praise god how many of you are blessed with that uh missions update uh on behalf of victory and every nation i'd like to thank those who are praying for our missionaries those who are supporting them uh even through financially i pray that god will continue to bless you all right for those if you're here today and you're worshiping with us for the first time aho siri and i'm one of the pastors here in victor report and we want to welcome you to our saturday 4 p.m online worship service pastor jeff today because and that's why i'm privileged i'm so privileged to be here with you this afternoon to preach the word and i want to thank pastor jeff for this opportunity because it's always been an honor to preach the word of god that's why i'm excited because the word today is also close to my heart we are actually on our fourth week of our series called future hope um uh we talked about uh we're talking about the last days or the end times if you've been with us in the past uh four weeks uh uh chapters four first thessalonians because we're going through the book of first thessalonians which is one of the eschatological books in the bible and so in this in this series uh in in today in this uh this week um preach about uh the blessings uh in suffering angalinum uh angelino word last week because uh it gives it reminds us that suffering is part of our uh part of our life as a christian in fact pronouncing jesus christ at him and the one of the blessings that we can get from this we it brings us closer to god and it also confirms that we are his sons and we are his disciples so today we're going to look at chapter four of first thessalonians but before we dive into the word let me uh just take this time to pray and commit would you bow your heads uh your head with me and pray lord salaam god lord as we listen to your word lord i pray that you would speak to our hearts holy spirit and lord young young words [Music] and it will transform our hearts and transform us from inside out and lord in the afternoon service we will never be the same because lord you have transformed us lord little by little from glory to glory so god i pray that you anoint the preaching of your word this afternoon may you be honored may you be glorified in jesus name we pray amen amen so thessalonians if you have your bibles with you uh please turn with me in first thessalonians chapter four and besides verse 16 nang chapter and what we're going to do uh we're going to study the chapter from from dullohan patras no we're going to work our way up some upright uh prior verses or passages in chapter nato so for the lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command with the voice of an archangel and with the sound of the trumpet of god and the dead in christ will rise first to give you a little bit of a background it is a chapter for nato the apostle paul apostle pablo encouraged christians thessalonika because unexpected death what's happening right now there are a lot of people if you um we've been uh and i've been i'm in funeral services canada this morning funeral service and this is one of the encouragement that i've shared with the family of the the the dearly departed because paul is repairing their hope their future hope the your loved ones are incredible and that's why paul had to write a letter to them saying this is this is what's going to happen this is the picture of the future one thing the one one thing that one of the things that we will learn from this passage is that jesus is personal sabrito the lord himself he will be the one who will be coming back it's personal in sabito from heaven with the cry of command and be the voice of an archangel and with the sound of trumpet hindi silences the second because there's a verse the tournament there's a verse in the bible that jesus will return like a thief in the night so in the night is it's going to be saddened announcement signs so it's like a thief but it's not going to be silent every believer every follower those who love jesus war in christ will witness this glorious coming so number one it's personal paulo it's going to be glorious so aren't you excited excited and the glory of god will be revealed to us jesus and i don't know about you i don't know about you i would be crying loud at the top of my lungs to cheer jesus christ christ will rise first god will give them a glorified body and then we will be with them for those of us who are alive in the e1 maui we will caught up together with them in verse 17 caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air and so we will always be with the lord the word meet there is the greek word apantessi a pantesin sabino or apantes only bisa bien punon is um during the ancient times [Music] you see there are a lot of views yeah and there's nothing wrong with that because back amen that's our future hope one day we will be with the lord forever all right so paul is encouraging them sabidito therefore after saying those words jesus therefore encourage one another with these words so animal words he encouraged nothing of course number one what jesus did for us in the past or what what jesus did he died on the cross to save us he died and and the third day he rose again that's why we're saved what jesus will do in the future young second coming that jesus will return and we will meet him face to face and the third thing that we need to encourage one another which we'll be talking about today i'm gonna pound more on is that how do we prepare for his coming now that we're waiting but nothing go in and so let's go back to uh let's go to verse one of this chapter if so chapter four and first thessalonians verse wasabi finally