not mention that the Titanic broke into two before sinking below the ocean's surface This is because despite eye witness accounts that the ship did break in two, inquiries concluded that the ship sank intact. Not until Ballard found the ship in 1985 was it confirmed that the ship broke in two.
Not sayings itβs totally 100% accurate, but the eponymous 1958 film based on Lordβs book is the best ever, IMHO.
I have recently been seriously getting into history regarding the Titanic and all things White Star. I just thought I would share this little gem if there are any others here who are interested? I know there is a Titanic Subreddit but you would figure most there would already be aware of such works.
I wonder if any of you have stories handed down through your family from people related to the event or indeed part of it?!
