Schneider has said that the left anterior temporal lobe has been specifically implicated in savant syndrome and is thought to be critical for semantic memory our knowledge of objects people's words and facts schneider found an increase in savant skills in studies conducted on the El ATL in neurotypical individuals which suggests there is a certain untapped potential in all of us dr. Schneider used a method called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation which is the use of electromagnets to trick specific parts of the brain into believing it is hurt to create what he calls virtual lesions dr.