then brothers we ask and urge you in the lord because therefore therefore encourage you these words these words are passages before that that that as you receive from us how you ought to walk and to please god just as you are doing that you do so more and more so the apostle paul and the disciples of jesus no together with sinner peter finnegan they have imparted a way of living disciples so churches and sabbath that you do so more and more because they're already doing it indeed not because but paul is encouraging continue doing that you know the things that we've taught you on obama teach the jesus that we have imparted to you tulu you know what continue doing that and so in verse 9 i'm going to jump in verse 9 i'm going to skip verses so brotherly love so this is one of the things that we need to encourage one another concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you for you yourselves have been taught by god to love one another so alumni disciples the teaching of jesus to love one another so the first thing that we need to encourage one another and remind ourselves is to walk in god's love sabine god's love type god's love walk in god's love the word walk there kanina to subverse nyon is the the word peripato peripato which means uh to live in a certain way to to behave in a certain way so as a believer as a follower of jesus we are expected to live in a certain way to please god and that is to walk in god's love sabito for for that indeed in what you are doing to all the brothers throughout macedonia but we urge you brothers to do this more and more keep loving one another keep forgiving no offence some of you hear you know maybe um i want to encourage you ask god's grace for to to release that forgiveness because here's what jesus himself said said to us in john 13 34 sabine jesus a new commandment i give to you that you love one another just as i have loved you not the way you knew love not be the way other people loved you or the way we we know love you know some i love songs it's very specific even your enemies and this is not easy but by god's grace because it's a commandment that jesus gave us that's how we walk in god's love and that's how we please him sabine jesus in chapter 13 and john verse 35 by this all people will know that you are truly my disciples not not about not because of the church that you go to not because of victory or ccf or suggestion or not because of the views that you believed in armenia that you are truly my disciples how if you have loved one another by the way you treat one another by the way you love sobbing jesus if you love me enough you will keep my commandments and i believe this is one of jesus loved languages jesus would feel love pakis obedience is better than sacrifice you will keep this command to love one another i love god the bible says if you love god you will love people no one can say i love god but he hates his brother because god is what god is love god is love you will never go wrong when you walk in god's love when you operate in love i i love what one of our ninoms rico you know manchester shared with us so wife goes a minute check the blueprint for marriage comments is kind so the bible is saying when you love there has to be kindness with your thoughts with your speech and with your deeds and go in because you selfish bible in fact teachings to jesus but if we love the same way this is not easy but by god's grace you will be able to do this because we are in christ and we love you amen amen so in verse seven going back to first thessalonians chapter 4 verse 7 kanina walk in god's love another thing that we need to encourage one another to keep doing is this for god has not called us for impurity but in holiness god has not called us for impurity but in holiness in other words god is calling us to walk in his holiness we need to be holy because he himself is holy and i want to pound more on this in this passage because a lot of christians claim to be christians and followers of jesus and so we settled but god is very clear in fact in psalm 24 verse three to four sabbath this is very strong this is this verse in psalm 24 who shall ascend the hill of the lord and who shall stand in his holy place how can we dwell with god the person he who has clean hands and a pure heart how can we ascend to the holy hill of god and to be in his presence those who have clean hands and holy heart clean hands as rather pure heart clean hands and pure heart hands represents the physical the heart represents the emotional the mental the inner being the private the things and god is saying if you want to come into my presence god is saying i want your hands to be clean and i want your heart to be pure and i need this to understand that purity has something to do with the heart not with your hands in other words for example virginity for the singles virginity has something to do with the hands it has something to do with uh the physical it's an issue of a physical but purity is an issue of the heart the emotions and of the mind so one person can be virgin not because virgin capita or some of us here naman this is good news for some uh who um have uh fallen and to temptation and now indica virgin people how many of you would agree with me get married can a god is still expecting you to live a pure life to have a pure heart so temporarily in virginity but god is calling us i'm not saying indica making clean and i'm not saying any money to keep you you impurity in virginia i'm not saying that if you're a virgin right now stay as a virgin don't fornicate don't have sex with someone hindi kamerid if you have a boyfriend girlfriend right now order the marriage bed bug