the topic a moment in the word a moment in the word so we want to spend some time just just looking at looking at what the word of god has to say and um just want to let you know i will be at different points in time i might join i might ask questions you know so i'll be looking out for your responses um as well as you may ask questions and hopefully i'll get to see those questions and be in a position to respond to them and if i can't respond to them i will tell you so haha but i trust that the lord will grant me grace to respond to any questions that you might ask tonight um let's let's just reflect on what god has to say to us through his word but before i go i want to do i go into the story i want to tell you something about me um the one thing that i enjoy doing right is just having my my my son or my daughter just sitting on my my shoulder so their legs are around my neck you know and um it's a good feeling and they enjoy too you know when i think about that for me is that and they may not understand this but when they are on my shoulder they get an opportunity to see further than where i can see they get to see wider than i am able to see you know they may not be able to articulate it they might be able to say it but that is just in reality because of the advantage point and um i say that to say that tonight's study um when we as bible teachers our preachers you know come to you um a lot of the times we are coming to you sitting on the shoulders of uh great men and women who have been diligent in their study of the world and because of their diligence we would have garnered some information that helped to strengthen our thought processes and so tonight is no different i am sitting here humbly sitting on the shoulder of many um theologians who would have gone on before some might still be alive um today and so i just want to let let all of us here know that you know the study tonight is based on my own reflection you know what the lord would have been saying to me and also um some of the thoughts and ideas from other persons who have been diligent in studying the word of god so we look forward to um to the stories let's begin a moment in his word a moment in the word of almighty god so i want to remind us um of this i find it very interesting and very useful and so from time to time once i'm talking about the bible i would be borrowing from alan sims um he wrote this book called god's word and he had this thought or this phrase um this sentence for what the bible is so he said the bible is meant to be a spiritual guidebook a chart of the seeds of life to show us the right way to make us wise to salvation to enable us to know the truth by which we can be set free and sanctified i think that is just awesome i don't want to add anything towards alan steps i said concerning the word of god now let me ask you a question when we see those persons who are able um how many how many parts are there to divide how many parts are there to the bible let me see who will respond to me the quickest how many parts are there to the bible i'm looking on on youtube when i'm you know trying to to see the responses by assuming as well how many parts are there to the bible let me hear your thoughts on that so first we respond to it how many thoughts how many parts are there to the word of god the bible nobody nobody all right okay uh i hope you will be able to respond to the next that i might have so the answer is on the screen the bible is divided in two parts namely the old testament and the new testament so that was our quick easy question that everybody should be jumping to answer um the bible is divided into two parts namely the old testament and a new testament all right so let me ask the next question then um how many books are there in the old testament how many books are there in the old testament how many books are there in the old testament and when they get ants i'm going to also show you something that i have seen um that helps us to remember how many books are there in the whole and also how many interviews so these are just some easy question that i am giving out tonight because i know you know this okay so there are 39 books someone said 39 all right 39 books in the old testament excellent um sir graham that's good that's good now let's look at how we can derive these 39 books so you look at the word all and that's three words three letters rather and they were a testament and that's nine letters so you put the both of them together put the word all counter the letters they get three testament you get nine they put both them together i get 39 so it's an easy way of remembering how many books that there are in once you can spell the word old and testament that you can count you should be able to come up with the how many books are in the old testament easily now how many books are in the new testament and you will tell me 27 and there's another way of how you can get the 27. again there were new there's three letters testament is still nine letters so but instead of putting three and nine together now what you do you multiply three times nine see so three times nine is twenty-seven so you get 27 books in the new testament so again the way in which you can remember how many books are there in the old testament just counter the letter in the word all let us in in the word testament and put those two together three and nine and then you do the same thing for new testament well instead of putting them together now you multiply them so it's three times nine to equal to twenty-seven and then now if you can add you simply add 39 plus 27 and that will give you 66 and so that will make you know 66 books in the bible wow yeah that's good that's good i found it very interesting when i found it and so i wanted to share with you and i trust that it will be a blessing to you yeah all right so now the old testament which has 39 books are organized by types in other words they're organized by the types of book they are and not necessarily by the time when they were written that's that's something you want to pay attention to that the old testament the the books in the old testament there are different types of book in the old testament and also in the new testament for tonight we focus in on your as it relates to this point you have to come back another time for me to do the division of the new testament but understand the division of the old testament all right so they were explaining about you tonight i'm not going