A LOTTA CHEESE! (AND SANDWICHES) The Cheese Shop - Colonial Williamsburg, Menu Overview, Wine Cellar

if ever visiting downtown Colonial Williamsburg and you're hungry you definitely need to go where we're going today when a Sara's favorite places the heat off the Duke of Gloucester Street and that is the cheese shop come along with us here's a little outside menu they have got sandwiches and they got all kind of soups here I guess cheese looks like the special sandwich of the day is the Virginia ham salad with sprouts on PITA and you can follow them on Instagram a tea shop VA [Music] Sara being from Williamsburg it's a must every time we come here that she meets at the cheese shop so it would be a it would be a sin to not stop by here and have lunch [Music] [Music] Sara loves this with the bread ends they sell here it's the original house dressing since 1971 she likes to dip the bread ends in the house dressing she's always happy to see a full basket of bread ends and the cool thing about it is they're only a dollar [Music] they've got a wine cellar downstairs from the restaurant dining area as well as a pretty massive cheese bar that he could see behind me they've always got a cool lineup of drinks here I've had this brown ale before or now is that that's not the brown oh that's real I've had this challenge root beer before that's a really good root beer they can't stop all of us you're looking for an alien style brew looks like they have it here one of Sarah's favorites is the black cherry the dr. Brown's slight disappointment no regular black cherry dr. Brown's they only have the diet version and that's not gonna cut it for Sarah but typically they have the right one but not this time I guess we're out of luck then here's their cheese bar which gives them their signature name the cheese shop so here it says welcome to the cheese shop you can find premium cheese freshly baked breads and beer by the glass right over at our cheese board here you can place your order for sliced meats and cheeses enjoy a taste of worldly or local Virginia wine downstairs and our wine cellar while you pick out a great bottle of wine or an interesting beer outstanding sandwiches on freshly baked bread with our famous house dressing that Sarah loves it can be found at the back of the store check out our menu and place your order at our sandwich counter get pre-madonna cheese can buy a Bosca cheese slicer you can actually order their sandwich meats right here by the pound buy anything they serve I guess at the restaurant area here at the cheese and deli bar I'm not a cheese expert but it looks like they have about any kind of cheese you can think of got a little dining area here at the front you can die in right there on the window bar and look out at the Duke of Gloucester taking a little history downtown cwy you enjoy your launch very cool place to just explore all their options their food options get jams and jellies horseradish and allioli I think this route 11 a route 11 I guess it depends on where you're from how you pronounce that but that's like there isn't that their signature chip you need chips for the side of your sandwich they've got plenty here to pick from say with the route 11 you got barbecue they've got salt and vinegars it actually got a dill pickle down here lightly salted oh here we go the classic Chesapeake crab that is gonna be one of my favorites and I think I'm gonna go with a bag of that from our lunch today right now the next thing for me to do is to find the drink I want to have with my lunch not exactly sure what I'm gonna go with but gonna have a gander and figure that out right now what is that wave wave said oh no I'm kind of liking the logo on the wave I think I'm gonna go with a blackberry waves my drink choice is this blackberry wave soda it's got that Col BW ban could this put Sarah's dr. Brown black tarry being availing at the diet version could it put an end to her run as this being her favorite drink and now the new wave blackberry take its place you ever visiting the tea shop they have a board on the left side of the wall here that explains how to order so you're gonna start off with choosing the type of meat you want and choosing the bread and any additions and any condiments and then here's a look at their menu they've got roast beef sandwiches turkey Virginia ham baked ham combo turkey and ham sandwiches they've also got smoked turkey corned beef sliced chicken barbecue we had just a plain tea sandwich Russian swagger Verano swagger everything outside some type of German sandwich it sounds like braunschweiger salami and cheese they've got chicken salad and tuna salad veggie and announces the standard grilled cheese salmon cream cheese and bagel they've got the hot smoked salmon prosciutto and provolone egg salad peanut butter and jelly corndog and the famous homemade Virginia ham salad and then you've got your choice of house dressing mayonnaise or mustard and then you have additions like watercress routs cheese roasted marinated tomatoes roasted bell peppers and then their lineup of cheeses are Swiss cheddar Adama how do you say is that a Dom damn Adama made them damn I think I'm pronouncing that right Edom cheese provolone a Varkey pepper jack and then breads you can add for $0.50 french whole wheat rye focaccia pumpernickel or pita