sex a boyfriend was a girlfriend more boyfriend then enjoy sex because that's what sex is designed for it is designed to be within the marital boundaries purity is not a point that you cross or you reach it's a it's a past that you take in this let me tell you know years ago i got addicted to porn then and so you mindset on the moment i stopped the day i stopped watching porn to be the day that i become pure you know mindset go before but purity is not a point that you reach it's a continuous person it's a path that you take it's a path that you take so i want you to live pure god wants you to live pure and holy not just physically emotionally mentally spiritually because that's the will of god for us verse 3 for this is the will of god you want to know what what's the will of god for your life and this is the most frequently asked questions am i going to take am i going to the bible says for this is the will of god your sanctification type mujansa my sanctification that's the will of god for you for you to be sanctified that you abstain from sexual immorality you abstain from sexual immorality the will of god for you as a follower of jesus is your sanctification whether whether you take this job because a young common question is yes that could be one of the facets of the will of god but you see the will of god is found in god's ways when you commit your life to purity when you commit your life to obey his ways you will inevitably stumble upon god's will you will you will be in the center of god's will whether you're whether you take a job uh whether in my doctor or whatever you know if there's righteousness and there's purity then you will be at the center of the will of god see lord he will he will direct your path proverbs 3 verse 6 submit in all your ways submit to him and he will direct your path when you submit your ways not your own way but god's ways how you do things how we do things how we treat people young thoughts then we will be at the same you will find the will of god you see purity is the path to your god-given destiny it's not a point that you reach not it's not a point that you cross it's a past that you take you're calling remember the calling of god you you prophetic word that you've received you when when you receive the lord jesus christ you word you you promises think about those things for you to be able to reach that point or from point a to point b the path going to go your god-given destiny is the purity a path it's the path of purity god is saying to you right now you will find my will enough if you will set yourself apart enough you will find my will if you will stop watching porn you will find my will if you flee from compromising situations you will find my will and now if you live your life in honor to me and you get yourself sanctified god wants us to live a life of purity because purity is a path to your destiny and the classic example of that is a famous story in the bible joseph the dreamer how many of you favorite story in cagaya favorite historically in store new joseph because joseph had a dream from the lord remember he had a dream from god and this dream became true but the path to his dream was marked with purity he did not know the directions to see the fulfillment of his dream and then future what he did he committed himself to be pure in fact the more he committed himself to purity the more it seemed like he was getting farther and farther from the fulfillment of his dream of egyptians but in reality he was the closest to the fulfillment of that purpose of his god-given destiny why because he committed himself to be pure when he when he ran away from the temptation he ran closer to his purpose when he lived a life of excellence in the prison cell he was walking closer closer to his destiny and so i want to encourage you if you are here today you're working sub-standard mediocre continue to work for god continue to be excellent that that way god will lead you because as you honor god with your work he will lead you closer to your god-given destiny live pure take the path of purity and so even if things don't make sense but you know that you know that you are living a pure life you can guarantee you can be assured of this that you will be at the center of the will of god and you will see that purpose that god given destiny be fulfilled right before your eyes somebody ace somebody say amen type mention amen and so live pure walk in god's holiness going back to the verse in verse four to five that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor not in the passion of the lusts like the gentiles in the other translations like the pagans who do not know god paul went on and reminding them that each one of you should know how to control it's not just it's not just not yielding to temptation or sexual immorality but being able to control your own body it means submitting your sensuality to your spirituality it means submitting your feelings to your faith it means submitting your chemistry to your convictions learn to possess your passions learn to possess your body in honor many people are being possessed by their passions instead of possessing their passions you see is that even christians no they allow the culture to dictate their way of living we don't we no longer live in the times now we are no longer under law we're under grace no you are called by god to live pure you're called by god to walk in holiness we don't we you know we we don't conform to the patterns of this world but we are being transformed how by the renewing of our mind anu agrees on my mind is not in the bible the word of god hindi young word need god omega just and we should not let the