to respond to it because i'm focusing on the old testament in terms of the division for our study so the books of the old testament therefore they are organized by the types of book um so literally cluster the books together the different types together and not necessarily in terms of the time when they're in but hopefully by tonight you will be able to kind of get an understand as to when these books were written get an idea of the time frame in which these buddhist books were written all right now so let me ask you another question so organize in the old testament know what are some of the what are the types of books um you think there are in the old testament what type of books um how would you categorize the books of the old testament let me hear your feedback and that how will you categorize the books of the old testament meaning um what types of book there are how many how many categories they are and um what are these categories let me hear your response on that to that and then i'll go on let me hear your thoughts on that what types of what are the different types of books we have in the whole testament all right so someone said okay so you have history book uh-huh that's larry larry graham said history book and sister we said they are the pentateuch which is the first five book of the bible okay good stuff is there anything else any other type of book there is in the old testament let me hear they have history and someone said the pentateuch um their prophecies okay all right great so you guys are on the ball man very good they have major and minor prophets good stuff good stuff good stuff good stuff you guys can be really doing this study now all right so there are three parts in the old testament are three divisions three types of books in the old testament and here they are you have the historical books which are 17 or the first 17 books of the old testament are classified as historical books and then you have the poetic books which is the next five books of the old testament and then you have the prophetic books which which will conclude um the 39 books so there are 17 um historical books that is the first 17 books are historical books and then the next five books are poetic books and then the other 17s are what we refer to as prophetic books and then we're going to break down into these so we have some bright spots water some other stuff so go into those things now so the historical books now they tells us the stories so if you want to know stories you know you want to get um the drama no the the drama of the of the of the of the old testament sometime you know you really old testament and there's some action and you know you want to get into the the soap opera yes sometimes the old testament is full of afroman jesus mix-up one of the old testament jesus but if you want to hear about someone who's mix-up and stories you have to stick to the historical books and then now the poetic books are now speaking about the songs and and poems and then the prophetic books know are the sermons um the sermons all right so you want to if you want to remember you want to know stories that you want to um know about these different things then you have to focus if you want more stories before 17 books you want to know about sounds and poems the next five books and then the prophetic books will give you the sermons have some further division i hear some people talk about it so the historical book now um historical book which is this first 17 books that we said before um the first five of those books are sister christian west had said it earlier they referred to as the pentatosh which is the first five book of the bibles they cancel them with me genesis exodus leviticus numbers and deuteronomists that make five books and those books are said to have been written by moses and they they referred to as pentatosh and they know the other books know which which move from joshua to esther is that who knows the historical book so the entire 17 books are referred to as as historical books are books that give stories um but the first five is also seen further classified as the pentateuch um or the torah and then the historical bookstore would be those books moving from joshua to esther so if you know the the the books of the bible in the sense of how they are other than you will know the history books versus the poetic book versus the historical book right but remember the books are not necessarily written in terms they are classified based only types of books and not because of the time and you will see later on then now we have the books of the um the prophetic books are alfred are divided into major prophets and minor prophets right so the first five books of those prophetical books the isaiah the jeremiah the ezekiel the daniel lamentation those five books are classified as major prophets um and they know from from josiah no to malachi i know is referred to as a minor prophet so you want to you want to remember those things so there are five major prophets and in terms of the books of the bible and then there are 12 minor prophets which are the books of the bible now i know there are prophets which are referred in these books but they don't have any attached to your name or anything um so you can remember elijah and elijah and those will be prophets too but in terms of talking about the prophetic books now the prophetic books are necessarily profits all right so the prophetic books would be the first five books the isaiah the jeremiah the lamentation the ezekiel the daniel those are the major prophets books and then you have the minor prophets the josiah the malachi um and all those other books are referred to as the minor prophets all right let's continue all right so you can't even share that with the organization of the old testament remember i had said earlier on that the books of the old testament are organized based upon types and not necessarily by the time in which they were written all right so let's continue to look at that now so the poetic and the prophetic books they find their place in the stories yes so the prophetic books and the poetic books find themselves in their stories let me give you an example here now so we know of david right and we know that most of the sounds not all of it but most of the sounds have been written by david and um and of course other persons can be attributed to it but what david existed are we read about david in second samuels and um some of the stories in second