and it looks like they also have gluten-free and gluten-free bagel options as well and then of course you can order online at cheese shop Williamsburg calm and then this is the outside entrance into the wine cellar and let's take a quick look down in the wine cellar now Sarah and I don't drink alcohol but just so you can have a visual on what the wine cellar looks like we're gonna take you down here and it appears to be a really large-scale wine cellar and I would imagine if you are a wine drinker you're gonna be able to find what you're looking for down here in the cellar and there's the settlers spiced wine [Music] you can buy wine by the glass apparently they got the California Chardonnay for 850 and an Italian Pinot Grigio for 750 a French peak boy for six dollars food an Italian Prosecco for five dollars and an Italian Moscato for five dollars which as you can probably tell I'm not a wine drinker because I can't pronounce any one of them that sounds like and they've got souvenir type stuff to go along with your bottle of wine you purchase here in the wine cellar at the cheese shop [Music] they've got a ton of salsas and hot sauces Virginia peanuts about anything you could think of you want to indulge in on your vacation and Williamsburg they've got it here what is this sweet heat the hub's home cooked Virginia peanuts it's like they're in the shell hot pepper sauce peach hot sauce mango key lime sauce chipotle lime they've also got these side dishes here prepackaged sides things like coleslaw potato salad lentils they've got 2x Aled some dessert options with cheesecake [Music] you have a shortage of olive oil you can come here and get some organic ENSO extra virgin olive oil from California and they've got delicate and bold and medium versions of that and then here's some other olive oil options alright so I'm gonna open up my turkey on French with Swiss and roasted tomatoes this is what that looks like here that's a pretty big sandwich they give you like I said I've got the I got the the greens the Swiss cheese and roasted tomatoes on there the Sarah's gonna open up her sandwich would you get sir she just went with the standard grilled cheese she's a vegetarian so yeah it looks good it's like panini style yeah she's [Music] [Music] one thing I like to do with Sarah's favorite house dressing is dip my chips right there in the house dressing highly recommend getting the turkey on French bread with the Greens of roasted tomatoes this too is really good dipping into the house dressing which I think that's a thing here in downtown Williamsburg you visit the cheese shop is dip your sandwich in into their pals dressing it's like a it's like a theme isn't it yes that's true so there you go if you want a half pint and avoid the cost of a big jar just order order that size and you should have plenty how much was it 365 these are not a bad price if you do do with a half pint of house dressing 365 but a nine you know how much the jar was yes a full jar is gonna be somewhere around $14 a pretty substantial cost savings there and you can still go home and enjoy house dressing on your bread ends or your sandwich long after you leave the tea shop [Music] and like I said one of the cool things about eating inside the t sevens you can sit here right at the window look out at American history of the Duke of Gloucester Streetman the most historic avenue in all of America all right at the moment of truth I'm going to try out the new wave blackberry soda I've never had one and they sell it here at the tea shop so I'll crack it up and take a sip let's see if this can outdo dr. Brown's black cherry it's definitely not sweet it tastes more like a soda water it's not like a sweet taste it's been it's got like a hint of blackberry it's good it's just not on the level of a dr. Brown's I think dr. Brown's is more of a carbonated soda and this is more of a kind of like a seltzer with a splash of flavoring but it's very good I'll try it just kind of like it seems like it would be a tad healthier than a full-on carbonated soda maybe a little more than a tad so new trick2g shop is complete without testing out the bread eggs in the house dressing so we're gonna open up a bag and have a little dip [Music] [Music] so if you're in downtown CW and you're wanting to eat a cheese shop this is what we were looking at as far as cost for two people couple sandwiches a couple bags of chips drinks and some bread ends we paid 27:34 for the both of us definitely worth a nice fresh bread delicious turkey meat and I took a bite of Sara's grilled cheese and that was delicious too it's kind of like a panini style grilled cheese sandwich 27:34 downtown Williamsburg Virginia the cheese shop [Music] okay so we just finished up at the cheese shop really good lunch and Sara got her wish come true and we got to have lunch once again in downtown Williamsburg right off the Duke of Gloucester glad we could bring you guys the food review if you're ever in the area make sure you take time to stop in and have a sandwich have some bread ends and some house dressing you can't go wrong right on the Duke of Gloucester in the merchants square tea shop hope you liked the review if you liked the video be sure to like it and subscribe to our Channel and we'll see you guys soon on the next vlog [Music] [Music] you [Music]