culture the world to sway us away from that calling of god to live pure learn the bible says learn to possess your vessel possess your passions possess your urges your desires get them under control of your theology and of your belief systems your convictions and of your faith possess your passions they're driven by their urges and their their desires uh angels they don't have desires of the flesh we have a body yes but we have also spirit and so we can tell our bodies what to get and what not to get you can decide and god wants you to take control of your body because your body is the temple of the holy spirit it should not be used for anything right anything else aside from the glory of god for the glory of god do not use your body for impurity and for sexual immorality if you're in that right now you're living a lifestyle you can't seem to get out of porn you can't seem to get out of that and ask god for grace lord make a decision lord this has to stop lord i want to follow you i want to follow you and god will give you the power to control your body the bible says the fruit of the spirit is what self-control you will have self-control he wants god wants to give you the power to walk in authority and in power and in self-control amen going back versus that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter because the lord is an avenger in all these things as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you god doesn't want you to defraud your brother or your sister kareena pinocchi walking in god's love you know what's happening brother do you love if you love someone hindi hindi mo if you're a single man or single woman today and you're in a relationship you claim to be a follower of jesus i want you to stop do not defraud your brother do not defraud your sister don't play games with their emotions if you are today you're in a relationship just to have fun then stop if you want to have fun find a hobby more friends have fun but don't make fun of someone somebody else's heart because god is an adventure there's a stern warning here god will avenge you he will advance those people that sinaktan pina asamo those of you offended sexually god will avenge there's a price to pay for purity my friend and the price is we are the price that we are paying is we're not asking the question how close we can get without falling i say a lot maraming some christians know but unquestionably is how far can i get closer saying but without falling that should not be our question our question is how far can i flee so that i can get closer to god that should be our question the price that we're paying is leaving out our convictions and there's going to be restrictions seemingly no boy christian pastor god is asking us to pay now pay the price and enjoy later we're enjoying uh now but you're going to pay later pay later may my unwanted pregnancy broken homes broken families let me tell you this real freedom can be found in purity because if you live a pure life it may seem like para hindi afrikas and dummy restrictions but guess what time that god's called you to enjoy that sexual intimacy that that sexual intimacy you you will feel the most free person because it is you can look at your spouse in the eye and say mahal love making faithful i live pure you're the most free person that's the real freedom if you live pure purity will lead you to true liberty we're not subject to our bodies we are not enslaved by our urges and by our cravings we are enslaving our cravings and our urges they are under our control that's why we fast that's why we pray that's why we discipline our bodies that's why um that's why there's spiritual disciplines and if the body wants if the body wants it then the body doesn't get it [Music] stay pure don't trade the ultimate for the immediate because god has something for you way way better so for now live pure because if it's against god no matter how good it is no matter how how enjoyable it is if it's against god it is against our good do not transgress others stay pure galatians 5 16 but i say walk by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh you see purity is found in the pursuit of his presence not in the pursuit of purity it didn't say do not gratify the desires of the flesh and then you will walk by the spirit and sabadito walk by the spirit and then you will not gratify the desires of the flesh that's why a lot of christians are frustrated because they still see purity as a point to cross or to reach it's not a point that you cross it's a past that you take it's a path that you take it's a continuous pursuit purity is not something you get by chasing purity purity is something you get by chasing god purity is a result of pursuing god some some something happens uh for if you're here today and you're you're into running when you're committed to live a healthy life and you start running you start buying those running shoes and putting them on the side come on jogging because healthy the moment you start running and doing exercise every day then you get healthier and the more you do it you do it more and more you you see you will lose weight you will lose baggages your heart gets healthier expel toxins as you continue to do that you will begin to desire healthy things and you will naturally have dislike on the things that are unhealthy that's in the same way that's that's how purity works in our spirituality when we commit ourselves to purity when we decide lord my body is a temple of the holy spirit i should take care of my body and i should take care of my spirit be like david a man after god's own heart david just came a man after god's own heart he's always after god