summers are repeated in first chronicles so the life of david is seen in second samuels and first chronicles so that means that the psalms therefore would find themselves um being written in our own time when um for somewheres and and chronicles were taking place in our david could not have read these books when he did not exist so it was while while some things were happening in in in um in david's life that you read about in in second somewhere she was writing some of those sounds so maybe when he was running from saul he would write a song you know maybe when he was you know facing um his son jonathan his his son um absalom he'll be writing a psalm when he was in the cave in regnazam before he before and after he fight goliath to write the psalms and so those so david while he was existing and you don't see or hear of him writing any songs necessarily um you know what he was writing and the writings find himself now um in a broad category of book called sound right so technically that's what i'm saying and then proverbs no enthusiasts and songs of salaman would have been written by david son um solomon and salomon if you want to read about the life of salamander you will read about the life of solomon in first kings so it means that while while solomon was reading under throne and all these different things was happening he was writing these proverbs and these the ecclesiastic book and the songs of solomon he was writing all of those while he was living and it was recorded in first kings so it simply means that um psalms and proverbs therefore and ecclesiastes can be seen as happening in the period of our first skills i hope you hope you're following me and then job now is said to have been one of the oldest books of the old testament and some scholars actually believe he existed in our own day at the same time when abraham was living you know and abraham the story of abraham is is really smack in in genesis some chapters of genesis and so um job then who would have wrote the book of job would have been um existing or that within the time of of genesis right so genesis um would have been you know maybe one of the older oldest books but um job would also be classified as all books too because joe would have existed in the time of abraham right so what i'm saying is that um when second someone's what's happening or the activities the action whatever time frame that was um let's say that was in the year um five you know 535 bc right then some should have been written uh most of its sound have been within 5 55 bc the same time that second kings were being written because david would have been wrong at that time that's just some information there now the psalms um uh the in the psalms you hear the lamentations or the the utterances of man so man was lamenting and you in psalms you see a wide range of emotions from anger to happiness to sadness and all of the different emotions you can think about they are clearly expressed they are clearly expressed in in the psalms um so man you know god gave man the freedom as it were to lament to express himself um in in in his psalms and that is something that we have to we want to pay close attention to that god indeed um allows us to express ourselves of course there are contexts in which they must be expressed but we we can see they they we can see anger we can see happiness we can see sadness you know and the other emotions are happening um as we read the pages of sound of the sounds no but in the prophetic books though you know it is god lamenting remember you know the prophetic books are what refer to the prophetic books again as you got it ceremonies the prophetic books are actually sermons and so the prophets would have been god's more peace and so the perfect not really supposed to say anything um i speak on behalf of god unless god gave him a word so whatever the prophet they and i'm talking about the true prophets now or whatever true prophet express would have been words that he would have received from god to tell the people so you know you have the priest who would be um the representative of man to god in our word they take the petition of man they sacrifice and everything from man and bring that to god and they refer to as priests and they know when you want to hear back from the lord no then the prophets will not speak um on behalf of god and so therefore if god if the prophets are god's more peace and it means that whatever they express would have been god's expression would have been god's emotions if you want to call it that it would have been god's anger they've been god happiness they've been god's sadness and so you're seeing in the in the psalms man expression and the prophets you're seeing god's expression so god gets angry yes he gets sad he gets happy and as you read the pages of isaiah all the way back down to hosaia you'll receive these emotions being expressed by god and that is something that you want to want to pay attention to and that is important because if it is that god is expressing something it is something that we must pay attention to and there are 17 books that speaks directly to um god's uh words to his people so we can't do no expression any questions so far any any questions that you might have so far we'll be learning something any questions anybody have any questions for me before we proceed can we go into now we're going to unite any question for me if not i will move on all right let's continue then so now in in first and second samuels and first chronicles and second kings and first kings we see we have the stories and again these books would have been stories historical books for their express stories so we have here the stories therefore of um of the life of saul and david and solomon let me say something so first so the kings first kings and second kings our first kings would be giving the stories of the life of solomon and in second samuels and to some extents first chronicles give the life of david and of course um for some words will now speak more to the life of of saul who was the first king but the old son was the first king of israel and then david and then solomon and each of these worlds reigned forward 40 years each on the throne of israel now what was happening at the time is that while they were leading um the nation of israel was united in other words saul david and solomon they ruled over the entire 12 tribes of israel they ruled over the entire 12 tribe of israel and so that was that was when we have the united kingdom so if you want to hear about the united kingdom of the 12 tribes um dwelling in one place and having one um one king then that would be um the first sacrament and first presidency and some was first chronicles and first kings now when david when david um died he gave the um where sarah man took over got anointed can allow salamander to become the next king after salamance death his son solomon's son of rome took over the kingdom and so for a short space of time robert was reigning over the entire tribes of judah of israel the twelve tribes but they know there was a split um where you had another kingdom um with the two ten of the tribes formed another kingdom which is referred to as israel and then the southern kingdom know would be you know um the the the nation of judah and benjamin so so so ten of the tribes form the southern kingdom um foreign kingdom which would be referred to as israel and then that those those persons were being their their first king in the divided kingdom of israel would have been jeroboam and the first king of the divided kingdom would have been rural so the solomon's son ruled over just judah and benjamin and they formed the southern kingdom which is referred to as the as a tribe of judah so benjamin was smacked there so it was not just judah so whenever the tribe of judah we're thinking about judah and the tribe benjamin all right so in that in that divided kingdom now um you have you have different kings so at any point in time while you only had one king in the united kingdom a different point and there was one king ruling over israel the ten tribes and then the king rule over judah the two the two the two childs and so you want to pay attention you want to remember that no what happened now remember i said before that the the prophetic books find themselves smack in um the stories right and so the prophetic books would have been god's speaking to the people or to to israel right to the to the divided kingdom right now from second kings to esther gives information about the divided kingdom right so from second kings all the way back to that period of time would have been in terms of history would have been speaking about the divided kingdom so at any one point in time you're reading these books um you're gonna find that there is a king of judah and a king of israel because the kingdom was divided now all of the prophetic books much profit books we have 17 of them all of the prophetic books except daniel and ezekiel were written no all of the prophetic books um can be found in second kings in the period of second kings and except daniel and ezekiel daniel and ezekiel as prophets those books were written while the children of israel while the children of judah not israel the children of judah was was being exiled in babylon and so during that 70-year period that they were taken slave into babylon um daniel and ezekiel lived and wrote their books but all the other prophets you know would have been now sent by god to speak to um the divided kingdom interestingly and i'm gonna ask a question later on so let me let me say but interestingly in first kings and in first kings first and second summers and first chronicles the none of the major prophets no nothing major prophetic books was written during those times so the warnings and they and the the utterances by god the expression of anger and all of those things were not seen um were not were not god never sent um those words to the divided the united kingdom of course there would have been prophets during those times so natan definitely would have been our own samuel would be classified as a prophet but they would have been around so they were prophets in the time of the united kingdom's you know that so don't get me wrong but in terms of the prophetic books and god sending a word to his people it was sent not to the children of israel meaning the entire twelfth tribe no but it was sent to the divided kingdom so so is so so so um so isaiah and jeremiah and josiah and jonah and all of these prophets were sent by god they lived in a time when the kingdom of israel was divided and that's something i want to pay attention to when we come into that when we come into that we come into that door man go worship we come into that can that is critical no of course no um the divided kingdom um the kings that reign over um reign over king or and over israel and judah you can find their stories you can find their stories in second kings and second chronicles you can find their stories in second kings and second chronicles now let me ask you therefore how many books how many prophetic books would have been written uh how many prophets would god have sent during this time of the divided kingdom um are during the time of second kings and second chronicles how many books so speaking specifically about the period whatever length of time that was between ii chronicles and and and second kings that period of time right how many prophets did god sent to those kings and the people living in those times how many let me hear your responses tell me how many how many 15 someone said 50. all right let me i hear that response let me see if there's anybody else is anybody else to me are some other responses how many books how many prophets god sent today today to the people during the time of second kings and second chronicles someone said 15 or 14 all right so mm-hmm i'll take those let me here and get one more response now move on 17 ha no so 17 would not be correct um 50 would not be correct and 14 will not be correct so because those are not correct let me give you let me give somebody an opportunity to say something and if you get it right i would almost want to have um one of the beacons of the counselors give you a gift so i hope the concerts are here tonight because they might be required to give the answer the person will get the curriculum vintant said 12. my god vintan thomas i don't have virgin i'm bridging vindanda 12 vintage you are reading my you are reading my mind bintan yes 12 of indian deserve a gift somebody need to give vinta whenever they can online here need to give internet gift i think you should everybody just give bintana a club you know that was very good very good winter 12 prophetic books and i want to ask what i'm not going to ask i'm tempted to ask what would have been these books but i'm not going to ask i'm just going to show you these books all right no it was 12 um sorry 12 um 12 of them so