he's pursuing god and the moment we continue pursuing god the natural effect of that is we will live a pure life automatically some of you are thinking this are you pursuing god because purity is impossible to achieve if you are passive if you are not you are not following jesus that's why jesus is calling us right now come follow me and now follow me if you're not following jesus if you're passive except then don't expect that you will live pure because the bible says if you abide in me jesus will abide in you and you will bear much fruit and one of those fruit the graces of that fruit is self-control purity so be in the presence of god pursue god keep running keep walking in god's holiness welcome up come on give up if you are here today i can sense that you're fighting that fight of purity don't give up that fight of purity constantly ask god for grace lord i've been single for many years and i battled that you urge us there were nights that i would cry to god lord so if you are here today god is faithful and he knows your struggles but god is giving you the power as well it's not by might nor by power but by the spirit walk in step with the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh pursue god it's not something you get by pursuing purity you will end up disappointed because if you pursue god and focus jesus and focus to walk with the spirit i tell you automatically i tell you believe me does that mean well in a temptation of course not there will be temptation but you will have the grace to say no to temptations you will have the grace to say no to ungodliness you will have the grace to say yes to god every single day [Music] seek him pursue him if you seek god you will find him the bible says i sense a lot of you here today on the outside you're okay you're a good christian but on the inside you're a mess you're full of your heart is full of impurity and i want to pray with you i want to pray for you [Music] walk in god's love and purity is not just about sexual purity beauty of heart is purity of the mind [Music] bitterness is their malice [Music] bitterness will make your heart impure walk in god's love walk in god's holiness while waiting for the coming of jesus christ what should we do how do we live our lives how do we walk walk in god's love and walk in his holiness but you don't have to do this alone you don't have to walk alone walk with the spirit and walk with somebody and that's why we encourage you to be connected to a small group be connected with someone patent deep a small group but have someone that you can stand in faith with and stand in prayer with someone that you can open up bro pray with me walk with someone walk with the spirit and walk with someone if you want to walk with someone just type their connect we will help you be connected so for if you're here today and you feel like you're you're impure and you're not living a life that's pleasing god and miracle fears are second coming you know that you know you've done a lot of things that hurt the lord and hindi confident maybe you're here today why because [Music] it seems like victory over that area but let me encourage you god wants you god wants to give you the power to overcome that and secretly walk don't stop don't give up continue following me i want to pray for you if you're here today [Music] you need the grace of god especially in that area of purity maybe you're saying [Music] i want to pray for you maybe you're here and you're saying future spouse i want to pray for you there's hope that's why this is good news to you and me there's hope the bible says god can create a new heart creating me a clean heart oh god and renew a right spirit within me and god is more than willing to do that to you right now if you if that's you today you want that new heart would you bow your head with me lord you see my brother and you see my sister who is worshiping with us today you see their faith lord struggles and lord right now they're pleading god help me help me overcome this struggle lord tulum lord i pray that you would grant them the power to say no to sin lord i pray that you would fill their hearts with your love fill their hearts with joy lord god and fill the their hearts with your presence and go grant them the strength to to get up and continue running and not give up i pray that you would heal their hearts or those who have been wronged by somebody else lord in this area of sexuality lord i pray that you would heal them if somebody if they've been abused lord god in the past i pray that you would heal them right now in the name of jesus heal them lord touch their hearts right now and lord excited [Music] and you are here to break those chains and grant him or her freedom lord salamat i pray for my brother and for my sister right now bless them lord god bless him bless her in every good way help them to walk in your love and to walk in your holiness and as they continue doing this lord as they continue to pursue you every day or they will have that natural desire for the things that you desire and natural hate for the things that you hear and before they knew it so destiny we claim that even right now your purpose is in your lord god we claim that even right now we hold on to that [Music] emotional healing so spiritual healing and even spiritual revival or god fanning to flame that desire banging on to to follow you to pursue you and to seek you but we honor you we give you praise in jesus mighty name everybody say amen and amen come on let's give god praise praise god praise god receive that encourage close sayo receive that right now pastor parang impossible receive it by faith and you will see god work in