these are 12 books these are 12 prophets that were sent to the children of israel and the children of judah so majority of the sermons that were preached were preached during the time of the divided kingdom ah and can i tell you it was chaos in those times you know jesus some foolishness some ideology some adultery oh my sin upon the passing of under our sins were committed during this time no was there no sin doing they divided the united kingdom of course there was if it was there there it was in the united kingdom or we know of david exploit saul was there when noah is exploited someone was there with more of his exploit but when when if you want to compare um the divided kingdom which which is of the nation up top um which is which form israel ten tribes and then southern judah and and benjamin um it's imagine the divided kingdom of the united kingdom was was perfect if you compare both the kingdom goes with something just a man and as they live their life so messed up and so oh god so so i want to do that term i'm not gonna use it here but their life was so far from god of course you had some kings in the time of judah and stuff who would have had a good rain you know but by and large the kings weren't going doing a good job at all and then the people that were worse so people like maybe hezekiah and jerusalet um would have been two kings that you know who would have ruled over jew that would be classified as maybe you know you know living not such a bad life you know in terms of the following in the footsteps of of of god and so and interestingly when a king lives you know rather correctly or incorrectly it is how his reference to this here you check it out he said they would they he lived they follow in the footsteps of his father david chicago son but joshua organized itself when hezekiah live this the the writers describes who wrote ezra knows the men who wrote they would say to you that they he follow in the footsteps of his father david or it would say he did not follow any footsteps of his father david and interestingly those kings who live bad lives are lies outside of what god wanted those kings were when they died they never buried in the same place that david and salaman was buried they were very they remember very near there but they never buried there because the pre-son whoever is that was response whoever even that the priests californians were touched there but whoever was responsible to do the bearing at the time did not see it fit to bury them there because their lives were not in accordance to um the precepts of god so these are the twelve prophets that were sent so we talked about jonah ron pham minivan and stuff yemen it was in the time when the divided kingdom was taking place no no no books like so you have these 12 and then you have the other two which would have been daniel and ezekiel would have been written in the time of exile and make it 14 so there are three other books which would have been written after the exile right so you would have you will have all the way up to all the way up to um which book would that be you know so esther and nehemiah would have come after the exile right as historical books so esther um would have extra i would have come a nehemiah and yeah and lamentation would have come after the exile nehemiah would have come after the exile right now what happened now is that you know there are different kings would reign so in the time when nehemiah was building the world and stuff he was working with malachi so malakai would have been written in that same time when um when when when when nehemiah was was was going back to to judah to rebuild the world and they know you have you have people like there are people like zechariah and um there was another another guy and her who would have been you know in the same period of time when esther and israel are those other books were being written and so you have three books or three sermons where preach after the children of israel came back from the exile and 12 were preached if you want to call it that before they went into exile and two was preached while they were in exile but all of those were where preachers were speaking to people of the divided kingdom all right that's something we want to pay attention to no when i said that the children of israel um the prophets the the stories the prophets find themselves in the in the stories we said that yes and we see from the passage as well that um from the scripture are from history that the the majority of the books 12 of them were sent to um the the children of israel and judah before the exile and three after the examination and god said sir can send these prophets to speak to them so that is something that is telling i think that's very important for us to take a note of that these people lived in such a way that it was not pleasing to the lord and because it was not pleasing to the lord the lord send persons to let them know that they're not live and so that for me caused us to therefore risk with reflect and to think and one other thing that i think this point out is that god loves his people because if you don't love somebody you don't care what them do if you don't love somebody you don't get angry when them go wayward no man they don't if you know if you know love they may not care about them they can't do anything they want to do so the that god sent 17 prophets to the children of israel and judah speaks to the fact that god loved these people he loved them and that's something that you and i have to pay attention to and so and so we have to be careful german you have to be careful about what you say and how you say um what you say and even how you say it concerning god's people god's god love his people because it was love that drive him to send these prophets it was love that caused jeremiah to to to feel at one point i'm not gonna say anything and then send all this man to go to go marijuana it was love to the point where um this guy malika said why listen listen you guys are like persons who have who have holes in their pockets who are focused powerful in the house while my house is like lie in ruins it is because god loves his people while he send this to them so you have you have to care you have to be careful of what you say about god's people remember when god in in deuteronomy it was the end of deuteronomy god listen now [Music] allah the children of israel i got inherited well you're not going in okay rebel against [Music] god call the people rebellious there are rebellious people and moses couldn't call everybody and get everything there's no not one that david said touch nothing lord of 19. so i'm saying that god loves his people so it's twofold for me one we as his people must recognize that whatever is taking place in our world right now god loves us if you are called by god's name he loves you and so no matter what go on in your life right now i wanna go on your life right now you know matter what you want to remind yourself of is the fact that god loves you that's one the second thing no is that because he loves his people those persons who are speaking against his people have to be careful because god not take too kind to those persons who want to trouble his people we are the apple of his eyes he said to abraham who was the father of of all of us you know if you want to call about inheritance those were engraft into the family of god was the father of all of us he said i will bless them god bless you and curse them that curse you it's a warning it's an encouragement for us as believers that he loves us with us who are warning to those persons who might feel they can say and do anything against that people and get away with it in the works but before that now why the next thing he said what what where next thing that points out talking about the fact that god said all of these prophets to speak to these people who are wayward before he destroy a nation does god know or a people he said words of warnings before him destroy one nation or a people he send words of warnings and all of these prophets coming with warnings and stuff after one day the next one rise up you know it's because god wanted to let his people know that listen i'm about to do something be careful he will send words of warning what does that say to us now that in this time that we are living in god is speaking because there's an impending judgment you know at christ's second return and so you and i know are hearing sermons upon sermons bible study upon bible study speaking about the coming of the lord speaking about loving god speaking about following god precept all of those things are warnings so don't take the word of god don't take his his prophets his pastors and those persons we have speaking this word for granted because they are speaking on behalf of god and he is doing it because he wants to secure us he wants to ensure that we don't find ourselves on the wrong side of of his hand when he comes again pay attention pay attention don't get distracted by corona and the storms and the hurricane and the disasters those things can occupy a significant space in our head and sometimes if you're not careful those things i'll become the focus and of course of it it's hard not to focus on going it's hard not to not to complain about politics and the government and and what is happening it's hard not to complain about all of those persons but at the same time you wonder i have to recognize that those things are not should not be the focus the focus should be on god and i want to say again to those of us who are here christians and non-christians alike that we should not take the apparent silence of god for granted so people get up every day and they say they want to say what they want to say you know they curse gardener then last night i was reflecting and i was reading something on a christian website and somebody was commenting i talk about there is no garden and i said why why god not say anything why when people are blaze up in god's face people come at church sin when they want sin and do anything they want to do and still go to church or worship and live for holy hands and preach a ceremony in life no no right we gotta say oh my god no i gotta do anything let me tell you god has reserved a day of judgment and this day of judgment says they um said the passage in acts for he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man which is christ he has appointed he has given the proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead so so so so people i get with murder if you want to call it that people are getting a bit of holy power foolishness what about sin in the church and also the church i say oh there is no god and you need not care about what i go on trust me he cares about what is going on and after malachi after them come back from the exile a 400 year they don't hear from him but at the same time in in that never mean that he never have a plan absolutely nothing let me just say this categorically on this line nothing absolutely nothing that is happening in our world right now takes god by surprise nothing he god does not get any new information god is not learning there is no you and i will learn and get more information and become more smart and whatever i become more informed everything god knows he has already he has always known him you know get new there is no new information coming to that absolutely nothing that is new and so it simply means that god is in control but he by his mercy has reserved a day for judgment of course you have one and two people will be exposed and you would say by god that would have you know caused them to be exposed but that exposure is just so that they can repent and they can come back to know him as lord and savior because we are living now in the time of god's love and mercy but there's no comedy when god is going to sit on the throne not as your savior not as your friend as it were not as your father as it were but as your judge and he as god as king reigning um with integrity he will have to judge with justice come on time is going on so what so that means that there's something we should be doing since we're not supposed to be focusing on what is happening too much and get distracted by them and miss what god is doing and what god is not doing in this season the accompanying ones one of them is a sea god and his kingdom seek god on his kingdom we can't be distracted by our own agenda anymore we can't be distracted by you know what what i feel and what i like and what i don't like and who's troubling me for who not trouble me and who's reigning as government and who is not reigning those things are a distraction to the purpose for which god has us here he calls us to himself when he was scheduling of israel to to to get to the wilderness you know he said to moses that listen tell the people say that he brought them out of egypt to himself and so before he gave them the promised land he gave them himself of course they refused and moderated him dead in the wilderness so god is giving himself in this season brothers and sisters so even if you don't get the quote unquote promise of the house and the car and the wife and the whatever if you have jesus you got it all i'm telling you man i'm not speaking no oh because oh yeah you can't say anything because you're married or you can't say anything because i have a good job or you can't say anything because you know you're deciding that they have good health or whatever me now are different kids all of us are god's people and my my story might differ from you but you and i have one thing in common and one that one now we have in common is the most important thing the personhood of jesus christ and in this season of whatever is happening in our world whatever covet whatever you want to call it let us not get distracted by those things and miss or miss what god is doing in this season seek god and his kingdom we must therefore love god above all he said in matthew let us he said love the lord thy god with all thy heart mind body soul spirit whatever else is written there in that text love god above all above your wife i love you i love you rafilla you know i love you girl above your wife above your job above your security above your car above your womb above your party love him above all in this season you have to prioritize your relationship with the lord god can't do those catalytic section of your life now because you know your fears are oh yeah you deserve this because you have been good to me so may i give you a lot of portion here so your life must be wrapped up and tied up and tangled up in jesus you must aging sleep jesus and i know this might sound cliche because all christians are supposed to be in love with jesus but the truth is a lot of us are in love with the idea of being in love with god and we are not in love with god he get only a fraction of our day we spend most of the time doing other things and i'm guilty of that sometimes what god is calling us in this season to prioritize him to choose him to love him more than we love ourselves and our own comfort we have to invest time with god brothers and sisters daily that's sometimes not when we feel like not when it is convenient not when there is a plan activity at church not when there is a plan fast in service a plan rotm a plan um bible study a plan church service no we have to spend time with god daily i need you more more than yesterday i need you more more than life hey i need you more than ever before i need you more more than the next heartbeat more than this song i sing more than anything lord of the days goes by i will be by your side cause i never want to go back to my own life i need you more more than yesterday i need you more than anything i need you more i need you more jesus in this season lord in this moment of our lives god will eat him bring us to our knees bring us to our knees lord help us to see you for who you are and love you more than anything else lord help us to love you because all the sermons that we that we hear all of the prophets if they had anything in common it would be returned to the lord god jamaica lord we have failed you we have drifted from you oh lord we are at a point where we are saying lord perform we need you more we need you more life we need you more we need you more we need you more jesus we need you more above the music above the preaching above the melody above the fame above our reputation above everything jesus must get preeminence man he must occupy our life he must be our life can't be there is no my life when it comes on to a born again believer there is no me myself and i anymore it's about jesus it's about him this guy larry richard see he wrote this book how to read and understand the bible and this is what he said he so focus on your relationship with god and listen for his voice we are to live our life in freedom rejoicing in the gift of choice the lord has given us he had tuned in to hear his voice and committed to respond 17 prophets god sent to us the people that were wayward and all he wanted was for them to choose him above everything else that's what he's called us to in this season to choose him to love him to desire him to desiring him to turn to him you are close to him that he made you are close to us so he can reveal to us what he wants us to know so we can know how to leave his people so we can know how to lead our lives so we can know how to be more effective on the job he's calling us to himself he said come my people come oh yeah oh um more than yes today i need you more more than anything leave you lord than ever before need you lord more than the next heartbeat fought on this song we sing more than everything know that i said this goes by i'll be by your side cause i never want to go back to my [Music] more foreign [Music] um love god above all prioritize your relationship with him invest time quality time with him daily tune your hearts mind and spirit to hear him and be committed to respond to him because the sermons were being preached and there was a moment there are moments of repentance and i'm sorry and then they go back into their own lives again [Music] and that god said another prophet the same thing happens sometimes them and kill the prophets sometimes they kill god more peace cut they don't want they don't want that they don't want to hear that they want to do their own thing gotta say there's so much they're more have more to say but i'm not going to proceed accomplish it can't go any further i can't go any further so there's a it's a collective it's a collective response when god sends the words to his people that he expects from his people and when though when there were those collective response like when when judah when joseph had called the nation of judah to that fast and they fast and he responded so there's a corporate response to what is happening and what god and god's words in this season and that's important for us to corporately respond to god's voice and to his instructions and to to follow in his leading but there's also an individual response because each of us have a relationship with god that we have to give an account for into my prayer is that my heart will turn towards the lord and that i will not be satisfied with life as it is there has to be more that god is saying and god wants to do in me and through me and that calls for response from me and that call for a response from you as well i pray at all responses will be yes lord your will and your way i pray that our response will be god whatever you're doing in this season don't do it without me but our response will be in this season lord i choose you above everything else above everyone else i choose you may that be our response tonight brothers and sisters may that be our response tonight may we spend that time in his word to hear his voice so he can speak to us [Music] that his name can be glorified [Music] hmm so you you you and i have a response to make you and i have a responsibility can i my heart of hearts i know that god is speaking to individuals on this platform even now i don't know what he said whatever is saying to you is important for you my prayer for you is that you will respond to that which is saying to me you know exactly what he's saying you know exactly what he's saying to you respond appropriately the prophets came not just to give words of comfort but were also words of warnings he loves us how he loves us or how he loves us but the love he has for us is our such that he cannot just sit by and and allow our lives to continue going further and further and further away from him his love will not allow that and so he's speaking to you right now right where you are right where you are right now god is speaking to you my prayer is that you'll respond appropriately and that he will be your all in all stand refocus brothers and sisters set our priorities straight it's all about jesus it has never been about us and will never be abundant sometime in this kingdom we are spoiled we must have it like burger king our way whenever we want it the way we want it it's not about us it's about god let's pray father thank you for showing up thank you for this moment thank you lord for your sermons that you have allow your prophets to preach that we have read in our bibles and that we have heard on a platform on a sunday when the week you are calling your people to yourself lord and we just ask that father you will help us to choose you it is clear that you have chosen us it is clear that you have selected us it is clear that you want us it is clear that you have selected us for yourself and you have made us the apple of your eyes help us to respond in a similar way help us to choose you james said we must draw a night to you and you will draw nigh to us may we respond to you may our lives oh god be changed for your glory for your honor for your grace it is to you lord we give the glory it is to you we give the praise not just because you have done so much for us but more so because of who you are heavyweight jesus in our lives collectively as a body and individually as a people may we seek you above everything else may your name be glorified forever and ever in in and for us we ask these mercies in jesus name amen amen when i thank you so much for for joining us tonight right here tonight i was asking the larger store just a lead i know in our can this this kind of a platform it is there's a particular way you're supposed to occur but the way you're supposed to be here in front of the camera but not with god there's no star there's no there's no actors there's no fan base there's no spectators we're active participants in god's progressive agenda so my my behavior my purse is what we see expressing the sounds ah because god is not interested in the pretense you want to see the real you you can't hide from him i can't hide from him yeah he loved your money thank you so much for joining us tonight as our congregations at church we appreciate you coming on each week i'm tuning in to our services we also want to uh continue to pray for your strength and for your protection in this season for you and your family we encourage you to you know observe the different protocols that are that exist the laws that exist in our land god tells us to obey the laws of the land so as much as they do against what god is and want us to do and what his words are stipulated and coach allah was to continue to stay attuned to to god in the season and to do all we can to protect ourselves and leaders that connects the other portion that we can't see we can't do anything about to come i want to encourage you to uh continue to stay tuned into our different uh uh media platforms different uh communication channels to hear what is happening i know that this sunday we are permitted to have 20 persons in church [Music] and so if you can't go to church physically because you're that are part of the the production team or the persons who have to enjoy the service carry on stay home and china's online there are various ways in which you can connect to us we actually encourage you to do so um that god will count you to bless you and your family and that as a people we will serve god joshua said in his my closing word joshua said it was the end he said you can do what you want to do when he was about to die he said you can do what you want to do but as for me and my hopes will serve the lord may that be your declaration will that be your pledge god bless you thank you so much um let us continue to pray for our pastor he is uh his wife but he could not be on tonight and um i just want to i don't know if he is here i want to to say anything if he is that i step aside now so he can greet you if that is if he is um able and willing to do so but i know he said he will be here but i just want to encourage all of you to continue to pray for the church um pray for each other and to love and to support each other as we continue um to do what he wants to do so i don't know if if rev is here and wants to um greet us um if it's just by a chat then that's fine if you want to say good night and show his face and wave you know the people would really appreciate that too so if that is his pleasure then i'll i'll decrease if not then i will um just pronounce the blessings and and thank you again for coming so let me let me hear let me know if you want to say something if not i'll just pronounce this all right also brothers and sisters made it our country to bless you and keep you and may his car may he cause his face to shine upon you and may he be gracious unto you and grant you his peace from this time forth and even forevermore god bless you and have a good night blessings my brothers [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] i need you more [Music] more than yesterday i need you more more than words can say i need you more than ever [Applause] [Music]
